Week 8 [02.12 - 08.12.2019] What soccer can teach us about freedom?

Imagine finding out today that you have to move somewhere far away from home tomorrow.
In one day you lose contact with all your loved ones. In addition, the place you get to is quite hostile – you have to face difficulties. You become a victim of racism, jokes, religious persecution.

Now my question is, is there thing or an activity that would allow you to forget about these problems? An activity that will allow you to enjoy and feel free? Is there such a thing or activity that would make you forget about problems? Something that would just let you enjoy and feel free? Before you answer the question, please listen to a story of Marc Bamuthi Joseph:

1. When do you feel freedom or what makes you feel free?
2. What is your opinion about Marc’s project? Would you like to volunteer in this type of project?
3. How would you use your hobby to help immigrants?

Comments

1. When do you feel freedom or what makes you feel free?
I feel free when I go out in the evening. I'm going to dance, I can hear music. People surround me and I can talk to everyone.

2. What is your opinion about Marc’s project? Would you like to volunteer in this type of project?
I think Marc's project is very interesting and innovative. A lot of people would be interested in such a project and I would like to take part in it.

3. How would you use your hobby to help immigrants?
I could teach them to program so that they could live independently and be free.
Thanks for your comment. A very practical approach. I know from my own experience that learning programming can be difficult and tiring. Wouldn't a better way to help immigrants be to combine dance with programming?

If only I can dance it would probably be possible ...
1. For me, freedom is when I leave work, then I can start the car and drive ahead.
2. Brand's design seems to be very interesting. I would like to take part in it and learn more.
3. My hobby, unfortunately, would not help immigrants in any way.
Hi! According to the first question, I meant more about the activity that gives you the most pleasure. Secondly, it seems to me that you did not watch the film :(

1. I feel free everytime when I do exercises or ride a motorbike, because it help me relax and clear my mind. For me freedom means something that give me opportunity to speak, act, think what I want without restraint and restriction.

2. I think that it is a nice initiative, because sport chains people together and combat prejudices. In my opinion soccer is great sport discipline that makes people closer and increases tolerance. Personally, I will be volunteer in his project, because I totally agree his attitude towards sport and relationship with immigrants.

3. Motorbike and motorization are my hobbies, so I can teach immigrants to repair cara or motors. Moreover, I can teach them to driver a car or scooter. In my opinion it may enable them to find job and be independent.
Thanks for your answers. A real men's hobby, how long has mechanics been your hobby? In addition, I think it's a great idea to teach immigrants mechanics.
I feel free when I know that I live in a safe place and my basic needs are met. I feel free when I have freedom of decision or when my freedom is not very limited.

The March design, as well as many other projects, are innovative and interesting. It is possible that I would like to take part in such a project, but I am not determined.

Every hobby is creative and can contribute to society. If a mechanic were to share his passion with an immigrant, then the immigrant could become a mechanic and earn him better. Every hobby, even playing games is able to help others.
Acceptance and support are the most important for immigrants. Unfortunately, many immigrants only come for money and do not want to assimilate. Or are they afraid? I do not know :(

Week 4 [04.11-10.11.19] Dark matter

If you don't live in a big city in Poland, you can observe many stars at night. Did you ever wonder how would look our sky in the next millions of years if we would count only on existing proven astrophysical theories and calculations? It would be absolutely empty. All  celestial bodies  in the galaxy are rotating around the biggest black hole in the middle of galaxy (in Milky Way this black hole is 6.4  billion times heavier than our sun)  with such speed that the gravity generated by galaxy’s observable matter could not possibly hold them together. This leads us to  conviction   that something we cannot see is at work and is giving galaxies extra mass, generating the extra gravity that galaxies need to stay intact. Something, that will ensure us that our sky will remain the same as it was a million years ago. The official name of this strange and unknown matter is the “dark matter”. Unlike normal matter, dark matter does not interact with the electroma...

Week 3 [16.03-22.03.2020] Flipping cat physics

Flipping Cat Physics Cats are one of  most common human’s companion. We can see them all the time walking around their own trails and climbing on everything just to be in a center of attention. Although sometimes I can see them trip on something they always fall on their four legs. How is that possible? In the video shown below we can see a youtube video created by Destin Standlin showing how cats rotate when falling. It’s fascinating how they can control their body to rotate. I won't spoil the reason but watch how percisely they control their body, every move is perfect.  Think about it for a second and watch the video presented below.  Link to the video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtWbpyjJqrU Did you ever wonder how is that possible? What are your thoughts about this video? Did you pity the cat as it had to suffer through the process of falling so many times (I felt a little bit angry when I was watching this video) ?

I ’m sure everyone of you heard about Pegasus (Gra telewizyjna) console. I’m also pretty sure majority of you heard about NES and know very well that Pegasus is in fact NES clone (well, actually it’s Famicom but let’s not get into details) distributed by Hoop Cola guys. But do you actually know how many clones NES had in the past? Well, neither do I but I’ll try to present you some of the most popular clones around the world (excluding China no-names you can buy on Aliexpress even now).
