In the past, tattoos meant something bad. Firstly, they were used in old rituals in a lot of cultures in the world but after a long time they were allowed to prison subculture. Nowadays, everything has changed. People are having a lot of small and huge tattoos because they look nice and they are trendy. It’s very easy, you have to book visit in a tattoo studio and pick your pattern or inspiration and experienced tattooists can make the best version of your vision on your body. Have you ever thought about how tattoos are made? How tattooist device looks like? Everything is in my TED presentation.

  1. Do you have you tattoo/tattoos? If yes, how many of them?
  2. What do you think about tattoos at work? Should tattoos be allowed to be shown in places of work?

1.Do you have you tattoo/tattoos? If yes, how many of them?
Yes, I have 3 tattoos, but over time they will be much more.

2.What do you think about tattoos at work? Should tattoos be allowed to be shown in places of work?
People with tattoos are immediately visible in the crowd. I like when the body is decorated with different patterns. I don't know why people have to hide , it's art. Many employers have begun to allow tattoos to be shown.

3.What is more outrageous in your opinion, tattoos or body piercing?
Me acceptable and piercings and tattoo. Everyone has the right to do what he wants with his body.
I do not have any tattoos for one simple reason: I do not have the money for those that I want. I have a concept of the set of mine I will certainly get some day, with a specific type of paint and drawing style. There are not many masters that possess required technique, one of them works in LA ink, in Los Angeles. The queue to that master is scheduled for several years ahead, so you can imagine what will be the price. And the result.

I’m being negative for tattoos. Tattoos are for people who want disfigure own body. It’s not beautiful and I deeply convinced someone will not agree with me. Someone say that’s art – just no. It’s irresponsible, reckless behavior. I consider tattos in work shows with who we will make deal. I will never lead business with someone unpredictable. Today he make new tattoo and tomorow he will ruin my work, no thanks. I just accept earring.

Unfortunetly I don't have any tattoos. I want to have few on my arm and back but didn't have time to make them.

I think that tattoos should be allowed in place of work. Nowadays many people have tattoos and it's not like they are really awful. It's just type of art that makes people express themselves and sometimes lift their confidence up. I think everyone who have tattoos shouldn't hide them in public. What do you think about that? Would you like to have a tattoo and If so would you show it to the public?

Well I don't like when someone have this big circle earings and they take them off because their ear look really awful because of that but I don't mind tattoos or piercing so I would say none of them are outrageous. Do you find any of them outrageous?
Do you have you tattoo/tattoos? If yes, how many of them?
Yes, I have one, but its hidden and I'm thinking about next small tattoo.

What do you think about tattoos at work? Should tattoos be allowed to be shown in places of work?
It's okay for me , I like tattoos and I don't see anything bad with it . There is a lot of beautiful tattoos, so if any tattoo don't insolt anybody, for me people should to show their tattoos.

What is more outrageous in your opinion, tattoos or body piercing?
I don't like steeped piercing, it's depence from taste.
I accept only earrings in ears.
Unknown said…
Nope, none so far but I thought about that for some time unfortunately never had a courage to actually do one.
I don't see how tattoos should affect your work. Appearance shouldn't be a parameter if it's not directly your work.
Have no idea why some people may find it somehow offensive... IMHO it's your personal choice.

I have no tattoos, maybe someday I will. My attitude to this is serious, this is what will stay with me for the rest of my life. Therefore, if there is a reason, I will get a tattoo.
We live in the 21st century, every third person has tattoos, so I can be sure that tattoos are treated well. I do not think that its presence can somehow hinder if everything is fine in my head.
I do not resent any of this. This is the choice of everyone. But the piercing is sometimes very scary.

I don't have any tattoos, and I don't think I'll ever make one. I don't say tattoos are bad, I just don't like them at all. Some of them look good, but this is still not for me. For me, tattoos at work are okay, as long as i.e. a lady from kindergarten doesn't have a skull tattooed on her neck. I think it really depends on the workplace. It's really hard for me to say whether I prefer tattoos or body piercing. In my opinion, it can look nice as long as it's aesthetic.
Yes, I have two tattoos. But if I had more money, I would probably had more.

I have no concerns about tattoos at work. I guess mostly they should be allowed at work, but if you would like to be a president and you have tattoo covering 50 % of your face it may look that you are not serious candidate.

One of my favorite saying : 'there should be a balance'. Personally, I don't really like piercing, I'm just not seeing how it can be beautiful while tattoos can really look awesome.

Yes, I have one tattoo. It’s a small geometric head of owl at my back part of leg. I have some ideas for new tattoos and now I collecting money for them.
Now at my work no one know that I have tattoo, because I always wear trousers. I think that tattoo should be allowed to be shown in places of work. In my opinion tattoo can’t interfere with work. Almost always you can hide your tattoo with clothes. But making tattoo on fingers it’s weird for me.
I'm fine with both the tattoo and the piercing. But I don’t think that I ever make piercing.
1. Do you have tattoo/tattoos? If yes, how many of them?
No, I don't have any tattoos but I am not saying that I won't make one or two in the future.
2. What do you think about tattoos at work? Should tattoos be allowed to be shown in places of work?
In my opinion it depends on a tattoo and a job position. If tattoo is not on your face I don't see a reason why it should be covered, however if your tattoo is offensive I think it shouldn't be shown at work.
3. What is more outrageous in your opinion, tattoos or body piercing?
I like both but everything must be done with good taste. It is not hard to go from some tattoos to whole body coverd with ink.
I have similar thing with piercing. I pierced my ear some years ago and till now I pierced it 3 more times. I am still thinking about the next one but I am stoping myself to not to overdo.

I don't have any tattoos, I have tattoo studio placed near my home and sometimes I wonder if I could get one, but I think that the fact that it's permanent and that there is a possibility that I won't like it in the future for example terrifies me to much.
I think that they should be allowed, but maybe in some jobs they could be inappropriate just like some clothes, it just depends how you want to be perceived.
In my opinion, each of them are outrageous when you have too much of them, but personnally I prefer tattoos.
I don’t have tattoos and I think if person want to do tattoo it's his/her own decision and life and another people can't judge his/her for that. I can't understand why at the work it's banned, maybe with time something will change. Maybe, the main reason is that people with tattoos are associated with prisoners or unpredictable people. For me none of them are outrageous, because it's their life and they can do whatever they want.
Unknown said…
I do not have tattoos and I do not intend to do them, I think that while we are young it looks nice but what if we have family already or we will be grandparents and we will have an old body, I'm not for that.
I think that tattoos at work should be hidden, although there are works in which they are even required, such as bartenders or waiters in clubs.
Definitely body piercing, people sometimes pierce their earrings in such absurd places that it does not fit in the head
Unknown said…
1. No, I don't have any tattoos.

2. I believe that tattoos should be allowed to be shown in places of work. Tattoos are quite similar to clothes. Tattoos and clothes can tell a lot about the person. There are some jobs that require a certain dress code so it is only fair that there are jobs that also have some requirements about the tattoos. Just think about it.

3. It's difficult to compare one with the other. It's like comparing books with movies. There are many great books, but there are also many great movies. It is only a medium. It should be valued by its contents and not by its form.

1. No, I don’t have any tattoos. That is why I have 0 tattoos.

2. Personally it doesn’t matter for me. We have some people with many tattoos at work and nobody thinks it’s bad.

3. I think body piercing.
Unknown said…
1) No. No, I do not. I am not interested to have one.

2) There is nothing wrong with it. People can do whatever they want. If we take worker "A" who has a body fully covered in tattoo and he is a good person and hardworker versus worker "B" who has 0 tattoo and good for nothing. It is easy to choose who you want in your company more.

3) I choose piercing but it is just my preference.

I don't have any tattoo, it's like tuning a ferrari :D
Tattoos at work do not bother me, unless they offend someone's views or religion.
Neither tattoos nor body piercing is outrageous to me, because I see nothing wrong with this, if someone likes it, why not
I don’t have any tattoos. That being said, I don’t rule out the possibility of having one in the future.

I think I’ll answer the second and third question at once — for me, it’s all matter of aesthetics, very much like clothing. Dressing in overly outrageous or provocative clothes is not allowed or at least not well perceived. The goal of allowing or disallowing certain aspect of outer appearance is to avoid making coworkers uncomfortable. For me, tattoos fall into the same criteria.

Subtle, elegant and aesthetic tattoos are like jewellery, they allow people to better express themselves. Vulgar and pretentious tattoos, on the other hand, are aggressive and outrageous and most often don’t serve as self-expression of their owners, but as a means of insult and a result of narcissism. I wouldn’t like to work with someone who looks like Popek but I have absolutely no problem working with people with elegant tattoos.
1. Do you have you tattoo/tattoos? If yes, how many of them?
I have no tattoo, and in the future, maybe if I want to keep a some history of my life on my skin, I will do it.

2. What do you think about tattoos at work? Should tattoos be allowed to be shown in places of work?
I think tattoos are not bad. However, if you work with children, this is not acceptable for obvious reasons, for example, an animator at Disneyland.

3. What is more outrageous in your opinion, tattoos or body piercing?
Of course, the body piercing. In my opinion, it doesn't even look beautiful, but also strange.
Unknown said…
I do not have any tattoo. I always wanted to do a tattoo, but I always lacked the courage to make this step.

It all depends on where the man works and what his tattoos look like. If someone has any vulgar tattoos and they are additionally visible at the first meeting, I think that such a person should not work on a high management position. It's just a bad company's drive.

Body piercing is much worse than tattoos. I think tattoos are a great addition to our body while body piercing is something horrible.
Piotr Ciesla said…
No, currently I have no tattoos. I don’t plan any in near future.
Well I really depends on the work. For example princess in DisneyWorld is not supposed to have any tattoos in visible places. But if you are for example barist it’s ok to have tattoos at least for me. It all ends up in employer opinion.
Again it depends on what tattoo and what piercing we are talking about. For example earrings are not outrageous, small fern on the back isn’t outrageous. But forehead piercings, eyebrows piercing, large skull on shoulder are many not outrageous but hummm less acceptable.

Do you have you tattoo/tattoos? If yes, how many of them?
Not yet. I'll be doin' one in the near future. :)
What do you think about tattoos at work? Should tattoos be allowed to be shown in places of work?
Hmmm.. as long as they are not offensive it's okay. I think that tattoos in controversive visable parts of your body are not okay (head, face). In any other case it's really okay, it's your body, you're beeing yourselve, you express what you like cause you're free in XXI century :v
What is more outrageous in your opinion, tattoos or body piercing?
None. As long as it's estetic and good looking I have no problem with tattoos nor piercing.

I think that it's really cool in the modern world we can decorate our bodies with art that has significance and symbolism.
Having said that they can be taken too far and people can get the wrong ones and regret it later. It's a serious, significant decision and people take it far too lightly. Spend your money how you like,
whether it's on tattoos or Pokemon cards, but don't hate on others for having different passions
and interests to you. Other people's tattoos are cool and I like hearing the stories.
Even if they just liked the design that is a cool story, too.
i do not have any tattoos, but i have couple of friends that do have tattoos all around their bodies.

Tattoos should not diminish your personal skills when it comes to work.
I would have to go with body piercing's as the more outrageous than tattoo.

I don`t have tattoo, but I think i will make some in the nearest future. I think it is ok to have tattoos at work, because it is simply the way to express yourself. Still I think that some types of tattoos and body piercing are too outrageous and should be hidden in public places.
I have no tattoo and I think that clean body is better that with tattoo. But also I think that sometimes arts with tattoo is very beautiful.

I think that tattoos at work can be but it depends on work. For example we can have tattoo in bar or night club but at office sometimes it make no sense to have tattoo.

More outrageous on my opinion is body piercing but this is not mean that tattoo is good.

2. What do you think about tattoos at work? Should tattoos be allowed to be shown in places of work?
a. Tattoos are perfectly fine for me at work, in my opinion, tattoos do not affect how you work only how you look. I think that tattoos should be allowed to be shown in places of work, but it depends on the place where you work.
3. What is more outrageous in your opinion, tattoos or body piercing?
a. I do not see any difference between tattoos and body piercing, both are perfectly fine for me.

I don’t have any tattoos, but many of my friends do and I’m considering making one in the future. I guess that they have quite strong influence on me, haha. Regarding my opinion, I find them intriguing and beautiful, however I also see that many people fill their whole body with too many no matching tattoos that makes them look just awful and embarrassing.
1. I don't have any. On one hand I would like to have one since I have seen so many that looked interesting to me. On the other hand I just feel like I am not that type of a person. It's hard to explain but a tattoo just doesn't fit my style of life and the way I dress etc.

2. I think that they should be allowed at work as long as they are not offensive. That is sometimes really hard to achieve.

3. I am not sure if any of these two things is outrageous to me. The thing is that tattoos are something I often consider beautiful or interesting. When it comes to body piercing, it just looks ugly to me. No matter what type of piercing it is, even those in ears. However, both of them aren't a problem to me, just one thing looks nice and other one not.
No, I don't.

I think that tattoos in a visible place don't give the best impression of the worker. If somone has a tattoo and is able to cover it under clothes, it doesn't matter. People shoudn't show off them in the place of work, because i personally think that it is lack of respect to the company.

I don’t like both of them. If I had to choose it, however, definitely the piercing is worse...

- I haven't a tattoo.

- I think the human decided to have a tattoo should don't care about the workplace allow people with a tattoo or not, Because I think someone decided to have a tattoo, Exactly he knows what is true or false will happen in his life with this tattoo if hidden or visible.
So In my opinion, workplace rules don't important to compare with someone mentality with a tattoo.

- In my opinion, body piercing more outrageous.

I don't have a tattoo but I don't exclude the possibility of having one. I don't understand why tattoos should be hidden in a workplace as they are part of the someone's life. Unless they show something obscenic, then of course they should be hidden. Neither tattoos nor piercing is outrageous for me.

1) Unfortunatelly, I don't have any :(
I want my first tattoo to have a meaning to me, to some kind of story -> there will be a day, when I came up with an idea and execute my plan ;)

2) If they're not tactless or cantains some restricted image then why not? On the one hand, everybody have the right to do what they want to do but on the other hand, every employer have the right to hire or not hire particular candidate - which mean if they don't like the apperance or think that this apperance could possibly be harmfull to the company they have the right to reject candidate -> It's their company. But in my opinion, if the tattoo don't affect your job you're good to go :)

3)Body piercing -> as for me, it's just disgusting
I don't have any tattoos. Sometimes I'm thinking about getting one but after a while I reject this idea.
It's really strange for me that people have to hide their tattoos in some workplaces. In my opinion tattoos should be allowed to be shown in places of work.
Both the tattoos and body piercing are ok for me and it's difficult to me to choose one thing that is "outrageous". If I could choose something else and call it outrageous it would be definitely scarification.

I have one tattoo and it is not a real one tattoo. I made it with my friend, it is not visible and is really small. But it have a great meaning for me and my friend.
I really like tattoos, and in my opinion it should be allowed to be shown in places of work. I think that is same body decoration as jewellery.
I think that unusual body piercing like in weird places could be more shocking and outrageous.

No, I do not have any tattoos, but I would love to have one. I follow many tattoo artists on Instagram - I love this kind of art. The only two reason that keeps me away from doing the tattoo are:
1. they are very expensive
2. I am not sure, how employers will react
I hope the tattoos will be allowed in every workspace. People should not hide them because of some restrictions.
I think body piercing is more shocking and outrageous.
1.Do you have you tattoo/tattoos? If yes, how many of them?
To my great regret, I have no tattoos. I would really like to make a couple, but there are a lot of moles on my body. And there is not enough space left for the tattoo.
2.What do you think about tattoos at work? Should tattoos be allowed to be shown in places of work?
I think it all depends on the place of work. If a person works in an office where is a mandatory dress code, then it is unethical to demonstrate the tattoo. And it also depends on the profession of a person, it’s one thing if you are a designer with a tattoo and quite another if you are a broker or banker.
3.What is more outrageous in your opinion, tattoos or body piercing?
I do not find outrageous piercings or tattoos. I like both of these ways to express one's personality in an unusual way.

I do have one tattoo, large one. Two more to go soon, and thinking about one more, large one :)
Tattoos definitely should be allowed at work. What's the difference between jewelery or makeup and tattoos? It's just another way to beautify yourself, it's nothing bad. Well, of course if tattoo is offensive or your job position requiring strict dress-code, than maybe it's better to cover it up a bit.
Tattoos and piercing are ok for me. But if we're talking about work, maybe it would be hard for me to concentrate on business if the person will have plugs in cheecks or lips :D

I don't have any tattoos, but I thought about making one. I like art in general, and I met some tattoo artists. These people are really open-minded and easygoing. Some of them produce masterpieces. I'd love to have such a beautiful piece of art on my body.

I think there is no right answer whether tattoos should be allowed to be shown in places of work. It depends. It depends on a type of work, the climate you have at work or in the office in general, other people believes and what tattoos you have. As a programmer, I have nothing against people who have tattoos if they are not offensive.

I think body piercing is more outrageous. But that's just my subjective opinion. I think it the reason behind this might be the fact that most people I know have well-done tattoos and ugly body works. For men, according to my experience there is a very little change that you would look good with any body piercing. My best friend has many of them, but they just suit him, and he is the only one good example I know.

I don't have a problem with them. It depends. For example, I think that tattoos shouldn't be allowed in the army.
For me, more outrageous is body piercing.
1. No, I don’t have any tattoos.

2. In my opinion, tattoos shouldn’t be a problem in the workplace, because in the workplace the most important are our skills and not our appearance.
but I know that there is still a big problem with accepting a tattoo in the workplace.

3. I think that more outrageous are body piercing like corset piercing or a big hole after tunnel piercing.

I don't have, but I want to have one in the future. I just need a good idea.

What do you think about tattoos at work? Should tattoos be allowed to be shown in places of work?

I'm totally okay with that. Tatoos aren't a problem for me, I think it's a personal decision and we should judge people by their look.

What is more outrageous in your opinion, tattoos or body piercing?

Body piercing, I think that no one looks great with it, but I'm not judging anyone :)
I do not have a tattoo, nor plan on getting one, but I have nothing against people that enjoy them. At the same time I have all the right to find some of those tattoos off-putting, and in those cases I usually find it hard to prevent that from affecting how I see the person wearing them. This leads straight into the work question – I don’t mind interacting with people with tasteful tattoos, but the threshold of what different people find tasteful will vary. Therefore it’s hard to judge which tattoos are okay to be shown and which are not. Ultimately I think it’s up to the employer to decide what they want their business to be related to. As to piercing, I am yet to see a piercing that I’d find aesthetically pleasing, so I’d take tattoo over a piercing any day.

No I don't like tattos so I don't own any. I'm not that kind of person who look at people with tattos like for worse or people from jail. Some people have interesting tattos which I find really nice.
What do you think about tattoos at work? Should tattoos be allowed to be shown in places of work?
In my opinon it is good that tattos aren't allowed everywhere. People with some official positions or insitutional jobs shouldn't outstand or have agressive look.
What is more outrageous in your opinion, tattoos or body piercing?
It depends to what extent, but mostly body piercing.

I try to answer your questions by using one small story. I have a personal hairdresser in my city. She dates with boring guy that have a lots of tattoos who works as a tattoo master in the same barbershop. When she was cutting my hair last time she asked me: "Igor, do you want a tattoo with a discount? My boyfriend could do it. And I answered her: "No, thanks, I don't need a tattoo because I have a charisma".

It's hard to say what is more outrageous - tattoos or body piercing because as we know the most outrageous thing is being a stupid person.
Marcin Górski said…
Thank you for your answer. I can't agree with your statement. People are different and tattoos shouldn't determine who are worse or better. It's very hard to make tattoo without thoughts because you are often are waiting a few months for your turn.
Unknown said…
No but I wanna have few one. I like this just minimalistic drawings and just black one.
I think there should be no restrictions on it because it is just another kind of your wardrobe and I don’t like if someone tells other people what they should do and what they should not do because its not good.
I think piercing and not this easy like just ears, I mean this one if people have full body pierced because sometime its too much and also it’s more uncomfortable to live with it.
Marcin Górski said…
Thank you for your answer. I agree with you that tattoo is personal choice and it shouldn't change anything in your job. If you are working as before then why not?
Yes, for now i have 2. I made them mostly as they mean something to me. I think there should be no problem anywhere with it as long as they are just tidy. No hate, no perversity etc. No tattoos on face or hands. But for that, i can't see anything why tattoos should be banned anywehere. For me neither of them is outragous. Everything is ok as long as its healthy, estetic and harmless.

1. I don't have any tatoos but I want to do one! But I don't know what it could be so I'm waiting with such decision when I will be sure what I should tattooed.
2. I think that it depends what it is. It will be hard to be on hight position in a company when you will tattooed e.g. a penis on your forehead. But I'm totally fine with normal tattoos. ;)
3. I don't think that in these times that tattoos or body piercing are outrageous for people.
Marcin Górski said…

No, I don't have tattoo yet, but I am thinking about one. I will and see if I am still into it.
I think tattoos are personal choice, and it should be an indicator whether someone get a job or not but there are some types of jobs that requires good appearance and we can't do anything about it.
Definatelly body piercing, I find it way more unnatural than tattoos.

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and natura...

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds...
