Week 4 [1-07.04] Model for everyone! Smartphone buying headache.

Buying new phone in 2019 can be a hard task for smartphone users, and its getting harder with each day!  Why ? Consider this : Just in 2017 we had 474 smartphone models released globally, in 2018 we did get another 435 models and as of 30 of March we have 64 models released, that's almost 1000 models to choose from if you are fine looking for “older” models, or over 500 if you are fine with just last year models. Isn’t that a little bit too much ? But why do we need so many different models ?  Wouldn’t it be better to release fewer phones and give them proper support care ? Let's take a quick look at smartphones trends! In 2017 we had couple trends every company wanted to keep up with those were: Dual main camera assemblies, we started seeing those everywhere primary + secondary sensors on the back became quickly our bread and butter. Curved screens Unibody metal designs Bigger and more dense (pixel wise) screens LTE support More ram How about 2018 tre

The vision for future of gaming called Stadia was revealed at the at GDC 2019 in San Francisco on March 19. If you have some time (1 hour) you can watch the full GDC announcement panel on YouTube: But if u dont let me summarize Stadia for you: Stadia will be an all in one platform for gaming, it will supports games development process, its advertising, distribution and hosting. T hrough its game streaming it will eliminate hardware barriers for all people around the globe. But how it’s supposed to work? The heart of Stadia will be built on Google’s data center network in 200 countries. Which will allow users to rent out their computing power to play games instead of buying hardware on their own, and stream games to any supported device they own. To achieve such graphical computation power Google partnered up with AMD to build GPU dedicated for such tremendous task. Closest comparison would be Netflix but for games, with library of games to choose from and without any instal

Week 4 [1-07.04] How to turn stress into a friend?

How to turn stress into a friend? Her content was pretty interesting. We all have this idea that stress is bad for you and we should avoid it at all costs, but it's is how we view stress that affects us. If we view stress as an enemy, then it will have a negative impact on our health. I never would've thought about stress like that. That definitely changed my mindset of stress and was definitely worth watching. This can be very helpful for anyone dealing with stress. Questions: 1. How do you feel about stress?  2. Do you think stress makes us more sociable?  3. Did you find this video helpful?

Week 4 [1-07.04] Tattoo

History The history of tattoos dates back to primitive times. However, there is no consensus about the origin of this ancient art form. Some argue that the birthplace of the "eternal drawings" is Mesopotamia, and talk about what people already in those days put on their body images of the surrounding creatures and objects. When did the tattoo appear? This question is difficult to answer, because it is necessary to have preserved human skin, and the human body is known to be subject to decay. The Egyptian mummification technique allowed researchers to find a tattoo on the body of mummies, thus, it can be considered  that the technique of tattooing  has been more than 4 thousand years old. Values of tattoos The first tattoo was always decorated on  the face. Thus, it’s known that the Maori tribes of New Zealand applied to the face tattoos - "Moko". Such drawings served as indicators of the social status of their owner, and if the deceased warri

Week 4 [01-07.04] An impact of video games on people's behavior

An impact of video games on people's behavior   (source:  http://flashgamegate.com/violent-video-games-have-an-impact-on-behavior/ ) How often do you play games? And how often did you hear as a child (or anytime) that video games are bad, have harmful influence on young people and lead to aggression? I bet quite often. These beliefs are so widespread that most of a society believes in them. But should video games be so demonized? Are they really as evil as they are presented in the media and by other people? In this presentation I will introduce you to the most up to date study done by researchers from the Oxford Internet Institute that brings up the mentioned subject. (source: http://www.ox.ac.uk/news/2019-02-13-violent-video-games-found-not-be-associated-adolescent-aggression ) The topic of games’ impact on people's behavior is the most often raised when it comes to a tragedy with video games in the background. In the past there were indeed some c

Questions: 1.        Which of the three theories included in video you would choose as most likely to happened? 2.        Do you have any other idea of how can universe end? 3.        Are you afraid of the end of the world?

Week 4 [01-07.04] Why the older we are, the faster time goes?

While we were children, summer holidays lasted forever and winter break for centuries. Have you ever wondered, why when we are older time is running definietly faster? A week is like a day, month like week and years pass by with dizzying speed? So how does it happened that the older we are the less time we have? It seems reasonable that older people perceive time differently then younger ones because of overload of activities that need to be done and constant life in a hurry. But is it the only reason? There are a few theories that explains why perceiving time accelerate along with our age. One theory is that the human mind senses the change of time by changing the perceived images. This can be explained so that time needed for our mind to understand what we perceive becomes longer with age. Along with ageing the body we perceive and recognize less and less so it is not time that shortens but our brain is getting tired more quickly. The best example is human eye. It is i
