Week 4 [6.11-12.11] Stop and stare

Our lives move forward at incredible speed. We are surrounded by thousand pieces of information from a variety of sources. The question I ask myself every day is what I am doing with my life. I believe it is vital to stop for a moment and consider my goals in life and whether I am going to find a way to achieve them. All of us are aware that our lives pass more quickly than we would want to and it might be worth remembering at least one moment of each day before we completely forget it.
I have mixed feelings about this video.

1. I’m interested in what you think about that way to remember and if you appreciate the past day enough.

2. Would you use such a way to document and remember your life?

First of all thank you for that inspiring video. It's really awesome and I liked it very much.
In my opinion it's a great way to remember all the past days. It's some kind of a modern diary which I used to write when I was younger.
To be honest I will never use such way to document my life because I'm sure I would keep on forgetting to document that one second, then my progress would not make any sense with such empty spaces in it.

I'm pretty sure that's a great way to jog the memory in years to come! Another alternative is to take 1 picture every day. Or, if your life is more mundane, maybe an option would be to record 5 seconds a day and at the end of the week choose the best one out of the week to keep.I believe it would have a nice effect. It would reinvigorate memories that otherwise would never be recollected.

I guess I would try this, maybe not for a year but for a couples month for sure.

I agree with You :) I think that i will have the same problem but it can be lot of opportunity. It's only one idea and one tool to modification :)

The idea presented in video is amazing and very inspiring. Watching someone's life from his perspective is also quite unusual experience.
I was thinking about documenting my life as well but I'd probably use some ancient form called diary ;) It has a problem, though - it requires much more time than the method shown here.

This TED Talk is really inspiring. I have noticed after myself that sometimes I forget about really important things that happened to me. I forget that, for example, I've been visiting this country with my family or something else. But as the life is so boring sometimes, there is nothing to record. Nobody ever watched their videos from concerts for themselves only. But I have the tones of pictures on my phone for almost every day, so I can just enjoy them in my nostalgic mood.

Each of us should learn to appreciate his life the way this guy does. I like his idea - espicially his attitude to the bad moments of our life. It helps us to appreciate things we have right now. Unfortunately, in the era of Internet communication, people forget to enjoy a concert, spent time with their friends and family. Someone of us are more interested in getting more subscribers on Youtube channel or Instragram.
Thanks to recording of just one second of our life, we can concentrate on the most important things and stimulate ourselves to achieve things that really matter.
But, to be honest, I don't think I will spend my free time on something like that :)

I like the idea quite a bit. He wasn't a very good speaker but I can look past that since he probably doesn't do it much. I'd actually consider doing something like this if my daily life wasn't so dreadfully boring.
I also find this idea really interesting and like the way how the 1 second videos look visually, when compiled together. Personally I don't need such a tool to remember the good moments, because I prefer to enjoy them through the lenses of my own eyes instead of an artificial one, I just find them more real that way.

It is corresponding with other TED' talk about happiness. There two kinds of happiness you ken get. First one is at the moment just to live in the moment and feel it instead of recording it for future like Second type does. Second type enjoying recollecting memories much more then actual moment. For me the best of two world is to live the moment. Just because how our memory works.

I've never thought about such a way of remembering every single day of my life. My first thought was "Okay, nice, but most of the time I do nothing interesting. I go to work, to school, sometimes I go out". But then I thought that life will never be composed of super interesting moments only and that doesn't mean it's boring or not worth remembering. I was surprised when on his video I saw everyday-life moments as well, not only the extraordinary ones. But there is one thing I'm wondering about - how can you know this one second will be exactly the one worth remembering? How can you know something more interesting won't happen later? That would be my biggest problem creating such a video. However I don't think I will start recording my memories this way.

I really enjoyed this video. It inspires me to start doing things worth remembering every single day. It would be a boring video if each day we would do the same repeated things.

Maybe some of you know if there is an app which records constant amount of time and catalogs videos ?

Is's great option with 5 seconds ;) I think that i will try it also. Maybe first for one month and then i will see. Good luck for You.

I agree with You but maybe it will be more valuable for You.
It may be kind of helping you to discover yourself. More time and more effort but better result. Good luck! ;)

Of course but i think that it's only one tool to discover how multithreaded is Your live. I think that many phones have options for making movies with photos so maybe it is good idea for You ;)

Funny thing, I've had the mobile app created by the author of this TED talk on my phone. Thought it was a nice idea to record just a second from a day. A random second of day can tell many things and bring back memories of everything connected around to this one second. The next second (from a next day) can continue this story or start a different one.
This talk quite resonated with me because same as Cesar I sometimes have difficulty remembering things from the past, certain events, situations. That's because the time passes so fast when there are so many things to do daily there is no time to slow down and cherish the moment. I regret it but that's a consequence of dealing with too much in too little span of time. Oh, and I've hardly used the app to record a second, I would always forget about it ;) nevertheless I like the idea.

