California
Road Trip, Central Coast
I am
convinced that everybody once thought about traveling in the USA by car. This
is a great country that loves cars, so this model of spending holidays is one
of the most popular among tourists. One of the first thoughts that comes to
mind about a road trip is the road from the east coast to the west. Starting a
trip in New York and ending in Los Angeles is an amazing experience. However,
such a journey requires a lot of time and a lot of resources. In addition, this
type of trip provides excess experience. Therefore, it may be better to focus
on a slightly shorter distance. Since flights to Los Angeles are currently
relatively cheap and are carried out directly from Warsaw, I will propose a
shorter but extremely charming route through the central part of the coast.
Traveling
through the number one highway, you can discover many breathtaking views. First
of all, the landscape is characterized by green forests, sapphire water and
beautiful hills. It is a big change in relation to the desert south of the state.
The highway connects San Francisco with Los Angeles and I think traveling the
whole episode is an unforgettable experience. Many people say that the most
ominous part of this route falls on the section between Monterey and Big Sur.
Monterey is a charming fishing village that will welcome you with its excellent
fruit and unique architecture. This place is well known to those who watched
the "Big Little Lies" series produced by HBO.
Driving
south towards Big Sur, you will come across many bays where you can go down and
spend any amount of time enjoying the views. Driving further we come across one
of the most amazing places in the world; redwood forest. I think there is not
much to write here, you just need to see it. After an eventful day, the town
offers many charming accommodation and restaurants. This is California, you can
spend the night on the hood of the car and admire countless stars or go to a
luxury camp-like resort. Personally, I would like to experience both.
On this
occasion, Carmel-by-the-Sea is worth mentioning. This is a unique place where
you will find beautiful sandy beaches. It is a very specific place, currently
it is an enclave of people tired of life in San Francisco. As a curiosity,
Clint Eastwood was the mayor of Carmel in 1986-1988. There are not many
attractions in Carmel-by-the-Sea, but the town itself has a very pleasant
atmosphere.
I wish
everyone had the opportunity to go to this extremely charming place.

Will
you see a specific car as a vehicle for such a journey? A convertible from the
60s, Italian beauty or maybe modern muscle car?
3.
Would
you prefer, let’s forget about the cost spend a night in a luxury hotel or on
the beach of the US west coast.
Comments
I would like to drive for some time by a muscle car too but only for a while.
Luxury hotel. There is a lot of sketchy people on the west coast too. I don't want to meet them at night.
I would never travel USA with car. Only plane is an option.
It would depend who i travel with, but i would probably choose luxury hotel. I could spend night on beach anyway.
I’ve never thought about it, but it sounds very appealing. It would be interesting to go on a road trip even in one state, but a big one, such as Texas, since it’s bigger than Poland. It’s a beautiful place to see various attractions and landscapes. They also have very broad and long roads there.
2. Will you see a specific car as a vehicle for such a journey? A convertible from the 60s, Italian beauty or maybe modern muscle car?
I’d choose a convertible from the 60s, because of its big and powerful engine. I would be more about cruising that driving and it has a really good vibe.
3. Would you prefer, let’s forget about the cost, to spend a night in a luxury hotel or on the beach of the US west coast.
I’d rather spend a night in a luxury hotel, because the view from the windows would be breathtaking. The bed would be comfortable and food really tasty. I wouldn’t have to worry about sand getting into every part of my body and hair and I wouldn’t be woken up by seagulls or other people walking around me. It would be a better idea to stay on the beach late to see the sunset and then go back to the hotel.
2. I didn't think about it, but maybe it should be a car with low fuel consumption.
3. Definitely the beach.
To be honest, I didn’t consider a trip around the USA. I think it is extremely interesting country and really diverse, but total cost of spending time and traveling in the United States could make me feel dizzy.. :) I can’t give you specific plans, but I definitely wanna visit Hawaii.
2.
Probably a motorbike rather than a car. I love the look of streetfighters and I think that bikes like Yamaha MT 09, Ducati Monster 821 or KTM Duke 890 would be perfect for such a trip.
