Of course I have experienced this type of storytelling. I play computer games on a daily basis, in addition I like RPG (Role Playing Games). I was especially seduced by the game "The Witcher 3" of the Polish studio, which not only has a well-developed gameplay and graphic aspects, but also the decision-making by the main protagonist (through the player's choices) and then dealing with the results of these choices.
2. How often do you make important decisions?
It seems to me that very important decisions in my life are rare. I'm talking here about examples such as choosing a field of study or choosing an engineering thesis, and similar elements that will further shape my life. However, if we also consider less important decisions, e.g. at work or at the university, they occur a little more often and quite regularly.
3. How do you imagine the future of storytelling?
I think that in the future storytelling (e.g. in games or movies) will be so extensive that literally every little decision will have a clear impact on the behavior and fate of the characters. An interesting variation would be the ability to undo actions taken or something similar to erasing memory. Option to predict the future based on actions taken or predict the behavior of other heroes through our own behavior or the way we communicate with them? There are still many unused themes.
I like it, it gives us freedom of choices and curiosity of doing the opposite when we can see the results of our actions.
2. How often do you make important decisions?
Every decision for me is important, of course some of them have bigger impact but my opinion is that our small decisions have later big impact on this bigger decisions.
3. How do you imagine the future of storytelling?
I imagine them as something we cannot see in movies or read in books because we will write our own story.
1. You can experience such storytelling in various games, usually it is not very expanded, as this game seem to be structured based on this kind of storytelling. The answer is yes, but I'm sure sure until what extend.
2. It highly depends on what important decisions are. If it comes to life-changing decisios it is usually every few years I think. Decisions that may affect few next days or so are usually made every week or so.
3. I think the future of storytelling is to adapt it to real life as much as possible, as there would be almost infinite amount of choices that differ from each other. Possibly it could be implemented with some advanced AI, but it could take ages probably.
2. I always make a decision. As we all make decisions - big and small. Every decision, even the smallest one, has some influence on something that will happen or not, and even on other decisions. Decisions play very important roles in our lives and we must make them fully consciously and properly. Although we don't always succeed.
3. It's hard for me to imagine the future of storytelling, but I think it will be something new, experience from a different angle. I am very curious how it will look later.
2. Every day we make important decisions – we decide to eat and nourish our bodies instead of dying of starvation, we decide to walk across the street when the green light is on instead of jumping in front of a truck. Each and every one of our decisions is important – after all, with each of them we write our own story.
3. I still think the role of making choices instead of watching someone else doing them will be increased. Even now we can see the examples of interactive storytelling with special Netflix movies where you occasionally decide the fate of the main protagonist.
Yes. I do sometimes play games which has complex stories without easy decisions where everything is in shades of gray rather than black or white. I really enjoy it taking part in such stories.
2. How often do you make important decisions?
Not that often. Decisions considered life changing are made every few years in my life i think.
3. How do you imagine the future of storytelling?
I think it will grow bigger and gibber and future storytelling will be more and more complex as the world is becoming more complex.
Unfortunately, or even the fortunes don't. I don't play computer games, so I don't know much about it. Even as a little girl, I wasn't involved in this topic.
2. How often do you make important decisions?
I am at the point of life where I am thinking about leaving everything and moving into the world, or staying in Poland and changing my life. Now is the time.
3. How do you imagine the future of storytelling?
I really like the form my mother did when I was little. And that's how I associate stories with any kind of story.
2. There was a time, that I was fascinated a bit with butterfly effect. If I'd include it, in this question, then we all do important decisions all the time. If we go for more 'realistic' approach, then I think I rarely make important decisions at all. It probably works out for me well, as I feel like I usually make wrong life decisions.
3. I really enjoy storytelling mentioned in video. I also like tabletop RPG a lot, which we may call 'better version' of video games with decisions. Right now what we're served in for example Detroid: Become Human, gives 'fake' feeling of making decisions. It's still much better than in competition (Until Dawn or Telltale Games) because some of our actions really matter but in the end, there's some main path which we have to follow in one way or another. I wish, that in future, there were games using virtual reality and AI, to the extent where everything feels real and we can become anyone, anywhere. I doubt it will be in our lifetime though.
2. I believe, every decision you make matters, so - every day.
3. I think, future storytelling will be committed to a complete iteration with the story listener.
2) I guess every person makes almost everyday decisions that can change their entire life. I am not any exception here.
3) I think that with time passing every storytelling gets more and more intense. No matter if it's movie, book or game. They includes more action and more and more extremes in it. People want controversy and strong impressions.
2) I think that every decision is important. Little decisions, less important, provide us to bigger, more important.
3) As it was mentioned in video, it will become an art. For sure, there are no any doubts.
