Week 12 [10-16.06.2019] Is meat bad for your health?

Eating meat is in the Eastern Europe's DNA. For the whole my life, I was eating meat, and didn't think that I'm doing something wrong. But for the last decade eating meat became associated with cancer,  strokes, ecological problems and climate changes. So I raised a question, is eating the meat actually bad thing to do, or it is just a new trend that don't have foundation?

In this video Kurzgesagt, the most famous contributor of this blog, is trying to show pros and cons of meat production and consumption.

Questions to answer:
1. What are you thinking about meat consumption?
2. Did this video influenced your opinion about eating meat?
3. Have you ever tried vegan diet? If yes, how was it? If no, do you plan to try?

Comments

1. What are you thinking about meat consumption?
I agree that meat in the modern world plays too big a role. Recently, I even read the article that it is recommended to eat up to 100 grams of ordinary meat (not red meat) twice a week. Where it often happens that we eat much more every day. Currently, I try to limit meat consumption to these two days a week.

2. Did this video influenced your opinion about eating meat?
No, he did not change anything, 90% of the information in it I had heard earlier from other sources, only reminded me of some statistics, which now helped me to recall the scale of the problem based on the latest data.

3. Have you ever tried vegan diet? If yes, how was it? If no, do you plan to try?
Yes, I've been on a vegan diet before, but I could not stay on it for too long because of my problems with the lack of iron accumulation in the body. Overall, there was no difference between ordinary and vegan diet for me. I did not feel much difference in terms of well-being.

I'm weird about meat, I can't eat rabbit, turkey, pig, veal, horse . But I eat chicken fish and seafood.

2. Did this video influenced your opinion about eating meat?
It didn't change dramatically , I eat only chicken from meat, since I do not eat fruits and very few vegetables then I don't have too many options of dishes.I additionally take different food additives,to compensate for the shortage.

3. Have you ever tried vegan diet? If yes, how was it? If no, do you plan to try?
I tried to give up meat and did not eat it for 2 months, but I started to hurt the lower back and some other parts of the body.Maybe I would try, but I'm not sure it would be the best choice for me.I have some favorite vegetarian dishes ))))

I love eating meat, and i dont think its any worse for us to eat meat than to eat anything else, as long as we keep it in reasonable amounts.
To be really honest with you i dont think any video, good or bad, could change what i think about meat and how much of it i consume in my life. When it comes to some things nothing matters as far as reasonable thinking and even evidence of health repercussions goes.
I dont think i will ever try vegan diet, i might go and reduce how much meat i consume but nothing more.
1. What are you thinking about meat consumption?
I do not think that the consumption of meat is bad. I love to eat meat and it is very difficult for me to refuse it.

2. Did this video influenced your opinion about eating meat?
On the one hand, yes. But the impact of this video was not so strong as to give up meat. In my opinion, this is a personal choice for everyone.

3. Have you ever tried vegan diet? If yes, how was it? If no, do you plan to try?
I myself have not tried to give up meat. Most of my friends cause harm to their health, refusing meat. Since they do not know how to eat right and do not know how to replace meat in their diet.
1. What are you thinking about meat consumption?
I like eating meat, but not all types - I prefer fish, chicken and a little bit of pork, rarely other types of the red meat. I know that eating meat it's not so good for my health, so few years ago I decided to cut it a little bit.
2. Did this video influenced your opinion about eating meat?
I don't think so. A lot of information contained in the video are known for me, but I think that it should go viral, because a lot of people are not conscious when it comes to this topic.
3. Have you ever tried vegan diet? If yes, how was it? If no, do you plan to try?
No, never, but sometimes I think I should try it for a while. I'm just lazy so I don't want to prepare some good vegan dish. I know it's not so hard but it requires changing your habits.

I knew about the dangers of red meat before the video, and indeed know how it all affects our body.
I can not often eat red meat, because my body pushes away it (I just don’t want to eat) Sometimes I can eat a small steak. I usually prefer fish, seafood. Sometimes chicken. So my body feels comfortable as much as possible, and I will always give fish to taste more preference than red meat.
But I think we must eat what is most comfortable for us. After all, it’s very stupid all your life to limit yourself in red meat if it gives you pleasure and is well absorbed by the body. We are still all individual and food is no exception.

Nice to hear your opinion. After my experiments with vegan diet, I was feeling good. But time needed to prepare meals with vegetables drastically increased. And also needed to cook more often to eat same amount of calories. So for me vegan diet experiment turned into cooking marathon.

So you already half-vegan just because of your food preferences. Good to hear you are using food additives to compensate the shortage of vitamins. It's important to keep the balance in diet and understand what your body need.

No one was trying to say that meat is bad, only that there are pros and cons of consumption of the meat. Also, for me more important that environmental impact of meat consumption is worse than from any industry. And that the only reason I'm really worrying about decreasing of amount of meat I'm eating today.

I also know a lot of people that starting to be vegans without thinking how it works, and making harm to themselves. I think that instead of vegan propaganda, we should teach people how to treat their body.
Currently I'm struggling with my approach to eating meat becouse I was raised in environment that always had meat in diet. Around three years ago I started to see disadvantages of meat consumption. Whole production process is completely devastating for our planet and I'm not a fan of treating animals without respect. Unfortunately I'm addicted to meat I absolutely love eating foods that contains dead animals. This video like many others I watched and discussions with my friend who is deeply concern about animals rights makes me feel torn apart. My current live style doesn't help with keeping diet and such decision as withrowal eating meat would become even more troublesome still if I want to change I have to made self sacrifices.

As I see a lot of people really prefers chicken or fish before red meat. But I'm personally will not change steak to fish meal. It's good that you know what you want, and don't subject to hype :)
1. I like them very much. Best in the simplest form of grilled or steak tartare.
2. I have known all the pros and cons for a long time. Small chances are that anything will change my mind.
3. I tried the dishes and were not filling for me, especially when playing sports.
I believe that every human's body is unique. For example, I have a health condition , so my life depends on meat. But I am unique on that. So it depends on you. Just listen to your body.

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and natura...

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds...