3.
I don’t care about luxury so the first option is not for me, but spending night on a wild beach under the starry sky could be a great experience.
I am planning a trip to the United States. I know this country only from films and the colorful press. I would like to visit Great America on both the east and west coasts. I would visit California, San Francisco, LAS VEGAS and New York.
2. Will you see a specific car as a vehicle for such a journey? A convertible from the 60s, Italian beauty or maybe modern muscle car?
My favorite is the Ford Mustang from the 60s. A sports car would definitely work on America's wide roads.
3. Would you prefer, let’s forget about the cost spend a night in a luxury hotel or on the beach of the US west coast.
I would like to live on the beach, in a tent like the Indians, and travel to places not affected by civilization. My dream is to fly over Yellowstone National Park. And if it were to be a hotel, it's only in Hollywood.
2. If two people are a muscle car. If more than 4-6 then camper.
3. Both options are very interesting, so I would try to spend the night in a luxury hotel in the hills in Hollywood, and then follow the footsteps of the Indians and spend the night in the wild.
2. I would choose modern, reliable and fast car.
3. I'm not very adventurous so luxury hotel would be perfect.
1. I think it would be a great fun. I've always wanted to visit US and I think a trip around the country or at least certain part of it is the best way possible to do so.
2. I guess the car doesn't matter it should be just working properly and be equiped with cooling.
3. I guess something between that would be cool thing. However trying for once the things you mentioned couldn't hurt, right?
If I ever will travel across US I would like to travel by car locally. Staying in one place and exploring all around by driving there. Or maybe driving all costs in few months staying for night or two just chilling and enjoying places.
2. Will you see a specific car as a vehicle for such a journey? A convertible from the 60s, Italian beauty or maybe modern muscle car?
Well, I didn't think about that kind of details. I guess, that the car should be convenient and it depends on travel budget.
3. Would you prefer, let’s forget about the cost spend a night in a luxury hotel or on the beach of the US west coast.
I am the one who will choose something in the middle, obviously I would love to try stay as in luxury hotel as on the coast just to understand and have these experience.
2. On such a trip I would take a modern muscle car in a convertible, e.g. a Dodge Challenger.
3. I believe that I would definitely like to spend some nights outside the hotline but I believe that you also need to rest well during such a trip so as not to expose yourself and other road participants to injury.
Of course, I already thought it would be great to visit every state or drive from the east coast of the USA to the west coast .
2. Will you see a specific car as a vehicle for such a journey? A convertible from the 60s, Italian beauty or maybe modern muscle car?
I think that this trip should be allocated quite a bit of time, because all states are different from each other and some are the size of some countries, if I am not mistaken, then the state of Texas is larger than Poland. Therefore, I think that for each state it is necessary to allocate not a day or two to fully feel its feature. I would choose a comfortable house on wheels for that trip.
3. Would you prefer, let’s forget about the cost spend a night in a luxury hotel or on the beach of the US west coast.
As I already wrote, I would choose a house on wheels, but also I wouldn't mind spending the night somewhere with a tent on the beach or in the forest or in a hunting hut, but sometimes I can stay in comfortable hotels for relaxation.
2. I'm big fan of muscle car. Don't care it's modern or old school. I really love Mustang and Camaro. I dream about that car from my childhood. I think in such journey these cars would be perfect
3. I prefer on the beach of the US west coast. I don't care about luxury.
2. I don't know. Maybe muscle car - but I don't know how much fuel cost there. Camper might be also good option. I could save money on hotels
3. I prefer west coast beaches.
2. I think an old convertible would be the best, e.g. Cadillac Unknown.
3. I would prefer a luxury beach hotel. Now, when traveling to the USA is easier and cheaper, I'm thinking of going to America, but that's just an idea.
I was on trip alongside the west coast a few years ago with my father. We went from Seattle going south through Portland, Oregon. Then to California to stay finally in San Francisco. The trip was really nice and we did around 10 000 kilometers if you count a trip back to Canada.