That`s an interesting video. I`ve seen similar methodic in the film called "Chef", where son of the chef filmed every day of their trip on a food truck to make his dad remember good days that he spent with his son and change his opinion in the end of the film. "Chef" is a really good film that I recommend to watch.
Personally I would make something like this not for memorizing what I`ve been doing each day, but just to look if I am better today them myself yesterday.

People use photo albums to recall what they did and how they looked in the past. I think the idea of one second video would be good. But it would has to has few one seconds snapshots on one intresting day. I think that would be a great way to store good memories from the past. The idea of one second from every day would not be good. People like to get there photo album when they are in certain specific mood, and when they watch a video from every day they could recall also bad days.

I have mixed feelings about this idea... 1 second could be not enough to empathize the real meaning of that moment. Author would remember it different way than the viewer would understand it. And not every day is worth remembering in my own opinion. Sometimes we just have a bad day and want to forget about it. And some days are just too awesome to record only a single second from it.

On the other hand, I personally hate people recording concerts with their smartphones and not watching the band on the stage. Other thing is make a photo or a movie outside the main stage area with the band that played. So for me it would be a hard thing to do daily.
as the author said "it is important to record not only good, but bad moments too, to appreciate good things that were happening". Fully agreed and honestly, that was the best video of tedx i have ever seen.
What about questions asked above, i would say, that i won't do it,not because i'm thinking in that way, but it must be a habit, you can't do it everyday, when it is not a habit or daily routine action or reminder on your phone. It's a good idea to implement, but not everybody will estimate it. I prefer to record such as breathtaking moments in your life and not only big event like concerts, travelling trips, but also happy birthdays, interesting meetings and other staff can be a part of our amazing life

It's an interesting idea, but i'm not sure if I can agree full-heartedly. First of all i'm not a big supporter of living in a past. I believe that future and present are the times we should be focused on. I think that too many people try to record the great moments in their lives to relive them later rather than enjoy them here and now. For example I never understood people who record concerts. You can watch concert any time on YouTube, but watching the bad live and having fun is something that recording can never provide.
Quite interesting video, I am not fully agree with speaker, but still he has some valid points. Good memories help us when we have difficult days, but I think that it's wrong to dwell too much on past. The most important that I singled out for myself - every day of our life is unique in a certain way and we have to remember it.
Would you use such a way to document and remember your life? I don't know, but why not to try, in 2017 we have plenty of apps that will help you to document your life in different ways .
Highly interesting way to remember things, choosing one second to remember out of 86400 in one day choosing that one special that one most important to us , and choosing it not knowing what will happen later that day, or risking missing that “one” due to hesitation.

I would not use such method only because of my phone and the fact that often enough i don't have it with me or its broken or just simply battery in it died. If i were of choosing similar way i would write one sentence down, one full sentence to memorize a day. Would it have same effect probably but what concerns me the most is how would i choose that sentence just as he struggled to choose that one second i would struggle to write down that one sentence. It would be a great experiment focusing not only on remembering but also on choosing, choosing what to remember, what do i want to remember from this day maybe something that happened, something i thought or saw ?
Well, i almost never have been thinking about past and future in overall, only about some critical points. But it has changed after i met my girlfriend which thinks exactly this topic is really important to her. So for last couple months ive been makeing plans for myself so i will be sure that ive done something positive and valuable every day so i can feel fulfilled and satisfied.
I think i won't, not becouse i think its not good idea but, becouse i don't like to take photos, shoot films etc. Anyways, nice article. It made me think for a while.

This was quite an inspiring video, I'm looking forward to doing something like this myself. Assuming I won't forget about it the day after. Besides that, the videos that guy made look far more different than mine would probably be, and that is where we get to the second point- why bother with it?
Everyone says "stop and look outside the box, unleash your creativity, think about life etc. etc.", but behind that motivational phrases, there is a note "20.11 - CMS test", "13.11 - prep. materials for management" and here it comes- the mundane "Home-Work/School-Home" scheme we are all taking part in.
If I were to document one second every day, it would probably be in my car, in the office or at home, staring at the monitor. I can't help the fact that I simply don't have time for anything else. It is worth trying, but I think that we can remember the good moments anyway, without the need to recording one seconds everyday.

Thank you for sharing this video, I started to wonder if I would like to record one second of my life every day. The author said that he doesn't like forgetting his days, but for me it's a part of our life. In the beginning I was enthusiastic about this idea, after some time, I started to wonder if it isnt denying the nature of humans, now I don't find this idea so great. How it happens that we remember some moments both sad and happy very strong? Because they are really important for us. I believe that our brain is the best library of moments ever.

I liked this video, it made me think. How often I forgot about some moment/event? How many memories I've lost? Probably a lot. But another question is if I wanted to record it - I don't think so. Sometimes we are more into making photos/videos than in this particular moment. I believe that I will remember things worth remembering - those good and bad ones. Of course - it would be nice to have an opportunity to show it to someone else, as I'm not the best story teller.

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and naturally.
