Week 8 [03.12-09.12.18] Tesla Roadster

Tesla Roadster

Today I would like to present You the quickest sport all-electric battery-powered car in the world, with record-setting acceleration, range and performance. This wonderful car can get 100 km/h at only 1.9 seconds this makes this car a monster. This speed is quicker than any street legal production car to date at its announcement in November 2017.
Tesla indicates that Roadster sales will begin in 2020 and will be cost about 200 000 dolars (720 thousands zlotych), although not before Tesla Model Y goes on sale.

Design
The second generation Tesla Roadster is a 2 + 2 roadster with removable glass roof and has smaller rear for two passengers. This car has three electric motors, one in front and two at the rear, allowing for all-wheel drive, and torque vectoring during cornering. Tesla said that the vehicle had a 200kWh battery, twice the capacity of the Tesla Model S P100D, and giving a 1000 km range on one charge at highway speeds, Ferrari’s LaFerrari, Lamborghini’s Aventador SV and Bugatti’s Chiron can only manage the distance in 2.4 seconds..

Performance estimates
Tesla claimed the Roadster’s acceleration will be :
·         0 – 97 km/h in 1.9 seconds
·         0 – 161 km/h in 4.2 seconds

Tests
This is Emile Bouret, otherwise knowns as the man with one of the best jobs in the world:

When he was at college, he shared a room with Franz von Holzhausen.
Von Holzhausen went on to become Tesla’s lead designer, and Bouret went on to get to test drive the best supercars in the world, including drifting Musk’s own Roadster back in 2008.
And for the past year, the 2020 Tesla Roadster. At the surprise November launch, it was Bouret’s job to take journalists for a spin.
Bouret has also got into a little bit of trouble since then revealing more about the new Roadster than Tesla is comfortable with, but this week, he was happy to share some thoughts on it with car enthusiasts VINWiki.
He doesn’t go into a lot of detail, but he does say the car is “going to be a proper weapon”. Here’s why:
I know there’s some skepticism about the figures that Elon quoted… and I think can say without getting in trouble that those are actual figures. Those aren’t theoreticals. Those aren’t calculations. We’ve done those numbers. And I probably shouldn’t say that those numbers are even conservative, but they are.
The full video is below, but we’ll start you at the point Bouret begins to talk about how nerdy von Holzhausen and another Tesla test driver Aaron Bailey are in regard to the car’s setup:

Tesla Roadster Vs 2018 Bugatti Chiron

Comments

I would still buy a Bugatti Chiron if I had the choice :)

I just like the design more and I do not care much about planet. Well, I do, but there are limited amount of Chirons in a world and I I am not going to drive one, someone else will. Therefore...

There is still limited amount of petrol in the world, so one day we will be forced to change to electro cars. At it is good that they are developing right now, so that at the point of no return we will have good evolved models.

This is great push forward for car industry in electric luxury car. Actually Teslas first car was roadster and rethinking what modern technology can give you if money is not that big of a consideration. Actually that how I got to know Tesla is that they had been filmed for Discovery channel to show off their first roadster.
I would prefer Tesla, I really like the idea that you don't need to spend a penny for a petrol. On the other side if you buy a car for 200 000 dollars you probably don't care much about petrol. I'm fan of design of Ferrari and and Lamborghini, but still they consume an incredible amount of gasoline. If we want to be a better society we need transfer from internal combustion engines to electric once. What Europe actually does. I guess in few years we'll se electronic versions of Ferrari and and Lamborghini.

I never had a chance to drive Tesla but I think I could have one in the future. Not sure about Roadster but Model X is the one I really like. Tesla Roadster seems to be as impractical as other cars of this type like Porsche 911 or other supercars. But this kind of car is not to go for a family trip but to have fun. Well, kind of expensive toy but still there are people that can easily afford it. Performance of Tesla Roadster seems to be amazing, and the feeling of reaching 100kmh in 1.9 sec. sounds like impossible and it must be awesome to feel it. Personally, I'm not sure if I'd choose Tesla Roadster if I had a choice, but I'd definitely take it to my consideration.

Pretty attractive numbers for an electric car. Tesla, as usual, know how to surprise. This car really has a number of advantages, even if we take into account the fact that it miners pollute the atmosphere of our planet. Well, for the price, as I understand it, this car is more attractive. I would probably choose Tesla.

I would like to have such Tesla Roadster. I'm not really like Bugatti. However, if Tesla really such good for our environment. I recently was watching a video about how much more harmful for environment production of electric cars are vs traditional. You can check it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RhtiPefVzM.

But I still like this new trend in the car industry which Tesla started. Nowadays more and more companies starting their own electrical cars line up.

Also, I would like to admit, even though that Tesla Roadster concept making 0-97 km/h in1.9 seconds it is not the fastest electric car in the world. You can check here tech specs of Rimac C_Two http://www.rimac-automobili.com/en/hypercars/c_two/ which accelerates from 0 to 97 km/h in 1.85 seconds. But the price of it a bit higher than Tesla Roadster (€1,795,532 XD)

I’ve always dreamed about getting a Tesla. At first I thought about getting model s, later on I’ve fell I love with Tesla model 3. But when they’ve announced roadster I’ve completely lost my mind. It is amazing what this car can do. I still believe that Tesla will deliver roadsters on time.
There is one downside of owning a Tesla in Poland... and this is charging stations network. It basically dose not exist ;( . So either he have to own a house or an outlet in garage.

My choice would be tesla. Since I heard about the brand, I dreamed of having one one day. Probably if I bought, I would not choose the Roadster model but would probably choose S or X because it does not need a supercar. Of course, I understand and I would like to have a Bugatti car myself but I think that this is already a waste of money. Returning to Tesla, unfortunately our country Poland is very much backwards when it comes to electrical solutions, which is why we are really stopping the inflow of such techonolgy to our country.
I think that Tesla Roadster is a flagman ship and it always will be show how much performance we can get from electric car compared to petrol car. Even now I have heard about fact that company that has produced the fastest serial car has pasted information on site that this car is fastest compared to serial cars on petrol because there was a comparison between Tesla Roadster as I remember and Tesla get first place on speed.

About Bugatti Chiron I remember marketing company when they say that every time trying to build the fastest car and trying to use all new technologies but they still use petrol engine that on my opinion is weak side of this car :)

One of the cars I would like to have in the garage one day is Tesla, probably it would be Roadster. I have been following Musk's career for a long time and I am looking forward to the results of this car for a long time. Will it be the fastest car in 2020? Can someone do something even more crazy? We'll see ...
The prices in the responders of such a car are unmatched, this Tesla is very cheap compared to what it offers, having such cash, I could not refuse such a car.

So it is a car. Very expensive car. Car that I can't afford. And, at a moment in my life that I actually could (if it ever come) there are going to be other means of transports great to have.
For me, right now car should: be comfortable, have good music system.
Thats all. I drive in Warsaw, so I don't care how fast I could go when I am always stuck in traffic jam.
Also, the insurance cost would be kind of a buzzkill.

Noting special, bunch of crap Chinese electronics. If I had a chance I would like to drive Chevrolet Camaro 1969, dodge charger 1970 or any 60-70 muscle car. However I share same feelings for 80's classics like ferrari testarossa - an icon and dream car for every 80's boy

To my mind Tesla is pushing all car industry forward. First of all it sets new time records, secondly it sets new emission records and the most important it shows the power of AI. Of course there was a situation when Tesla killed a woman but to my mind still this technology is worth exploring.
The design of Tesla is just incredible and I really like it. I do understand that there are lot of cars that look really outstanding(better than Tesla cars do) but they don’t have such combination of design and technologies at once.

The real problem for Tesla is relatively small amount of supercharges and decreasing amount of free chargers.

I really like this Tesla, I would like to have one. But if I had the opportunity to choose between Bugatti and Tesla, I would have decided on Bugatti. But Tesla Roadster is an unbearable car and sooner in the future I could buy than Bugatti Chiron, because the price is much lower in Tesla or even the availability (I think it is easier to buy Tesla than Bugatti)
I’m pretty sure that this will end as a great and innovative car that once again tries to push boundaries of modern technology. But I’m a wee bit concerned about current state of Tesla. I haven’t read a lot about them but I’ve seen some unpopular decisions like Elon Musk resignation from being a CEO. Also they still have problems with production of Model 3 which was supposed to be fully released in 2017

I haven't heard about this model yet but it looks amazing. I'd love to have an oportinity to drive one of these cars. When I first heard about Tesla Model S I was very excited but this model is even more technically advanced. I must admit that Tesla is one of my dream car, previously it was Model S but now it has changed. If I have to choose between Tesla and Bugatti Chiron I can't decide. Bugatti is more prestige in my opinion and it has much better noise. On the other hand tesla has better acceleration and it is ecological.
I was really stunned by the announcement of Tesla Roadster. I think, it's beautiful and innovative car. Of course, Roadster is a so called super-car and respectively price tag is very big but still I like it and think that Tesla beats Bugatti. I have driven Tesla Model S once and its ineffable emotions. I hope in the near future qualitative and fast e-cars will become cheaper and everyone will be able to have one.
I always look at all of this cars and just imagine what if I could buy one. Unfortunately, only horrible rich people can afford to buy such car.
Those cars are awesome so comparing them is really hard. Both of them are extremely fast and luxurious. The only different I see is that Tesla is an electric car. To be honest, electric cars are still new technology and a lot of problems may come with it. Cars like Bugatti are ‘classic’ supercar and are a lot more stable.
Personally, if I could choose one of those cars, I would choose Bugatti. Only because it has more dependable engine. Maybe in few years everything will change and electric cars will become something you would have to have.

Tesla is very trendy topic nowadays. People are still talking about that. As you explain in your presentation, this model will be very fast and beautiful. Additionally, there is two minuses, Polish streets and country are not ready for electric cars. Second thing is fact that it will be too expensive for me unless that I will win on lottery! Thank you for your presentation :)

I've read a lot of positive reviews and opinions about Tesla's electric cars in particular about Tesla Model S. Many people on the Internet consider this car the best American car ever produced in the US considering specs and price point. Although, I'm not sure if it's still not too early to buy an electric car in Europe especially in eastern parts. For urban areas, cars like Tesla S are a perfect choice but my biggest concern is long-range traveling. It's easier to find the nearest gas station than an electric outlet when you're far away from city or suburbs. Even though you could technically charge your car on a gas station but it would take you quite a time to charge enough to continue your ride. For sportscar like Tesla Roadster it may won't be such big of a deal (because not so many people will use to travel between cities) but still, there are a lot of questions surrounding costs of maintenance.
Definitely prefer tesla, does not differ from other sports cars.
The car has a really good acceleration, it meets all ecological standards as well
does not emit exhaust fumes. On the other hand tesla can easily catch fire. Unfortunately, every car
equipped with electronics is exposed to it. Despite the small defect, I think the car is perfect
I like Tesla cars so much. My favorite one is Tesla Model X. Tesla is pushing the AI technologies in their cars and as an AI developer I could not hate them.
And I heard about Tesla Roadster yet. I was watching the live stream when Tesla announced this beautiful piece of art: incredible performance, gorgeous design and of course technologies.
But for this price, I will probably choose Lamborghini Huracan over Tesla Roadster.
Fine car. It is the future car. Very strong advertizing campaign. This brand is known around the world. Everyone knows what is Tesla, and everyone wants Tesla. It is not surprising that this car is recognized as one of the fastest cars in the world. Also I ask you to notice, it is not the ordinary engine of internal combustion. Let's remember physics, electrons quickly run. Now and cars quickly go. It should be noted that the company was on the verge of bankruptcy, but they managed to resist.
"The Tesla company has really faced serious threat because of the increased Model 3 output. In fact, the company threw away money as the madwoman. And if we have not solved these problems during very short period of time, We had to be closed. And these problems were extremely difficult to be solved." - Elon Musk has said. And actually, it is one of those few cases when everything managed to be made top-level. Bravo Tesla! Bravo Elon Musk!

I think that Elon Musk showed a lot of people that actually you can achieve big things if you are brave enough and believe in yourself. For me Tesla is example of a company, which doesn't have any boundaries - as you can see their cars are very fast, innovative and I also think that they just look good. I hope that they will succeed even more and electricity powered cars will be more popular than they're right now. I don't see any disadvantages for them, and the future for electric cars is very bright. I would love to drive a car like this in the nearest future, but I'm afraid that they're not so popular in our country.
As you could see in my presentation about mx5 im in love with cars like these. Altough i love sound of petrol engine instant power delivery with maxed out torque is amazing. It is so insane how quick those cars are. If i could have one. Oh man. If only this price was lower and availibility was just a little bit higher then what we had experienced with model 3. Still i think its awesome project.

I saw a lot of presentations about Tesla on our blog but I have to admit that I really like this car. I was driving Tesla one year ago and it was awesome experience! Design, technologies used to produce this car and speed of electric engine... Something awesome! I hope that they will be able to make better batteries for some year when I will be able to buy such a car! :D
I would love to own a Tesla. I like it's modern design and innovative solutions. The idea of owning electric car is also appealing to me. However, i have to admit that, generally speaking , I am not that interested in cars. I believe that in future I won't need to use car that often mostly because of public transportation improvements in my city. I would buy such expensive car only if I was really stable financially.

To be honest - both of these cars are amazing and beautiful, but if I were given a chance to pick Chiron or Tesla - I would definitely pick Chiron. It's a majestic car and I love the steampunk interior. You know, Tesla is also great with its new technologies etc, but Bugatti is something else for me.

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and naturally.