2. Will you see a specific car as a vehicle for such a journey? A convertible from the 60s, Italian beauty or maybe modern muscle car?
A muscle car in USA would be perfect but I don’t think that I could take it on a long trip. Those cars are not very comfortable and you can’t pack everything there as trunk is usually really small. When I was with my father, we had a huge Toyota SUV which was perfect as it had 4-wheel drive, was very spacious and had a automatic gear box. On top of that it was much more economic than a muscle car.
3. Would you prefer, let’s forget about the cost spend a night in a luxury hotel or on the beach of the US west coast.
I am not a fan of luxurious hotels. I think I wouldn’t feel there comfortable as I don’t like snobbery so I think I’d have to go for a night on a beach.
2. I think I would choose something comfortable, as such trip would require traveling over huge distances.
3. I would choose a luxurious hotel.
1. Yes, it is my dream destination for now. I would like to see the USA exactly in this way. I mean by car. Be free, and drive where the road ends.
2. I will choose a mustang. It can be modern version or the older one, but it has to be a mustang. The horse, open car roof, and no music. Just listening to the sounds of engine. Exactly like the old school way.
3. I would prefer the US west coast beach. The Los Angeles is one of city which are my must have to see in the USA.
2. Definitely a pickup truck. It is the essence of the USA
3. Sleeping on the beach is definitely a better idea
2. I have no idea. I love some American classic (cars), but a car would not be the most important thing there. And I've never thought about this kind of trip so it's hard to say, what car I would need.
3. I would prefer the night on the beach.
2. As I mentioned earlier I would like to ride a muscle car like Ford Mustang or something like this. Doesn't matter if modern or older. This cars has souls. And that engine's sounds, wonderful!
3. I think I would choose second option. I can find luxury hotel in every country, but this kind of beaches in US are amazing.
2. If I could choose any car I would choose the Nissan skyline GTR v-spack II R34 or the Nissan skyline 2000gtr c10. Skyline is comfortable enough on the route and will allow you to play on mountain roads, and I just love these cars :)
3. I don't like hotels and I prefer to sleep under a tent or in a car, and I would rather sleep somewhere in the mountains than on the beach, there are nicer views.
it seriously or planned it. Now travelling to the United States is much easier than
before so maybe I would go there in a few years. I know that there’s a lot of
amazing places in the United States so it’s impossible to see all of them,
especially in one trip. When I was thinking about visiting the United States I’ve
always consider California so maybe your presentation will be useful for me in
the future.
2. The best car for that journey for me would be definitely a convertible car. Firstly,
it’s perfect to admiring the landscape because of open construction. It allows
passengers to experience more than typical car including sounds and local
weather. Secondly, I would like to feel the atmosphere of dream vacation, the
wind in my hair and a convertible car is a necessary part of it.
3. Sleeping on the beach sounds like a great idea to experience something
different. However, I think it’s not for me. I wouldn’t feel safe spending night in
such a place. I prefer comfortable bed and own bathroom so I would choose a
luxury hotel. Despite sleeping in a hotel I would like to go to the beach in the
early morning to see the sunrise over the ocean.
2) Already answered above.
3) I will choose coast for sure. Seating near the fire at the middle of the night on the beach watching to the sky. I can`t imagine something more exciting.
A road trip around the United States has always been my dream. I would like to see the deserts of the Wild West and Californian coast. I think that there are so many magnificent places to explore there and such a trip certainly requires a lot of time and financial resources. But it must be an unforgettable and very valuable experience. I would like to go there with my friends.
2.Will you see a specific car as a vehicle for such a journey? A convertible from the 60s, Italian beauty or maybe modern muscle car?
I would choose a modern muscle car.
3.Would you prefer, let’s forget about the cost spend a night in a luxury hotel or on the beach of the US west coast.
Definitely, I would prefer spend a night on the beach of the US west coast. I love admiring such amazing landscapes.
