Week 5 [12-18.11.2018] Why Do You Need A Website For Your Business?

About 45% of businesses do not have a website. Additionally, 80% of website owners don’t keep their websites up-to-date. Don't waste your time, be better than your competitors.

To stay competitive,  you need to provide not only high-quality services, but your website must be perfect. Unfortunately, a large number of these websites are poorly designed or come straight from a WordPress template - this is not how you can stand out or get ahead.

First impression matters. Online impressions are first impressions. Just take a look on your website and ask yourself: Do i want to buy something from them? Do i need to stay here or to continue searching?

What’s about visualization? Strong visuals and a clean, organized design lend legitimacy to a website. These elements can also help establish trust in your brand, which is especially important if your website is trying to convert a sale.
Clean & well-structured design is equal to quality of your projects. It is not a secret! Importance of information, mobile-friendly design, easy to understand calls-to-action - the main things that will give you more customers.

Also, Effective feedback has benefits for the giver, the receiver, and the wider organization.

So, why do we need to have a personal website/website for business?

It makes you money

Every second business owner mentioned, that amount of leads you have daily depends on how marketing works on your website. Even with a short, but right description you can have UP TO 50x leads daily just because of the heading.

Awareness of your brand

The algorythm is pretty simple: the more people learn about your brand, the more people start to trust you; the more people trust you, the more leads and recommendations you get
.
 Customer service improvement
Offering a quick response to a customer service on your website with any regularly asked questions, is a great way to avoid paying labour costs and phone bills. Also you need to provide a feedback section to understand if your customer is super happy or not.

No, I don't have my own business, but If I had an idea then I would probably dare to try.
I think that nowadays most people who do freelancing, blogging or any other online activity related to creating content or giving some kind of service tend to think of themselves as entrepreneurs and try to make people perceive them as a brand. So I don't think that creating a personal brand will help you to stay out of the crowd (if that's why you want).
Yes, business should have a website, because these days it's one of the best ways to create awareness about your brand. But most business these days do not focus much attention on their websites rather they spend more time updating feeds on social media. Most people do not browse the internet that much today. Many of us spend 90% of our time online scrolling throw Facebook or Instagram, so it makes more sense for businesses to promote themselves on those platforms.

I don’t directly have my own business but I do work in my dad’s car workshop and except being mechanic I try to take care about our website or google profile. I’m also thinking about setting my own business but as for now I’m doing research.
Believe me or not but taking into consideration our workshop, that whole personal branding is a peace of shit. People sometimes even forgot to take care about business but only about brand. My dad started business by being a good mechanic and after many years we have few mechanics working for us and we don’t have to care about brand or website too much. People simply know that our service have high quality and they recommend us when someone is asking.
Of course it depends on the area where your business is but remember to care about being loyal, honest and do your best. Later you can think about website. Nowadays people have changed this order and they don’t succeed.
1. Do you have business? If not, do you want to set up a new one?
No, I don’t have. I am very open to setting up my own business whenever I happen to come up with an idea I find decent.

2. What do you think about a personal brand? Do you think it will help you to stay out of the crowd?
Personal brands help staying out of the crowd. From the customers’ perspective it is very important whether they can feel a personal connection to a brand or not.

3. What is your opinion about a personal website for your business: do we need it?
The more detailed and eye-catching the website is, the more recognition it will gain in potential customers’ eyes. Additionally getting customers interested may very likely result in them sharing it with friends. As we know, recommendation is a best form of marketing these days.

1. No, I do not have a business, but I would like to try in the future. I think it would be a small software house.

2. I do not think that this would have a strong influence on the fate of this type of business since this is not a product, but a firm that produces other products for clients under other brands.

3. Definitely, it's good to have a website for your business. This has many advantages, for example, actual company news, a convenient contact form for clients, a list of services, a description of the company and much more. Additionally, visiting websites, the client can easily make a comparison of the firms and choose one that satisfies his needs.

