Week 9 [28.05.2018-03.06.2018] Electronic Entertainment Expo – the biggest game event in the world.

Electronic Entertainment Expo – the biggest game event in the world.

If you never heard of E3 then let me introduce Electronic Entertainment Expo called shortly E3, which is the biggest game event in the world. E3 takes place at the beginning of June in California’s Los Angeles Convention Center every year since 1995. The almost 75 thousand square meters venue is filled up with expositions and display from various companies trying to show off their work.

So why should gamers pay attention to E3?

Well first of all E3 is a time of big announcements! Big companies like Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo tend to wait for E3 even if it’s a little bit out of their release cycle to reveal new and innovatory things. So at each E3 we can expect some big reveals like a new console, a new franchise(game), a long awaited sequel or remake etc.
Secondly, a lot (and I mean it) smaller companies try to shine during E3. Since the E3 and buzz around it creates so much hype in the gaming community any announcements during that time tend to get more attention than they would get otherwise – most of it is because of media being more cautious around that time.

Alright its cool and all but I’m not much of a gamer nowadays. Why should I pay attention ?

Well E3 while being focused around gaming it’s also a place for tech innovations and all sorts of other stuff. We get to see what big companies think about the future, various services get announced, for example platform changes, new projects, innovative solutions. Trust me, there is a lot more to E3 than just games.

June is around the corner and so on June 12 E3 starts this year. What should we expect?
Well , first of all the following big companies confirmed their presence during E3:
  • ·         Electronic Arts (EA)
  • ·         Microsoft
  • ·         Bethesda
  • ·         Ubisoft
  • ·         Square Enix
  • ·         Sony
  • ·         Nintendo

With the PlayStation 4 Pro getting obsolete  we expect Sony to reveal a new Console during E3.
Microsoft should follow suit if they want to stay competitive , so we can expect at least 2 new consoles being announced.
Bethesda, Ubisoft and Square Enix   are expected to show new games and announce their release dates.
Games like The Crew2, New Assasin’s Creed, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Division 2(Ubisoft), Death Stranding, Spider-Man game, The Last of Us 2 (Sony), Metroid Prime 4, Smash Bros (Nintendo).
We expect Anthem and a new Battlefield to join the announcement list by EA’s hand.
And we can never be sure what else is yet to show up. I’m awaiting  June 12 with big hopes.
Aren’t  you ?

Questions:
Have you heard of or even been to E3? What was it like?
Do you pay attention to gaming news?
Do you know any cons you would like to become bigger in the future?
What’s your take on big conventions like E3, BlizzCon, TwitchCon etc?

Honestly I don't have much to say in this topic. I don't take care about gaming events like those mentioned above and also I'm not a 'real' player. I have few games which I like to play from time to time but that's all. I have more important things to do and also my hobbies or ways of spending free time are not related to gaming. I had one game in my life that I played a lot. It was Battlefield 3.

I've heard about E3 although I'm not very into gaming events or gaming overall. I more into tech stuff which is not related to games and I personally have more interest in tech events like CES (The International Consumer Electronics Show) or Google I/O. So it's obvious that I don't pay attention to new games when they announced or released.
What's my take on those gaming events? Well, I presume tickets to such expos are as ridiculously overpriced as on other events of this kind (CES included). Organizers know that fans will not miss such opportunity especially if this event is held only once a year.
I played my fair share of Battlefield 3 too :)
About those games you play from time to time could u name a few?
Good point on the tickets although E3 keeps theirs fairly moderate i believe they have 250$ ticked for 3 days while CES has 250$-1400$ish range depending on what u want to see.
Would u be more interested in going to such even if the ticket price was lower? Or overall whole travelling to another country for an even is too much to attend an yearly show?

Have you been to Google I/O or CES before?

I have heard about E3 bu I never attended it. I try to keep up with new titles being released but there are so many of them that it's simply impossible to know about everything.

I've heard that there are such events, but I've never heard of E3, and I wasn't at all like that. I like to play FIFA from time to time on PS4, but I don't follow any specific game news. Perhaps I used to wait for the premieres of the games, but now I don't have it any more. Maybe I have already grown out of this.
Frankly, I'm not interested in such events, I don't even know when they are. I don't know why I have it.
Any particular title you are hyped about this year ?

Have you heard of or even been to E3? What was it like?
Heard about E3 for a few years now but never been there. Saw some streams from it or youtube video shoot at the event. Usually to get all compressed information watched some youtube videos on the topic of interest. Don't really like to be in such a huge crowd with nose coming all over. This limitless waiting in line... Experience for sure not for me

I didn't heard anything about this exhibition and computer game is not my interest. One of the reasons that I sometimes read the computer game news is the attractiveness of the characters and the amount of sales and the interest and breadth of the market associated with it.

I haven't heard or been to E3 whatsoever. I don't pay attention to any gaming news, as I simply don't care about gaming business. To be honest, my gaming knowledge ends on EA FIFA teams, so I think you get the point. What's my take on such conventions? I don't have an opinion, but I think it is cool to have and visit ones when you're fan of games.

I have never been to E3, but I certainly have heard about it. I want to be up to date with newest releases of largest computer gaming companies. Also I’d like to know more about Battlefield V on the upcoming event, because I am considering buying a game themed in WW2. I don’t watch other big conventions, E3 has by far most appealing in content to me.
Are you waiting for any particular annoucement on this years E3?
What if there was big Fifa con ? Would you think about going to such an event?
Where / how do you watch E3 ? Are you watching it live on Twitch or any other platform? Or are you disciplined enough to wait for a summary articles?
Unknown said…
Yes, I’ve heard about E3. I’ve seen some videos of that event on YouTube ;).
Yes, I like to be up to date with new computer games. The last big premiere that I loved was the new God of War.
Hmm, honestly I don’t know any other cons, that could become bigger in the future.
I’m not that big freak of those gaming cons, but they seem very interesting and I’ld like to take a part in it someday.

I have never been to E3 but I have heard about it. Hmm, I don't pay attention to gaming news because it's not something what interests me. Of course, I have played some titles but when I was young. I have spend about 4000 hours on Counter Strike 1.6. Nowadays, I like to play FIFA/NBA series with my friends in free time. I don't know about any other gaming events but after small research I found website: http://www.eventsforgamers.com. Do you think that there are all of the biggest gaming events in the world?
I have never heard about E3 and never been to it. I am not interested in such events and the variety of games I have played is not so impressive. I get to know about "the latest gaming news" from youtube videos posted few years ago. After this I hope you will be able to understand my obsession with game industry. If I were a big fan of computer games It would be real pleasure to visit such impressive game event

Have you heard of or even been to E3? What was it like?
No, actually it's first time that I hear of it.

Do you pay attention to gaming news?
Not really. I do like Witcher, but that's about it. And since it's a Polish game, it could appear on Polish game expo, no need to going to Los Angeles ;)

Do you know any cons you would like to become bigger in the future?
I guess Witcher is big enough for now :) I would like to start playing on the console, cause I never had one and only played with my friends at their houses. If a game comes up that makes me buy the console, that would be a big thing.

What’s your take on big conventions like E3, BlizzCon, TwitchCon etc?
I am not a real gamer actually, so I don't even know what is happening there, sorry.

I have never been to E3, but I would like to. I pay attention to gaming events that take part close to me, for example in Warsaw. So i dont really have any opinion about big cons, tho I would like to visit one. But unluckily, I dont have time for that(

Do you watch or follow E3 in any way ?
From what i have seen yes. That site had all events ive heard about listed.
U might want to look out on this years E3 then :)
As far as im aware we re expecting news about either new witcher game or Cyberpunk 2077 from our Polish devs at CDProjectRed.
Blizzard has gone to shite since its takeover by Activision, long are past the glorious days of Warcraft and StarCraft franchises.

Why is that ? Why do you think it got worse ?

Have you heard of or even been to E3? What was it like?
I watch what's new during E3, but I've never been to it. But I want to go there as soon as I will have opportunity to visit USA.

Do you pay attention to gaming news?
Yes I do - I have to because I work with the games.

Do you know any cons you would like to become bigger in the future?
Not really - all I know are already bit conventions.

What’s your take on big conventions like E3, BlizzCon, TwitchCon etc?
They are needed to promote new technologies and games as well as make the market much more alive and interactive between producers and gamers.

Have you heard of or even been to E3? What was it like?
Unfortunately I have never been there or even heard of. But I think that is one of the greatest event for players.
Do you pay attention to gaming news?
Not really, of course I am aware of what is happening in gaming world, but not carefully.
As a gamer i have heard of E3 many times but unfortunately never been on one, i am looking to visit E3 at some time though. Gaming news are becoming more like an orthodox journalism, where money and "bigness" of a gaming company decide that their game is good, and all the "official" critics agree with that, that is why i don't trust news about games, but i check them ocasianally to know what has been developed. I would like a BronyCon to become bigger and more international, please don't hate me. I think that such conventions are first and utmost an entertainment, and should be organized to provide one.
Yes I have heard about E3 but I am not really into it. The trickets are pretty expensive and I am not a huge fan of any game I play just to relax after work, but ofcourse If I would be given an oppurtunity to go I will definatelly use it. Not really I am just waiting for a game like "Witcher 3" which is my favourite right now. About those big convention I have nothing against them if someone want to spend money on it why not ;)
Unknown said…
No, unfortunately not. I'm not intresting in that kinds of event except maybe for Battlefield relese event. This is the ony game I've played.
As I've mentioned, I'm paying attenion only for some FPS game, BF in particular.
This conventions must be fun, I like the idea, it gives a lot of enterteiment to people which are intrested in. They have their hobbies and event like that helps them meeting new people and feel their "beign in community" I think ;)

I heard about E3. I'm waiting for them this year. I have been watching these conferences since two years. Definitely the best period for players.

Yes, I'm browsing websites dedicated to gaming information.

I can't think of anything at this moment.

I love all the big games related convention. Of course, I don't follow everybody as carefully as E3, which I consider to be the best convention. I am waiting especially for Sony conferences and for information about the new red dead redemption 2.

I heard about E3 before. Years ago when I was a gamer I used to watch every E3 conference. Sadly, I have never been to it.
I used to pay attention to gaming news. I was reading all games news and watching relations from events like E3. Now I don't have so many time to care about it.
Once I was in Polish con called Poznań Game Arena. I think it was pretty big and hope that now it evolving and becoming bigger and better known.
I think that this kind of cons are really great events and should be even better promoted.

I haven't been to E3 but I read about new information and game announcements during this event. I always liked this event and other similar as there is a lot of new information in just a few days on games that are promising and worth noticing.

I have never heard, or just don't remember even if I had. I am just not into that topic. Some of my friends like to play on consoles, but I have no idea if it is new or not, I can play it and have fun - that is enough. I don't think you should always strive for buying the last generation stuff. But if it your job or business you should orient well, so maybe for such people these conventions are essential. If I was one of them I would visit that event for sure.

I've heard about this event, but I haven't been to it. I'm a fan of computer games but not that big to pay thousands of zlotys to flight to the USA and participate in such event.

I don't pay attention to gaming news daily, but I try to be up to date with the rankings.

I don't care. I have many friends who are into games, so I'm happy that there are that many conferences that might interest them.

I have never heard or been to E3 so I cannot tell how was it like but I would surely go one day because I like video games and seeing all the announcement and newest stuff, it's kind of exciting. I usually don't pay much attention to gaming news but some of them I found and i'm excited for the release. I am not able to judge who I would like to become bigger in the future because I don't know who is better , has better chances or is more liked. But I can say a love nintendo because it reminds me of all my nintendo Ds games and I still love them so much.

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and naturally.
