Week 12. [15.06-21.06] Ashen Cabin

3D printers are known since 1974 when David E. H. Jones published his concept of 3D printing in the journal New Scientist but first materials to make the 3D prints and equipment to that was developed at the beginning of 1980’S. Nowadays I guess that everyone is familiar with this technology and it became available for everyone’s use and you can easily buy one.
As it comes to materials used in the 3D printers traditionally there are used polymers, basing on the ease of manufacturing and handling polymeric materials. However, we have also learned how to use metals or ceramics in 3D printing, and it became a versatile option for manufacturing for many factories.
When it comes to human imagination is endless so having a 3D technology and wanting to reuse some wood wastes the HANNAH designed studio created Ashen Cabin. It is a small house in the middle of the forest in Van Etten, New York, built only with use of a 3D printing technology and robotics and every element of it was precisely designed including chimney.

To build this original cabin the HANNAH studio used infested wood from ash trees which normally is burned to accelerate its decomposition. Thanks to 3D scanner it was possible to retrieve data from several pieces of ash trees, which later allowed a 6-axis robot to tut the logs precisely with the pattern and that’s how the walls has been made. Then in addition to the facade of this small house a 3D printer made entire base of the cabin but also the floor, the interior fittings and as mentioned earlier the chimney.

1.    What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
2.    Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
3.     How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?

1. I have never used one and saw one working yet. I simply wasn't that interested in this technology even though it is really important nowadays and can be used in many places.

2. Yes I think that many companies think about this type of building. I think we will see more and more things built using 3D printing technology.

3. Well its kind of small but the design is interesting. It's not a typical building that you see everywhere. I think everyone would agree on that and if they would see something like this in the forest they would definitely take a closer look on that.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?

It's amazing. I am using it to just print fun things for my own use or gifts to my friends and also I use it a lot when I need to do rapid-prototyping of my job projects. It is really amazing tool that allows us to make our abstract concepts real.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?

Perhaps, there are a few things connected with strength of such constructions but if it isn't a big deal - deffinitly

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?

It has something special. It's great concept but I personally prefer more classical constructions
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
My uncle has 3D printer and he let me use It to print Warhammer pieces so I wouldn’t need to pay for it. I realize this is not 100% legal, but I use them only for my own amusement. When I participate in real Warhammer tournaments, I don’t use them.
2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
I think this is awesome. Especially for simple cabins or even as a replacement for houses in United States, since their houses are feeble anyway.
3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
It is absolutely awesome I would love to live in something like that. It goes along with my plan to move out to mountain area.

1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used

I think this technique is very useful. But it should be remembered that the possibilities of using spatial printers depend mainly on the method of manufacturing the product, available materials and partly on the cubic capacity of the device. The bigger the printer, the more expensive the product is. For the time being, products printed with 3d printers do not seem to be as durable as those produced in the traditional way. However, I hope that this technique will allow the printing of human organs.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
I can't answer that. If the product is cheap and durable, it will surely gain popularity.

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
I'm thinking about this product as a curiosity. I think this house is a little small.

1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
I haven't but it is obvious that this technology will ever only continue to grow.
2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
Quite possibly. It is efficient and cheaper than regular building, so yeah, why not.
3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
Cozy place, I think I could live in this.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
I think it is quite useful because you can do a lot of things and it don't cost too much as well. I saw on youtube how some company which want to build houses with 3D printers did model in scale 1:1 for human which was realy interesting. I will even have some elements from 3D printer in my thesis.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
I think this will be very popular in some places of the earth but it require few more years to be more improved.

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
I think this is quite interesting and it has potential. In future when technology will be more improved it can be even more popular.

1. I think it's not only the future but the revolution is happening just now. It can be so widely used that for sure it can revolutionize the world of every kind of constructions. I've never used it but I watched some videos about it.
2. I think it could be popular in the future because it may be somehow cheaper to produce materials this way. Maybe it's also more ecological. But for sure the technology has to be improved to be so widely used.
3. I like it. The design is slick, modern and clean. It's small but sufficient. In my opinion it's a good and needed step further to the future of house development technologies.

1.
No, 3d printers are quite expensive and when you want to build it yourself then
it requries a lot of parts and skills to assemble and it's quite costly, it's a nice hobby though.

2.
I doubt it, in my opinion the developer companies will try to stop progress in this field, so they dont' loose money.

3.
It's a little weird looking, but I like it. It has a minimalist feel to it that signalizes that this house was built in a different way

1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
This is a great technology. One of the most advanced technologies, it seems to me that printing various elements on such equipment can be used in absolutely all areas of life, especially for those areas where the construction or creation of any high-precision calculations for designing various parts is required. I would not mind having such a printer at home, I would like to come up with something interesting.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
I think that it will be popular in the future, and today it is not such a cheap pleasure. Not everyone can afford a house created using such technology, but such houses would certainly differ among others in a number of engineering advantages.

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
I think this is a very interesting project, especially in the 21st century. Fans of environmentally friendly things will appreciate such developments. I like this idea. Create a house using high-precision technology from an environmentally friendly product in an ecological place.
1. Yes, I finished mechatronics at the Warsaw University of Technology. I had the opportunity to participate in laboratories where we used 3D printers. Once, I even created my toy on a 3D printer. It seems to me that I know the 3D theme very well and it doesn't make such an impression on me anymore.

2. The construction of houses from ready components is already becoming very popular in Poland. A team of construction workers arrives and erects simply finished walls. When it comes to wooden houses and 3D printers - I don't believe this idea. We know - it's a nice ecological way, but it is worth paying attention to the durability of such houses. In Poland, the climate is changing, storms are becoming very violent, tornadoes are becoming more common, I doubt that such a house will withstand a strong wind.

3. It looks nice, but I would never like to live in such a house. I would be afraid that if a strong wind comes or a heavy downpour the house would be destroyed.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?

I have never used it myself but I prepared some 3D models to be printed. The whole idea is amazign and it is defianately something that will revolutionize peoples approach to solving problems. If there is a need for example for a part of some sort which doesn't require huge durability people can model and print those themselves. That's a revolution.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?

In the future it will be a thing for sure. I have read about NASA's plans of uisng 3d printers and their ideas seem very promising. They want to use moon dust as the main production material for their projects. They even have 3D printers which can print other 3D printers. That's some next level stuff.

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?

I think it is a revolutionary approach to construction and this might show others that imagination is the only limit thanks to 3D printing.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
I think 3D printing technology is amazing. We can for our purpose print everything we want. If something break then we print a replacement part. We need only a project in CAD and proper materials. I have never used 3D printing technology.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
Maybe. We will see. If production costs are low then who knows. Maybe in the future many houses will be build using 3D printer. I don’t know about materials strength.

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
I think the final product is very interesting. It’s looks like a house. For me it’s funny and too small. I think it’s a good prototype and maybe for some people this house is perfect.

1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?

I think it's great although I have never used it. But I'm planning to buy a small 3d printer for fun purposes. Or to get it as a present, don't mind =). But you know, not the big one, I don't need such.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?

Maybe yes, maybe no, but I think it can be popular for building on other planets, especially first buildings for the future colonists.

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?

Seems strange but if it's comfortable inside - why not? And if it's made that way, the materials cost nothing - excellent.

1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
Yes, I print something from time to time, just to increase my creativity. 3D printing has lots of advantages, I'm waiting for a moment to use 3D printers in medicine (faster than it is being used now)
2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
I don;t think so as it probably takes too much time and effort to scale up a solution. But still 3D printers has so much to do in the construction industry that I'm not worrying about it.
3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
Nice work but still as I wrote above - it would be probably hard to implement in massive production.

1. I think it's a great and very future-proof invention. I think it is a great and very forward-looking invention, which can develop in many areas such as construction, architecture and medicine.
2. I think it has a very big potential. Especially nowadays, when people are looking for different options to get out of crowded cities due to pandemics. However it all depends on the price of this house.
3. The building is undoubtedly very original and unique. I would have to see it live to be able to assess its value. Its form is intriguing.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
In my opinion it is a great invention, I have used it once. I am very interested in the topic thats why I follow every improvements of this invention. I think it is really cool to use it in every kind of possible solution.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
To be honest, I think that in the future it could become very popular, but I will say that it would be in the long future, for now it is still not as good as it should be, but I dont want to say that it is bad. It just could be better and safer.

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
I looks really futuristic and I like it. I would like to rent this house for few days and try it by my own.
I'm sure I've read about it recently. 3d technology is a nice curiosity, although it is too slow for normal life use in my opinion. I happened to use a 3d printer and it does a nice effect, which does not change the fact that at the moment it is just a curiosity. Maybe in 10-20 years this technology will be so developed that it will be used in industry. In my opinion, each new construction method must be considered if it is faster. Such elements made with a 3D printer seem to be ok. For me, the final effect, which is this house is nice, but in my opinion it is attractive.

I think that 3d technology has many advantages, but it requires even more development to make sense. I've studied mechatronics, so I've been dealing with 3D printing a lot.

I think that one day we will come to the point where we will build houses, because we are trying to make our life easier and easier.

I think it's very nice and interesting.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
I think it is pretty cool but it still needs more development. It is not available as much as 2d printing and it still has to come long way to become relevant.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
I don't this so. Maybe some parts of houses could be printed by 3d printers but I think it is not efficient. Maybe if this technology will become popular and cheap than maybe it will have a chance.

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
It looks nice but I wouldn't like living in it. It is too small but on the other hand maybe that would be nice for people who live alone and don't need too much space.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?

I have never used any 3D printing technology but I think it's a very good and useful idea that can help everyone to have many different objects easily

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
I believe 3D printing will become popular in the coming days in building some parts and objects used to build houses but not building the whole house using just 3d printing.

3. How are your thoughts on the final product of Ashen Cabin?
It looks clean and beautiful but somehow small but generally, I like it.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?

I think it is amazing. Also, I hope it will develop even further than it is now and in the future, we will use the full possibilities of this great technology. unfortunately, no. My colleague was doing some stuff with it and even showed me the results, but I haven't seen it or used it by myself.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?

I think yes. I the near or not so near it could become one of the main ways of building houses. To be honest, I am not an expert in building a house, so I don't know what measures should be done and what are some security technologies to build it, but I think 3D printers could deal with it.

3. How are your thoughts on the final product of Ashen Cabin?

It looks great. I find it beautiful and cozy. I would like to chill in such a place.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
I think it’s really great invention, it really sped up prototyping some projects. Unfortunately I haven’t used it, but to be honest even if I could I wouldn’t know what to print.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
I think it might become very popular, if it would as cheap as other options.

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
I think it looks really good, and unique but if it would become more popular I don’t think I would like it, the uniqueness is the key.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
I considere 3D printing as something very cool and helpfull but i unfortunatelly have never used it. Looking forword to do so.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
I think that we will wait for it becoming popular for a while.

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
It looks prety nice and minimalistic. I like it.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
3D printing technology is a great invention that opens a lot of opportunities from building houses to creating human organs. I haven't used it by myself, but sometimes I watch videos and read articles about that.
2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
It depends on its price. Of course it can automatizes building process and reduces human work. I'm sure that I will become very popular if houses built with 3D printer would be cheaper.
3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
I would never thought that this house is built by 3D printer and it's amazing. It looks very minimalistic and small, so it is a great option to spend weekends there.
1. I have never used a 3D printer. I have heard and read about its properties and capabilities and the fact that nowadays it is becoming more and more popular. In the era of coronavirus printed protective helmets for doctors on such printers.
2. I think that in the 21st century nothing can surprise me. Of course, it is very likely that building houses using 3D printers can become popular. It all depends on the needs of both the market and whether this solution will find its amateurs.
3. To be honest, he didn't impress me. This is not my type of construction. It's tiny but I have to admit it's very original and it will definitely stand out.
1. Unfortunately I have never used 3D printer, I would because I think that you can do a lot of creative things.

2. I think it could become popular, but in places that are not subject to disasters, in the event of earthquake or other accidents, the construction may be too weak.

3. I think it looks very interesting, I would like to live in such house and assess how life looks like in it

This is one of the most interesting technologies! It covers almost all areas of our lives. Production is easy and quick, what do we need more?
2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
I consider that sooner or later it will be used and popular in the future. For now it is not cheap, but will be cheaper.
3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
I like this idea. It looks very cosy and useful, perfect for living there. It is also environmental friendly which is cool.

1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
I didn't use it, but I heard only good things about it. Recently, 3D printers helped with the shortage of ventilators, that people affected by Coronavirus needed.

2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
Everything depends on the prize. If it's cheap, I'm sure it will become popular.

3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
Looks a little bit weird, but I wouldn't mind living in such a place.
1. What do you think about 3D printing technology? Have you ever used it?
I think its absolutely 100% innovation in our world. I heard that this technology uses even in medicine for printing bones or not existing parts of human body, it saves live so my opinion its great technology.
2. Do you think that this way of building houses could become popular?
I dont think that its a good idea to build house like that, its not reliably. Maybe after 5-10 rains it fall apart.
3. How are your thoughts on final product of Ashen Cabin?
Looks great and unique. Maybe if it becomes to production he may earn a lot of money on this things. But again i dont like it because it not looks reliably.

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr
