Collage in art. 4 artists you should know about  1. Mary Lum Interdisciplinary artist Mary Lum in her collage work combines photographic fragments of urban architecture, architecural elements found in vintage comic books and acrylic print on a paper to creat new spaces suggesting the intertwined facts and fictions of urban experience. Cutting and layering paper is analogous to wandering it the city. In her works we can find fatastic world mixed with our everyday views. Mary has been member in the Visual Arts department of Bennington Collage since 2005. 2. Gordon Magnin Images from highfashion , bodybuilding and pornography are based choice of the artist. He plays with human body in every possible way. Repetition, converting, using geometrical shapes lets him create inimitalbe humans creatures. His art is somehow discomposing and refer to this days cult of the body. 3. Virginia Echeverria As she says she attempts to to make manifest an invisi

Week 10 [30.05 - 05.06] When art meets fashion.

Combinations of desing, hightech, art and fashion it sounds like a recipe for success. I want to show You exampels of this who knew about it and now they are recognizable around the world as a symbol of modernity and success. Personally I am maniac of this kind of combinations and I am looking forword to see similar ideas in Poland. 1.Yayoi Kusama Japanese painter, sculptor, writer, performer avantgarde and political activist. A precursor of the minimalist, popart and feminist art movements. In 1968, Kusama established Kusama Fashion Company and began selling avantgarde fashion in the Kusama Corner. However, the bigest recognition came after her line of Louis Vuitton products. All what she creats is distinctive and unique, it can not be taken as a work of someone else. Her favorite graphic symbols are dots shown in every possible way. Her phenomen is using simple shape to create striking pattern. In Japan she is one of the most fameous contemporary artist, she becom

Week 10 [30.05 - 05.06] Dark side of eSports

Something like two months ago in Katowice there was one of the biggest and prestigious eSport event s . I am talking about IEM 2016 which was the finals of Intel Extreme Masters ( a fourth big event that took place in Poland). http://polscygracze.pl/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/KatowiceIEM.jpg Many of those who had the pleasure of either being in Katowice themselves or streaming the tournament must have agreed upon one thing. What once was considered merely a child's play is now growing every year and maybe in the nearest future eSports might take their place among other 'real' sports. What does it bring   to the world of eSport? The first thing is that eSports are changing to adapt everything we know from 'real' sports, and that means both good and bad things. So today I am going to present to you those bad things that eSports brought from 'real' sports. Corruption http://kotaku.com/top-starcraft-player-life-arrested-in-south-kor

Week 10 [30.05 - 05.06] Great comeback of board games

On the Polish market it seems to be some kind of renaissance of board games. Shop shelves are full of both the new ones and the older titles. We are no longer condemned to the Monopoly series (of course I am not implying that it was bad) and we can reach for almost every possible board game that was released worldwide. Not to mention some of our own creators like Portal Games. Today I am going to present to you some board games titles that are worth mentioning. For someone who likes board games and has some titles it might not be anything new, but maybe you are thinking about getting a new one. And maybe some of these titles can appeal to you. Bear in mind that they are in somehow random order. The Settlers of Catan http://i1.wp.com/bitcast-a-sm.bitgravity.com/slashfilm/wp/wp-content/images/Settlers-of-Catan-700x300.jpg?resize=700%2C300 For some it is not very surprising that this game is on my list. In my personal opinion,  it's the

Week 10 [30.05 - 05.06] Military drones

Drones are everywhere right now. Their use by civilians is highly restricted in big cities, but armed forces around the world use them for many different tasks. Police http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01582/drone_1582834b.jpg The Police use drones mostly for observing/recording parades and strike actions. What a couple of years back could be achieved with a helicopter, now can be achieved with a much smaller and cheaper drone. Special law enforcement units use them also in case of a bomb threat to either observe some crucial area of a city or investigate whether something is a bomb without risking lives of their officers. Police in Japan use them even to catch other drones, which are controlled by civilians (as I mentioned, use of drones by civilians is restricted in major cities). They will certainly find their use in the upcoming Euro 2016 football championship in France, which is at risk of a terrorist attack. Recently I’ve seen on the news a drone he

Week 10 [30.05 - 05.06] Comedy music

Everyone has probably heard a comedy song at some point. There are some artists that focus their songwriting efforts on keeping  songs funny. Many of those songs are just aimed at getting the audience to laugh out loud, but some of them have a deeper meaning and try to spread a message. I would like to present to you a list that consists of my favorite (and some that I just find interesting) musical comedy acts. Flight of the Conchords https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwAv4mg4rR0 This Grammy Award winning comedy-duo from Wellington, New Zealand consists of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement. In addition to having a BBC radio series and recording albums, they also had a TV-show on HBO which lasted 2 seasons. I personally prefer their live performances, but there are a few exceptions. Both gentlemen have also been successful on their own, most notably Bret McKenzie won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for the song “Man or Muppet”. Their hits include: “Issues”, “Hi
