Week 3[22-28.10.18] Does luck exist?

Perhaps, you've met people who are constantly talking about something so-called luck. Regularly, we say we missed a chance or got a chance. Is there really something like luck?
How can you be lucky and succeed?

Why some people do nothing to succeed? Where did they bring all that good luck from?
"I'm miserable", "I'm lucky" and ... maybe you heard these sentences from your friends or family! Those who explain: "My parents and my family are so…!", " I also was not lucky from economics point of view!" "I missed the exam because the questions were very difficult this year", "Unfortunately, my wife is selfish! "," My kids did not miss me! "," In the workplace, the manager discriminates! "and more and more excuses.

Although giving a blame for luck, it gives us pseudo peace for a moment, but it also brings us the power to change our fate and situation. Taking all powers away from ourselves and giving to an environment and others may indicate that we have chosen irresponsibility and escaping from responsibility as the main life style.

We need to be accountable. As long as we blame traffic jam for having delay or blame destiny for laziness and failure of our plans, we need to change ourselves and accept responsibility. Keep remember that there may be problems, but it is our will which push us to overcome them and think about them. If you sit around and do nothing just looking for luck, you'll be the unluckiest.
Psychologists believe that everyone's luck is his thought. If the person is positive or optimistic, opportunities and good conditions will arise for him and, if pessimistic, leads to bad situations.
Having or not having chance and luck depends on you, means that, when you feel lucky, you're influencing the environment and the world, and simply giving positive energy to the periphery and the decision you intend to do.

We must take advantage of the experiences and being open minded in case of encounter the events and problems. In this case, you are also a lucky person who others try to discover the secret of your success. In this way, our thoughts, feelings and beliefs will propagate energy in the world that leads us to a lucky one.

In fact, if you believe in your mind that you succeed, it will be the same, and you will be lucky just as easily. On the contrary, when you think you're unlucky, you always get misfortune. That means you will have what you believe in, because your energy influences the world. This energy is also transmitted to others and for example, the same feeling that you have to someone, he/she has the same feeling to you.
Perhaps, it's interesting to know that psychologists believe that successful people do not believe in luck, because good luck comes to those who are ready, which gives them opportunities. They focus on good things and develop skills, in this case they are able to absorb positive forces. Sometimes, bad things go wrong even for those we know them lucky, but they find opportunities among the problems, and win them with hardworking. So, it's better to think we are lucky from here onward.
Such thought, if does not have any effect, at least has the benefit of giving us a better morale to continue living, so that in many situations we will have better self-confidence. Therefore, success is neither accidental nor luck, rather must have a goal and recognize the opportunities.

In order to not suffer from your presumptive misfortune, it's better to follow bellow pattern to deal with the issues:

- Define and prioritize your problems, then specify one of the most important ones.
- Write down all solutions coming to your mind to solve a problem.
- Consult with friends, acquaintances, and experts who firstly have experience and knowledge, secondly, are trustworthy and reliable. Write down their solution as well.
- Write down your abilities and facilities and others who are ready to help you.
- List the limitations, weaknesses, and probability of failure in each of the ways you've written.
- Choose the solution which has most probability to success considering your capabilities.
- Identify the steps for this solution and consider the time for each step. Furthermore, identify actions for each step and be ready to do so.
- When you are struggling with problem to solve it, focus on that and encourage yourself to go forward. Please do not measure your success with your goal, but measure your success with the effort. For example, if you are studying for the exam, the amount of the effort, planning, and continuity of your work is important, but you should expect yourself to be proportionate to the amount of these efforts.
- On the way to success, measure the progress of your plan continuously and overcome weaknesses. The flexibility of the plan is a great step towards the goal.
If you take an action according to the problem-solving process, you will soon find out that most of what you called as bad luck has been laziness, disorganization, lack of consultation, inaccuracy, lack of effort and perseverance, extreme pleasure and ambition.

1-      Are you lucky? Why?
2-      What do you think about luck?
3-      Does luck exist from your point of view?

I don't believe in energy transfers, as well as other forces that can affect my life. I use this word when I gain something because some improbable events occured.

