Week 7 [25.11 - 01.12.2019] What are the benefits of meditation?

I remember a time when meditation was an alien phenomenon for people, something new, unusual and inaccessible. There were many people who wanted to try just to say that they practice meditation, but in fact, many of them didn't know why they do that and how to do it.  It's easy to say "concentrate on your breath" and just breath, but it's not so easy to do so. The most common Beginner's Guide.
So let's see how meditation works and how it affects our brain.

1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?

1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
No, the idea of just sitting doing nothing doesn't really appeal to me.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
I knew about some of them but the research about sharpening your mind as a result of meditation was astounding to me.
1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
I've never tried meditation before. I don't feel the need for meditation. Besides, I don't know exactly how it works and how I should do it correctly. I just don't want to meditate yet.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
Unfortunately, I didn't know about the facts mentioned in the movies. As I said, I wasn't interested in meditation before. I'm glad I could read about it.

1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
Yes i tried it, it sometimes is my ace when it comes to falling asleep, normally i'm sleeping five seconds after i close my eyes but when sometimes i have to go to sleep at 7pm because i have to drive during the night, then meditation is a way to do it.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
Yes I was aware of it, I watched several videos of that type in the past.

1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
I have tried meditation just once and that was because of curiosity. That was difficult to literally don't think about anything for 15 minutes.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
No, I didn't. It was quite interesting for me as I didn't suspect that meditation could help in rebuilding connections between neurons. I rather thought that we need mental effort to keep our brains in good condition.
Kristina Moroz said…
Well, yes, it's hard not to think during the meditation or concentrate on one thing. And obviously it doesn't come after first try. It need to be practiced.
Kristina Moroz said…
It's no problem if you haven't tried it. Not everyone should do this but for someone it could tremendously helpful.
Kristina Moroz said…
There are a lot of meditation techniques and not all of them required to "doing nothing". It's about making you brain more concentrated and attentive.
So yes, because of training your brain you sharpen your mind. Pretty impressive.

1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
I've never tried it though I would love to. I've heard great things about it from my mates.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
Yes, most of them at least, never heard the specifics of how it affects our brain.
In elementary school I started to attend aikido classes. At the beginning and end of each class there is a moment of silence, which is like meditation, but much shorter. If I can consider the situation described above as meditation, then I meditated.
I knew some of the facts and not some. I know that meditation comes from East Asia, but it has also been present in India for a long time as part of their religion.

1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
I've never tried meditating seriously because I didn't go into it. However, after visiting the place of Buddha's apparition this summer, where very many people are sitting and meditating, I started to be interested in it and I even consider starting meditation.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
No, I wasn't aware of most of the benefits of meditation, it's just an additional reason to try.
PIOTR PAWLAK said…
1. I have never tried to meditate and I think it is not for me. However, I know that many famous people meditate every day saying that it helps them in their daily lives.

2. Yes, I have heard of many of them. Still, it didn't convince me to meditation.

1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?

No, I’ve never tried it, but I’m interested in learning something more about it. The idea of sitting/lying down idly always restrained me from trying it out, but on the other hand, I have nothing to lose, and it turns out it can be really beneficial to our health.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?

Yes, I did. Especially when it comes to stress reduction, mood boost and intensively developed neural connections. I must admit that the idea of introducing meditation to everyday life was always quite tempting. My brain is a bit overresponsive so helping it calm down the thought process and focus only on necessities, especially during the nighttime would be a blessing.
Olha Romaniuk said…
No, I've never tried meditation. Because I haven't fully figured out how to do it. Is it an individual job or are there any mantras...? Actually, as in the case of yoga, I need to prepare :)

But the video presents weighty arguments. And, combining work and study, I think I will come to this very soon.
1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
I've never tried to meditate and I don't really want to give it a chance. It would be hard for me to fall into the habit of meditating everyday (say about 30 minutes) to fully utilize my free time. I believe that somehow meditation can really help clear mind and focus attention on important thoughts. However, I also think that just learning how to meditate correctly and the correct form of this activity would also take a long time. I don't know if the results would be measurable in any way and whether I would really notice any changes.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
I wasn't aware of all the facts presented in the film, but as soon as the topic of meditation appears somewhere, I always have a picture of clearing someones thoughts of unnecessary information, charging some kind of energy and regenerating mind. I'm convinced and particularly interested in research on removing unnecessary connections in the nerve circuits that store irrelevant information, and improving those connections that are very important to us and we use them most often.
1. Yes, I started learning meditation for about a month. I always spend about 30 minutes in the morning before work and college, trying to calm down. I don't use the phone, I try not to think about everyday worries, just I imagine beaches and the ocean. Rob Gryn encouraged me to such activity. Such a daily ritual allows me to complete my tasks faster.I think I will develop this hobby.
2.To be honest, I knew about these things. As I mentioned earlier, I watched Rob Gryn vlogs. He is one of the most interesting Polish entrepreneurs and willingly talks about how he succeeded. Currently, I'm trying to encourage friends to meditate, in my opinion it helps to discover new energy and discover a new self.
Kristina Moroz said…
I haven't heard about Rob Gryn but I know a lot of entrepreneurs who practice meditation in the morning and during the day. Well, a lot of them claim that morning is the most important part of the day. And I can't disagree with them.
Piotr Bednarek said…
1. I've never tried meditation, because I don't feel a necessity. It's said that meditation help clear the mind, focus and relax, but I think that sport and motocross are better to reduce stress and anxiety, feel better.

