Week 6 [18.11 - 24.11.2019] - Swapping lives with a stranger for 72 hours

Social experiments have been always an exciting topic for me. These kind of experiments in Psychology is a category of Human Resources which test a human’s reaction to certain situation or event. As a thought-provoking example I consider the video of a hugely popular Youtube channel - Yes Theory. In the team of three they explore foreign cultures and social experiments. In the following video they find two strangers from different countries and swap their lives for 72 hours.
It is truly fascinating not only how people can accept such propositions, but also be able to enjoy the outcome of the experiment.

  1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
  2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
  3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?

Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
I think a spontaneous change of life with a stranger would be a very interesting experience. In my opinion it is a good lesson to learn to appreciate your life, but also to see what aspects need to be improved. I think it is an opportunity to get to know yourself better.

How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
I try to be open to people on the street, I try to help them and answer their questions. However, I hate intrusive people, hate people who are picking on me for no reason, I don't want to have any relationships with strangers.

What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
I don't remember the very strange proposals I got from strangers. They are usually quite normal.

I think I would agree to swap. It's great opportunity to learn something new and maybe appreciate what you have.

How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
It depends on the situation but mostly I try to help people.

What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
It wasn't proposition but the weirdest thing I can think of at the moment is situation when a random girl came up to me and asked if I could wait wait with her dog in front of the store. I did :-)
1. Of course I wouldn't agree to swap my life with a stranger. This is absurd in my opinion. We have one life and we should experience the best we can. If we had the opportunity to swap life, our existence and purpose of existence and survival would be pointless.

2. Honestly? At first, I am usually confused and ask for repetition, then I answer.

3. Somehow I can't remember the strange suggestion. I don't think I had one.

Hmm depends, maybe after PJATK during leave at work, could be nice experience.

2.How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
Depends on the question, usually after a second of processing the information I kindly reply.

3.What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
The stranger wanted to me to go to church and prey. I refused and moved on.

No, not really. I'd like however if it was a possibility to swap genders / bodies with my girlfriend for a day :)

How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
I'm usually not in a big rush so i try to be helpful to the best of my ability.

What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
I tried to recall anything unusual but i don't recall anything particular. Usually strangers ask for directions etc. and i'm willing to help out or check on my phone and show them the route if they don't have the possibility.
1. It is a very interesting but difficult question. On the one hand it could be a nice experience but on the other risky. If we lead a calm and arranged life and exchange with a person who leads a completely different lifestyle, crazy and unconventional it can be a shock. However, thanks to such experiments, we can see what to change in our lives to make it even better. Personally, I don't think I would dare to do that.

2. I usually try to be nice and kind. However, the mentality of people in our country and present times are not conducive to being open to people, for new acquaintances. The vast majority listen to music on headphones or are stuck on the phone.

3. I have never had situation like this. Usually these are normal questions like how to get to a certain place or what time it is.

1. I rather try to swap live with stranger to try something alse. It could show new point of view on life.
2.Usually i listening calmly what they want and if it's waste of my time i just go away or help them if they need.
3.They always asking about money or alcohol.
S20108
1. No, I would never agree to it. Although I lead an intense lifestyle, sometimes very tiring, I am happy with it. I like my life, I create my present and future myself. I make informed choices, I have set goals. That sounds serious, but it's true.

2. It depends what the request is and how the person behaves. I usually try to help such a person. On the other hand, if a stranger is drunk or aggressive - I don't pay attention to them.

3. I don't remember ever having a strange request. Usually these are questions about the way, about the cigarette. He often gets weird messages on social media - but he doesn't respond to that.
Piotr Bednarek said…
1. Yes, I would. This idea has a nice ring to it. In my opinion it's great way to get to know someone better, understand her/his problems and appreciate life. When strengers come from diverse social background or countries it may be exciting experience.

2. If I'm not in hurry, I will help strengers that ask me about something on the street. I think that such behavior is polite and speak well of me. Of course, if a stranger is agressive or intrusing I always avert my eyes and walk away, because there is no use to start conversation.

3. To be honest I don't remember any weird proposition that strangers offered me. Sometimes someone asked me out, but I don't perceive it as something bizarre. When it comes to an unusual proposition when I was in Barcelona a lot of strangers offered me drugs.
Kuba Berliński said…

1. I don't know. It kind of depends what life would the stranger live. If I were to try something different but good, sure. Though if it was a "trap" I wouldn't like to swap.

2. Kind of general question, but if I'm able to do what they ask for and it is pleasing or not non-pleasing to me I react like any normal person, which is try to help the other.

3. Depends on how weird it is to various people. Once while waiting outside of biedronka there was a drugged guy walking by and he kindly offered to beat me, which I politely refused.

Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
Now, most likely not, I think it would be more interesting if I were offered this when I would be in my country. In the meantime, I'm studying, and I need to do my homework.
No. I'm kidding. I just mean that it would be more interesting to exchange lives with the indigenous people of different countries. That is, if they run a program in Japan, then with real Japanese, in Ethiopia with Ethiopians. Therefore, since I am not at home, it will be difficult for them to show real life. Thus there may be a more interesting cultural exchange.

How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
Always different. I don’t know what it depends on. But I usually see from afar people who want to contact me. And it is often clear in advance whether a person needs help or is he a potential kidnapper of your time. And I can say focus on these sensations.

What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
What is the strangest offer you ever received from a stranger?
Honestly, nothing so surprising comes to mind. But recently there was a case when a schoolboy came up to me (the fact that he was a schoolboy was visible by his uniform) and said: “Come on if I collect the Rubik's cube in 15 seconds, you will give me money (for understanding, it was about 5 bucks). I refused, saying that he shouldn't worry and I believe that he will do it. So that's it.
1. Yeah, why not, but only for day or two! I like my life and I don't want to change it with someone else for ever. But this swap could be new experience. Maybe I would be able to learn something new, who knows
2. Depends who and what wants from me. I always stops and reply. Leaving and saying nothing is kidna rude in my opinion. For someone this is their job to ask something strangers on the street and we can't be mad at them
3. Maybe not the weirdest but still you don't hear it very often. Once old lady stops me and ask me if I can tell her how to get to some street (i don't remember how it was called). I replyed and also said that I'm going there. So she again asked me if she can go with me so she won't get lost. So I agreed and we went for about 10 minutes togheter. She was very grateful. I think that was my "weirdest" propostition from a stranger
1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
Nah, not really. I don't like this idea because it involves the lack of any insight on the life of a stranger. If such an exchange were to occur, it would first be necessary to set certain conditions and find out a bit about the life of the other person. Personally, I would never agreed to such an idea spontaneously, because, after all, my present life isn't in a good condition, and it can always get worse.

2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
I'm a shy person and I don't like interacting with strangers. However, when it comes to strangers on the street, they most often ask for directions, for the time, or for the route of public transport. Then I have no contraindications not to give them information. The most awkward situations for me are encounters with homeless or poor people who are asking for some money. Then, most often, I give them a few pennies, I don't enter into conversation, and I go my way.

3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
Only one situation comes to my mind, maybe the man who came up to me didn't ask for anything strange, because he asked for money, but the way he started talking to me totally surprised me. He began greeting me with his short story that he had just left prison, sat for assaults and beatings, and now there is nowhere for him to go. His stare was wild, his tone was very specific, so attacking and nervous, although he seemed fine after all, so I gave him some money. But it wasn't because he seemed okay, but rather I was afraid of him and constantly thought how to get out of this situation in one piece.
1) As my privacy is highly important for me I guess I would never be able or willing to do such a thing. I'm also not very interested in making such random "connections" with people.

2) I am mostly confused and hope they will leave me alone as soon as possible.

3) Strangers are mostly asking me for quite normal things like how to get somewhere or what hour is it. I don't remember any particularly weird situation.
Maciej Szczypek said…
1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
I really would, but only for reasonable duration like a couple of days just to get an overall view how it is to be the stranger. It could be really interesting experience no matter what life would that person have.

2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
There is nothing special about it and there is no special reaction from me. I just try to help them and answer their questions, mostly about directions. However, if someone asks me to give him money, I never do that and behave rather grumpily.

3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
Luckily, I do not recall any weird proposition from strenger. I actually can think of like only 5-6 types of questions I have ever got from strangers and they were quite casual.

Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
I think not, I am good with my own life, though it would be an interesting experience, to live a week, for example, as a president.
How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
Usually I am resentful. Something that has not wear itself off after years from my previous life living in one of the most dangerous countries in the world.
What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
To buy a napkin from him, probably. Happened here, in Warsaw :)
1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?

I think it would be an interesting experience but I wouldn't dare to decide on it.

2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?

Most often, I try to find out what this person may be talking about. When it comes to extorting money, I usually just leave. However, when it comes to some small help or completing a survey, I try to help.

3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?

I have never encountered any strange proposition from strangers.
Kgajewska said…
1. Nope, definetly not right now. Maybe when I will be in my 30's and I will have more stable situation.

2.Usually I'm avoiding them as much as I can, but at first I'm always terrified and I'm freaking out like crazy. Next it depends on the question - if it's about money I just leave, but I'm trying to help whenever I can.

