Week 9 [18.05 - 24.05] What Bicycle should I choose?

What Bicycle should I choose?

It's getting warmer and despite the epidemic, we all want to go outside and get some fresh air by walking or cycling. The bike probably everyone knows what it is used for and has certainly tried to ride it more than once. But do you know that a bike is divided into several categories depending on the sport and the terrain in which we ride? I am the owner of a bicycle that is adapted to the mountain conditions (MTB). Below I will introduce you to several types and use them in sport or in the field.

MTB

At the very beginning we will start with the type of bike that is popular and most often bought. It is a mountain bike designed for riding in harsh conditions. Its basic version is equipped with a front shock absorber that absorbs our jumps and protects against falling. The more expensive models of mountain bikes are equipped with two shock absorbers (one in the back, the other in the front), they are called MTB Full XC.

Enduro and Trail

The next type of bike is Endura and Trail. These are models designed for paths, mountain trails. Its main use are descents from steep mountains, where you often go at high speed and fall from high altitudes. The Enduro type is more suitable for extreme descents. The bike is recommended for people who want to provide a lot of adrenaline and are not afraid of challenges. The disadvantage of the above bike is its price.
An example of an enduro slide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDYruCeOFiI

Race bike

A racing bike that is designed to ride on the road at high speed. The frame of this bike does not allow comfortable ride because when riding on such a bike we take a very leaning position. Thanks to the speed you can get on this bike, you can cover longer distances and the stiffened rudder holds the bike steadily. This model is used in the popular Tour de France race. If you care about speed or want to travel long distances then you need to think about this type of bike.

Tourist bicycle

Tourist bicycles can be divided into Trekking, Cross, City

A tourist bike can be used in several ways, one of them is for typical family rides, and another form is to use it as a comfortable movement in the city, e.g. this type of bike is often used in the Netherlands where there are a lot of them 😊. Unfortunately, the bike has one disadvantage - weight, city / tourist bikes are usually heavy.
Touring bicycles are characterized by great ride comfort and we can travel very long distances on such a bike. The price of a tourist bicycle is usually cheaper than the models described above. Veturilo in Warsaw is an example of a tourist / city bike

BMX

Colloquially called the trick bike. It is most often used in skate parks where various tricks related to this type of bike are performed. For this purpose, the bike has a rudder that rotates 360 degrees and has rear brackets mounted. To sum up a small bike with 20 inch wheels for tricks.

Electric bike

Electric bicycles are becoming popular at an express pace. They have an electric motor that helps ride and reduces physical effort on such a bike. The main advantage is the possibility of covering a long distance without rest, as exemplified by the modern form of delivery, e.g. Uber Eats, Volt, etc. At the moment, most types of bikes can be found in the assisted option: road, trail, enduro, city, trekking, city, Fitness. The main disadvantage of such a bike is its large weight caused by the battery that weighs a few kilograms and the heavy ride when such a battery discharges. Unfortunately, they are very expensive and the battery life is quite short at the moment. There is also an option to convert your bike into an electric https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FroqiezWWAM

To sum up: I haven't listed all types of bikes because there are a lot of them and some of them are not worth attention in my opinion. If you have a question about which bike you should choose, write in the comment which style you prefer and I will try to help you 😊

Questions:

Do you like to ride a bike?
What kind of bike would you choose and why?

How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?

Comments

1. Not so much. I am very lazy, and riding a bike is exhausting. Moreover, the network of bicycle lanes in Warsaw is not very good, and cyclists are forced to disturb either drivers, or pedestrians. I used to ride a bike every day when I was working in the office which was in a straight, short way from my home. It was a perfect opportunity to ride a bike.

2. I have my own bike which is of a normal, city/tourist male type with high frame.

3. To be honest, I don’t care. I am not interested in bicycles and if someone want to ride such a bike, then buy it and ride it. I had an occasion to ride such a bike maybe twice in my life and it was veturillo. It is quite handy to climb the steep Tamka street. An interesting feature of those bikes is that it is not possible to ride fast, because the engine resists the movement.

1. I love cycling but not in the city. I like to ride a bike in the woods where there aren’t many people and I’m surrounded by birds and clean air.

2. I would definitely choose a MTB bike because I ride mainly in the woods and on narrow paths where the road isn’t paved so good shock absorbers are necessary. I used to think about a city bike but riding a bike path around the city or street won't please me.

3. I really like this idea, even once I cycled on it. You can actually feel the wind in your hair!

I really love cycling. Unfortunately I don't have one right now but I really want to get one and I thought about buying an electric one Super73 just to see how it works and rides. When I was young I always loved mountine bikes and BMX to have fun but right now I would pick road bike or urban one (the one with narrow handlebar). I was living in a small town with dirty roads so mountaine bike was the best choice then but right now as I live in the city I really think about getting an electric bike. It would be a nice alternative from bus or a tram. I like the idea of it.
1. Yes, I like to ride a bicycle and whenever I visit my parents, we go on bike trips. Here, however, I don't have a bike and Verturilo is too heavy for me.
2. I would choose a city bike with a comfortable saddle, a fairly high frame and above all light.
3. I have never ridden such a bike but if I had to ride a bike every day 20 - 30 km to work then maybe I would choose such a bike. On the one hand, this is a small scam, on the other - you do not have to make such effort and ultimately it is more ecological than a car.
1. Yes, I like cycling a lot. I use a bicycle to move around the city. Although I prefer cycling a lot in the woods and meadows, but I don't have much time right now. Maybe in the summer I will spend more time cycling.

2. If I were to buy a bike now, I would consider buying an electric bike or a racing bike. It would be a new experience for me. In addition, I would like to start training cycling, I think it is a very relaxing sport.

3. I have never ridden an electric bike, but I think that this is quite an interesting idea. Such a bike allows you to optimize training for amateurs, and also makes cycling easier, especially when we ride in the mountains (I had the opportunity to ride a bike in the mountains, it was a very tiring experience). Of course, someone can say that using such a bike is cheating, but I have a different opinion.

Do you like to ride a bike?

I like to ride a bike but rather short distances of about 10km during the day, I like to jump on smaller hills and bumps in the forest, in general I prefer to ride off-road rather than on the street. Cycling positively influences my mental state. I gained some weight during the quarantine, so now I have returned to training. An hour's ride a day is enough to start burning fat tissue, combined with a diet of course. An hour of driving at about 20km/h will burn about 600kcal. It's worth noting that at this speed our effort is aerobic, oxygen is needed to oxidize the adipose tissue.

What kind of bike would you choose and why?

I've had a mountain bike for 10 years. I think it has too small wheels. I'd like to replace them with bigger ones, but I don't know if that's possible.

How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?

It's a cool idea, but under one condition. The energy should only help on sharp climbs. Using it to drive faster is not safe. The electric bike is equipped with a battery and an electric motor. These two things weigh a lot. Unfortunately, the brakes on the bike are not designed for this weight. Tires in such a bike should also be wider.

1.
I do, especially on roads, I yet have to try mountain biking. In my opinion the bike is the best way to move around a city, even a big city like Warsaw.

2.
2 bikes, a Road bike for everyday commute and a MTB for ocasional trips to the mountains.

3.
I think it's cheating, one should go about using the power of the own legs and not
using electricity. I wouldn't see the fun in sucha bicycle, but maybe for some people, that
need to traverse long distances and don't want a motorcycle or car that's a good idea.

1. Nah I prefer walking on foot it is the most comfortable type of transport in my opinion, slow though.

2. What kind of bike would you choose and why?
I'm not sure propably the city bike as I value comfort and I do not mind heavy weight.

3. How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
It is nice, it may really help some people in tougher situation to get rest while still moving forward to save time.
1. Do you like to ride a bike?
Yes, I do. I ride bike very often - few times a week. For most time of my life it was my favorite mean of transport, but I also loved all the possible bike trips. It did not matter whether I chose forest, road, or a city ride - it always satisfied me. A year ago I also went on a bigger trip on a bike packed with tents so I traveled with my friends for 3 days.

2. What kind of bike would you choose and why?
For now I would opt for gravel bike which is kind of a merge of a race bike with MTB. It looks similar to race bikes but has a bit different geometry and usually wider tires. It is a great balance between commuting in a city and off-road.

3. How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
I like this idea. Electric bikes are kind of small scooters that can ride on roads dedicated to cyclists. It is also good for older people because it requires less effort from them to cycle. I haven't had a pleasure to try such a bike, but people who did recommend it.
Adam Tokarczyk said…
1. I used to love riding a bike as a kid. With time I was parting with it more and more though. But I'm trying to change it lately. Last year I managed to ride a bike almost everyday for ~a month. I'll probably do the same this year, but for a bit longer period. I'll have to stay away from Warsaw for longer as well though, as riding in city is terrible. At the moment it's just random trip from time to time.

2. Currently I own MTB. It's most universal bike in my opinion. And just yesterday I discovered chopper themed bikes, more particularly Plumbike company. Those look really neat, and if I have some spare funds I'll probably consider getting one, but it will have to wait for sure. Meantime I'll find out if they are worth anything at all, or are just expensive without anything to offer, aside from its looks.

3. Electric bike kill whole idea of bike. If I wanted it to move by itself, I'd get an A driving licence and motorcycle. Not to mention that most of bicyclist bring danger on streets even on normal bikes... so image what will happen if they change those for electric ones.

Do you like to ride a bike?
No, I don't. And to be honest, I do not like other people riding bikes as well, neither as a pedestrian, nor as a car driver.
What kind of bike would you choose and why?
Motorized, a motorcycle. Or a car. I don't know, for some reason I do not vibe with bicycles at all, I do not consider them that comfortable and practical.
How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
Good, very good. A motorized would be even better.
Do you like to ride a bike?
Yes I do. I rode a bike all my childhood. That was my only transport in my city. We don't have a public transport.

What kind of bike would you choose and why?
I would choose the MTB bike, because it has shock absorbers and rides are smooth.

How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
I'm fascinated with this idea as soon as they will make the one with charging from pedals I would buy it.

Do you like to ride a bike?

I don't do it very often but when I do i enjoy it deeply. Maybe that's the reason I like it so much. If something becomes a rare enjoyable activity then it tastes twice as good.

What kind of bike would you choose and why?

I would choose BMX or electric one that's for sure. Enduro seems like the best fit for me. I could ride any where whenever i want to. Shocks are properly balanced and even accessing higher pavements should be easier thanks to those. It seems like the most universal choice.

How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?

Electric bike might be convinient but it seems like a misunderstanding of whole idea of a bike. For me it is all about that muscle activity so having a engine support seems like cheating. Of course if somebody thinks that this is the best fit for him/her then I have nothing against it. It just doesn't work for me. I would like to however give it a try.

1. Do you like to ride a bike?
Yes, I like to ride a bike, I used to ride a bicycle a lot in my home city. Riding a bike is very energy saving, I really enjoy it.

2. What kind of bike would you choose and why?
I would probably choose a city bike, and because I am tall, so I care the comfort of the saddle. Anyway, I mainly rode the sharing bike in my home city, which you just scan the QR code on it and start to ride.

3. How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
It's a quite good idea. Anyway, I like energy saving, so I hope the energy should only help on slope, else, it lose the meaning to "ride" a bike.

I love to ride a bike, it's a sport that I associate with holidays and having a good time. I like to feel the wind in my hair when I ride a bike. Additionally, it is a sport during which you can almost not get tired or fall from tiredness at the end (I went to spinning bike classes).

I have a normal bike, which is neither urban nor mountain bike. I like it very much, because it is universal.

At the beginning I wasn't convinced to use an electric bicycle and probably I won't buy one myself. But my aunt, who was going on bicycle trips to continue enjoying such trips, bought a bicycle when she fell ill, so I think it's a cool solution.
1. Yes i like to ride a bike. I own MTB bike which i didn’t have opportunity to use in harsh conditions until last year when i took it on enduro trails in bielsko biala.
2. As i sad in previous answer i own MTB but i dont to upgrade it or buy a new one MTB. right now i'm thinking about buying race bike for commuting in city.
3. I like this idea. i’ve tried electric bike two times. once when i was in szczyrk me and my friends took mountain electric bikes and ride hills with it, it was big fun. Other time i tried electric veturillo which was also fun to ride because it was easier to ride it up hill.
Do you like to ride a bike?
I do like to ride a bike but I don't ride it often. I can spend more than a year without riding a bike, maybe because I don't own one.

What kind of bike would you choose and why?
I think I would choose an MTB bike because they are more popular.

How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
The idea of an electrical bicycle it's a good one because it makes riding easier for everyone and more fun because you don't use too much energy.
1. Do you like to ride a bike?
Yes, I liked to ride a bike, at least that was when I could still ride a bike
2. What kind of bike would you choose and why?
As I am an amateur cyclist, I would probably choose a tourist bicycle with a comfortable seat for short or medium trips.
3. How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
Well this is not a new idea, people have been connecting combustion engines to bicycles for some time now they just turned them into electric ones. Looking how much they cost, I think that I would probably not make such a purchase just because I don't have to pedal so much.
Do you like to ride a bike?
I love it! I do have a few bicycles. Most of them are old ones but i do have kinda old but restored "speed" bike from Batavus.

What kind of bike would you choose and why?
I like "speed" bikes but not as advanced aas used in tours like tour de france but consumer friendly speed bikes.

How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
It sounds greate. Use electric power for reaching lnger distances faster and to be less tired after the ride.

1. Do you like to ride a bike?

It gives me the time to enjoy nature and avoid traffic. I'm lucky that I like to get out and stretch my legs. I want to enjoy the taste of fresh air and sunshine while riding. It's so beautiful out here, it's hard to describe. I try to walk occasionally but it is hard when I feel that car, bike or truck beside me. I can't go for walks when I don't feel safe! When I'm riding I feel much more connected to nature. It's easy to notice birds and wildlife. I can see birds wherever I am. In some places, there is beautiful scenery. My eyes almost bleed in the autumn. It's like a window. I look for that peaceful place to be.

2. What kind of bike would you choose and why?

I choose my bike gifted during baptism event, I really like this one, It was with me with my whole life, it is very solid and light, I ride the bike when I have a chance and I love it. Unfortunately, I left the bike back in Warsaw and I am using my father's right now.

3. How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?

I like the idea of using it. I think it will change society. It is safer for pedestrians and more eco-friendly than petrol-driven vehicles. It is a good option for elder people. A lot of older people use it because it saves them time on walking. It also looks futuristic and stylish.
1. Do you like to ride a bike?
Yes, I enjoy spending my free time riding a bike. I often do it with my friends, we are planning our trips, because we started organizing an all day travels. I have never tried to go to university or work by bike, but one day I would like to. It seems really nice and I admire people who are doing it. On the other hand it would be good if we can shower and feel fresh during the lessons or work.

2. What kind of bike would you choose and why?
I have a MTB bike and I find it really great. On the other hand I would like to have a race bike, I am riding on road with the cars sometimes and it will definitely improve the quality of the ride.

3. How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
I like the idea of an electric bicycle, moreover it is a great way to encourage people who not really like riding a bike or it is just too much effort for them to get to the destination place. I would like to try it one day, it must be so comfortable to ride on it.
1. Do you like to ride a bike?
I love ride a bike. When I have time I get my bike and make a trip. I love riding on dirt roads and check new places. A few years ago I ride a bike with my sister and we had a lot of fun. Our challenge was to overcome the longest stretch of road in 4 hours. After that I had cotton wool legs.

2. What kind of bike would you choose and why?
I would choose MTB with two shock absorbers and with specific kind of shifters. I love riding on uneven surface. I always organize trips to forest or on dirt roads. I like to overcome obstacles eg. rocks. For me MTB is the best.

3. How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
I think it’s not a good idea. I love riding bike with help of my own legs muscles. It’s good for my health. My legs power determine how fast I ride and this is beautiful.
It is a pity that you were not interested in this article. But you wrote that you are lazy, maybe you should be interested in an electric bike. It will give you a lot of savings in terms of communication because the electric bike gives you a lot of effort to travel a lot of kilometers and at work you can always charge the batteries

I am the owner of a mtb bicycle and I think it is universal. As for the downhill runs, I also had the same situation you described, my hands ached for a month.

I just googled the bike you mentioned. Very interesting design with a little funny look. What I can see from this is very strong lighting, you will be seen from a kilometer;). I understand that you want a fully electric bike without thinking about a basic bike, e.g. MTB. Or maybe you still have a type of bike that I haven't mentioned in the article

A bike with two shock absorbers is a very good choice. My friend and I also did trips for 4 hours and the next day I couldn't move. Do you prefer a bike with a carbon frame or one ordinary aluminum one?

I will tell you about the size of the wheels, you can replace them, you just have to measure the frame exactly and check what size it will allow you. I myself recommend 29 inches.
Currently, you can rent an electric bike in Warsaw, try to ride. For me it caused such joy that I wanted to buy it right away
Hello, here are my replies to your questions!

1. I... actually hate riding bikes. I also hate people who ride them (but only those who use the streets or pedestrian sidewalks, I don't mind casual cyclists strolling through some forest). When I was twelve years old, my parents forced me to go for scouts' cycling camp and I was forced to do 70 kilometre long routes almost every day. I had no proper training before that and I was a fat and lazy kid who didn't have any constitution. Other scouts made fun of me for not being able to keep up with them. I kept loosing consciousness many times on those "happy trips" since I just couldn't make it. Till today I want to cry every time I think about getting on a bike.

2. I would only pick a motor bike or an electric bicycle since they are the only ones I tolerate. Even though I know that motorcycles are dangerous to ride.

3. I think that's a good idea for long trips and for people, who use bicycles for travelling only. I would use them myself if it wasn't for my bike-phobia. I also think that they are great for elderly.

1. I love to ride a bike, this simple activity brings me so much joy that I cant imagine summer season without it. Depending on the day and my mood its either a training either a form of relaxation for me and a great way to spend time with friends or family instead of sitting at home whole day.
2. My bike of choice is an MTB, most of the time I am riding on the streets but also, I enjoy going off-road in the woods for example, so it is just perfect for me.
3. I don’t like the idea of an electric bicycles and that’s because I think it brings out the fun and enjoyment of a ride, but that’s just my opinion ;)

1. No, I personally don't like riding bicycles.

2. I wouldn't choose any because I don't like this type of activity. However, if I had to choose something, I would take a children's bike and give it to a poor child.

3. No, I don't like this idea. The idea of cycling is to use pedals, so where is the point here? Is an electric bicycle the same as a scooter?
1. Yes :) I try to ride everywhere on my bike instead of public transport but it's not always possible. Riding to school in hot days would require at least a quick shower :D also I'm afraid to chain my bike outside as my previous one was stolen :(

2. I have a bike, I have a Trek MTB. It is amazing, when I first took it for a spin it was like it was ridding on its own! I decided to choose MTB because of its multipurpose utilities. It would be probably easier to move around the city on a race bike but I can't bring a race bike to the woods. I'm very happy I chose this one.

3. I had a chance to try one out in the shop. Quit surprising experience. I thought it will be like an electric scooter; push the start button and just steer. As it turned out it only helped with the power so I still had to pedal. Unfortunately, it had a limit to the speed booster but it was fun nevertheless.
1 / Unfortunately, I don’t know how to ride a bicycle ... Therefore, I can’t answer, but I probably don’t like it.

2 / I would rather walk: D

3 / I think this is a good idea. Especially for people like me. Which are weak in what would ride on velisipedami.
Sure, I like to ride a bike. I don’t do it so often because I am a bit lazy but when I do it I like it. Actually now during quarantine when I can’t just go out and spend time with friends I started to use bike a bit more often. It is really grate way to spend time outside, do some sport and just relax from sitting in front of computer all day. I would choose electric bike because as I mentioned before I am lazy person. I think idea of electric bike is really cool. Well it is a bit stupid because we go to ride a bike to do sport and move a little bit while on electric bike it just don’t happen. But still I think it is very comfortable and fun thing to do.

1. I like. In the past I raced in marathons.

2. MTB is the best ratio of comfort to the weight of the bike. Solutions with a rear shock are a waste of time. The frame stiffness is invaluable.

3. Cool thing. If someone likes it. I personally don't like it because of too much mass, with low power. I think a bicycle and a motorcycle are the right way to go.
1) Of course I like to ride a bike. I think it's the best means of transport for sightseeing, e.g. on vacation. We are able to cover relatively long distances in a short time and at the same time we do not lose beautiful views and have a better opportunity to feel the atmosphere of the place than for example when sightseeing by car. In everyday life it is also sometimes good to use a bicycle - instead of going by car we can go shopping by bicycle - we do not pay for gasoline, we do not have to worry about the parking space and by the way it is healthier for us.
2. I have a type of MTB bike that I regularly use
3. Very interesting. I'm generally in favour of everything electrical. That's why I liked this idea right away. It's a pity that it's still just a novelty, but maybe over the years electric bikes will become more and more popular because then we could cover really big distances in a healthy and pleasant way, which are currently reserved for those with the best condition.
What kind of bike would you choose and why?

I would chose BMX becouse their are small, comfortable in transport and you can do a lot of funny things on those ones.

How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?

Well, to be honest electric scooters are more interesting to me, I don't know why but I have bad feelings about electric bycle. I associate them with old mans

1. Do you like to ride a bike?
Yes, but since I don't have my own bike I ride rarely. Now when I'm riding I use bike only for transportation an I'm using city bikes.
2. What kind of bike would you choose and why?
Something between MTB and Tourist bike because MTB is lighter and its easier to carry it on stairs and tourist like because I mostly ride on streets.
3. How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
It depends what is the purpose of using the bike. If you use a bike as a means of transport it could be useful. If you want to have fun with bike and excercise on it, this is not the bike for you.
1. Of course I like. I like sport very much, I am an active person, Whenever I have the time and the opportunity to take a bike and go for a ride.
2. I don't know specific types and which one is the best. The one I have is not the newest and that's why I've been thinking about buying a new bike for a long time. First of all, when buying, I pay attention to a comfortable seat and that the bike is not too heavy. I am definitely not interested in BMX :) Your material shows that I could look for a MTB or a tourist bicycle.
3. I am not an electric bike enthusiast. While an electric scooter has some sense, an electric bike doesn't. The greatest pleasure of riding a bicycle is that you can ride thanks to your strength and not thanks to the battery.

1. I really like to ride a bike and I do it quite often, especially when it’s warm. It’s fast, comfortable, cheap and eco-friendly way of transport.

2. I would choose the same type of bike I have now – I don’t really know what kind it is exactly but it’s some mix of race bike with MTB. Like it has suspension on the front and a really narrow wheels and looks like MTB on your photo.

3. Everything leads us to electrification so it’s normal that every way of transportation will be electrified soon. Electric bikes definitely have their protagonists. When you don’t consider riding a bike as an activity or sport then why not have an electric bike.

I don’t like to ride a bicycle. I used to like it but I grew out of it.
Instead, I'm thinking about buying a motorcycle more and more often.
What kind of bike would you choose and why?

As I wrote above I would prefer a motorcycle. At the beginning I would buy a motorcycle with a small capacity of 125 cc - you can ride it with a category B driving license (3 years).
I was thinking about a sports and tourist motorcycle such as Honda CBR 125 The motorcycle was equipped with a single-cylinder, four-stroke engine in which a carburetor was used. After 2007, an injection power supply system was used.
I just need a few motorcycle lessons. I could ride motorcycle to work and some small outings. I heard that once youtuber managed to get on such a small motorcycle - exactly junak 125 from Poznan to Porto. I could try a similar trip as soon as they open the border.

How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
In my opinion such bikes are very heavy and ugly - I would prefer a motorcycle.

How do you like the idea of an electric bicycle?
The feeling of riding the bike is the most fun in this activity, so by giving whole power to the engine it makes little sense to me. This technology is for sure helpful for delivery guys, that don't want to be tired so much.

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and natura...
