Week 1 (05.10 - 11.10) Syrian Immigrants

Today one of the most interesting topics presented and discussed by the media is immigration to Europe. This topic should be relevant to each and every citizen of the European Union, because migration of people from outside of Europe is increasing every year. Currently one of the biggest migration problems is migration from Syria. Below you can see how many people migrating from Syria to Europe were detected on borders of different countries. As you can see the total number of detections has increased dramatically since 2014 from 7,431 to 56,766 and it will be higher probably in the next year. Below you can see how immigrants will be distributed in European countries according to Jean-Claude Junker, current European Commission President. Junker’s distribution quotas are based on wealth of destination countries. Currently Europe is facing many problems and one of the most important of them concerns ethnic Muslim minorities in Europe. As you may know, Muslims usually don't want to assimilate with the local society, they prefer to create separated from the society communities.
