Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The Universe will die

We are, no doubt, living in a thing, that is so-called the Universe. While everybody goes about their everyday life, business, and matters, we rarely ever think about our home in time and space. Is it limitless? Or is there a certain border? Can we comprehend our Universe at all? Scientists have been studying it for a long time, and the only thing they agree on is that -- Universe will die. In this video, three most plausible theories of how this can be, are presented. Enjoy!

How do you think:
1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?
2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?
3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?

As for me, the most plausible theory is heat death/ big freeze, it doesn't sound as sad as the others.

2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?
Of course I wondered about the universe, I think everyone ever wondered how it would end and how it would be after the end.

3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?
I don't see the point in worrying. We and our ancestors will not see it , perhaps it will happen in billions of years after the sun dies.

for me most truthful theory it’s about Big Crunch & Big Bounce, all what we now have a life cycle, and for me it’s like should be like this
2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?
Yes, and it’s a hard question i have a lot of questions and we don't have a answer on it
are we alone? space are limited ? and etc
3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?
No, 100% no, if we can do something with it okay we can think and do, but if no, then nevermind :)

1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?
Well as a huge fan of Terminator movie and all sci fi, I place my bet on nuclear war

2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?
Yeah I question myself everyday, and what? nothing.
The only way we can see the universe is from inside it.
We will likely never possess any way of viewing our universe from outside its physicality.

3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?
Yes, and somehow, we are all immortal and so the universe. Our organic cells will die and our consciousness
will cease, and we will no longer be able to directly observe existence, but the atoms that
make up our bodies will simply be new compounds. And if energy is neither created nor destroyed,
if our atoms continue to be, we will eventually make up the building blocks of new compounds.
1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?
Big bounce theory is the most plausible for me. Honestly, i don't believe in those theories. It might be not so obvious for people, but i'm pretty sure that nobody knows the truth. And it is truth.
2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?
Yes, i do question myself about the Universe i live in. 2 years ago i read a lot of information about it: how everything started, a huge amount of theories and other stuff. As i mentioned above, i know that nobody knows the truth.
3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?
Rather yes, than no. I can't say that we can do a lot for the Universe, but at least we need to try. I hope that in 200 years we would be able to give more impact for the Universe, maybe some kind of technologies can help us.
In my opinion, the third theory is the most probable. Because for me the existence of the universe is like human life. There is no beginning or end but there is a continuous cycle. Man is born, live, and finally dies. Man is the same matter as any other. So everything that had the end would be had next beginning.

I often ask myself what are we really? Is it just a cluster of random matter that is aware of its existence? Some are terrified of such thoughts and go to faith not to worry about it. I am able to understand that it is difficult to imagine it maybe just through our consciousness.

Thinking about it will not bring me happiness, but only worries. Therefore, the only thing that counts for us is just this present moment. That is why it is worth thinking what we have already done in our lives and set ourselves the next goals to achieve before our cycle ends.
Well, I would say that big bounce is the most optimistic, as it at least leaves a chance for another Life to emerge.
Agree. Whatever that cannot be altered in any way should not be worried about.
Nuclear war is happening, for sure, however, it will only do good for Universe, eliminating humanity.
Agree. However, the Universe has left a plenty of time remaining for humanity.
Yep, from what we can get with our sensor system, people are but a cluster of cells.
Great video! I am very interested in this question. I read a lot of books and watched more documentaries about the universe. I think that of the three theories presented, two of them are the most correct. I think that the universe will turn into nothing, it will cool, and the particles will no longer be able to interact. But I do not know what will happen next. I know we are very lucky to be here. It's amazing that such a life exists! We should appreciate humanity. It may be that there is no intelligent life anywhere else. Because it is a very big rarity. We should worry about the fate of the universe, if we want to survive in the future. I found another video that deals with this issue in more detail.

I saw that video also. Pretty interesting and broad topic. Heat death is also, in my opinion, the most plausible outcome. Everything will cool and all manners of energy will cease to exist. Or, perhaps, it will find existence in another form?
THe freeze is the most obvious scenario of ending the univerese, and it kinda makes sense if you think about it thoroughly. I always question myself about the universe i live in, but i know that i do not have much influence over it, thus i just try to do what is best for everything that is around me, because even small good can make a difference. I am not sure that the destiny of Universe can be changed by human's interference, thus ut is not worth concerning about, but it is worth researching and understanding.

1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?

For me the big freeze theory seems the most likely one. Because universe is always expanding, I think that energy will start evaporate and it will be not enough energy to keep the expanded universe warm. But this is my thoughts in topic in which I don't know nothing about.

2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?

When I was a child, I my favorite TV channels were National geographic, discovery and discovery science. I had dvd's with BBC and NatGeo's shows about how rockets were built, how journey to Mars could look like, how our relative speed is affecting time. This one was really cool. Because when you are reaching speeds near to the speed of light, time for you is slowing down. And you getting old slower than your friends on Earth. Also I liked videos about Korolev and Wernher von Braun who made space travel possible.

3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?

I think this question is not for our generation and not even for the next, I think this is for distant future. Because we are ruining Earth we live on, and if we will not carry about this problems, universe problems will never affect Earth or humanity.
1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?
I’m not an expert but in my opinion the theory about heat death is the most plausible, I’m not sure why but I feel like it’s the “nicest” way to end the universe.

2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?
Of course I have wondered about the universe, I think that most people did, but it’s really complicated matter. For me for example the universe is almost uncomprehensive, I find it hard to think about for example it’s size because we live in a world that is huge for us, but in the scale of the universe is almost nonexistent.

3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?
No, I think that we shouldn’t be concerned about the destiny of the universe because, when it happens humanity will be long gone. I think that it’s only an academical discussion.
I think, the second one sounds best to me. In many aspects of physics or chemistry there is always entropy that seeks to balance everything. Realisticly speaking, i have never thought of the Universe. I have my own problems and Universe has his own. It may sound selfish but it probably won't happen during my lifetime, so it doesn't bother me. I believe someone in the future will be able to reasearch these things. On the present day, I think Mars is as far as my thoughts can reach.
Adam Nguyen said…
For me, the most logical scenario is the “Big freeze”. Everything goes towards entropy, even the Universe. While the Universe gets increasingly bigger, the matter spreads out. In faraway future stars will not be able to be born, so the Universe will likely turn dark. Even at some point, the black holes will evaporate due to Hawking Radiation.

I watch a lot of documentaries about space and how the Universe began. I think about that a lot and it’s a miracle we are even here at all.

Yes I think it is worth concerning. I'm assuming humanity will figure something out. Either time travel, travel to a parallel universe, or something we can't even conceive. Something will be figured out.
1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?
In my opinion, the Big Bounce theory sounds the most plausible. But still, this is just a theory. Maybe a big meteorite will fall on us or something else ... It's hard to predict.

2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?
I think, like any living. I love different theories. My favorite is the theory of infinity, it is not its real name. It says that the solar system is an atom, and our galaxy is a molecule of physical matter. And then it will be so indefinitely because this molecule also exists on some planet.

3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?
Worth thinking about global warming for example. But no about the universe end. We are too small in-universe to do something, even knowing what the end will be.

1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?
As stated in your video, the most plausible theory is the last one, in which the force of Gravity will prevail over dark matter, and as a result, irreversible processes associated with an increase in temperature will begin. The same theory is the most favorable, as I understood it, since it will happen in many millions of years. Perhaps I agree with the authors of this video.

2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?
Of course, like most. Although maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to me that this is the default thought. Each of us is sooner or later visited by thoughts about the system in which we live. Well, as a result, questions arise, such as "How does the Universe expand, but is it infinite?" etc.

3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?
I honestly think that there is no reason for concern on this issue. It seems to me that this will be relevant for those generations that will inhabit our Universe in many, many millions of years.
1. It’s all about the amount of dark matter, which for now can’t be exactly measured, but it must have extreme value either low or high in order to 1st or 3rd scenario occur. I’m not a physicist but 2nd seems to be most probable. It’s based on entropy, which is something applicable to both microscopic and macroscopic worlds.
2. It’s a question about philosophy, which isn’t in area of my interests, so I’m not able to come up with anything revealing.
3. It may lead to discoveries in other branches in physics and also answer a fundamental question “why are we here?”.
1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?

Honestly, I don't know. I hope there should be one more option, with so-called "happy end". As for this 3, I think the second one is the most realistic for me.

2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?

It is an interesting topic and I hope that one day humanity will go on a space odyssey, but as for myself, I wasn't spending much time thinking about it.

3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?

I think no. It looks like something, you cannot change and if you cannot change something why bother? Moreover, all these theories are basically theors, so it could happen or could not.
1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?
For me the most logical theory is Big Crunch & Big Bounce. I am not a pro in this area, but this theory sounds the most realistic to me.
2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?
I am not very philosophic person. Moreover, I don't see any reason to think in that way, as we (even scientists) know too little about how Universe lives to be able to discuss how it would die.
3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?
As I mentioned below, first of all, scientists should discover how the Universe functions and only after getting that knowledge they would be able to make realistic theories.
1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?
Maybe it will be big freezing. When all the suns will burn out there will be too little heat/radiation and everything will freeze
2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?
No, I didn’t, well maybe only about aliens and life on different planets. But this is only what if.
3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?
No, because we still don’t have any means to intervene with universe, we only gone to the moon a couple of time and that’s it

As for the first question I think the most plausible theory for me is heat/freeze death. It is the most logical for me, looking at current weather changes and global warming if think this is the most possible ending as well.
No I haven't , I am too small to question this type of things I think that would be overwhelming and sad life. I rather live my life well thatn worring about bigger things.
Not really, our generation and grand grand children would not probably participate in this so I dont care at all :)
1. I guess the second one is most likely to happen but I'm not a scientist and I kind of believe in all of them since I can't prove they're wrong in any way
2. Of course, I think everybody does it form time to time since we as a human kind still have no idea about the purpose of life and why universe exists
3. No, because I think that the end of universe is inevitable and we have absolutely no power to do anything about it. We should worry about the state of our planet and things that literally affect us.

1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?

I think really near Krzysztof Maciaszek, Heat End is nearest possible

2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?

Yea i asked myself many questions like "how everyhing started to life" " how will end looks like" and many of philosophical questions

3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?

I think that destiny of Whole Universe is to let all creatures use it resources
1. What is the most plausible theory of all three?
A good question, however, my choice will be freezing

2. Did you ever question yourself about the Universe, you live in?
I've thought about it more than once. In my opinion, the universe will not end for a very long time, probably longer than our civilization lives.

3. Is the destiny of the Universe worth concerning at all?
I think that when it comes to us, or our future children, there is no point in worrying about it, because it is possible only for maaaaaaaaany years

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr
