I never wanted to own that kind of company. As far as I know, only 1% of such companies are successful. The highest income is achieved by various dream vendors, organizers of paid courses and trainers and they teach how to achieve success by running such a company. It seems to me that most of such companies are created to receive grants. Additionally, in order to set up such a company you have to devote a lot of time to it. You often work in quite non-standard hours. Often, in order to receive grants from some other company you have to sell it over 50% of shares.

2. Now there is a Coronavirus, and the world lives differently. After watching this video you know that it’s a perfect time for some new, hot startup, don’t you? Write a minimum two problems that Covid-19 causes which would be nice to solve in your own startup in those hard times.

My biggest problem during a pandemic is lack of time because I work more than I did before the pandemic, but there is nothing I can do about it. This problem also applies to pre-pandemic times. I would like somebody to build a shop where I can pick up my previously ordered purchases like from a parcel machine.
1. Have you ever thought about running your own startup? What stopped you from doing that?

I thought about running my own startup many times and I am still thinking. The only thing that is stopping me from making one is time. Actually, I am working on some things, but still, I don't have time to finish it. I have a problem that I have ideas, but can't use them.

2. Now there is a Coronavirus, and the world lives differently. After watching this video you know that it’s a perfect time for some new, hot startup, don’t you? Write a minimum two problems that Covid-19 causes which would be nice to solve in your own startup in those hard times.

One problem is that people just realized that they can work from home and it is not big trouble for a company (or actually, it can be even better because they pay less for the office). The problem to solve is to train employers to deal with some number of people remotely. Another problem I noticed is that many applications let you order food or shop online, but it takes a lot of time to browse all the possibilities. Also, there are special offers which make it even harder to decide which to use. I am thinking here of something like Ceneo.pl for food.

It's the truth that a minority of startups survive. About 10%. From that 10 %, the next 10% would make any reasonable money. Without a doubt, your own startup is hard work. I remember very well working 16-18 hours per day, for more than 6 months and you know what? It was worth it :) The public money is a problem as many companies fraud them. On the other hand, it's public money if it comes to the really rapid development of each sector. I also can agree that in Central Eastern Europe we need to give more shares than in the USA. normally round A (the first round of external financing) is about 10-15 % of your shares however in Poland it's often 40-50%.

Does your solution seem to be close to the polish company Inpost? It's interesting :)

I thought about owning some food distribution startup. I don’t have money to make it work though.
2. Now there is a Coronavirus, and the world lives differently. After watching this video you know that it’s a perfect time for some new, hot startup, don’t you? Write a minimum two problems that Covid-19 causes which would be nice to solve in your own startup in those hard times.
Food distribution startup could bring food to the people that are subject to quarantine. The food could be delivered to nurses and doctors to help them with their enormous task during pandemic.

Time is the only value that never comes back to us :) Each of us has the same problem. I would recommend you to read about MVP (Minimum Valuable Product) which could be a big help for you!
That's a really fantastic idea. I would advise you to invest 30min of your time to write a small business model canvas (e.g. here's help: https://canvanizer.com/new/business-model-canvas ) and then invest about 3hours to check your idea with creating a fast website (e.g. based on WordPress).

There is well known, a common saying in the startup world: if you don't have money, try the 3F rule - Friends, Family, and Fools ;)
More seriously, the first thing I would check is if there is a need for such a thing. My fav solution is to write a post on e.g. Facebook, to check if there are people who are going to pay for such an idea :)
1. Have you ever thought about running your own startup? What stopped you from doing that?
Yes, i thought about it a few times but right now i have to many responsibilities and i don't have time even to think about it. Right now i am focused on creating my website and to be in good situation in work/studies at the end of the semester.

Probably one of the problem would be a remote working because some of things you can not do remotely. The other one is probably to pass governments requirements of this situation.

I do not have any idea about an original product or how to improve an existing one. Also I do not have sufficient funds to survive a collapse, probability of which is extremely high when it comes to the startups.

Sadly, all the problems now are coming from people's stupidity. Activists that yell that 5G causes the virus, those who injected bleach, who refuse to wear mask. Well, it would be nice to solve the stupidity problem somehow.

Yes I thought about that, what stopped me was probably lack of time, there was always something first school, then university then work and university. Creating a new business requires some time to focus on a good idea and what resources do I need to accomplish it.

2.
It's hard to think of anything on the spot. I guess that developing a good contact tracing app could be a good idea, because the one that is offered right now by the governemnt leaves much to be desired. Also create a provicy minded video conferencing app, zoom and ms teams are collecting lots of data, so I guess a lot of people would want a alternative that doesn't do that.

1. Have you ever thought about running your own startup? What stopped you from doing that?
Since I started working at the company, I was always thinking about how to create my own business, however I have never had any good idea on my opinion. Generally, It is also a big responsibility. I catch myself on the fact that not every idea will survive, when I start thinking about something that might work I ask myself: doesn`t it already exist? Do customers need it at the moment? Who might be interested in that if there is such a big competition and I may not be competitive.

I would agree that during these times people may come up with good business ideas. To my mind, it is very complicated to buy food in supermarkets and you need to stay and wait in a long queue, so one of the solution would be create a delivery application (not a fresh idea of course), also another problem is walking with pets, however no creative idea for that as well. Probably, I am not really for enterprenuership:)

Congratulations on your courage! s Many people hesitate from showing the world their thoughts/work.
Remote working is a fantastic thing. I keep my fingers crossed to enhance this way of working.

Interesting idea about the app. AS far as I know these 2 companies were forced to gather that data.

MVP and Business model canvas is the easiest, fastest, and cheapest ways to check whether an idea is good or not.
About a delivery app- 3 weeks ago I helped my friend to create a business model for such an app.
1. Have you ever thought about running your own startup? What stopped you from doing that?
I have never thought to run own startup. I think that I didn’t have a good idea and team to do something. I’m not sure that I have necessary capabilities to manage a company. I few years ago I participate in a course to lern how to be a good boss. This course showed me that I don't have necessary skills to be a good boss.

I think a big problem is to do lessons at home and meet with teacher face to face. Available on market online communicators for video conference are not perfect. Another problem is isolation. Many people don’t know what to do. Maybe an application that provides ideas, links to sites with interesting topics could solve problem with boring time at home.

1. Have you ever thought about running your own startup? What stopped you from doing that?

I have thought about it for a couple of times but I really never have got a good idea for a startup with a little money need for it - so that's a main reason.

2. Now there is a Coronavirus, and the world lives differently. After watching this video you know that it’s a perfect time for some new, hot startup, don’t you? Write a minimum two problems that Covid-19 causes which would be nice to solve in your own startup in those hard times.

It would be an app for social networks for automatic banning some things. Firstly, it would hide all posts with fake coronavirus news and delete people who write those from friends. Secondly, it would do the same with people who write posts pretending to be scientists but they aren't in fact. I think I would need to use machine learning.
1. Have you ever thought about running your own startup? What stopped you from doing that?
Yes, these year I have started running my own startup with 2 friends. We were doing pretty well, but coronavirus has a huge impact on our world and we decided to stop for a while and prepare better after it all ends.

It is harder for elderly people to do shopping, because they have 2 hours to do it, and maybe not everyone can take their shopping by themselves. There is a problem with masks on our head, they should be changed after every usage, and most of us are not doing it. I don’t have any good ideas which are linked with COVID. I like the app where we can check-in as volunteer or person in need and people helps each-other doing shopping or going with somebody’s dog for a walk.

Of course, each of us has its own life-path :) I totally understand you. You raised a huge problem- how to interact with people and make it more realistic? I guess that within 5 years it would be normal to meet others in virtual-rooms where we do see everyone like face to face :)

Yes, fake news are a huge problem these times. And it's not very expensive to run a business in that field. Maybe that's a chance for U?

About this app- within a moment my friend is going to release his own app that solves this problem :)

1. Have you ever thought about running your own startup? What stopped you from doing that?
I haven’t considered starting my own company. Judging from my parents’ experience, it requires too much effort and plenty of expertise to have a successful business. Moreover, I’m not sure I’m ready to go through all the legal issues that beginner entrepreneurs face. As a business owner you report to no one. Although it sounds awesome, it also means that there is no one to share the blame.

First of all, there could be an app that alerts you if there is a 5G antenna nearby. For some people that might be a big deal. They will have a choice to either run away from millimeter waves or to get better internet connection. And some would probably find useful an app for ratting on your neighbours for not wearing a face mask in their own backyards.

1. I still want to run a startup. What stops me is assurance that it will be successful. Aside from an idea you also need to have some good connections that are already in the business that is relative to your startup, using this connection you should evaluate the risks, demand and actual market value of your startup before pumping in resources.

2. I think that if Covid-19 was a bit more dangerous, than drone delivery service would have been a reasonable thing to implement. But you know, that's an idea I came up with while writing a comment. No-one is going to throw real ideas at you right now xD.

1. I'm running my own start-up right now, but in is in its early phase and I cannot talk about it just yet.
2. I think that a public transport especially in big cities like Warsaw can be very problematic right now. During rush hour time there is no other option than to stand one next to another int he tram or a bus. There is no such thing as keeping a distance in a crowded subway. I've heard about a significant reduction in the price of electronic scooters. But that may be not enough. I think we could use an application that would keep track on the volume of passengers in the vehicles of public transport so that it would advise when it is best to use it to minimise exposure to other travellers.
Pawel Bluszcz said…
1. No, I never thought about starting my startup, but I thought about starting a company. And nothing stopped me from doing this. The company is and works.

2. I think that creating an application that would remember our previous purchases or create a list of the most used products would be a good solution. Then, thanks to the list created in this way, we could order our favorite and most needed products with one click.

1. I have never tried, I don't like to manage people.
2. Many companies have proposed plastic walls for various stores. I think that the production of masks would also be profitable.
1 / Yes, I thought about it, maybe there are even a few ideas. I think this is primarily a fear of something new and secondly my own laziness.

2 / I think that the first problem was to resolve the issue of the correct attitude to the epidemic, as a serious problem, and not someone else's conspiracy. And the second is the support of foundations and hospitals, with the creation of their own masks with their own hands, so that workers have the opportunity to have working materials.

There are people who can help U with all this boring business stuff and let U focus on your business development. Check out Accelerators, or technological parks or incubators.
Good idea about 5g! Why not checking out if people really want it?

There is never a confidence that your startup gonna works well. I recommend always to do a very fast checkout by building your own MVP (minimum valuable product) or creating a basic site or just asking 20 people around U if they are going to pay for your idea :)
Amazon created a drone delivery a few years ago. I also knew a polish company which raised a huge demand for such a service. Would you be interested to hear a bit more about it?

1. I am thinking about it right now (too much free time on this quarantine) so only thing that is stopping me for now is needed capital for this kind of business and will to learn more before I start so I will hopefully make less mistakes that I could possibly make.

2. I have got only one problem for now which would be online learning at schools, I think that this past months it would be great if schools had some special platform which would combine sites as “Librus” to see the scores and all the organizational stuff and a toll as “Teams” which would be only for school e-learning focused, as I see by children’s in my family many of them haven’t had online lessons because schools weren’t prepared for them at the beginning so site like this would fix many problems and it would have to be obligated for every school even after the lockdown ends because right now we don’t know what the future will bring.

I feel like higher network usage could be problem, people realized that much more things could be done using internet, maybe some kind of technology to help with this problem would be nice idea for startup.

I am actually running a few startups and will found next ones in the future. Business potential are seen every aspect on our everyday life and in all fields of "classic" businesses.

1. Have you ever thought about running your own startup? What stopped you from doing that?
Yes it was 6 months ago, i was trying to create indi-game development, i found few guys.
All we needed are 2 programmers and maybe technical designer. We were close to our main goal - to create our mobile shooter game, but one day everybody just gave up instead me.

Coronavirus dont make any problems in my industry, maybe to find a job as 3d artist. No more job vacancies which fit my skills. Maybe its because of virus, or maybe its because suddenly each game development found these people. I will try the next round but i dont think clearly that it would be the last one.

That could be a more pandemic-proof technical infrastructure so we can prevent so many restrictions during another outbreak. The other one would be more deliver services, there are more robust and faster. Something like glove, but on a bigger scale
1. Have you ever thought about running your own startup? What stopped you from doing that?
Yes I did and I still think about starting my own company. But first, I owuld rather gain deep knowledge about programming and making iOS apps so therefore I can share my knowledge with my employees, help them making projects. After finishing Computer Science I would like to gain some knowledge about managment. That would help me for sure in starting my own company/startup.

I think that focusing on local markets will be crucial. Most of the counrties will have to rethink their economy, markets and outsourcing production to other countries so it will affect regular people aswell. I think that it can be great time for small bussinesses.
Yes, I thought about that. I was thinking to run my own startup in my country. However I think I am not experienced enough. I think there are a lot of things I need to learn before starting my own startup. But it is still in my mind and I hope one day I can do that

2. I don't know actually. I think there are a lot of things that we should think about. But first of all it is online education. We have admit that our online system needs to improved.

First, we can develope more online communication or cooperation apps and softwares, which keep us stay home as possible as we can. Second, we can focus more on medical business, for example, masks.
