Week 12 [18.06-24.06.2018] Architecture, Japan, Church on the Water

I would like to present you very known Japanese architect Tadao Ando and one of the most recognisable churches designed by him. Ando was born a few minutes before his twin brother in 1941 in Osaka in Japan. In childhood, he learned carpentry. N ever having formal training in the architecture, he attended night classes to learn to draw and took correspondence courses on interior design. He visited buildings designed by renowned architects to study nuances of space, form, light and materials. In 1968 he established his own design studio, Tadao Ando Architects and Associates. His favourite materials are concrete, steel, glass and wood. The simplicity of his architecture emphasises the concept of sensation and physical experiences, mainly influenced by Japanese culture. Cheating on exams or test is something that everyone did at least once in their lives. Someone has a really big experience, others don`t respect cheating on exams. Cheating is something that helps people to avoid studying that seems useless for them. It's happened to just about everyone. You have a test coming up and you've completely forgotten to study. Or, you have a test coming up and you just don't want to study because there are better ways to spend your time, like living your life for example. In an unforgettable talk, he details "NeuroEmbodied Design," a methodology for creating cyborg function that he's developing at MIT, and shows us a future where we've augmented our bodies in a way that will redefine human potential -- and, maybe, turn us into superheroes. Citizenship is a status of a person recognized under the custom or a law as being a member of a nation. If your country allows duel-citizenship you may consider getting another one. Different countries have various ways in which you can acquire their citizenship. For a lot of them it is a factor of time spent in its territory and knowledge of its culture. For some it’s just as simple as buying a property. Depending on a country however it may be a very expensive one. For a few there’s no other way to acquire it other than by direct inheritance. Find out into which countries people can buy their way in and why they do it. Questions: 1. Would you like to emigrate and why? If yes, temporarily or perhaps permanently and where? 2. What do you think about the process of acquiring citizenship? How hard should it be? What should be the requirements?   3. Would you like to have more than one citizenship? Why?

By 2020 Chinese Government has vowed to roll out the national social credit system. The program was announced in 2014 and has been rapidly implemented and piloted for millions of people already. Right now, it’s mostly run by private tech companies with platforms that hold personal data. But also sometimes by city councils. One such an example would be a city of Rongcheng where every citizen is assigned 1000 points at the beginning. He or she receives penalty points for breaking laws and regulations. While being rewarded for exceptional good behavior. For example, for traffic ticket you lose five points. Earn a city-level award, such as for committing a heroic act, doing exemplary business, or helping your family in unusual tough circumstances, and your score get boosted by 30 points. You can also earn credit by donating to charity or volunteering in the city’s program. Tesla Roadster Tesla Roadster is the first car produced by Tesla Motors and also the first car in a SPACE! Official presentation of it was in 19 July 2006 year in Santa Monica. All our life we have a lot of choices to make. Girls can't decide what to wear even though they have a full closet and boys don't know what to play with a full library. You may not realize it and take all the variety of products as granted but if you ask you parents the world wasn't always as it is today. Sometimes we hear from our parents that ere-now was better but couldn't answer exactly why. All our life we've been told that more choice is better for us but that is wrong and here is why your parents might have been right: Questions: Would you sacrifice choice in favor of bigger satisfaction? Have you ever regretted your choice  although it was good? Will this information change anything in your life?

What is happiness? According to Wikipedia - is a mental or emotional state of well-being which can be defined by, among others, positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy but how do you get it that state? A question everybody asks at least once in life. Mass media loves to show “American dream” life of celebrities and luxury life of newly baked milliners trying to persuade us that is how you can reach happiness. American dream means different things for different people but it is always means “being wealthy” and work hard towards your dream. Have you ever heard about E-Sport? I’m sure you have if you are interested in video games. People found a way to compete in various computer games, and as you can see - it became very popular. E-Sport is a kind of a rivalry - just like a normal sport, but most of the time you don’t use the strength of your muscles, but of your mind. You need to stay focused all the time, think about every move you are going to make and try to “read” the mind of your opponent. There are many games, in which you can compete - FPS, MOBA, MMORPG, Sport games like FIFA, NBA and many others. Right now you can find pro players in almost every multiplayer game. E-Sport in Poland is also big. We have a lot of good teams and players that compete in a various international tournaments.
