Week 8 [21.05-27.05.2018] Beer

Have you ever tried to count how many bottles of beer do you drink every year? Avarage ingestion of beer in Poland is estimated at 98 litres per each adult person. It’s about 196 bottles per year, so statistically we are drinking beer more than two bottles per every 3 days. In case of students, it’s much more because about 1,5 bottle per day. These statistics place our country at 4th position in Europe. It’s impressive, isn’t it?

Have you ever tried to brew beer? In this article, I’ll try to explain how to do that and second article will be about most popular beer types. The main ingredient of beer is naturally well known hop but at first we have to grind a malt into the powder. Then we have to pour the powder into a big vat, mix and slowly heat up. The third step of making beer is flitrating obtained extract and transfering the purified liquid into the first barrel called „front barrel”. Extract with hop is boiled in front barrel and slowly cooled down – it’s a main point of brewing beer. During this process we are getting a lot of slugde on the top of big barrel. Undesirable leftover after boiling has to be separated and a clear liquid is poured into next barrel where beer is oxygenated. The last process is fermentation. Here we have to add various types of yeast depending on the brewed beer. It’s the simplest way of brewing beer. Each kind of beer need to be treated specifically.

1) Have you ever tried to brew beer?
2) Did you know the process of brewing?
3) How often do you drink beer?

I've never tried to brew beer but my cousin did and I had opportunity to see it. It sounds complicated but after gaining some experience it's not a problem anymore. I can't also say that I knew the process of brewing but I've heard about few things mentioned in article before. Sometimes I drink beer everyday when it's hot outside but sometimes I drink only at weekends so it depends but I like it ;)

No, I haven't tried to brew my own beer. I heard that usually home-made beer are rather bad and I just prefer to go to the shop and buy one. ;P I believe that it takes a lot of time and practice to make your own beer that tastes good. I knew some basic things about process of brewing beer, but if you asked me in the middle of the night about it, I'd probably don't tell you anything. ;P I drink beer mostly during weekends and sometimes during a week when I feel like a beer or when there is some occasion.

Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to brew beer, because I have no idea where I would start. As I mentioned, I had no idea how to brew beer, only now when I read the article I learned a few facts
As for how much I drink beers, I cannot say because it depends on a few things, but I think on average 4 beers per week.

I haven't ever brew my own beer but I definitely want to try my own weizen.
Once I have visited a brewery in the Czech Republic. I even participated in a tour through the building so that I could see all the machines involved in the process of brewing. But I guess this, "factory" style of beer production differs a lot from home-brewing.
I like drinking beer, but I generally don't do it on my own, eg after work. I prefer to participate in social events to do that. So it varies how often I drink beer - sometimes it's several times a week and during exams it may be not at all.

Yes, I've tried to brew my own beer and unfortunately, I failed. I am not giving up and for sure I will try it one more time.

I know the whole process of brewing. In the beginning, it seems to be complicated but after some time it's becoming easy.

I am trying to reduce drinking beer because my organism is not tolerating it very well. I would say - no more than 2 beers per week.
I am not a great fun of beer and alcohol at all but I can let myself drink a bottle of beer once a couple of months. I have never tried to brew beer but I have heard that this is pretty hard and it’s literally impossible to brew a good beer at once.

No, I didn’t. I have heard how to do it for quite a few times but I have never had a passion to do it. It sounds and it is really complicated. As long as I don’t really like beer there is no point for me to do it.

As I have written before, it happens rarely. If I had to estimate I would say that I drink 5-10 liters per year.
I have never tried to brew beer, the only thing i brewed was kwass, and it is more of a fermentation oriented drink. I don't know the process of brewing beer but i'm sure i'll try to brew my own at some point, so i'm determined to learn the process. I drink beer like once in a month or something like that.

I haven’t tried to brew a beer, but I want to someday. I’m a beer geek and have tasted lots of different styles, also read couple of books so I do have an in-depth knowledge of how beer is produced. Probably in a near future I’ll try to make one myself but right now unfortunately I don’t have much time for that experiments. I drink 2 beers every weekend, sometimes more frequently if there is a party going on. I always try to drink new styles if are available, that gives me lots of fun!

I have never tried to brew my own beer and I doubt I am ever going to try that. I would really try to drink my own wine someday. I mean the real, dry wine. Not the one that is sugary beyond any boundaries (and is the most common one that people make at their homes.)
I didn't know the process of brewing the beer and I don't think it is common among people to brew their own beer since the prices of it aren't so bad. I think that the prices of ingredients could be much higher than going to the local store and buying a couple of bottles.
I don't drink beer that often, I usually prefer to drink wines and whisky. I am drinking it much more often than vodka, though. No one out there would be able to convince me that drinking vodka is fun. It's not tasty at all. Some might say that it's not about the taste being good. That's the kind of people that usually end the parties first.
I heard a lot about brew beer and i won't believe that i tried it yesterday. It was great! I would say that it is a real beer and everyone must try it. It tastes like you are trying something new in your life. It was unforgettable experience. I don't know the process of brewing but i imagine how it works. I'm not a fan of beer as i mentioned in the previous article, but when i have a time and desire i can not deny the fact that i like beer.

I never tried to brew beer. I would like to try one day because it must be a nice thing to make your own beer.

I don't know the process of beer brew. I have read the article and I know what and how, but it is still hard to imagine that I could do it.

I don't drink beer often, I rather try not to drink, but once a week I think I drink one beer.

No, I have never tried to brew my own beer. It's a waste of time for me, I prefer to buy good beer than making it on my own. It's easy to fail a whole process.
I don't know about process of brewing too much... only what my friend told me. You have to remember about temperature, time and any other factors to make a good beer.
It's hard to say but I think that 2 beers per weak is good average. It depends on situation and my free time.

No, I didn't, but I'm dreaming about it as a pleasureful hobby for an old me. I've visited beer factories few times and had excursion there, so I may say yes. I don't drink at all.

1) Have you ever tried to brew beer?
2) Did you know the process of brewing?
3) How often do you drink beer?

1. My father tried to brew a beer but he used a special syrup which was a mixed of diffrent kinds of hops. Maybe it was a shortcut in brewing a own beer but I have to say that it was quite tasty and we have a satisfaction that we can share our own beer with our friends.

2. I already said that I don't know much about the process of brewing but I am concious that it is not so easy to made a tasty beer.

3. It is hard to say but I think that on average I drink one or two beers per week. :D

1. No, I've never tried it, but it seems very interesting and on the other hand quite complicated.
2. More or less, because my friend tried once to make his own beer... aaand he failed(yo Fabian :D).
3. Not that often. Maybe 2 beers for a week or even for two weeks. I drink more beer only on some bbq's.

I have never tried it, but I have visited some beer museums, so I have got some information on that topic. Although I don't think I will use it somehow, because I prefer to drink beer in some special places in a good company. And it doesn't happen very often, so beer from pubs and shops is enough for me. When I lived near the Czech Republic I used to buy beer there, but the trip itself also counted as a nice time spending. So that beer was especially good.

1) Have you ever tried to brew beer?
No I don't.

2) Did you know the process of brewing?
I do, after reading this article.

3) How often do you drink beer?
I don't like taste beer, so I drank 2-3 bottles in the entire life.

No. I’m sure that I wouldn’t be able to brew good enough beer on a first try maybe on second also, so not even want to try it.
I do. I was on tour in a brewery in Lviv and Check Republic but for sure my knowledge is not enough to brew it by my own.
Beer is generally the only type of alcohol which I drinking so I can say that much often than other alcohols :)

I thought about this several times, but I couldn't gather my self to do it yet.
I don't know anything about this, that's why I thought about using ready solutions. Some companies sell prepared products, I mean all the equipment you need to brew a beer. It's the best option for newbies like me.

I drink beer too often. Most of the time two or more times a week ~6-10 bottles per week.

1) Have you ever tried to brew beer?
Nah, but I always wanted to try. I imagine it requires a lot of time and space to store these barrels, which always discouraged me from brewing some.

2) Did you know the process of brewing?
Well, I've heard it multiple times, but in my opinion I'm not interested enough to remember all the details and it all just fall apart in my memory. Thanks for refreshing this knowledge.

3) How often do you drink beer?
I had this time when I drunk beers each and every day for a quite long period of time, but finally I'm over it. Currently I tend to drink some kraft beers from time to time, just to chill with something cold, sour and delicious.
Yes, I tried couple of times and i need to admit that is the way better level than those we buy in markets. There are some places in Warsaw where you can try hand crafted beers and I do recommend to try them ! When drinking brew beers you can easier feel the flavour and taste some interesting mix of ingredients. No I don't know the process and I am guessing that it is time consuming and pretty hard.
I am not a beer person, and it is hard for me to say exact amount. It depends on the weather and my plans. Usually I could say that I am drinking about 3-4 bottles per week ( not always).
Are you joking when post 2 articles about alcohol especially beer (drink that I hate)?...

1) Have you ever tried to brew beer?
Yes but I hate it.

2) Did you know the process of brewing?
Yes, in Kiev we have factory "Obolon" that make a lot of beer not only for Ukraine but also to export.

3) How often do you drink beer?
I don't drink beer.

Unfortunately no but my friend brewed beer few times and it was absolutely outstanding.
2) Did you know the process of brewing?
After reading this article, yes ;)
3) How often do you drink beer?
Maybe twice a month, max 4 bottles.
1. I have never tries to brew my own beer but i know couple peoples that do it to this day and they enjoy it very much.
2. As i'm close with those friends, yes.
3. Im not surprised with those numbers at all but, im not this kind of a person. I'm drinking hardly any alcohol. It is usually caused by my lazyness and willingnes to drive. So when you see me you know i can't drink coz i'm with a car. Or maybe i'm with my gf then i'm free to do whatever i want.

I have never tried to brew a beer. I prefer to leave that to people who really know what to do. I was in brew factory in New York, so I think I can say I know process of brewing.
How often do I drink beer? I think about once-twice per 2 weeks, usually during football matches or when I go out with my friends.

No, but in the nearest future I do want to try. It can give so much fun, so I'm looking into it.

Barely. But I think that in the nearest future I will learn much more about it. I hope it is a simple process.

2 times a week. But I do drink it because of the taste, not because of the alcohol in it. To be honest beer could be without alcohol - for me it wouldn't make any difference.

In some parts of the world homemade beer brewing is made by different technics, unfortunately I have never had a chance to brew my own beer, but I would like to do it in the future.
Not fully, but I know some part of the processing what beer needs. At first you need to harvest barley from which most of the beer is made, than you malt it, boil and ferment it, with other ingredients, last stage is to bottle it wait some time and drink.
As a huge beer lover, I think I drink beer every day, maybe with some exemptions. It is already became a habit.

I have never tried such beer) And it's the only time i hear about this process
Not that often. I guess once per month, usually even less. I dont like beer that much in general)

I'm abstinent so i don't drink alcohol. That's why I also haven't tried to brew beer. I read about how to brew beer in articles earlier on this blog.
On the last question i answer up.
I tried beer only once. It was draft beer, for me it seemed bitter and absolutely not tasty. The next day I got food poisoning (most likely from the beer I tried) so after this case I never drink beer)

I hate beer, and so I have never really drank it because even the smell puts me off and the taste is even worse. It is probably clear and obvious by this point that I’ve never tried brewing beer, I do not know how to do it, I have do not know what ingredients are necessary, I have no basic knowledge of beer or the process of making it. Moreover I believe that home brewed beer might be even worse than the professionally made one, mostly due to lack of experience and proper equipment – Let’s face it, there are not many people with access to huge vats or other utensils needed for brewing. As I said, I do not drink beer, and I am not planning to start doing it.

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr
