Week 12 [13-19.06.2016] Adult Swim - When The Kids Go to Sleep

In this presentation I would like to show You one of my absolute favourites in terms of humour, aesthetics, animation and weirdness - the mighty Adult Swim.   I guess many of you can wonder - what is that? The simplest answer to that is a real cartoon/animation/entertainment network made for (mainly) adult people. The name 'adult swim' comes from areas in the swimming pools where only adults were allowed to swim. The basic idea was to create a night channel for Cartoon Network airing when the main target group is usually asleep. This year we will be having Adult Swim's 15th anniversary and i think it is a good occasion to show you some interesting stuff that aired during that period. 1. Robot Chicken - it's the one of AS's most popular shows featuring action figures and parodying EVERYTHING - from the pop culture to the real world events 2. Rick and Morty - currently the most popular show on Adult Swim telling a absolutely twisted and incredibl

Week 12 [13-19.06.2016] Vinyl Kills mp3 Industry!

IS THAT FOREAL? Yes, this may sound funny, but since the beginnig of 21st century many market researches show that vinyl has it's very own renaissance! But to get y'all know better ye old good black disc i think we can have a brief history of that medium! I think it is quite amazing to know that the invention of analog record discs has it's place in the 19th century! In the beginning, for many many years records were produced from soot or very very hard rubber so of course the quality of the sound wasn't as good as we know it today. But then in the 1940s the new material arrived! It was called Polivinyl Chloride and from that we got our favourite "vinyl" word. So since then this very classy and beautiful medium accompanied the music industry for a very long time and was very popular until there was a NEW, SMALL, MODERN and FANCY medium called Compact Disc or CD :) I can fully understand why then in the 1980 people rushed to buy new music on the shiny

Week 12 [13-19.06.2016] New media art

New media art is a new dimension of art. It’s a combination of many disciplines and new technologies, among others digital art, computer graphics, computer animation, virtual art, Internet art, interactive art, video games, computer robotics, 3D printing etc.  Today  I want to present a few contemporary new media artists. 1. Memo Akten source: http://audiovisualacademy.com/avin/wp-content/uploads/memo_900.jpg Memo Akten is an artist from Istanbul, based in London, UK. His work explores nature, science, technology, culture, ethics, ritual, tradition and religion. Akten is a strong supporter of open-source software and many of his open-source tools and libraries are used globally. He is one of the core contributors to the openFrameworks project, and he gives lectures and workshops around the world. (This year I had the opportunity to listen to his lecture at Resonate Festival in Belgrade). He creates  a lot of amazing interactive installations, for example: Laser Forest (2013)

Week 12 [13-19.06.2016] Video Mapping

source: https://3dvideomapping.files.wordpress.com/2012/02/dsc_7988.jpg Certainly most of you have heard something of video mapping. It’s a new form of video art which is mostly based on the projection mostly on static objects. Very often designers create mappings on buildings or sculptures. Very important tool in video mapping is a projector. Projection must be bright enough to light up a very large object (for example a building). At big and really spatial video mappings there are is used even several projectors.  source: http://www.derivative.ca/Events/2013/ProjectionAdvertising/Images/AdCubes4.jpg A crucial element of good mapping is its synchronization with sound. Good projects bring together a pretty big group of people from musicians who carefully synchronize their work with programmers, animators, and 3D graphics. This project combines the knowledge of graphic programs 2D, 3D, video editing and animation and visual programming. Mappings began to reign at concer

Week 12 [13-19.06.2016] The video Bovskiej - Click - conquers the Internet!

The project “School of music videos” gathers young people from the whole country to create music videos for famous artists this year three awesome videos were created for artists like Vienio, Kortez and Bovska. For Bovska,   young filmmakers created a video called “ Click “ which was officially released a few days ago. via GIPHY Agnieszka Turska, a students of PJAIT, participated in the project and co-created one of   the videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPUbJfc3KPw&feature=youtu.be There are approximately 40 people who participate in such a project.   everyone decides by himself what he/she would like to create.   Each group makes a different video for a different artist. Their task is to put the song’s soul into the video they’re creating. The young filmmakers were supervised by one of the coordinators. All the things you’ve seen in the video were prepared by the ambitious group of 13 people.   The e
