Most
of the people are complaining about boredom during the winter time. Of course
they are happy at the beggining of that season thanks to snowing, christmas
time but after few weeks they are getting tired because of lack of physical activity. Whilst
you don’t have any influence of changing seasons, you don’t have to wait till
summer because there is perfect solution which calls snowboarding.
There
are a lot of advantages of this winter sport. First of all it puts you in a good
mood due to releasing endorphins responsible for happiness. It also increase
your flexibility because you have to change directions. Moreover it requires
body balance. You are increasing self-confidence whenever you obtain new skill
and crossing your own barriers. If you like muscle traning, you have to try
snowboarding because during ride your major muscle groups works especially feet
and ankles.
Beginning are always difficult, but after
couple of hours you can manage to keep basic position. It is also helpfull to
take some lessons from specialist who carefully explain to you how you should start
with your adventure. Instructor will explain to you for example: how to keep your
balance, how to deal with falling and walk uphill. It is
worth to buy some protectors for your tailbone and knee, trust me- you won’t
regret it. If you are afraid, you can start to sliding down from begginers
slope, before you will practice on normal one.
You can check the link below to find
out how to obtain some of snowboarder skills.
I
have started my snowboarding adventure few years ago, but honestly I wish I
could start earlier. When I tried it for the first time I realised that it’s an amazing sport. Since I began to learn snowboarding, every year I’m practicing. Truly
speaking now I can’t imagine winter without atleast one excursion during this
time.
Questions:
- How do you feel during the winter time, are you more depressed than in summer?
- Have you ever tried snowboarding? If yes - describe your feeling about that activity, if not – have you ever tought about it?
- Do you have any other propositions to make that time more active?

Making time more active? There is a ton of ways doing it ;) When it comes to sports, martial arts is what I like the most - it makes me really relaxed. Despite sports there is so much thing we can do: meet someone, explore world, eat great stuff, party all night long or read some epic book series. There is so much thing that life allows us to do.
I've been snowboarding for 12 years now, unfortunately with some pauses over the years. Especially when riding on big mountains (and especially off the course), it is awesome. The views. The speed. The adrenaline. Riding the fresh puffy snow. I've also been learning some tricks before (grabs, spins and some grinds) and it was one of the best aspects about snowboarding, and is something I want to refresh this year. There is no better way of spending the winter than on the slopes, no matter of what you're riding. I've been skiing for a couple of years before I started snowboarding and even though I do not enjoy it as much as snowboarding, I know it can be just as much fun for some :)
I have been snowboarding for a few years. I really liked it very much, but it become boring to me.
In winter we can make out time active by skating as well. Of course if someone hates winter there are lots of activities which are available all the year for example swimming pool or gym.
Although I've never tried snowboarding I always wanted to try. I tried to skiing few times and I liked it, so I think that I would have liked snowboarding too. I believe I'll try it in nearest future.
I tried snowboarding but it's not mine. I broke my leg and after that, I have never tried snowboarding :(
Now, I prefer walks in the mountains or travel :)
I have never tried snowboarding and, honestly, I'm afraid of it a little bit. But I'd like to try with a good instructor.
When I'm on my way to work or I'm sitting in the office I hate it - it is cold uptside, there is an ice on the sidewalk.
But - my dog loves snow, so there is nothing better than walk with her, when there is snow everywhere. Even though it is cold outside, I'm warmed-up from inside, really. I believe you have never seen such happiness.
I have never been snowboarding or skiing and as for now I haven't thought of it.
My favourtie way of being active during winter (when there is snow) are making snowman, snowball fight (or throw for dog) and walking my dog
2. I have been skiing for more than 15 years and for a long time I haven’t considered trying snowboarding as skiers can go much faster than snowboarders. However, this winter I want to try snowboarding just to check if it can give as much fun as skiing.
3. I try to compensate this bad influence by physical activities – I am trying to play squash, go to the gym or even go for a run when weather conditions are satisfactory. However, currently I find it really hard because I am a bit overloaded with my daily tasks.
I have never tried snowboarding but I really want! I have talked about that with my friends who has a lot of experience in snowboarding. I hope that I will do it in next winter break.
I like to play football with my friends - the best example of activity and teamwork (for me of course :P). What do you think about my proposition?
2. I’ve never tried snowboarding. Actually I am not fond of winter sports. For me, winter doesn’t disturb in jogging. It looks differently then, but it is possible also when it is freezing cold.
3. That time can always be active. If not, we can always go to fitness club and choose the exercises we like. We can also start dancing course or meetings with personal trainer. Of course, those activities are indoor ones. As outdoor activeness, apart from jogging, I accept also long walks.
I absolutely love snowboarding, it's my favourite winter sport. I guess it's also my favourite sport overall. When I'm snowboarding I fell like I have no reason to worry about anything at all. I love to go out skiing or snowboarding together with my friends, we can literally spend whole day outside. I would recommend this activity to anyone that likes to spend time in an active way.
There are a lot of ways to stay active. I would really recommend to try going to the gym or even some martial arts. I used to take part in some martial arts for some time. It was a really great experience, but it takes a really great amount of time.
I've tried skiing in Białka Tatrzańska, and I had a lot of impressions. There was a lot of tracks, and I even came down the red track without any accidents. The only problem is money - you have to rent skis, ski bots, ski poles(not mentioning that you have to rent a flat first of all), then you have to purchase ski passes. But, of course, it's worth it :)
I think not, I do my activities as well. I only can not wait for some outside events.
Have you ever tried snowboarding? If yes - describe your feeling about that activity, if not – have you ever tought about it?
I tried first time in the begging of the current season, but only for a few hours, rest of the time I spend on skiing, which I use from many years. Returning to the merits snowboarding was kid of fascinating, and I will practice it in future.
Do you have any other propositions to make that time more active?
Another good option in winter for me are skating. Icerings are open in some cities and are only in winter season. For that reasons I recommend that kind of active.
I love winter, only when it's snowing. I don't like when it's clap. I don't have any depression as some think that winter is very cool and you can certainly spend it interestingly practicing skiing or snowboarding. Yes, I tried snowboarding and skiing. In my opinion skiing is more interesting. Even if it's not possible to go to the mountains, you can always spend the winter going to the pool or skates.
I have been skiing for 12-13 years now, but I have never snowboarded. Maybe one winter I will swap the gear and learn new thing.
During the winter you can sit on your couch, drink warm tea and watch every series on Netflix.
Constantly, especially in the city. Out in the woods it is quite fun.

Tried it, loved it but last time was about 10 years ago. I'm working a lot and currently prefer to spent vacation in the Summer.
Do you have any other propositions to make that time more active?
I do not understand this question - to make Snowboarding more effecting ? It already is ;]
Yes, I have tried snowboarding and really liked it. I love it , because first of all - Incredible adrenaline rush, second of all - a lot of difficult trails, techniques and styles of snowboarding, which will keep your interest in snowboarding for many years.
Let me think, ice skating is pretty cool, good old snowball game is always will be in my heart.
But I still can ice skate, walk in the mountains - I love mountains, play snowballs and make snow figures;)
No I haven't because I don't live in mountaint and I consider it to be dangerous
if it was snowing I would play snowballs
I am happy when the first snowflakes appear, when I see first signs of approaching
Christmas, it all creates magical atmosphere. I have never tried snowboarding, because
in my youth I did not have much money to buy complete ski outfit. Also a trip to the mountains during high season was quite expensive. At present, I did not try it out yet, because of lack of time. The defense
engineering work is coming and I'm preparing to this. Maybe when it is over, who knows, I will go to Tatra mountains and start learning snowboarding. Another reason is that in Warsaw there are many attractions. For example ice skating, climbing, attractions in National Stadium and many more ...
I am not more depressed in witer than during summer. I have never been depressed because of the weather or season. I've tried snowboarding but I don't like it. I've been skiing since I was 7 and I just don't feel like changing it :P I make my time more active during winter by skiing and ice skating. Additionaly all the indoor activities, like gymnastics or climbing.
I have never tried snowboarding. I used to ski only once in my life. Sometimes in winter I go ice-skating - I really like it!
My proposal will be a trip to the mountains! I encourage all to visit Zakopane.
I love snowboard. Going freeride to the forest is one of the best things i have done. It is completly different experience, no people that only makes you angry, deep fluffy snow etc.
I love to listen music while snowboarding.
very experienced skier! I would love to start at 6 too
I thought about it, but don't want to start from scratch.
There are a lot of winter sports, I think everyone should try them.
Nope, I usually don't have time for that - Its usually end of semesters or fiscal years, so both at work and school I have things to do. Besides, nothing can beat skidding (I wouldnt call myself drifting) your car here and there...
>Have you ever tried snowboarding? If yes - describe your feeling about that activity, if not – have you ever tought about it?
Unfortunately my parents are doctors, so I hear plenty of "these cool stories" about both motorcycles and snowboarders with paraplegism, also I'm a good skier and don't like sitting on cold snow for most of the time.
>Do you have any other propositions to make that time more active?
Well, writing your comments half an hour before the deadline? I don't know, but in winter its mostly "winter sports" and, well... drifiting?
Snowboarding is really really fun i prefer it over any other winter sport, although im not doing it much lately unfortunately.
I would suggest to travel more, but no to the places we have not been yet, or to the places we visit during winter - go travel to the places u have never been in winter and check them out when the snow is down, trust me they change a lot.