2. I didn't know the facts that was mentioned in the movie, so i'm content to watch it. It's really intresting that there is do many benefits od meditation. The fact that erderly that meditate regularly have better sight than teenagers.

1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
No I haven't. I think I don't need it for now. But when I am overworked and overworried it would be great to relax and take a rest for my mind. Also I think the same you may get the same level of rest If you go sports, especially in a form of games.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
I've heard about some benefits of meditation, but not the exact ones, so there is a bit of information I haven't known.

1. I was trying to meditate once, but I didn't success. Maybe I wasn't doing it properly or didn't find the proper techinque for me. I think I should try it one more time someday, but to be honest I'm not motivated enough to do so in the near future.

2. I'd heard about them. Moreover meditation reduces anxiety, so I guess that's why it helps in brain development.
1. No, I haven't, I've never felt a need for that. While I believe that meditation might be good for relieving stress, etc. in my opinion doing hobbies is also a good way of doing it. But I might try it in the future.

2. I knew about some of them like possibility of reducing stress and enhancing memory.
Did you ever try meditation? Why?
I have tryed meditation. I wanted to see what will change when i will do it.

Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
Actually no. I did know that meditation can have some good affects on our health and mind but didnt know about the studies.
1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?

I've never really tried to meditate. But I think it's a very interesting topic and I'll try it one day. Apparently now there are a lot of applications that allow you to learn the basic techniques of meditation and also contain sounds that are supposed to facilitate meditation. In today's busy world I think it's worth finding a moment to calm your mind.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?

I did not know that meditation could affect the physical connections in our brain, their reconstruction and strengthening. If this is true and further research will confirm it, it is even more worth to be interested in this subject.
1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
Yes, I tried and found the effects of Meditation, which changed my life enormously.
I consider meditation as the most effective way to train your brain to concentrate and focus better. It strengthens your attention muscle and brings in positivity. Personally speaking, I have benefitted a lot and thus, I recommend everyone to go through this art of healing.
If there are loads of negative thoughts bothering you, practicing meditation will help you.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
Yes I knew it because I have a book "Search inside yourself" and most of those facts mentioned there. It's actually deep topic to talk and think because for each personality there's special way to meditate and feel total concentration.

1. Yes, I did. To concentrate on my training, threw out all thoughts, that was connecting me with world outside of place where I come to find the way.
2. Theoretically – no, but some of them I have felt by myself. How it makes you to here how you breath and every move around you instantly makes you gathered and ready.
Kuba Berliński said…

1. No, I didn't. I have never been interested in the topic and never tried it myself. Though in the future perhaps...

2. More or less, yes. For years it's been known that the meditation may have a good impact on human's midn and body. I can even recal hearing that in some cases it could almost replace sleeping.
Bartosz Waś said…
1. No I haven't. I don't think that sitting and thinking for 15 minutes could actually help in anything but I could try it for a while to check myself.
2. No I have never bee too interested in the topic of mediation.

No, I never tried to meditate, I didn't even think about it. Many times I saw how people do it in films, and heard that it can be useful and after watching this video it doesn't cause me any doubt. But still it seems to me that I'm too young for this, maybe someday I'll think about it, but, of course, not in the next couple of years.

1. I happened to try, the main reason was curiosity, but it's not for me, i'm too impatient.

2. The information provided is nothing new to me. As I said, I used to practice meditation.

1. No, I have never tried meditation. It’s just because I’ve never been interested in this, I didn’t read articles, watch videos or interviews about meditation. So I don’t know anything about this topic.

2. As I said in my previous answer I know nothing about meditation, so all the information are entirely new for me. But I have to admit it’s really interesting how much meditation influence our brains and bodies. Now I think I’m gonna gain an insight into that and maybe I will even try meditation soon.
1. Actually it was suggested to me many times by my friends but I never really tried. Probably mostly because I don't have much patience, and to calm myself down i prefer longer (rather fast) walks in forest. Occasionally stopping to take some pictures and just watch and listen to nature in peace.

2. I've heard about most of them (probably from my friends who encouraged me to try meditation). I think it's interesting and worth considering to try it one day.
1. I have never tried meditation because I think it is a fake and a waste of time. I prefer to spend time doing some sport, e.g. swimming. After swimming, I feel very well and I am rested.

2. No, I was not aware about the facts mentioned in the video. This is something new for me, but it still sound fake to me.
I have never tried to meditate because I don't know how ?
But of course I would love to learn it, it can be an interesting experience. Unfortunately, I didn't know that, meditation is new to me. Also, the video did not help me at all

1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
Yes, I practice meditation from time to time, unfortunately not on a regular basis. But I would very much like to change it, that is, to bring it into everyday life. I first tried this as an experiment. Why? Because I just read and heard about the benefits of meditation, and decided to try it. In general, I can say that this experiment ended successfully, and I discovered for myself a new facet of life. Just after the first time, of course, I did not feel something cosmic, but I liked the feeling of inner satisfaction.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
Yes, what I described in the answer to the first question is the answer to your second question. Indeed, it was so when I got acquainted with meditation it all started with a study of its benefits, and most of the facts I already knew. In the past 10 years, as was said in the video, every time new useful properties of this phenomenon are discovered. At the time when I first tried meditation was not popular. But recently, I notice an increase in the number of people who are interested in this. I am very pleased with this phenomenon.

1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
I did multiple times, but I stopped doing that lately. I must get back to that, because It really gave me a great feeling and it was even very fun to do. Struggling to think and feel as little as possible is hard, but then you realize how many thoughts and stimuluses you receive every second. Cutting this sources for a couple of minutes a day can definitely be benefitial for everyone when done on regular basis.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
Yes I did. Those are the reasons why I have even started meditating.
1. Yes, I tried to meditate once, but it didn't work. Of course, I realize I won't learn it in a day, but I haven't tried it again. It's good for us, but I think I don't want to waste time on it. I'd rather do exercise instead of meditation.

2. I know it is good for the body and mind. Meditation helps you relax and collect your thoughts. But the specific facts mentioned in the video, I didn't know.
1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
I have a huge problems with anger control, so I try to meditate every morning, and I use a guided meditation to fall asleep.
2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
Yes, I have studied the question, when I was trying to deal with my anger. It is a healthy habit that is useful for everyone.
1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
Never. I do sometimes starching, but as I see this is totally different area.
2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
I knew some of them, but I got caught in this presentation by the statement that it can increase my attention and ability to store and manipulate information in one time. This is cool. I'm going to try.
1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
I tried, but I couldn't manage to sit down and do nothing for 20 minutes. Although I really like the idea I don't know how to do it yet.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
I have heard about the fact that meditation can reduce stress and lower blood pressure. Although I didn't know it can be so beneficial, especially with the hippocampus capacity, which is amazing how meditation can improve physical condition of our brains.

1) Did you ever try meditation? Why?
Yes, I meditate every morning. And I try to meditate when I have emotional problems or I'm nervous. Meditation helps me to calm down and "take a breath".
2) Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
No, I've never heard about the facts mentioned in this video. But, I was surprised and this information is really helpful for me because I like to meditate.

1. Yes, I tried meditation a long time ago. Mainly to try something new and to check if it's really so good. But I was disappointed. It's nothing special.

2. Yes, I knew those things. But I felt no changes with this meditation and don't believe in these "facts" now.
1. No, the idea of meditation doesn't really appeal to me.

2. Yes, I did know about some of them from various sources, but the research about how you can sharpen your mind with meditation was a big surprise for me.
1. No, I thought it's just not working. For me it was just another type of relaxing.

2. As I said before I thought it's normal relaxing. I'm a bit surprised about these facts. I'm going to check these on my own.

1)Yes, it is a part of the traditional martial arts curriculum. Doing it for about 5 minutes before the training starts will help you to temporarily set aside any thoughts that were bothering you during the day and hence, more easily concentrate on the training, which in turn makes is more efficient and reduces the chances of getting hurt due to the negligence.
2)No, I was ignorant about most of the critical information that was in the video. It is very nice that the author posted the links to the research papers he was referring to. A courtesy, that is extremely rare on the internet.

1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?
I haven’t tried meditation yet, I think it’s because I get bored very very quickly, and its hard for me to “do nothing”.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
I have heard some things about It before, but knowing that an actual research is behind this claims was a surprise for me, I have always thought that it was some kind of new age mumbo jumbo.
1. No, I have never tried meditation. I have never felt the need to meditate.

2. I did not know about all the facts contained in the film. I always thought that meditation allows me to calm down and master my thoughts. I had no idea that it sharpens the senses and affects our concentration so much.
1. Did you ever try meditation? Why?

I tried it for 5 min but for me, it was very hard to relax and didn't stress out on everything. But I want to try one more time, maybe now it will be more productive and be more interesting.

2. Did you know about the facts mentioned in the video?
I knew some of them. Thank you for sharing this video, it was useful and I learned something new. Besides it, now I want to try one more time to meditate and research the topic.

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and naturally.