3. I have never heard any weird proposition from strangers, usually I'm asked about money or pointing the right direction to given location.
1. With a complete stranger? No, I don’t think so. It sounds like an interesting experience but with too many “buts” so I’d rather pass.
2. Well, if it just a tourist or a stranger who got lost or something like that, I try to help them as best as I can but usually it’s just “Sorry, do you have a minute to talk about…” or some guy begging to help him with his hangover.
3. Haven’t had any strange propositions, always the same as I stated previously.
Pawel Bluszcz said…
1. I think it would be possible. However, I'm not an extrovert and it might not last long.
2. I respond differently depending on request. If I see that someone wants something from me, e.g. money, I ignore him. However, if he asks for directions, I always try to help. But generally, I try to avoid contact with strangers.
3. Personally, I didn't have any strange propositions. Once someone wanted to borrow a bike from me, but I knew that I would see it for the last time :D
1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
I don't think it makes sense, I would still be myself. The difference would be that I would have found myself in a different environment and had other resources at my disposal.
2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
I think I react normally. I listen to questions and, as far as possible and willingness, I respond to their expectations.
3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
I didn't get any strange proposition from a stranger. In fact, even a normal proposal was never available. More often, the stories I heard from strangers are weird.
1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?

No way. I appreciate my privacy and it would definately be a violation of it. I don;t want to be in anyone else's shoes and I don't want anyone to be in mine as well. It might be an interesting experience but still - no way.

2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?

It depends, but usually I try to keep my guard up. I have heard enough about tricks used on people to rob them so I always have this thought somewhere around. Some may say that I am a bad human being or something because I am not willing to help others, but not all of those people need my help and I might be suffering some losses after being to naive. You need a tissue or directions? Ok. You want some money or to use my phone? It is not gonna happen.

3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?

Not long ago a nun asked me and my girlfriend to take her money and buy her a cup of coffee while she was on a walk with a child. That was weird, but how can you refuse to help a nun? Things got a little bit weirder when she asked my girlfriend to keep an on the child while she checks something inside the cafe. In the end everything went fine and she turned out to be a very kind person.
1.Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
Yes,definitely.

2.How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
Depends on my time and humor but usually I am not interested.

3.What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
Let him make a phonecall to his wife, thats it.
Ivan Mazuryk said…
1. Rather yes than no. Live a couple of days another person’s life, I believe it's an interesting experience.

2. It directly depends on what exactly stranger would ask, but I usually wear headphones on the streets, so I'm not frequently stopped by strangers.

3. I can't remember any strange proposition from a stranger.
1. Although my life isn't perfect and maybe even boring at times, I wouldn't swap my life with someone else. But swapping lives for one day would be fun. Besides, it would be a good experience, because then I would face different situations to which I am not accustomed.

2. I get a little nervous when I talk to strangers, but if I can help, of course, I will.

3. I can't answer because I don't remember. But I don't think I've ever received weird requests from strangers.

1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?

That’s a difficult question, but rather not. Maybe it sounds narcissistic, but I like myself and it is difficult for me to imagine myself in a different body with different views and problems. I don’t want to add up any problems to my life.

2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?

It is often the case that someone asks me something on the street. Of course, I always try to answer and help if only I could.

3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?

I have never had a strange proposal, I think. Maybe, only when I was a child, a stranger offered me sweets. I did not accept this proposal.
Roman Dubovyi said…
1. No, I enjoy being myself :).

2. My most frequent reaction is “can you repeat please?”. And when s/he repeats, it depends. If they ask a direction or some info I usually answer them trying to help them.

3. I was once walking in LA and a black man in rapper clothing asked me if I want a copy of his mixtape. It felt strange.

1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
I think I probably wouldn’t agree to swapping lives with a stranger. I’m not really spontaneous, I like to plan everything.

2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
I don’t really know. I think.. normal, but to be honest every time I’m a little surprised when a stranger asks me about something. It’s not really common nowadays, when everyone can google everything on their phones.

3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
The weirdest proposition I have ever received from a strangers was an invite to their party, I was just going back home from one and a group of strangers approached me and asked if I would like to join them.
1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
Of course, I would agree to a spontaneous exchange of life with a stranger. It was a wonderful experience. You can experience so many adventures. I think that would give me the opportunity to enjoy your life.
I could appreciate my life, maybe others are much worse, which would give me great satisfaction that I can create wonderful conditions. It could also be that I would just see what I am doing wrong and change. It could be considered that others have better ideas for life.

2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
Normally :). This is not unusual. I live in Warsaw, where there are a lot of people, many tourists and often someone accosts me and asks for directions, a recommended place, monuments or even history. It's wonderful that I can help someone. I feel so helpful then.
However, I don't like it when you accost me of people from the foundation on the street. I have heard of many scammers and try to transfer only to proven foundations. I also don't like it when someone asks me for PLN 2 for a beer. If I had time and PLN 2 I'd like to have a beer myself :). This is an exception when I don't like it when a stranger accosts me on the street.

3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
Recently, when I was at the gas station, an unknown guy came up to me with a dog in his arms. He asked me to take him to the vet. He said someone had poisoned his dog. I did it because his story captivated me and I really wanted to help this dog. Although the guy seems very strange to me ...

1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?

No, I don’t think so. I am not that spontaneous and having lack of any information about that person and her/his life I would never make that call.

2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?

I depends on what they’re asking. I have never experienced anything weird on the street, mostly it’s normal stuff like directions, time or something like that. In that case I react normally and always answer they’re question if I know the answer.

3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?

As I said, nothing weird has happened to me. But my friend’s stepfather was once asked if he wants to play a rapist in one of tv shows that was hosted at that time in TVN.

Yurii Gevtsi said…
1. For 72 hours I would try, but if the question is not for 72 hours, but in general, then I wouldn't. Because, it is as if you were watching a movie and turned it off in the middle and started to watch another from the middle. You don't know how the first will end, and also don't know what the second film is about and what happened in the first part.
Therefore, I would not want to change ... except maybe with someone very rich :)

2. I think first of all it will depend on who ask me and how he will do it. If this is someone inadequate or he will do it in a rude way, then I just won't talk to him.
If this is a kind of normal person, then I will try to help than I can.

3. I don’t remember anything strange or abnormal.Basically, the answer to this question lies in the previous one. If someone once proposed something similar, then I most likely didn't attach any importance to this and forgot it.

1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?

I think this kind of experiment would be interesting and fun if only the person you changed with won't leave you a bunch of problems after. But yes it's a life changing experience.

2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?

I guess, I'd suggest to drink coffee and have a little chat. Just to get to know this stranger a little better.

3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
Well, I'm not sure that I've heard something weird like this one.
Mateusz Szych said…
1. No, I wouldn't. I prefer to live without strange experiments.

2. It depends on the question. I easily answer simple questions about time or location. For more complex questions, I usually say I don't have time.

3. I don't remember anyone asking me a weird question.
1. It could be an interesting experience so I would definitely agree. I could learn new things and see how others’ lives look like.

2. I always try to be kind and helpful if I see that the person is normal. I try to treat people the way I want to be treated.

3. I don’t remember the weirdest situation but it happens quite often that people ask on the street for alcohol or cigarettes. I appreciate when they don’t lie that they need money for food or ticket. I would rather give him the money for alcohol if they told me it directly.
Olga Przytula said…
1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?

No, I would never. I’m really private and withdrawn kind of person when it comes to letting people in my life. Plus, I’m not entirely sure it’s a safe and responsible idea. Moreover, people like to paint their lives better than they truly are. So from the outsiders perspective, one’s life usually looks better than it really is. We can observe it best on social media platforms where people tend to share the best highlights of their lives without showing their followers their daily struggles. So even when it might seem tempting to swap one’s life with somebody, probably you would be disappointed.

2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?

I usually try to hear them out and talk to them, if I have some spare time to use. When they are polite and cultural, I don’t have a problem with hearing them out or even helping them out if it’s possible. Of course my attitude hugely depends on the impression they make on me. When they seem calm and tidy, I am the most inclined to help them out. Sometimes something about them disturbes me or makes me uncomfortable. That’s when I tend to be reluctant to help.

3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?

Once, when I was coming back home with a huge luggage a guy approached me. I was getting out of the subway and he started to carry my bag because I, and that’s a quote : “glanced at him, and he thought that meant I was interested”. My phone was discharged, and he refused to give me my bag back, unless I let him walk me home. I did. We went to a different estate, just next to the main road and police station. It was awful.
1.Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
However, following this idea, I wouldn't like to do it.
2.How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
I don't have a problem with that. I always made friends very quickly. Only when a stranger with a strange or suspicious appearance asks me questions, I don't answer.
3.What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
Recently, I got a proposal to go to the store with a stranger to pick him some pants.
Szymon Kluczek said…
1. Yes, I would agree for that. I think it could be really interesting experience and at the same time good adventure both for me and the stranger. Undoubtedly such project carries also some difficulties, like for example stranger’s daily life’s issues which he/she struggles with each day and which of course can be totally different than these we face everyday in our lives. But anyway I’d like to try to live a life of stranger for a day or two.

2. I am very talkative and outgoing person, so I always answer and try to help he or she as far as possible. Friendly attitude within society is something we all should aim for, undeniably. I think it’s very important to be kind to others, because you never know when you will need help from someone.

3. Once I was invited to go to house-warming party which was taking place the following day. It was probably the weirdess proposition I’ve ever got, but I think it was also kind and funny, after all it’s really unwonted situation.
1. I would certainly not agree to change my life with a stranger, because I like my current life. The situation would look different if someone close to me would change my life.
2. It depends on the circumstances and what he asks. If a person needs help, I always try to answer the question.
3. I once got a proposal from a completely oppressive person to join a poker evening. I think this is relatively strange.
1. Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
I don’t think so. It’s looks fun at beginning, but it can bring too much problem with time.
2. How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
If this is a normal question, then I answer If something stupid then I walk away.
3. What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
I don’t remember any weird proposition received from a stranger.

1) I think I'd agree to do something like that. It'll be a great experience, I can compare my life and start to appreciate it even more. Although, there can be a lot of problems associated with the daily difficulties of one of the participants.
2) More likely, I will be shocked by such an offer. And I couldn't imagine such a situation when people will offer me to change life with strangers! I will need some time to think. But I would probably agree to take this offer.
3) My life is very boring and I've never gotten any strange offers.

1) Hell no. Mine life is solely for me to live.
2)That would depend on the circumstances it would happen, how the above-mentioned stranger would present, and behave himself. If it's is in the middle of the city and a well-looking person will come over and politely ask something, I wouldn't have any reason to refuse. If it is in the middle of the night and some drunk person will approach me and rudely demand something, then any politeness and civility would clearly be unwarranted.
3)I was once asked to give a considerable sum of money for Jesus by some guy in the priest robe. I doubt Jesus needed my money so much, and I'm pretty sure the priest was a fake one.
1. I like my privacy and that idea about swapping with stranger is totally negation of privacy, so of course I wouldn't agree.

2. I would be surprised. I think I would just ignore him and walk away. I know it's rude but I don't like this type of questions.

3. I didn't have such situation. I cannot answer for this question.

What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?

1. Actually I really like my life, I like how it's going, hits and flops, and I wouldn't want to take someone's else life. As much as I think of this as quite interesting idea, I can't see many advantages of doing this. You still will be back to your normality and what will you do if you actually like being someone else? Feeling of empty, trying to change yourself. But these are only my personal doubts.

2. I really try to do something which may help the other person. My attitude usually shows openness and being friendly. In that situation I like to think in way in which I'm seeking help and would really want that someone really can help me. I wouldn't want to be left on ice, so I try to act the same when I'm on the opposite site. However, there could be situation that I'm not in the right mood for this. If someone's who needed help and I didn't help is reading this, I apologise.

3. Weird situations bypass me fortunately. One time I was offered free gym pass in Cracow, but I don't remember anything more interesting than this.

1. The question is not specified, because the material is about 72 hours experiment. If it is going to be on 72 hours, I would try it. In my current situation, I am able to do something like this. Moreover I think it is a great opportunity to meet new people and learn new culture. On the other hand, if it is going like more time, I would not to try it, propably I will miss my family to much.

2. It depends what is he asking for. I like to talk with the strangers. I am a curious person, so I will probably talk with him.

3. The first what came to my mind is the situation which had been about 2 years ago. Some random guys wants me to do push ups on the street to help some kids. It was some kind of charity action.
Would you agree to spontaneously swap lives with a stranger?
I'm not sure that I would agree, i like my life. On the other hand, I would like to try for a couple of days a life of professional urban dancer :)
How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
There is nothing special in my reaction, I'm kind and trying to help.
What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
Go with a group of Turkish tourists to the night club and then to their apartment. It was disgusting.

I think it's too much for me to swap just like that life with another.

2.How do you react when a stranger asks you about something on the street?
I hardly depends how someone asks and for what purpose but I try my best to help those people

3.What is the weirdest proposition you have ever received from a stranger?
I can't remember any situation at the moment.
Swapping bodies with someone is an entirely different story, but it for sure would be an eye-opening experience! It’s true, we don’t often face such odd situations, but it’s good to remain kind and friendly in every small interaction.
I agree, swapping lives with someone definitely gives you a whole new perspective on your own life! Maybe you could reconsider your approach towards strangers, I feel like it’s a little bit unfair to claim that they always ask for money or alcohol (which, by the way, is often an effect of addiction which is a disease, so however unpleasant this interaction may be, we should always remember to be kind to people, because we don’t know their story, nor what they might be going through).

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and naturally.
