Funko was founded in 1998 by businessman Michael Becker, who considered it necessary to popularize conventional vinyl and plush toys, giving customized images a unique appearance, in particular, disproportionately large heads. The toys of popular characters from movies, TV shows, and video games.


Until 2005, the company's products were unknown. But in 2005 the company was bought by current owner Brian Mariotti. He managed to increase the list of manufactured toys, thanks for the signing up the license agreements with Marvel, DC, Lucasfilm. Turnover of the company for several years increased to hundreds of millions of dollars. And Funko products have become extremely popular.


The company produces several lines of toys. The most popular line is "Funko POP!". Vinyl figures with a turning head and so-called "bobble-head" famous all over the world. They're made of high-quality materials. Under proper conditions of use retain their appearance for many years. The range of toys is constantly expanding, at the moment there are approximate of 500 varieties. A lot of figures were based on the famous films from "Star Wars" series. Usually, the release of new episodes and spin-offs, increase the number of toys.

The process of creating each shape is very complicated. Firstly, you need to get permission from the copyright owner, after then, create a sketch on paper and transfer it to a computer program. They make a test sample. Secondly, it`s shown to the owner, and he will make a final decision regarding design. And finally, the model is allowed into production. "Funko POP!" company create a limited edition of toys and sold for a limited period. Then the batch is removed from production. And what is available in the store at the moment, in a year or two, you can`t be able to buy. Therefore, collectors are willing to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for very rare specimens.


Toys are collects by fans of movies and video games, also actors, and people who take part in their creation. A lot of them even take photos with their small "counterparts", which made the series more popular. With them, you can approach the world of cinema even more. Every toy of Funko company has a magical energy, which charges w good mood and positive.

No, I've never heard about this company before.
I like their products. They are looking very funny and hilariously. I think that having one on my office desk would be a good idea instead of a rubber duck. On the other hand I don't understand how people may be fans of this toys and collect them.
I don't have any collections. Oh, wait... Does speeding tickets collections count?? :D

Never heard of it. I wouldn’t buy their products and even if I was gifted one I probably wouldn’t hold onto it for very long. If I wanted to display me being a fan of something I would prefer something more practical. Like shirt for example. I don’t collect anything. Any collection to me would be a hindrance if I considered moving from one place to another. Also, I like to throw away old stuff that I no longer use. It feels good when I do it. Perhaps I’m a minimalist in some ways.

I have never heard of this company before even more, I didn't know that there is a company which produces specialized collection toys based on movie characters. I guess today there is company for every type of fan product you can imagine.
They look a little bit weird for me. I don't understand why those toys have such big heads.
I'm not the type of person who likes collecting things because I'm not a fan of any tv-show or movie saga. Also, I'm pretty much sure that those toys are very expensive. For me buying this kind of things is just a simple waste of money.

I've never heard of the company, only I've seen the figures at the Instagram, which in my opinion look very cool and for more than one collector can be very valuable. But I don't think I'd collect them myself, because I have different expenses and I'm not the type of person who collects things.

I have heard of this company products, but I wasn't really aware of their name. I really love some of their products, but I don't think I am willing to buy them (probably because I'd get addicted to it pretty easily.)
I think that their "toys" look pretty neat and clean. I wouldn't be ashamed if I had some of those on the display somewhere in my house. They look nice, but that's probably it. We can't really do much with them, so I think that they belong in the category of products which is mostly for collectors. As always, there would be some exceptions, which would buy one or two favourite figures, but I think that the goal of this company is to convince us that the more statues we have, the better.
I don't mind anyone being a collector as a hobby. I think that it is pretty interesting. At the moment I am not collecting anything, but I had a pretty large knives collection in the past. I guess it was just a boy's hobby.

I have never heard about that company but I know about these toys. Do you think that transformers figurines are on the same level as yours? I'm not a collector and these toys are not my hobby but I know a few people who are interesting in that. I have a big collection of stickers - nowadays they are appending to your order in online shops and it's easy to get them.

i had massive hype over worstations setups (to make my desk look supre nice etc.) so i joined some groups to look up some ideas. I've seen that many people had those for many reasons, the idea that i liked most was a riser for massive graphics cards so it wont sag. I had thoughts to buy one but i didnt after all. To sum up. I think they are cool thing to show off your interests but after all i don;'t like cluttering my space to much.

I'm very glad that you also like these toys. They are incredibly positive. They always please with their appearance and cheer up. And yes, speeding tickets are also considered, if there are a lot of them, and you collect them.

Fan clothing is also very beautiful and can express personality. On this, I am ready to approve your choice. For me, it was always a problem to throw away extra things. I regret the time and, perhaps, the money that was spent on it. The problems with the move are sharp because so many things get in the way. but, on the other hand, I have a lot of very oversized things, and if there is a pair of toys between them, then no one will even notice it.

Well, big heads and a certain style give these toys a unique character. Yes, they are not cheap and in fact, I really regret the money to buy them. For this reason, I only have one such toy. I bought it when I realized that during a party with friends in a restaurant I spent 4 times more than the cost of a toy.

A collection of knives sounds dangerous but very interesting. Among my acquaintances, there are no fans of this company. Alas, I too can not imagine my room with a million of these figures. I bought one toy of my favorite character, and maybe in time, I'll buy a second one. On this, I probably stop. Because no matter how beautiful they were, I do not think that they cost so much money.

Yes, I think that the transformers are at the same level as these toys. It is possible that transformers are more introspective for the game, and they do not just stand on the shelf. but the advantage of these toys in their number and variety. The collection of stickers is very steep. When I start to collect them, I understand that they are in the closet and do not please me at all.

Absolutely yes. They look cool. In my opinion such things, collections, fan stuff makes person special, and shows individuality. Everyone need thing to collect.

This company is know all over the world. Brian Mariotti, who popularize it in 2005 gain really big success and now his business brings huge income. at today's it is nearly impossible to didn't hear about this company . many people saw this popular figures called "funky pop" but they know nothing about their origin and creators. I have been one on this people , since now. After reading this text i think this figures are really good option for big fans of marvel film, dc and many others. they can be a good toys to collect, because this products are made of high-materials. fans all over the world want to be always or really often connected with characters or attributes from their favorite films. this toys are quite small so people who want to have their dearest heroes near them , can put it to their bags etc. I don't have much time and place to collect things but i support and admire people who do that.