1. Do you have business? If not, do you want to set up a new one?
No, I don't have a business yet, but I'm in the process.

2.What do you think about a personal brand? Do you think it will help you to stay out of the crowd?
Personal brand is a very important part of business.Personal brand is a very important part of the business, If you are the owner of the company, your brand becomes an element of the image of the company. The right image will greatly increase the competitiveness of your business projects. Remember Steve Jobs. It is thanks to him that the Apple brand has become so strong.

3. What is your opinion about a personal website for your business: do we need it?
Now is the time that everyone needs a website. The website is the face of any modern company. This is an opportunity to express themselves, to talk about the company, its competitive advantages, its products, services, terms of cooperation.
Do you have business? If not, do you want to set up a new one?
I do have a business associated with the software development.

What do you think about a personal brand? Do you think it will help you to stay out of the crowd?
I think personal branding is an ongoing process which should result in becoming recognizable in the mind of others. Of course, as long as you stay consistent while managing your brand, then it will be eye-catching for more and more people.

What is your opinion about a personal website for your business: do we need it?
I think yes, we do need a personal website for our business and it is because a growing number of our potential customers are using the internet to look for companies which offer services they need - if we do not have a website, they won't find us (or they will have a limited amount of information about our business from other sites).
I totally agree with you about social medias like facebook or instagram, it's a good way how to promote your business.
Doing research is a good thing when you are young, you are moving in a right way, for sure. What about your dad's workshop, it is really interesting business you are working in, keep it up, with our technologies now you can help your dad to make more money by selling services even in social medias.
What do you mean by "decent idea"?
Agree with your opinion about comparison factor. It is really important thing when you have options to choose.
Nice to see that you mentioned Steve Jobs as arch-founder of personal brand for business.
Can you share, please, your business website or any presentation? I'm interested in services that you provide!
I do not have my own business, but I would like to have one in the future.
I believe that you should not only be visible on the market, but also run your website at a high level. For example, I recently ordered the transport of tiles by a courier company. The website was quite nice, but it was impossible to call the given phone number, which made a very bad impression on me. Website is our business card. In my opinion, you have to allow customers to contact and be able to present their offer to them somewhere. At present, there is no need to spend large financial resources on presentation and marketing. Many companies use the opportunities offered by social media such as Facebook.
A website could be the only evidence of your business existence in the world in the first place. You may not have a huge office or nothing at all just work from your apartment. But the website is practically the only thing that should give customers a summary of what services they could get here. Like, seriously, how do you even going to communicate with customers and present your list of services?
Unfortunately, I don't have my own business. But with some time, I want to set up it. Main reason of this is that I don't want work for someone and I think some people agree with me. Personal brand it's always good way to be unique and that's could help to stay out of the crowd similar brands. Need or don't need website for business depends on what is the business, because not all businesses need it. But if it's some shop, hotel or service I think website is very important. Because you need to compete with others or business can go bankrupt.

I don’t have one. I think that I don’t have enough knowledge to start new (successful in future) business. I have to gather lot more knowledge and experience in order to launch what I actually want. I’ve tried launching some start ups in the past, but all they’ve failed(I just assume that this is experience).

Marketing is extremely important in order to get new customers but you should never forget that 20% of your clients make 80% of your income so I would rather focus on making your service as good as possible for your current clients and only then focus on gathering new one. If someone recommend you to their friends it will most likely add new reliable client so focus on it.

I would say that we do need a website but only when our brand is really huge.

I had a business in the past and I had a website for that business.Designing and maintaining a website related to the business of a person will have a huge impact on the visitor and its customers.
Having a good website will make your products better and communicate more closely with the customer, a comprehensive website with enough information to attract the customer, and on the contrary, a bad design website or false or misleading information will cause a loss. Giving customers and may even lead to the failure of that business.
I think anyone can open a website to start a small business.

I do not have a working business yet, but it is at the development stage.
I do not have a personal brand, so far. I'm not going to create a brand for the sale of goods, I want to provide services. And more specifically to be a person who helps people find objects for work.
I am sure that your personal brand will help to create a product or service, if you do not copy someone else's, but create something of your own.
This is a very relevant topic for me since I decided to save time and create a website - a business card on WIX, but after a while, it seemed to me that this site is not high enough for a site that I want to trust. But since my budget is limited, it’s possible to start with such templates is not a bad option. But to provide services without any site in our time is impossible. Since the site serves as information about the company, there you can see what services are provided, read about the company itself, read reviews of people who have already used the services. In general, the site in our time must have.

I dont have my own business. I want to work for a few years in some companies to see how this line of work is managed. After having some experience I would like to set up my own business but not something in world scale, just a small business that will be able to pay my bills.

I think if your brand creates good product and is well organized and well leaded it will stay out of the crowd. It's really hard to be seen by a customers and you need to make good on many things.

Nowadays almost every business has its own website. It's because when people are looking for something they always go on google and there won't be some campaign literature but company's website. I think if a company is or want to be big and grow even more they should make their own website so people could find them.

I don't have my own business for now. I would like to gain some experience by working for other people and then create something mine. In my opinion, it's very important to see how various companies work from the inside. What's good and what's wrong.

I think the personal brand is a good way to be unique and stay out of the crowd.

In my opinion personal websites are important. Especially when we put an effort into the process of creation. The eye-catching sites might interest various of people about our brand/person.
No i don't have my own business and i never wanted one. For me it's to much stress and responsibility to create and mantain one. But if i ever wanted one i would defenitely invest in good website which is like biggest business card of a company. It makes first impression which is crucial and nowadays most people starts research in web. So, if they manage to find your website then make sure it will keep them interested. If you have bad website then how your products or services can be good. It is simple as that if you aske me.

I don`t have my own business, but I think I will have one in the nearest future. I have friends who have already offered me to start a business, but I feel that I am not experienced enough to handle all responsibility that I could face with once I will start one.
Creating new personal brand is good way to start a business, but, to my mind, if it won`t get a good advertisement and won`t become popular, otherwise it could fail and I might lose all driving force and won`t even think in the direction of opening own business.
Personally, I do not have my own business, but I know someone who does. At the moment I don't need my own business, but in the future, if you want to achieve something more then usual worker, then you have to run something yours. I want too. It's the same with a lot of things. If you have something that belongs to you, you don't have to ask for anything, just take it, because it's yours! With business, I think, it's the same. You are your own boss and only you are responsible for everything. But what makes your business keep running? Customers of course. You need to have customers to remain yourself on the market. Regardless of old customers, you need to win new clients over. And here, websites are extremely important. Nowadays, everyone has an access to the internet on their computers, smartphones, etc. Everyone has the possibility to check your brand on the internet, and I totally agree, that when they look at your website, their first look will be significant.

While i was big dreamer about starting my own business im no longer, i feel like starting your career with a business is worst thing you can do nowadays. I want to learn from already successful businesses first then asses if its worth my time to start one on my own, and the space is so competitive nowadays it might not even be worth it.
As for businesses not owning sites thats a bummer nowadays, time and money resources needed to upkeep a website is minimal and it provides you with broader customer base anytime, there weer many good businesses in my area that went out of business because they weren't "online", as for personal site emm maybe if your profile would benefit from it, like most art designers have one to provide online portfolios.
For now I don't have any business. Probably in the future I would like to have some kine business.
It depends on the area in which you would like to be noticeable and your current experience. If, for example, you are interested in trading or some kind of service like notary or insurance than ofcource you must have your own name. In IT field it works a bit different. The experience/education is crucial. You can spend hours designing you CV but if you have lack of experience most likely it will take some tome to find a job.
In my opinion, having a web site is a plus. Especially if you know that some people are going to google you.

The people who want to found their own business should answer couple questions before they start. For example: "Do I have an abilities and skill for managing my own company?", "Am I ready to wait 3-5 years before my business turns profit?", "Am I ready to take a lot of loans from banks for my business?", "Do I know that many businesses are failing up and that I'm not special lucky person for avoiding that risk?". I answered that questions and realized that I'm not ready. Maybe I will always be a "second pilot" and this role is suit to me. We will see.

Do you need website for your business? I'm not sure, I think it depends on type of business and it's life cycle. But it's always nice to have a good website. It's like a good watch, business card or mobile phone. These things could impress your business partners.

I don't understand question about personal brand. Your personal brand is your mind, intelligence, behavioral and charisma. So I'm already have it.

I also agree with Nazar that nowadays most popular restaurants, pubs, bars or fitness clubs does not have websites. They use facebook fanpages instead. It's quite obvious, because it's easier, cheaper and quicker to run such a thing instead of website.

I don’t have my own business but I often help in my father business. Thanks to that my father has his own company I want to make my own small business but not yet. First of all I want to finish my study and then I will think about my own brand. It’s my dream to have my own brand witch will be very popular and I don’t expect that it will help me to stay out of the crowd.
Personal websites are very good idea because people at home can very fast find out what your company offers but in my opinion more needed is very good positioning and actual information in google because people learn the most from „Uncle GOOGLE”.

No, I don't and I don't want to create any right now, but I do have an open mind about that.

It depend on situation and type of business. If we are leading small grocery shop in petite village, creating own website would be waste of money.

No I don’t have my business. Maby in a couple of months I will considering making my own company. Well definitely personal brand will help you to stand out of the crowd. If your website is nice and tidy it well be something like cv. But do you need it I think if you really put your heart and effort to it then it will pay off. More offers will come in. It will be easier to find you for new customers.
At the moment I don’t have any business but someday I would like to create one. But first of all I need to get some experience in my area of specialization and then think of an idea that will be actually worth investing in. In my opinion personal brand is very important part of business and determinates how people recognize your company and with what it’s associated. If we are talking about website, I think it is absolutely mandatory for every business that wants to mean something. Looking just at myself I know that if I am looking for literally anything first thing, I do is checking it out on internet and usually depending on what I find and what looks most promising for me is my choice. So, this is first impression and after I bought a thing or a service from them then I’m looking on all the other things.

I don't have a business, and I don't think I'll ever set a new one up, but it's not entirely out of the question - it might happen one day. As for having a personal brand, it definitely helps someone stay out of the crowd, as it gives people something unique to associate you with. Business should absolutely have a personal website - nowadays, if I want to see more about a company, the first thing I will look for is the company's website. While it is possible to get by without a website, the internet is one of the first places where people go to to look for information, and if you don't have a website, then the only way for people to find out more about your company is to look at what other people have posted about you.

Yes, I have my own business, I opened my cafes and I am very happy about it, I would not open anything else. I am most in favor of making everyone make their own brand. I think you can stay away from the crowd if you want.
now everything is based on the internet and I think that every company should have its website and I need it.
I don’t have my own business right now but I had in the past — and it had a website. I’m not planning to restore it or start a new one up.

I think building a strong personal brand is very important, especially in a field of work that requires a lot of competition. Having a recognizable brand helps people to stay out, have influence and find a better job.

I think modern businesses need to have a personal website in order to be successful. I agree with all the points presented in your article.

1. I don't have a business yet but in the nearest future I plan to set up a new one. It would be a one employee company because I am programmer and when I graduate my studies I will prefer to work on b2b rather than on labour contract.

2. I think that it helps a lot to have a personal brand. It is hard to draw somebody's attention to our products and I think that a personal brand it is step to make it possible.

3. Personal website of our business is necessary. We have to be conscious that without it we are doomed to fail.

1. I don't have my own business. I'm working right now in corporation, it's not bad actually. But if only I had a chance, money and time and knowledge I would like to start my own business. But here's a problem. I would like to have breeding of tarantulas to sell them and I'm studying Information Management. I like my work now, the money is good, responsibilities and tasks too. Here is conflict between hobby and earning good money.

2. Never though about opening my own brand, but if I were and had a good idea it would help me. Good idea of business is a key to success. Something creative + good marketing are making business running and earning. Since I have no idea that is different than others I prefer to work in my corpo than risking my money. All I want is just stable, quiet life.

3. In these days? It's obligatory! You don't have your own website or facebook fanpage = you don't exist. That's simple.

- Yes, I do have my own business. It is a one person IT company, I created it to deliver software to under companies.

2. What do you think about a personal brand? Do you think it will help you to stay out of the crowd?
- For me it does not matter, I have a contract with other company so I have a stable job, but I can, for example, create a profile on LinkedIn to promote myself so I can find a better offer from other company.

3. What is your opinion about a personal website for your business: do we need it?
- Yes, we need them if we have something to show. If you have a really good portfolio that you can present or you worked for a well-known company like Google etc. it is a good idea to create your personal website to show to the whole world how good you are.

What do you think about a personal brand? Do you think it will help you to stay out of the crowd?
I think so, if you starting a business nowadays, people not only look on what you sell, but also on who you are. If they trust you, they will buy what you sell.

What is your opinion about a personal website for your business: do we need it?
I think if cannot find a restaurant or a shop online, and checkout menu and address or book a table before I leave, a probably will go to another place. So presence online today is very important.
1. I have business associated with the software development. I was surprised how easy it is now to open a new one in Poland :)
2. I think it is very important but how it is done vary from the business you are in. For developers it is good to have some good portfolio, but this can be also presented in many ways, for example on github. But if you are more ambitious and you are trying to sell your own product to a lot of customers, then website is just one of the must have things.
3. I would like to have one in the future. But during time of studies I’m not interested in expanding activity or trying to find new customers so at this point I don’t need it.

I don't have a business right now, but I'm planning to have one sonner or later. Most of my family work for their own, so I'd love to follow that patter in a few years. Right now I want to learn on others people mistakes and step away to my path when I would feel that it's a good time.

I think a personal brand is beneficial and we should care about it. It will help you in setting a company because people will know you and in most cases, humans like to follow other people.

Nowadays when it's so easy to have your business website, I don't see any point against it. Depending on who you are and what you do and what you want you should or don't have to have a website. It's good to have just a site with your first and last name plus a way of how people can reach you. It's enough. With that starts it'll be much easier to start later when you would change your mind about this.

1. Do you have your own business? If not, do you want to set up a new one?: Yes, I do. My two friends and I set up a business two years ago. We provide activity connects with movies. We record and assemble one-reel movies as a video clip, weddings, animations or advertisings. We connect our passion with our skills for many years and we improve ourself with every passing project.
2. What do you think about a personal brand? Do you think it will help you to stay out of the crowd?: It is not important for me to stay out of the crowd. Mainly I care about my self-development and self-realization. I think that personal brand can definitely help in it. It makes you feel better when you see progress and see how your brand develops. Then you are more motivated and involved to do more and more.
3. What is your opinion about a personal website for your business: do we need it?: We have a website on Facebook and an account on Instagram. We don’t have a website but we would like to have it in the nearest future. I think it very important to have a website or fun page for example on Facebook. First of all it helps you reach to the people. It is the best way to advertise your work, because prospective clients can see your projects. Secondly they can find a way to contact with you and recommend your brand to others. So your brand could develop faster. More over, personal website makes first, and sometimes last, impression. It is very important to make clear and organized design which represents your personal brand. All of those examples create presentable and personal concept of the brand.

Unfortunately, I do not have my own business yet, but I have ideas, and I gradually take steps to implement them. So who knows, maybe this is temporary.

What do you think about a personal brand? Do you think it will help you to stay out of the crowd?
Creating a personal brand will surely set you apart from all competitors; a personal brand can increase awareness. But I do not think that its creation is a mandatory part of the business. Although if you provide a service or product that has no analogues in the market, the presence of a brand is mandatory from the point of view of marketing.

What is your opinion about a personal website for your business: do we need it?
Today, many consumers place orders and use services on the Internet. The presence of a web site is an advantage for any business. In addition, the website can provide feedback to consumers. This can help you improve your product.

1. Do you have business? If not, do you want to set up a new one?

No, I don't. For now I'm working in companies to gain some experience. But am I thinking about creating one in the future? Of course I do, but as I said - the more experience I get, the more I can make use of it.

2. What do you think about a personal brand? Do you think it will help you to stay out of the crowd?

It depends on what's your business is about. For example, when you're creating some clothing brand, you can make unique, expensive clothes - then you're staying out of the crowd. On the other hand, you can also make some popular clothes like all the other "normal shops", then it doesn't look like staying out of the crowd.

What is your opinion about a personal website for your business: do we need it?

You know, again it depends on what your business is about, but I think it's needed. Our personal website is kind of business card for us.

Do you have business? If not, do you want to set up a new one?
I do have my own business, but in the legal terms to work for my company - not in the way I run my own company. However, I would love to work for my own and launch some brilliant business - the problem is idea of what services my company should provide.

What do you think about a personal brand? Do you think it will help you to stay out of the crowd?
I don't think I understand this question correctly, is personal brand something which focuses on its customers, treats them and sells some products made specially for their likes and tastes? If yes, I think that kind of company would definitely stay out of the crowd, but it would be so difficult to run it.

What is your opinion about a personal website for your business: do we need it?
I think we do. As you said, nowadays this is the way we make our first impression - crucial factor to gain customer trust. Also, we can put there a lot of useful data for the potential customers, as well as plug analytics tools to track and analyze our customers behavior. This is something very powerful, because it allows us to better understand our customers needs.
1.I don't have my own business. I wish I could establish one in the future. Hopefuly someday I will come up with a good idea for own company but for now I need to gather some experience in IT branch.

2. I think it all depends on a type of business. Usually it is important to establish a well known and widely recognised brand.

3. I think that nowadays well designed website is important for every type of business. Internet is probably the best way to advertise your company and as mentioned in presentation, Internet is the place where companies make their first impression. Presenting your offer in a proper way can sometimes be as important as quality of the offer itself. People have to know that things that you try to sell exist and seem to be a good deal. To sum up, for modern business website is extremely important and companies should always make sure their website is as good as it can be.
I don’t have my own business yet, but I have an excellent example of an entrepreneur in my family, who is my father. So in future, I probably want to have my own business, but I don’t have an idea yet. I can continue my father’s business, but I don’t want to.
Personal brand sounds cool. It will probably help you to stay out of the crowd, but will it help you to be successful if your business? It depends. Generally, it’s tough to build your brand from zero. Even if you are a good businessman and know all ‘rules’ of making successful business it doesn’t give you 100% confidence that your brand will become more popular than the brands that are already in the market.
And about a personal website. I think that the phrase ’successful business’ equals ‘personal website’. It’s one of the best ways of advertising your business and making your client base bigger.
While I don’t have a business of my own at the moment, I do dream of running my own company sometime in the future – and I definitely won’t neglect branding if it ever comes to that. While I don’t quite subscribe to the wildly consumeristic mindset that’s widespread nowadays, I do recognize that a good brand can make a huge difference in how people see you, and how willing will they be to buy your products or services. As a matter of fact, I’ve been working for a company that creates websites for various businesses, and I got to see from the backstage how much complexity and involvement different companies put into their branding – and it shows. Those with elaborate, informative and brand-conscious webpages tend to get significantly more pageviews that those which treat all that as an afterthought and have a webpage “because you need one nowadays”. With the rise of various technologies it’s easy to have a website that people will find both pleasant and useful, and with that their perception of you or your company will shift towards positive end. Meanwhile, a badly designed webpage or worse – a complete lack of it – will lead to frustration and increase the likelihood that no one will want to do business with you.

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and natura...

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds...
