Week 6 [07.05-13.05.2018] UberEATS

Uber Eats is an American online food ordering and delivery platform launched in 2014 and based in San Francisco, California. It was created by Uber Company and is working every day all over the world. Ordering can be done on Uber website or with a smartphone (OS or Android system) app. If you have your own restaurant it’s easy to be an Uber partner but I will give you more information about that in the next part of my presentation.

  • History

What about Uber and UberEATS history? Uber Company was founded in 2009 by Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp. It can be funny but the idea of Uber was created on the New Year’s Eve when Garret Camp had to pay a lot of money to a private driver. Nowadays they are offering various service types but some of them are unavailable in Europe. First food order was delivered in August 2014 with the launch of the UberFRESH (first name of platform) service in Santa Monica, California. In 2015 the platform was renamed to UberEATS. In that time, Uber started to launch their product in the world.

  • How to be an UberEATS driver in Poland

There are some requirements for couriers in Poland but it depends on a form of transport which you will choose. If you want to use a motorbike/bicycle you have to be an adult. Another possibility is to use your own car but you need to have a valid driver’s license. Delivery on foot is also possible.

  • UberEATS driver earnings in Poland

How much you earn depends on how much you work. In Poland, you may earn about 700 zl per week with 10 deliveries per day. Delivery partners earn money for each delivery trip based on a number of trips and the distance between the restaurant and the delivery destination. Of course, you have to remember about your form of transport. If your bike/motorbike breaks down you have to pay for its repair yourself.

  • How it works

Do you want to order something to eat by UberEATS? It’s very easy. Everything you need is your device and money. There are two ways to do it: order on its website or via its application. You can see its menu and take whatever you want. Remember, Uber delivers dishes from hundreds of different cuisines so you can experiment with different tastes. Payment by credit/debit card available. Enjoy! J
Questions:
1.    Have you ever used UberEATS? If yes, what is your opinion about that?
2.    Do you know any alternatives to UberEATS?
3.    Do you prefer eating at home or eating out and why?

I am ordering food through UberEats once. The delivery was quite fast, but I paid quite a lot for it. In my opinion, internet websites such as pyszne.pl and pizzaportal.pl are more popular in Poland. For sure pyszne.pl also has its own application. It seems to me that all suppliers are comparable and it is a matter of marketing that is more popular.

I would like to eat at home and occasionally go out for something really good. Unfortunately, recently I often order food because of lack of time.

Of course, I have used uberEATS on the phone. It was quite recently. My first order was 2x MCflury from MCdonald's. It was my test for them because we know that the ice cream dissolves after 15 minutes. After half an hour after ordering he came and the ice cream was OK. It surprised me very positively. So I highly recommend this application. I like this app because you can track your driver on the map. I prefer food at home. From time to time, it's nice to go out and eat something. I always wonder how many power banks they must have with them.

I’ve used UberEATS only a few times but it’s because my house is outside their delivery area. I only have opportunity to use it when I’m somewhere else where they deliver like my job or school. Of course I do know alternative for UberEATS. For example Amazon Restaurants. It’s almost obvious that when there comes any original idea to market there will also appear alternative in near future. Generally I prefer eating at home because it’s cheaper and as for now I can’t afford such luxury like eating out every day but of course when I’m tired or I simply feel like eating something new I do not hesitate and go out.

No, I've never used it, but I think that delivery on a bike (which is I guess the most popular one in this case) is a really great idea, at least in theory. I imagine that it could speed up the whole process especially when someone orders food during peak hours, then bike could be the fastest way of transport. But, as I said I don't have any experience with UberEATS, so these are only my assumptions. Also, by the way, it's more ecological (in case of bikes of course). I know pyszne.pl and pizzaportal.pl which I used a few times and I think they were OK. But I guess that their variety of resturants is poorer than in UberEATS. If you mean ordering food vs going to the restaurant, I'd say that I prefer to go to the resturant because food is much fresher and simply taste better.

I have never used UberEATS. If I’m ordering food to my home, it’s always from restaurants that support delivery. I usually avoid deliveries since they are expensive. And If I’m really not feeling like cooking myself I just go out to eat. Eating out is also more interesting especially if restaurant has pleasant atmosphere. Also, I have a lot of restaurants close by so you get a bonus nice walk if the weather is nice.

I've never used from UberEats so I cannot tell too much about it. But I always wondered why so many people like these food delivery platforms soo much. Is it laziness or just simple time saving? Personally, If I want to eat something I would rather order takeout food directly from the restaurant.
Apart from pyszne.pl I can't name any other food delivery services.
I prefer eating at home and cooking dishes by myself. I guess ordering food online is not my thing.

I sometimes use UberEATS and I think it's a very convenient tool.
I know there are some alternatives, e.g. pyszne has their own delivery service as far as I know, but I haven't used any of them.
I generally prefer eating at home because it is faster and more convenient but eating out may be a nice reason to meet your friends and spent time with them.

I haven't used Ubereats before as it doesn't function where I live. However it's really good idea as it gives opportunity for smaller restaurants to have delivery system without having to organise it by themselves. The only alternative that I used was Pyszne.pl and it was alright, I got my food. Probably I prefer eating at home , however, it depends on situation and from what I want to eat.
I think that UberEATS is a cool service that allow to make delivery for places that can't hold their own deliver people because their business is too small for this but this help to this small business to grow up and get more new clients. I have newer used this service but I planing to do this when I will be need for delivery from some place where there no their own delivery.

1. I have never ordered anything from UberEATS.
2. I use pyszne.pl from time to time and I am satisfied with their services. Fast delivery and good prices are main advantages for me.
3. I often prepare my meals by myself and take them to work as I try to eat healthy foods. However there are some busy periods when I don’t have time for cooking and then I need to order food or eat out. Additionally, at weekends I like to go for a breakfast to restaurant with friends or family.
Unknown said…
1. Have you ever used UberEATS? If yes, what is your opinion about that?
Yes, and it saved my hungry life in work several times. But it is annoying, that application and web version can be different and don't show same restaurants with same delivery point.

2. Do you know any alternatives to UberEATS?
Yes, there are two I know - pyszne.pl and pizzaportal.pl. Both are good, but I prefer the pizzaportal one. It has better selecting options for most of the restaurants.

3. Do you prefer eating at home or eating out and why?
I prefer eating at home, but in work or when running around city makes it impossible in many cases. So catering/delivery services are always welcome, especially in work areas.
Jakub Lisicki said…
I use UberEATS pretty often. The reason for that is that pretty often I'm overoccupied with some other work or studies-related stuff which doesn't allow me to cook for myself. It takes some time to shop for the ingredients, find the right recipe, cook everything. And if that wasn't a lot already, cleaning everything up also takes some time and in many cases, isn't that pleasant. Don't understand what I say in the wrong way - I really like to cook. I just don't have enough time to do this everyday.
As the most common alternatives which come to my mind, I would say that the best ones I've encountered are Daily and Pyszne. Both of them seem to function pretty well and each of them have their pros and cons.
It depends, sometimes I like to go out to have fun or save some time, but other times I like to cook something myself. It really depends on the current mood as well as workload.

No i didnt unsed UberEATS.

2. Do you know any alternatives to UberEATS?

i knew 2 polish version of Uber eat that are pyszne.pl and pizzaportal.pl

3. Do you prefer eating at home or eating out and why?
I prefer to eat at home during the week and outside on weekends.
Unknown said…
I have never used uber eats simply because it's quite expensive for me. And I dont know any alternatives apart from some local food delivery(i mean like dominos pizza has its own delivery). I do prefer eating outside, but only once or twice per week. I think that eating outside too often may be not healthy and may cause some damage to your stomach or maybe your habits in future.
Unknown said…
1. Yes, used, excellent delivery.

2. Pyszny.pl is a good alternative.

3. In general, I like to eat home food at home, but very rarely there are situations when there is not enough time or the food in the refrigerator has run out, in this case you must use similar programs for food delivery to your home.
I never used ubereat and i prefer not to use any services of such kind. I spend too much time at home anyway, so i rarely miss an opportunity to go outside, even to eat something.
Unknown said…
. Have you ever used UberEATS? If yes, what is your opinion about that?
Yeap, used it once but paying about 30% of price for delivery is a bit too much for me. Its convinient for sure but the food even if delivered in short time taste of meal much worth than ordered inside the place.
2. Do you know any alternatives to UberEATS?
You can use company delivery. For example pizza usually have free delivery and still have great teast after delivery.
3. Do you prefer eating at home or eating out and why?
After I moved in city center into small apartmant with small kitchen cooking become less plesent so I started to eat somewere outside.
Unknown said…
Personally, I didn't use it. At work, we often order from UBER EATS. I think that this is a very cool idea and well-implemented.

Of course. There are many alternatives. Now only pyszne.pl comes to mind. I think that such solutions as UBER EATS in the future will be much more.

It depends. At work, of course, I haven't choice and I eat at work. However, when I am at home, I often choose to eat at home. However, I also like to go out to the city for some food. Eating at home is easier because I don't have to think where to go.

Unfortunately, I never used UberEats. In Poland there are two alternative sides through which we can order food. These are pyszne.pl and pizzaportal, but I also rarely use them. If I already order something it directly from a given restaurant.
It depends on what I feel like, but most of the time I cook myself. Of course, the ordered food is more expensive, so I think I will eat out once every two weeks.

I have never used UberEats before an don`t know any alternatives. I guess it is very usefull but still I would prefer to cook by myself or go out somewhere else by myself just to take a break from study/job. All food that I have ever ordered was only a pizza)
I have never experienced ordering food through UberEATS. I think it’s a great tool for the ones who don’t want to cook or go outside to eat a meal. That’s the main reason why I don’t use it. I prefer to cook something on my own because I will be able to try something new or to take a break during studying or whatever.

I heard that there are a lot of alternative to UberEats. The most popular nowadays is restaurant’s own delivery.

It depends on the weather, the amount of free time and the desire but mostly I prefer eating at home

Well, I have never used this tool. I think most of the third world employees don't have valid medical examination reports. Uber use those people because they are cheap. I once saw a few guys that were resting on their bikes and one of them started coughing up blood on his hand. I suggest strongly please be advised. Third world people can transfer infectious diseases across Poland.

I have an account, but I've never used UberEats.

There are a lot of alternatives, for example: pyszne.pl. Many restaurants offer the delivery on their own.

I prefer eating outside. I am living alone and it's cheaper for me to eat outside. Another reason why I don't eat at home is just because I hate cooking (I don't consider barbecuing as a cooking :)).
I never used the services UberEats. If there is a need to order food, then I do it directly at the restaurant. In the extreme case, I use the application Pyshne.pl. I think that UberEats offers too high prices for their services. This application should be used only if you want to order something in a restaurant that exclusively cooperates only with this company. Basically, I prefer to cook food on my own, or go and have a good time at the restaurant, and not at home with ordered food.

I have never used UberEats. Why? Because its overpriced as hell. For the price of the delivery i could most of the time get another dish or even meal, the delivery is slow and if i wanted a cold dish i could deliver it myself. One last thing i hate about uber eats is when i see them (the delivery mans) travelling by public transport what the hell is that? Whats the point of this service if i could do it myself in thesame time for less cost ?
Yes there is a portal Pyszne.pl that is an alternative to Uber eats in poland but both solutions are overpriced and too slow to be reliable in poland.
I prefer eating at home since i know what is inside my dish. I also like cooking , like alot. So ye im more of a home food lover when it comes to eating.
Yes I have and I am still using it. For me it is a prefect solution for ordering meal to the office. You don't need to waste time for goin there by yourself. Actually in Poland there are some alternatives and sometimes they are better for example in night hours UberEats doesn't work and "Pyszne.pl" does.It depends, when I am at the office I'd prefer to eat my lunch there not to waste time (and I don't have plenty) but sometimes it is nice to leave and eat something out with friends, it is very relaxing :)

I've never used UberEATS, but I've seen a lot of UberEATS drivers (bikers?) in Warsaw.
One friend of mine worked for Pyszne.pl, which is kind of alternative to UberEATS. But I've never used that site.
I prefer eating at home: of course it's take more time (with shopping!) but I always cook something what I really like, when in restaurant often I have to choose one thing from the menu, and not always there is what I really want to eat this day.
Unknown said…
1. Have you ever used UberEATS? If yes, what is your opinion about that?
I've used uberEats a few times and I don't really like it. The main reason is the cost of delievery. There is a multiple way to order food cheaper and better.
2. Do you know any alternatives to UberEATS?
Yes I order foods quite often using a pyszne.pl or pizzaportal.pl apps. I like them much more than ubereats, but they sometimes don't offer restaurants I like.
3. Do you prefer eating at home or eating out and why?
I love eating out with friends, becuase i don't have to waste my time preparing food and after that cleaning whole kitchen. To add I'm not a versatile chef so the dishes I prepare are often quite boring to eat regularly.
Unknown said…
I've never used it, I've heard that the cost of delievery is preatty high. Despite that I think that delivery on a bike is a really great idea, plus You can order McDonald - only UberEATS can do that!
Alternatives - in Warsaw almost every bigger restaurant has online order and delivery in their offer - but You can alway order through pyszne.pl or pizzaportal.pl.
I prefer food at home - it's cheaper and healthier. When I'have no time I just order food to my home, or grab the from restaurant on my way home.
I like going to restaurant with my friends or on dates - I love exploring new tastes, and get inspired by them - I'm not meaning McDonalds xD

I'm not sure but propably it's a next article about UberEats. I have never users UberEats because I have never needed but i think it's a great idea to deliver every kind of food you would want to eat. It's also possibility for students to make some money. I don't know any alternative for UberEats.
I rather prefer to eat out of home because... there is no any reason.

1. Have you ever used UberEATS? If yes, what is your opinion about that?
No, I don't. But I used alternative services. I think it's a great opportunity for restaurants to focus on meals, and outsource delivery to giant like Uber.
2. Do you know any alternatives to UberEATS?
Yes, such as Pyszne.pl, PizzzaPortal, Daily, and other.
3. Do you prefer eating at home or eating out and why?
I prefer eating out, but at work, it's more quicker to order a food, then waste time on journey to restaurant.
Yes, I used a lot an UberEATS app, and think it's great. There a lot of alternatives to UberEATS like "pyszne", but they didn't work so convenient like UberEATS. At home I prefer to cook by myself, but at office I usually use UberEATS. It's a little bit more expensive than other, but speed and quality of service costs it.
Unknown said…
Multiple times. It's as easy as calling an uber, and that's why I love it. I know some alternatives, but in my opinion uber it's better because you can track your food so that you can deduct the real delivery estimation time, which is the most annoying thing the alternative services suffer from. I enjoy cooking at home, but because of the lack of time, I order food almost every time I eat. I have much experience with food ordering apps, and I hold UberEATS it's the best service on our market.

1. Have you ever used UberEATS? If yes, what is your opinion about that?

I have never used UberEATS because I don't like that their suppliers don't speak polish and also don't speak english too. I is hard to comunicate with them and cost of delivery is too much. I know these from my friend who tried it and I did some research and decided to order from e.g. pyszne.pl.

2. Do you know any alternatives to UberEATS?

Like I mentioned before I use a pyszne.pl.

3. Do you prefer eating at home or eating out and why?

I prefer eating out because it is nice to meet with people and eat together. Sometimes it is nice to order a pizza and watch a movie at home but usually I choose a eating out.
Unknown said…
1. Have you ever used UberEATS? If yes, what is your opinion about that?
I use UberEATS very often as I am too lazy to cook for myself. I've used platforms like Pyszne or PizzaPortal before and I got to say - Uber really knows what it's doing, because my experience is way better now with EATS.

2. Do you know any alternatives to UberEATS?
Yes, as I mentioned above - Pyszne, PizzaPortal.

3. Do you prefer eating at home or eating out and why?
I really enjoy eating out, because it's way much faster and I don't need wash or clean anything afterwards. Nevertheless, I like to cook for someone else though.
Unknown said…
Yes, I used it few times - it's cool: delivery is fast, food is still hot - I can't say a bad word about it. List of restaurants is also impressive.
Any alternatives? Of course, pyszne.pl ;).
I prefer to eat outside. I like cooking, but I'm not that good in it. The second reason is - I live alone and it's just cheeper for me.
Unknown said…
Yes, I used it few time and it's always a disaster. Delivery time is much more longer than estimated, contact with restaurant is often hard, delivery man doesn't speak english or polish, they don't even know how to type a code on intercom...
For me much better is pyszne.pl - lack of the above problems.
I prefer eating out because I really enjoy finding new, good restaurants.

I have never used uber eats, but I see that it is very popular among my neighbors. Sometimes I order pizza, but it is not exactly the same. I think that uber eats it is a great invention for big city life and busy people. I prefer to cook myself. Or to go out if I want some specific food or to spend time with my friends. I order pizza because I love it and when I have no time or energy to cook at home. Or when I forget to buy food during the day. Also I like eating out for the atmosphere of the places, and there is plenty of it in Warsaw.

I used UberEATS a lot of time. I can say that its a good aplication because it's easy to choose your food , the delivery time is as they say , you can locate your deliverer and message him. I know other alternatives such as dailyvery ? or Daily . Then there is pyszne.pl . I like to go out and eat but there are days when you need to stay at home and there is nothing to eat at home or you are just to lazy to make lunch so you decide to order food even if its expensive. you eat what you want at home. when you are working and really don't have time to prepare yourself some food or go outside i can tell this is a really good alternative.
Thanks for sharing this post and the efforts you have made in writing this. If you have more info about ubereats like app, please share. I looking forward to hearing from you.

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and natura...

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds...