It's easier to say you are lucky that something happened than to describe all the implications and possibilities. I'm impressed you managed to write the whole article about it :)

I thing there is something called a hidden energy that appeals to our lives. There are some situations that would be a disaster but suddenly something happens that helps you make a good out of it. I don't know it is only luck or something more but there is something out there. In my life tons of bad things happend but everything bring be back to where I am right now so because of that I can say im lucky and I guess there is someone or something watching over me.

I do not believe in such a thing as luck, so I can not define myself in this category. Everything is a matter of chance. For example, winning a lottery is a matter of chance. There is no impact of any higher power or energy. However, the probability of winning is so small that we can call such win by having luck. In my opinion, in everyday life, our choices and their awareness determine our success at work or in private life. Maybe people are too skeptical about their lives, that when something good happens to them, they explain it with happiness.

1. I do not want to believe in luck, but I have not once been lucky in life. I can call luck - a great desire to get the desired result, but for some reason the lack of action. When the decisive moment came and I understood that I had done nothing, I resigned myself to a bad result and voila! Somehow, miraculously, without preparation for the exam, I gave it to the maximum result, inevitable situations could have been avoided.
2. I think that luck is either there or not, most often it is when it is not expected;)
3. Yes, there is, but some call luck - "guardian angel", which helps to get out of bad situations
I am not lucky, i have never won something when i took a part in promotions and etc. But definitely i don't believe in luck. I believe in hard work and result after all.
What do i think about luck? In some ways, it is all just a game. When gamblers feels lucky, they believe they can get that random chance, but their ability to control overcome natural chaos. I don't know what do you mean, but definitely luck exists.
I agree that good and bad luck is usually just a reason for people to explain situations but I truly believe in something which is so-called a good energy. From my perspective it may influence on people and on situations. If you are open, determined in your activities and if you emit good energy - world is for you kind and good things happen. If you are closed and grumpy there are low chances that something positive will happen (or even if it happens you wouldn’t take advantage of that or wouldn’t even notice). In my opinion success has nothing to do with luck or its lack, attitude is the key.
Of course there is such thing. Our lives are not fully under our control and that point is hard to discuss. We might be unfortunate to be a victim in a car accident, we might be fortunate to win a lottery ticket. There's usually not much of our personal involvement in those events - we just had some luck to be at the right place in the right moment. And those things are usually beyond our control.
But there is also an entirely different kind of lucky events. Those which happen to the prepared. And here I agree with the article - this is kind of luck that helps people to succeed in life. When the right person has the right skills and mindset at the right time.
I like the bus stop metaphor for this. If you are prepared: you have a bus ticket, you know where you want to go, you checked which bus will take you there, then it's just a matter of time when the right bus will come and drive you towards your goal.
But if you don't know where to go, you don't have your ticket - you will get on the bus which goes in random direction. Maybe a ticket inspector will catch you and you'll pay for not having the ticket, maybe you'll end up in a wrong neighbourhood or just get off the bus one stop too late. Those events people call unlucky. And then they observe those who were prepared and got where they wanted and call the lucky.
I like those advises at the end of the article. Be prepared, look for solutions, know your limits. Be prepared, your "lucky" moment will come, inevitably.
It depends because as most of us I do not find myself as a lucky person although when I think about my life and some decisions made, I'm very happy and do not regret anything so I guess maybe there was some kind of luck in my life ;)?
I think that the most important factor at becoming successful is working hard, but on the other hand you can die someday in car accident so yeah there is something like luck ( or lack of it).
Few times in my life i had so called luck. However I think of it as useful coincidences rather than “luck”. I don’t believe that people have some mysterious hidden trait which influences their lives. Everything is matter of preparation and attitude. All other cases, like finding money on the street, are purely statistics and coincidental. You may think that some people have luck because they often happen upon money on the street, but maybe they are just more perceptive then others or they are frequently hang upon places where people tend to drop money.

It’s hard for me to say whether I am lucky or not because there is no precise definition of luck. What do you actually mean by lucky person? Is it the one who won a lottery or the one who constantly does nothing but takes everything? I actually have no idea whether I am lucky.

If we are talking about some strange situations when everything goes wrong but accidentally something mysterious happens that turns the situation to your advantage. I just simply call it the balance. Everything in life should be balanced. Don’t try to find any hidden sense.

I think that we can't say that someone is lucky in general, I believe that everyone sometimes has luck or not. Of course, I could consider myself lucky, as I wasn't born in some poor or pathologic familiy for example, but when I think about luck I focus rather on some single situations that happen to be good for us. Like train arriving late when we are also running late or canceled exam when we were not studying. Luck for me are just some coincidences that are favorable for us. I don't believe in any kind of energy transfers. Additionally, successful people cannot be called lucky in my opinion. Of course, they could have some sort of luck in their way to success, but mostly it's their hard work and commitment that brought they where they are.
Of course I'm lucky! I was born in peaceful European country where I'm not afraid that I will not survive to the next morning. I'm not starving, I have a great family and I can study on private university thanks to my parents. Somehow I won the genetic lottery. None of this things was thanks to me- just luck.

We are not able to fully control our lifes- we are dependent on many things. And those things are changing, sometimes in a way that helps us and sometimes not. And that what I consider luck/bad luck.

Yes. Yes, I am. It is hard to describe exactly why, so I pass. Luck is not a thing that can be explained or calculated.

As the author of this post told above, it is possible to boost it when you prepared before doing something. It is true that doing stuff can easily give the winning position without relying on luck. However, there are always times when everything can go wrong even if you are 100% ready. It is important to understand that you cannot always win every time and be ready to lose because of luck a few time in order to achieve your goal.

Yes. Yes, it is. The bus stop metaphor is the best explanation of it.

From practical point of view, luck is just a conjuncture. You can observe every event in the life as a lucky one, if you find a suitable point of view for that. After all, it is all math. Counting probabilities of the events, comparing them, making plans according to the calculations, a luck can be built on such things. But math is not the language people are speaking in real life. Every single individual has his own vision of the world around him. Ruled by emotions, feelings, a human being describes events using coordinate systems created in its head. When one sees luck, the other sees loss.
I think i am lucky because i have many things that some of my frienda had to work hard to get, or have something that they could never get anymore. I really like the though of luck as some force of nature that helps or ignores the needs of "mortals" but i am pretty sure it is more liek a combination of personal determination and positive mindset, you cannot be lucky doing something if you do nothing. So i think it definitely exists as a sum of all our qualities and random occurances in our life and maybe also as a wild force of nature.

An interesting point. The inability to accurately explain what's happening to us can be the reason we call it a chance.
Iman Masjedi said…
The belief that there is a hidden energy that causes changes in our life events may be another definition of luck. Like winning a lottery. You have already thought about how a person can win two or three times in the lottery and earn a lot of money. Does that person believe in this hidden energy?

I am lucky. I have happy and healthy family. I do not miss anything. So from my point of view, I am lucky.
I think that luck is not only some magical phenomenon that helps us to succeed, but it is also our primal strength to choose what is best for us.
In my opinion, luck exists. Every successful people need luck to accomplish their dreams.

"Everything is a matter of chance"
What a beautiful definition of luck !
Only chance at winning the lottery can be defined, what definition you can not have in this case:
A person born in Africa and in a small village, and a person in the royal family of England?
We do not choose our place and time of birth, as well as our parents . What is the definition for this example?
Iman Masjedi said…
"a great desire to get the desired result" .Thank you for your interesting comment.
Trying to achieve a goal and the quicker conditions to get it can be affected by what's happening that we can call it a chance.
This sentence may be correct in some of our life examples. But if, for example, you were a child who was born to a country that is now in a war-torn country, would you still believe in it?
Iman Masjedi said…
Thank you for your honest opinion.

You do not believe in luck, but do not deny it in the last sentence and you believe it exists.
Luck does not just mean gambling and a lottery, it can eliminate a risk or disaster.
For example, your mistake on the crime that you did not commit is imprisoned and after 10 years the judge will realize his mistake. Is not it bad luck?
Iman Masjedi said…
Thank you for your beautiful and different view, you are looking for a chance from the positive and negative aspects, some of the events are out of control, we call them the definition of luck.
"Be prepared, look for solutions, know your limits" is the best thing to do is to take advantage of our moments of life.
Iman Masjedi said…
you mention a beautiful comment, because you're healthy, you're lucky.
In your opinion, everything that happens during human life depends on luck?
Iman Masjedi said…
You've watched the luck in a wider perspective. On the one hand, you know that you are lucky because you do not have a lot of problems and, on the other hand, you feel bad because you do not have much luck like few peoples.
Iman Masjedi said…
Is our place of birth and our parent choices luck in your category?
Is this a conjuncture definition for the above example ?
Some of the things that happen in human life will affect their whole life.

1. I am a very happy man, I have several reasons to be it among others, my wife gave birth to a healthy son, who is the most important person in my life, and also recently founded a company that works quite well.
2. I think that happiness in life is very important, without it, many people would not have what is or even three-quarters of the world, which is why it is necessary for success in life.
3. From my point of view, happiness is an indispensable part of the human being and I think that even everyone who smiles once a week is lucky

I believe that luck exists and to be honest I consider myself a lucky person. So what does it mean to have a luck on your side? For me it means winning against the odds in the situation that you have restricted or no control of.

For example imagine that you have an exam coming up. You did some digging online the day before and found the answers to the mentioned test. You learned them all by heart and when you showed up the next day for an exam you found out that there will be multiple groups. Right now your mark entirely depends on which group you will be given. You do not have much control over this situation and with time you have even less. There is not much you can do in this situation in 30 minutes before an exam starts and there are even less option when you are halfway through the exam.

There are of course many precautions you can take to avoid such problems. The more time you have the more options there are. Of course you should not consider luck as a viable option, but rather as a pleasant surprise. I never depend on luck and this point of view may be the reason why I consider myself a lucky person.
Unknown said…
That is hell of a long to-do list. The fact that luck is directly correlatied with your morale remineds me of placebo effect in other article. In other words our life is what we think it is. You can be really skillfull but if you cant project it to the world it's gonna be hard to convince people afterwords... Fake it till you make it might be a good strategy to follow if you want to change your attitude.
Unknown said…
I've never actually thought too much about whether I'm lucky or not - I've never had any major lucky or unlucky events happen in my life. I suppose I would consider myself to be neither lucky nor unlucky.

I do think that luck exists - though for me, luck simply means factors beyond our control which we cannot predict with the information we have, which makes them effectively random, even if they are not neccessarily so. I do, however, also agree that thinking about luck isn't really something that you should do if you want to be successful - after all, if you can't do anything to affect your luck, then there's no point in dwelling on it. It's better to simply focus on doing your best and on looking for opportunities no matter the situation, and eventually you will always reach success.
Unknown said…
I think I have a lot of luck in my life. In my opinion "luck" strongly depends of your point of view on life. If you are optimist you will find luck and opportunities everywhere. Why do i belive I'm luck person? I just belive I'm able do to that particular thing no matter what and then comes my luck, I'm creating opportunities, and then take advantege of it. Luck comes with good energy and positive attitude. I think there is 2 kinds of luck - something like "random luck" and "everyday luck". Randam for me is for exaple winning a lotery, it all depends of it, but "everyday luck" is something different - You can help to create it, and thats my thing. Of course, there will be a time where everything will be going wrong, but if you'll be able to manage that and survive - You'll start to think positive. Doeas luck exist from my point of view? F**c yeah it does! Have a good evening fellas!
I would consider myself lucky, to pinpoint why there are many reasons for example i was born in Poland i could have been born in North Korea, would u call this luck i sure would.

When it comes to luck i feel like its perceived differently by ppl one will consider himself lucky by having certain environmental things align for him, on the other hand some of us would needed a material confirmation of their luck (like gambling). If we want to define luck for me it would be every non material thing that eased my work, made me happy, turned out great in the end.

From my point of view luck does exist in some form and every now and then i get to see it shine on me.

Unfortunately, I can’t call myself a lucky person, because from the experience of the past tense, I realized that in order to get what you want, you need to apply resources such as time and effort. But in my environment such people are enough, even from them often I hear the phrase: "how lucky I am." While I was writing my point of view, the thought came to me that perhaps from the side one can see better. They say that to attract such things into your life you need to sincerely believe in them and think more about them, and thus positive phenomena in life will be attracted. On the other hand, I now sit and write this text, I have the opportunity to discuss such things with you, I feel good, I get an education, and if you add up all this, you can say that I was lucky!

We are the Lords of our own luck. I have had some happiness in my life. The basic factor is that I was not born in Africa as a poor child, but I have a chance to learn and I have everything in abundance. The fact is that you have to help with luck, because if you don’t learn for exam and you go for it hoping for luck, you should not expect a high grade.

A lucky person can be called a person who won a million in a lottery, or a person who has a healthy and loving family. The concepts of happiness are many, it depends on us what we have in life and do we help him in some way.

I feel like a lucky person. I had a great girlfriend, great job, great family, everything is great. You have to help you’re luck. I work hard to achieve it all.
Luck is a measure of your success.
For example if you play lottery and win, you’re lucky one because usually it is almost impossible. Usually people would say, you’re the lucky person, if you have to much success in your life. It all comes down to an attitude. Did you work hard enough to get it?
If you treat luck or bad luck as a coincidence of all little things that happened before it doesn’t exist but if treated as a measure of success it is exist
1) I do not think I'm lucky, I had to work hard for my position, if I didn’t do it, I would not be where I am.

2) I think luck is something like, when every signs on the heaven shows that something bad would happen, but on finally you are on winner position.

3) Yes luck is exist, but it's rather occasionally character, i don't believe that we can have a lucky on every step.
Anna Moskalenko said…
I can’t tell that I’m lucky. I see myself as an average person. If something is not depends on your efforts, how hard you worked to get something/to reach the goal, it’s just the matter of chance. If we can call it “luck”, then ok, luck exists.
Some time ago I met a REALLY lucky person. If he’s late to the train, the train will be late too. If he’s not into going to university today, the lecturer will cancel classes. I see his luckiness everyday and it’s impresses me. But maybe it’s just about our attitude and if we taking our “luckiness” for granted.
Anyway we’re not controlling our life in every aspect. So if you’re won a lottery, we probably can call it luck, because you didn’t put any effort on that and chances to win was extremely small. So I think we can say that yes, luck exists.
I think that I can call myself lucky person. I maybe don’t have luck in cards or lotteries, but I consider myself lucky on everyday basis. For example, when I enter subway station train usually waits for me not the other way. Also, a lot of my friends or my family often tells me that life is not fair and I’m too lucky for it to be possible. What do I think about luck or does it even exist? I don’t know for sure if luck exists or not but I’m sure that positive thinking attracts positive things. I am very optimistic person and always when I need something to happen I try to think positive about it usually it goes my way. To summarize in my opinion a key to good and happy life is to stay positive no matter what happens.

I think that I am happy but I don't feel that I achieve anything by luck. I had to work hard to be where I am and I have to say that even I feel that sometimes I missed some luck. I can't count how many times I failed some exam because I needed one more points.I am concious that it was because of stress and in fact I don't believe in luck. You get what you worked for and that's all.
Well, yes I could say that. I think everyone who has family and a house to live in should be gratefull.
There are a lot of people who suffers from natural disasters and they've lost everything.
Hmm I think there is no definition of luck, I think it's just a term for good events which happen to people.
It is hard to tell if luck exists, I really don't have opinion on that.
Cezary Róg said…
Am I lucky? I wouldn't call it luck. I would call it more happiness.

For me, luck is just a metaphor for happiness. We call it luck when we i.e. survived a dangerous situation. But is there really anything that saved us? It was just a coincidence.

From my point of view, luck exists only in people's mind. Everyone has his or her own "vision" of luck. Life is just a series of coincidences. Sometimes we end on a good position, but it can also happen that we end badly.
Marcin Górski said…
Hmmm, it's very hard topic. I think that luck doesn't exist. In my opinion, hard-working is key for everything. For example, you can learn to exam and get a good grade or don't do anything and say that you are not lucky because you are always have the hardest questions. In my opinion, lucky is a option for people who are watching for explanation their fails. People should be careful and think about their actions. It's better to control your life than talking about lucky.
Well, it is really hard question. I might feel lucky becouse i live like i live. I'm kinda happy with what i got. But when you ask my friends, they will say im unluckiest person in this world. I never won anything, when i'm picking random question on exam, it is the hardest one. But even it is hardest im passing with 51% or something like that. It's never easy for me but i never got really unlucky so i feel like im lucky becouse i have never been in really big problems caused by some random variable.

I cant say that I'm super lucky person on the earth. And even if the luck exists, I guess it is 50%50.
But still it is a really interesting topic to discuss, however it is like debating on if there is a life after death. No one has the answer. On the one hand I've seen tenths or even hundreds of examples when people just got luck. Im not talking about their success but it is more about small things like finding money in streets or choosing correct answer on some test.
On the other hand maybe it just my perception. Put it other way, it is just what I want to see. What is missing in my life.
Also I liked the comment of Kyrylo Aleksandrov. I'm sure that there is a point in his reasoning. Perhaps there is some 'probability distribution functions' which defines who borns in reach or destitute family, in which country etc.
For sure there are some things in our lives which we not able to control. However when it comes to success, I thing it's more about person's desire, persistence, aspiration. Of course there will be hard time. There will be potholes. And as the author said it is all about attitude because dealing with difficulties makes you strong and experienced humane.
It is very difficult to believe in luck. It cannot be felt or touched. At the same time can't say for sure that it does not exist. There are many lucky people in the world. Perhaps strangers just do not know about something sad in their lives. After all, based on the theory of probability it is impossible to be lucky all the time.
But maybe I, as a realistic person, and sometimes even pessimistic, believe in luck. In the end, it could have turned out much worse than what had already happened. So do not forget about it when you think that you are not lucky.
I think it's always worth believing in the best. Thoughts are material.
In my opinion, such a thing as luck exists. A basic example is going to the bus stop and your bus arriving. If this repeats many times, then you start to believe in luck - first you see it in the details. But you shouldn't hope for good luck. This does not mean that if you are lucky in the little things you will buy a lottery ticket and win a million.

Yes, I was lucky, because I managed to meet very good people who are willing to help me, but I also try to reciprocate and do not refuse to help if anyone needs it. Not everyone has such acquaintances. Happiness is very difficult. Happiness does not come with luck. Happiness needs to be built. All in your hands.

Believing in the best is a great solution. Thank you for your comment
I define luck to be synonymous with chance. I don’t consider individual people to be lucky or unlucky, though I believe lucky events may happen to them.

According to that definition, I agree that luck shouldn’t be considered a legitimate cause of any success or failure. It’s our actions and hard work (and lack of thereof) that affect the outcome.

Anyone who believes in good or bad luck does so in order to escape thinking of real causes and consequences. It’s far easier to think you didn’t pass an exam because of bad luck and not because you didn’t learn hard enough.

Sometimes I think I have luck, for example few weeks later I won VIP ticket on PGA event by taking a photo of two ads on a bus stop which was just next to each other (normally second different ads was in other district). So I thing luck exist because there is a lot of it in my life and if I pass this academy I will be lucky too.

1- Are you lucky? Why?

I think yes, because I live a quite happy life and I'm glad that I could make it as it is. I just have to think - it is luck, or hard work got me here? I think both, because without some luck I think that some thing would have gone in different ways. However, when I'm thinking about some situations in my life I'm sure that luck exists.

2- What do you think about luck?

It's fine to believe in it, and sometimes when things are going as they should you just assume that it's luck - that's okay for me. But you can't just trust your luck 100% and do nothing more about it, that's not how it works.

3- Does luck exist from your point of view?

Yes.

I am a man who is very lucky, my whole family has a lot of luck, especially in business. It's hard to answer the question why I have a lot of luck. The answer is: because I have.
I consider luck to be impossible to get as someone had not previously had but at the same time a very valuable artifact.
It is difficult to answer whether luck exists because from a physical point of view, there is no such thing as luck, but
if somebody delves into this topic, he will understand what luck is and how to see it.

Yes, I am lucky. I have healthy family, good job and lovely girlfriend. From my point of view that’s the definition of luck - I was given with those great things in my life.

But when it comes to the „normal” definition of luck, like winning something etc - few months ago I wanted one of the Adidas boots, but they were very expensive. When I went to the Adidas shop just to see them live, they told me that it’s the last pair and it was my size! What’s more funny - they were discounted by 60% ;).

Of course, there is a probability that it is all an accident. That the universe, our lives are driven by a coincident. But as someone wise once said: “there are only two ways to live your life. I believe I have enough luck to not stop in critical moments. It's much more important to be patient and hard-working that to fell the success in your life to be successful.

It helps in some moments in your life to regain your positive attitude to some life situations. It's always good to think about what happened afterward because in most cases you did something extraordinary and overcame all the problems rather than them were solved on their own because of your luck.

I think it does exist, howewer it's not necessary to be a happy human being. We can manipulate our fate and change it whenever we want because we are the most important in our lives not our destiny.
Not every part of our lives can be boiled down to a list of steps that lead to guaranteed success. Sometimes we have to take risks, and sometimes we run into things we had not calculated for. Not everyone has infinite resolve, and if we were to blame all big and small mishaps on just ourselves, there wouldn’t be a shrink competent enough to pull us out from the depths of misery and depression. That’s why we came up with the concept of luck. It lets us shift a little of the emotional load from ourselves when bad things happen, and recognize that even the best executed plan could not end as successfully if some unforeseen factor were to suddenly appear. Sometimes you can feel like the luckiest person ever when everything goes according to your plans and wishes, and sometimes it feels like the whole world is conspiring against you. I agree with you that by attributing everything to luck we willingly give up agency over our own lives to chance, and that’s not a healthy way to live. But at the same time I see nothing wrong in believing in luck.

Am I lucky? I believe I'm not. When I always need luck, it leave me and that learned me never trust luck. Hard-working and determination it's key to success. Every person should keep this principle. When I see difrent people they have a lot lucky I dont know why. Should I believe that luck exist and help person who dont talented?

1. It depends on how we interpret "lucky", but I think I'm lucky but not in all situations.
2. I think sometimes people use luck to move responsibility from themselves, but you often have to make your own luck.
3. Yes.
Am I lucky?
I have a good family, good friends, good work. All in my life go in a good way. But am I lucky? No. I don’t believe in luck, I believe in blessings from God.

The luck for me is nothing else than the gift (‘bless’) from God. I can write a lot of about my opinion, but I know the question, that everybody asks me, after whole my thoughts. Why a lot of people is not Christians but have a lot of ‘luck’ in their life. The answer is - because God is love and He loves everyone.

Does luck exist from your point of view?
No.

I think that luck is artificial construct created by humans. It certainly exists and have its effect on humans, I just don’t think it is some mysterious force but rather just sequence of good or bad outcomes. We use terms “lucky” and “unlucky” to describe some people or even objects just because it is easier. When we say “This dude is lucky” everybody understands, that whether he won a lottery or het got married a beautiful woman, something good happened in his life, probably even repeatedly, and he is more than satisfied with the results. But in fact, everything that happened was meant to happen. Because there is no random in this world. Even result of simple flip of a coin is not random. It depends on various things: what amount of force you applied to the coin, if there was a wind or not and so on. We just simplify things and disregard these facts. Same in our life. Everything that happens to us has a huge list of events which lead to it. So luck is just our lazy assumption, our desire to simplify things, while in reality it is just natural order of events.

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and naturally.
