Week 10 [16.12 - 22.12.2019] - Sleep is your superpower

How long have we been sleeping? The vast majority of Poles sleep 7-8 hours a day. Have you ever wondered what effect your sleep duration has on your body?

1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?

1. How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
I currently sleep on average 6 hours each night. Sometimes shorter, sometimes longer depends on many factors, such as whether the next day is a day off, whether I have something important to do tomorrow, whether I want to actually sleep, etc. Usually, the average length of sleep I have now allows me to function normally. However, almost every time I sleep about 4 hours a few days in a row, I feel tired and confused all the time, this feeling can be compared to being drunk. That is why I try to avoid such poor sleeping marathons, and in return often experiment with the time I spend sleeping. Most often it's a balance between shorter periods and longer ones.

2. How does lack of sleep affect your body?
So, as I mentioned in the previous point. In fact, if anything is wrong with my body or mind, I've actually had to sleep very little in the last few days. The problems in my case are most often: tiredness, confusion, yawning, slight paralysis of proper functioning - my movements are inaccurate and slow. Several times it happened to me that through very bad sleeping I had really big problems with even washing myself, using public transport or even walking.

3. Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Not exactly. As for me, I remember things better at night, when I study for tests or exams, I always do it at night. Then I usually sleep very little, and it doesn't bother me in absorbing knowledge and remembering. In fact, a lot of sleep or a small amount of sleep doesn't affect my mental skills at all, the level is always the same. Maybe in some situations it matters, e.g. if I haven't slept a long time ago, then I really need sleep to seal some information. However, I see differences very rarely.
1. Unfortunately not enough. There are periods that I can sleep 8 to even 10 hours, but usually, I sleep for 4 to 5 hours... It's not because it's enough, on the contrary, I'm always tired. I tried everything, caffeine, no caffeine, showers, pills, exercises. I've even tried the tip that the presenter told at the very end of the video, to associate the bedroom with sleeping no playing on my phone and so on. Nothing seems to work. If anybody has any tips, then please, tell me ;)

2. As I'm used to that it's easier for me to stay focused while I can't sleep at all. However, I can see that my learning abilities, reflex and memory decrease when I'm deprived of sleep. Also, I get tired easier than usual.

3. Yes. After a good night sleep, I'm even more motivated to sit down and solve a problem that I couldn't manage the day before.

1. When I have to go to work next day I usually try to sleep at least 6-7 hours. I don't feel sleepy so I think it's enough sleep for me. When I have a day off I stay in bed about 8-9 hours.

2. I feel sleepy all day. It's hard to focus on tasks because of tiredness and yawning. When I come back home the first thing I do is taking a nap.

3. Yes, I've noticed it several times before my exams. The material which I learnt at the end of the day was much harder to get it than learning it next day in the morning after a good sleep.

Unfortunately, I do not sleep too much every day, it is about 5 hours a day, sometimes on weekends I manage to sleep a little more hours. I realize that it is not healthy, but unfortunately, sleep is not my priority. If you try to combine study, work and personal life, you have to give up something.

I don't think my body's responding to sleep deprivation right now, because it' s used to it. Although I am sure that if I sleep less and do not take any vitamins, my immunity is very low. At first I started to sleep less, I was also more hungry, scattered and a little depressed.

Like I said, sleep deprivation doesn't affect my effectiveness anymore. I even think it's easier for me to focus at night, so I can do more work and absorb more information.

It depends what day it is and if I have something to do in particular. I guess on average I sleep about 7-8 hours and I really think its enough. Sometimes I sleep 5-6 hours and other times I tend to sleep even 10 hours and that is too long for me (it makes me exhausted).

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?

I'm always tired, can't focus on anything, don't have any gains from working out and I'm a little bit aggressive.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?

Yes I can see that but its most efficient when I apply my morning routine and wake up a little bit from sleep (I'm not working properly exacly when I get out of bet).

1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
I spend something around 6 hours of sleep. It is enough if I get a little workout during the day, but mostly as I work on a computer it is lacking an hour or too.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
Many ways, but as a long-time gamer I've notice that sometime it is good to not to sleep and spend whole night doing something. It help move back on more healthier sleep hours or all around sleep quality afterwards. But mostly I am tired as everyone and I have hard time understanding and processing new stuff.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Yes, it is natural, after a good sleep, mostly having a good workout or physical work during a day like wood chopping, our mind is much more focus and body feels better more natural even. It is almost strange but makes sense if you think about it for a bit.
1. Usually I sleep about six hours and it is definitely not enough. I really hate getting up early and to make matters worse, I don’t like going to sleep early either. The minimum amount of sleep to feel comfortable is in my case eight hours. In addition, during weekends I get up usually at 1 PM, which destroys my daily rhythm. It is something I need to work on. I wish I could start working at 1 PM and then go to sleep whenever I want 😊

2. I have a headache, my eyes are hurting, it’s hard to concentrate and not to fall asleep during lectures, or boring meetings. I usually have low blood pressure, even if I sleep long enough, but after 5-6 hours of sleep it is even lower and after I drink a coffee with an intention to feel better, the difference of the blood pressure feels very uncomfortable.

3. Yes, definitely. I always plan to sleep well, but I hardly ever manage to do that, except weekends 😊 It’s a pity that we have to sleep at all. So much time is lost on doing nothing…

I sleep for about 8 hours a day. I rarely sleep less while sometimes when i am really tired i sleep more. Ofcourse there are exceptions when i am ill, when i need to get up early or when it is lazy day and i just feel like sleeping longer.

I can't sleep less than 8 hours for several days straight as it leads to heavy migrene attacks that basically turn my body off. Cutting sleep hours is a deal that is not worthy as i'd rather sleep longer than be forced to lose whole day.

Obviously yes. They sometimes call brain a muscle and just like muscle - when it is tired, it works worse.
1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
I have always cared for the right amount of sleep for me. I am a person who goes to bed early and gets up early. I usually sleep about 6-7 hours and feel that this is enough for me. If I sleep more than 8 hours, I start to feel tired.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
I am very tired quickly. I think a lot slower, sometimes I even feel cold, even though the temperature around me is right. Immediately it can be seen on my face in the form of dark circles under the eyes. It isn't a pleasant experience and significantly affects my effectiveness during the day.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Yes of course . The right amount of sleep affects my effectiveness during the day, both in terms of focus and thinking or remembering information. Without enough sleep, I am very disturbed.

1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
I think it is about 8 hours, maybe little less. When I sleep more I feel tired. I think for me it is best to sleep 7 hours and this is enough time to rest and have all day to do stuff.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
I am tired and everything I do longer. Also when I am tired becuse of lack of sleep I make stupid mistakes at work or at university. I cannot think straight.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Yes. Sometimes when I sleep only a little, next day I feel I can't focus and I cannot do things as fast and good as when I sleep well. Sleep is very important to me.
1. How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?

I always sleep about 8 hours. I think that's enough, I don't feel tired afterwards and I don't have problems getting up either.

2. How does lack of sleep affect your body?

When I sleep shorter, I feel tired and sleepy all day. My productivity is definitely falling.

3. Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?

There's definitely something about that. As I said before, when I don't fall asleep I feel a drop in my productivity. In fact, when I get a good night's sleep and wake up in a good mood I feel more motivated and absorb knowledge faster.
Kuba Berliński said…

1. I usually spend arond 8-9 hours sleeping. I think it is just fine for me to charge up my batteries. I could also feel that, if I didn't sleep at least 8 hours.

2. Definitely it affects my motivation to do anything and therefore, productivity. I tend to slack at things I do on daily basis.

3. Sure. When I sleep enough I find it way easier to concentrate, which affects information absorption.
I also don't like to go to bed too early. In my case it's midnight. Although I sleep 7 hours, I still fall asleep during lectures.
So you can say that you have some fixed hours of sleep or is it a matter of chance?

Usually I sleep about 6 - 7 hours per day, and it's not enough for me. If I want to rest I shall sleep 8-9 hours, but not more, because I will feel exhausted and not rest at all.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
I cannot control my thoughts and just start staring at things. I feel tired and if i continue to have a lack of sleep I get headache.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Sure, after a good night's sleep I have great mood and energy to do things.

1. I try to get around 7-8 hours of sleep each night. This is the amount of time I need to help my body recover after a hard day, restore energy for the upcoming events and to simply wake up with positive vibe that I will maintain throughout the day.

2. When there are days that I am sleep deprived, my mood suffers the most. I’m immediately getting grumpier and moodier, I don’t talk to people too much and try to do things as fast as I can to get some peace and quiet for myself. Additionally, I tend to suffer from massive headaches that cannot be stopped with pills and accompany me until I go to sleep. In addition, my attention span is shorter, and quality of work messier. That’s why I try to avoid such situations.

3. Of course, I did! Having a good night sleep is crucial for effective and pleasant learning and working!

1. How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?

Sleep is necessary for the proper functioning of the body. The body regenerates and gets rid of toxins. I try to sleep for about 8 hours.

2. How does lack of sleep affect your body?

I usually wake up with a severe headache after sleeping more than 10 hours. Generally, malaise lasts throughout the day.

3. Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?

Over the past few years, scientists have discovered that sleep is responsible for more than just regeneration. During sleep, the brain is actively involved in the learning process, which is crucial for the development of long-term memory.

On average, I sleep about eight hours a day, and I think that is quite enough. When I go to bed earlier and sleep eight hours, I feel much better than if I go to bed later and sleep the same eight hours or more.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
I think that like everyone else, lack of sleep affects on productivity. When I do not get enough sleep I need a lot more time to fully engage in the workflow.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
In fact, a good healthy sleep has a big effect on our body. I think that as the day begins, as it will continue. When I sleep poorly I’m more irritable in the morning and some trifle can ruin my mood and it can affect me for all day. But when I get enough sleep, I have a good mood as a minimum, but this already means a lot.

I sleep 2-5 hours a day and I also know that I need at least 9 hours to feel good. I can't fell asleep in the evening and I can't awake till late hours. But since I have a job I can't be late, and I'm forcing myself to wake up. I hope my organism will adopt to new sleeping hours eventually.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
When I am not well-rested I am angry, tired, nervous, I can't focus, it is hard to think clear and remember stuff.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
I am able to work effective and efficiently and I'm in a good mood after sleeping well.

1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
I have very different numbers. And this is not very good. I understand that I should pay more attention to sleep, but lately I can’t do it. But I am focused on realizing a normal sleep pattern. To be more productive. Usually, these numbers are less than normal lately. I hope to fix this matter soon.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
In fact, while we are young, we especially do not notice the reaction of our body to lack of sleep. This thing has a cumulative effect. Now it becomes noticeable sometimes in appearance or in the scattering of attention. Some may have reduced cognitive function of the brain. In general, from theory I know for sure that this does not lead to anything good, so you need to sleep and respect this matter.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Yes, definitely. During sleep, there are a lot of useful operations for processing and assimilating information. It would seem that during sleep the body is resting, but the brain also performs its functions at this time, which are quite useful for the processes of memory and memorization. Lack of sleep just negatively affects all this. Therefore, to increase productivity and generally good brain activity, you really need to sleep, as the speaker confirms in your video.

1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
I guess 8 hours, and yes, it is enough for me to sleep around 8 hours a day, and it is strange that I will be tired if I sleep more than 12 hours. Anyway, there were many times I only slept 4 hours when I was too busy, last week there was a day I slept 2 hours only.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
The most obvious thing is that it makes my eyes tired, which causes my eyesight to drop, anyway, if I don't have time to sleep in the evening, I will still try to sleep in the day, just once I am tired, I sleep, there is no fixed time for me to sleep during the day, I think my brain can be submissive if trained.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Absoulutely yes, getting enough sleep allows me to have a good mood and attention in the morning, and attention is the most important when I have to work.
1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
I spend about eight hours sleeping and more o less this is enough for me well two more hours of sleeping wouldn't hurt either but no more.
2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
It depends how long I haven’t slept but most often I become drowsy, I fill drunk, make me forgetful and I fall asleep at every opportunity
3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
No, I did not but I must admit that it's easier to solve problems I had before good night's sleep
1.I sleep on avarage 7 hours each night but I really often change my sleep time. For example at the weekend or day off I definetly sleep longer and on working days I sleep shorter. I think this 7 hours is enough for me, however I always wake up really tired and sleepy. After the sleep the shower refreshes me and then I can go to the work with smile.

2.After a sleepless night my body behaves normally at first but with the march of time I getting worse. I’m slowly losing concetration and becoming sleepy. My body fatigue leads to headache which is not a pleasant.

3.Yes of course I noticed this when I have a very difficult test in secondary school. Day before I planned to learnt to this test I slept about 9 hours then I was lean and mean. Furthermore I learned everything to this exam in only this one day and also I got the best grade in my class.
1. How much time do I spend on average sleeping ... It depends on how tired I am and what I have to do the next day. If I had a hard day and the next day will be like that, I usually go to bed quite early - 21 or 22. I think this is the optimal time for me. However, if it is a weekend, you have to spend with friends, then I go to sleep after 1 or 2 am.

2. I know that lack of sleep is unhealthy for our body. If I sleep badly, I feel weak and I don't have much energy, I am slow, and all this makes the day ineffective for me.

3. Yes it's true. If I sleep well, I slept peacefully, the day looks completely different. I am happy, full of life and energy. I want to do something good. I am focused and alive.

I recommend sleeping to everyone!!
1. In average – about 6-7 hours daily. No, it is not enough for me but my job needs me to wake up at 6:00 and that is a real torture for me regardless of when I go to sleep. I feel the waking hour is more important for me, like going to sleep at 22:00 and waking up at 6:00 is not the same thing as going to sleep at 00:00 and waking up at 8:00.
2. Wouldn’t say there are any visible effects of that, just that I may fall asleep in public transport while going home – classic.
3. Not really. The bad sleep can affect my attention in a bad way but the good one won’t guarantee good memorizing as well.
1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
I usually spend 8 hours sleeping during the work week and 10 when I have time during the weekend. That's the perfect amount of sleep, so I’m well rested and have a lot of energy for the day. It enables me to be less stressed after a day and be more happy and positive. Some people my age sleep 5 or 6 hours and I don’t know how they function normally, because it’s not enough for me.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
When I don’t get enough of sleep I’m unwilling to do anything, I don’t perform at work as well as I’d like to and sometimes I can be rude towards people, just because I didn’t sleep well. It’s hard for me to function normally then.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Yes I have. I can learn more information, perform better at work and think more clearly in general. That’s why I make sure that before a big exam or any other important event, I get enough sleep. Although too much sleep isn’t good either, because it can make me even more tired.

1. I usually sleep about 7 hours. I think that this is unfortunately not enough. I lead quite an intensive lifestyle and I would love to find more time to rest
2. If I do not sleep, I feel lack of concentration, inaccurate performance of tasks and, in extreme cases, muscle aches (but it's more like sleeping for less than 3 hours).
3. Yes, if our body does not regenerate before the next day I feel deficiencies in absorbing more information.

1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
Well, I usually sleep for 9 hours but on average i think it will be 8 hours. In my opinion, this is enough, and sometimes even too much, because when I sleep less I feel better during the day.
2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
When I don't have enough sleep then I feel,to put it mildly, not very well: I feel tired, weak, my brain doesn't work and I want to sleep all day. But in this case, you can always find a few minutes to plunge into the REM sleep for 15 minutes (because in this state body rests the most) and the day goes on normally.
3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Vice versa. When I do not get enough sleep, the information is better perceived, because it is immediately written to the subconscious, as the consciousness is still sleeping :). And in general, the best information is perceived by me in the evening. I do not know why this is so, because it would seem that by the evening the brain should be tired and vice versa stop understanding anything, but no.

1. I usually sleep 8 hours in a day. In my opinion getting eight hours of sleep a night is enough for me to feel good and be productive.

2. If I am sleepy I feel terrible and I can notice how lack of sleep affect my body. Firstly, I have problem with thinking and consideration. Secondly, sleep deprivation change my mood, when I am sleepy I am wired and angry. Moreover, I know that lack of sleep causes high blood pressure, weight gain or even risk od heart disases.

3. Yes, I have noticed this dependence. I'm aware of the fact that during sleep our brain form connections that help us process and remember new things. So, if I have exams I always try to get enough sleep.
1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
My average is 6-8 hours of sleep. Im feeling the best when i sleep 6:30 hours. I think it is good enought.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
Its hard to concentrate on simple things and to motivate to do anything. Also im very tired and sleepy all day long.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Sure do. But also a good breakfast is needed.

1. On average I sleep about 6 hours a day, this amount of sleep allows me to function freely. I try not to sleep for more than 6 hours because when I sleep too long I feel silted, then it is really difficult for me to focus on my tasks. I think that 6 hours of sleep is the perfect amount to function properly the rest of the day.

2. In my life there were situations in which I did not sleep for more than 30 hours, it was a terrible feeling, it's hard to focus on anything. The tired body refuses to obey orders, the reaction time worsens, moreover, when I do not sleep for too long, I get nervous very quickly. I think that a long lack of sleep is very unhealthy for us, that's why I always try to sleep 6 hours a day.

3. Of course, after a long enough sleep, I think much better when I work, it is easier to focus on my tasks, it is easier to get along with colleagues from work, I also notice that if I am rested, I learn easier remember more information from lectures on studies. I remember the information I need faster that’s why I think the sleep is really important.

1. I try to sleep for at least seven hours. It all depends on the amount of duties and how long I slept the previous day. It's almost the optimal value to feel good.

2. I get nervous and upset. Then it's easy to get me off balance. The only thing that can help me then is a huge amount of coffee.

3. Of course, a good night's sleep is the basis of a productive day. Whenever I know that I need to be focused and have something important to do, I try to be well-rested.
1. I try to sleep about 7 hours a day, I think it is enough to function properly.
2. First of all, my reactions are slower, my thought processes are more difficult.
3. I am not sure if this is always the case, when I am freshly rested sometimes I have too many thoughts to absorb new knowledge.

1. How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
I tend to sleep from 6 to 8 hours and it seems fine for me. Also what is important for me is not only the duration of the sleep but also the time when I wake up. I feel much more rested when I sleep 8 hours and wake up at 10AM instead of 7AM.

2. How does lack of sleep affect your body?
When I do not have enough sleep I feel completely useless and unproductive. I can not focus on easy tasks and I feel physically weak. I am also very apathetic and introvertic.

3. Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Yes I have, that is actually an obvious fact for me. If you provide everything that your body requires it just works better than when you do not.
1. The time I spend sleeping depends on what time I need to wake up. My average sleep is 6 hours if I need to wake up earlier than 7 am. But if I don't have to wake up very early, I can sleep about 10-11 hours. I feel very bad if I sleep less than 8 hours. I know that sleeping more than normal is also bad, but I don't feel negative consequences in my health.

2. Lack of sleep affects me badly. I feel tired; I find it difficult to concentrate on something; all I'm thinking about is getting home and going to sleep.

3. Yes, I've noticed that I remember information better if I've slept enough. I'm much more active, I'm in a good mood, and learning is much easier.
1. I am quite sure I don't sleep right amount of time as i suffer for sleeping disorder. It definitely is not enough for me. I am almost always extremely tired.

2. In countless many aspects. Starting from chronic fatigue, to drop in body temperature, memory problems, decrease in immunity, general weakness, nausea, lack of appetite, irritability, mood swings etc.

3. Actually it's hard to tell mostly because of my ailments. Even when I sleep quite decent amount of time I wake up tired. It's caused by too few hours of sleep in general and it's not something you can make up in one night. So even wen I am able to sleep for 6-7 hours once a week it's not making me feel fully rested and focused.

1. 5-7 hours. I think its enough for me.
2. I'm sleepy at work/school. I don't have energy for doing things.
3. Maybe sometimes. But sometimes when I want to go sleep early I just can't fall asleep - it's too early for my brain (assuming of course I didn't have a very exhausting day)
1. About 6 hours per day + quick nap during day. I think I should sleep more, but I don't like to sleep long. I feel like I'm wasting time
2. Sometimes I can't focus on anything. Then I know that's time to take a nap. Also I'm just tired, I'm not motivated, can't focus on my tasks and I get angry much faster than usual
3. After taking a nap during day I feel much better and that's the time when I start doing some work for my studies. I doing my job much faster than before a nap. But after this 6-hour sleep I don't feel that good and ready to work. I need about an hour to wake up myself and my mind and then I can start doing something

1. I was always a fan of sleeping. I sleep my full 8 hours but I never take naps.

2. I function normally during first half of a day but then I get tired faster. For me it’s not a big deal, a lack of a few hours of sleep can be compensated with 2 espressos for me.
I really don’t remember when I slept less than 6 hours though, so I can’t really answer this.

3. Let’s say I was always aware of the importance of a sleep. But about learning I have another comment. It’s not regarding sleep but about any kind of rest. You can do anything that doesn’t drain your brain powers for a short period of time to come back and consume information as if you slept.

1. I spend about 7-9 hours of sleep. However, sometimes I like to sleep more, it depends on how much time I have spent sleeping during the week. If I had worked a lot then on the weekends, I can allow myself to sleep more than 9 hours.

2. For example, If I slept for 6 hours because of preparing for the exam or test, then after taking the exam I would sleep in the afternoon because I am very tired. The lack of sleep also affects my productivity and mood. I become more stressful and cannot work at 100%. Sometimes I need to drink energy drinks to wake up which affects my health.

3. Yes, but very important is that if I slept more than I needed then I would feel the same that in the case I slept less than 6 hours. You need to find a golden mean to be more productive.
1. Usually, I try to sleep at least 7 hours, but unfortunately it is not always possible to sleep that long.

2. Maybe it is only a placebo, but sometimes I am more productive after sleeping less. I cannot do it for a long period though.

3. It is not always the case in my case.

1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
My sleep is very variable. I usually sleep for six hours and I always wake up like 6 7. This does not change. Sometimes I sleep at 10 am I get up at 6, sometimes I sleep at 2 am I get up at 6 o'clock. But these days I went to turkey. I'm Turkish. I guess it's the weather. I never got up at 6:00. As a standard I always got up at 9pm and this really bothered me. Poland did not get the turkey while living comfortably in my sleep by sleeping so little under 9 hours. If the answer to the question is ideal for me 6 hours, but I think sleep is unnecessary if 4 hours or even 2 to 3 hours sleep if I would spend 2 hours to spend the rest more useful things.
2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
I keep going like a fool all day :). I don't understand anything or get late. I'm doing everything heavy and an unbearable day goes by
3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Yes after a good night's sleep in the morning to do lessons or other subjects are very productive.
1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
On average, I sleep 5 hours a week. Sometimes I make up at weekend. Well, sometimes it is a short night, but I care a lot to combine work with the university. In addition, I now have a diploma defense. I don't have much time to sleep, so it must be enough for me. Maybe someday I'll catch up better.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
I don't notice a lack of sleep. Sometimes I still like to go to a party somewhere. I'm used to a night of short sleep. I think it's a matter of age.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
During sleep, the body and mind rest. When I am very, very tired, actually my productivity is lower. However, at the moment I do not expect worse efficiency. As I said so, I think it's a matter of age.

1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
Amount of hour which I wish I sleep it's around 8h. Unfortunately reality is rough, I sleep beetween 5 to 6 hours.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
When I don't sleep well I feel weak, it's like I feel I could do at least 30% things more and better in case I slept well. What I need to plan for next year is to sleep more during night, less during day.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
That's definetely true. Whenever I rest enough I'm more productive, I can do more. It's not unordinary, a lot of articles confirm that fact.

1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
I usually sleep for 7 hours, which is actually normal. But of course, there are exceptions when I sleep for 2 hours or 12 hours. There are many factors on which the quality of sleep depends, for example, the temperature in the room, light sources, mattress, sleep cycles, the time you went to sleep or woke up, and many others

2. How does lack of sleep affect your body?
Of course, lack of sleep or oversleep affects me. I becoming less productive and more irritable, but a cup of coffee can save the day. But if abused, it can lead the problems with health.

3. Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Of course, after a good sleep, when my mind is clear and my body is healthy, I'm ready to move on to greener pastures.
Firstly, I have to say that I really don’t like sleeping. I know it may be weird but honestly for me sleeping is waste of time. Unfortunately, every one of us need sleep to function normally. My average sleep is from 5 to 8 hours and I think this is more then enough. Just imagine how much more time we would have in our lives only if we could not sleep at all. How does lack of sleep affect my body? Well it depends if one night I sleep about 7 hours then the next day I can not sleep at all or very little like 2 hours and it is not a big deal for me. If I sleep few days in a row less, then 4 hours then it starts to become a problem. I just simply get tired and want to go to sleep, especially when I must do something boring. I didn’t really notice that I can absorb more information after good sleep. It’s more like this: I can absorb much more information in the evening then in the morning.

1. I’m trying to sleep 8/9 hours a day, but sometimes I have too much things to do and I really like doing thinks at night, so I have less time to sleep. Of course if I have time and I need it, sometimes I sleep more.

2. If I don’t sleep enough at night I can sleep on my desk when I study. I have problems with concentration and I feel that I don’t have enough energy to do training or even idea what to do (during the training).

3. No, but I noticed that I do less when I am tired, because I have problems to concentrate on my tasks.
Hah, it’s depend on what I need to do and on my deadlines. Because as I’m lazy I always leave everything for the last moment. So sometimes I can sleep even for week with average of 4 or 5 hours. But most of the time I stick to the 7 hours daily and this is enough for me. But when it comes to lack of sleep , my eyes hurt and I feel weakly. Nonetheless if it is crucial for me I’ll absorb as much information as I need and nothing will hold me back even lack of sleep.

1,2. For me, it's a very difficult question. My sleep varies from 30 minutes to 16 hours. In most cases, I sleep less than 6 hours, and it's totally not enough for me, but unfortunately, I have no choice (or I only think I have no choice). In these cases I have a headache, I less concentrated, sometimes it's hard to remember various things. In my life were a few moments when I slept 1-2 hours for three days, and sometimes it was difficult to determine the distance to objects or was feeling that I'm not standing but floating. I think 6-8 hours is just ideal for me to be energetic, productive, and feel great. Over 8 hours is too much, and in most cases, I feel a headache all day. -_-

3. Not exactly. But I noticed that after a good sleep when I return to code that I wrote when I slept badly, I almost always find a better way to write it.
1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?

I used to sleep for not enough but at the moment I try to always have at least six hours of sleep. Eight hours seems to be the most effective amount of sleep I can have but it takes more time. I consider seven hours to be the best of both worlds. Enough sleep and enough time spent.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?

Like I said, I used to sleep way less than I should and that of course caused some problems. Besides not looking good and healthy I had some mood issues. When I had a short night I was very nervous, moody and even aggressive to other people.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?

Yes, I have noticed that. After a healthy sleep your brain works wonders when compared to the effectiveness of a brain with lack of sleep. Right amount of sleep makes you sharper, makes you remember more and gives a boost to your concentration. Too much sleep has however a similar effect to not having enough sleep. It makes you slow and lazy.

1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
6 maybe, it sucks. I really need more sleep, but I hate going to bed early. It's just that I already spend enough of my hours asleep, and working all day; I want to prolong my leisurely hours as long as possible..

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
One of the key ways that being tired affects me by decreasing my proprioception.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Yes, I have noticed that, like our phones our body also needs to be charged well.
1. How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?

I spend from 6-8 hours on average sleeping. I think it is more or less enough for me. Of course, it depends on how tired I am and what I was doing, etc. For example, the last few weeks were hard for me and 6-8 hours isn't enough for me.

2. How does lack of sleep affect your body?

I feel very tired, not focused and a little bit slow. I know, that I have to do something, but I am not willing to do this or I don't have enough power to do this. Also, when I don't have enough sleep I cannot concentrate on something or it is hard to focus on one thing at a time.

3. Have you noticed that you can absorb more information after a good night's sleep?

Yes, after a good night I feel very refreshed and able to absorb a lot of new information, quickly solve problems and deal with anything. I have a lot of energy and feel very positive.

1. About 4-8 hours, and this is quite enough for me.
2. Well, if I don’t sleep all night, then I feel very bad, I can’t concentrate, cuts down from time to time, while I walk from place to place, I’m wobbling, in short I prefer “It’s better to sleep at least an hour than not sleep at all”
3. Yes, after sleep, I feel that I’m ready to roll mountains, so I feel how the brain's working capacity is increasing.
1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
I spend usually 6 to 10 hours depends how long i can sleep during the day because I always go to sleep after midnight and stay long time with my laptop doing something.
I can always feel if the sleep amount was enough for me to don't be tired in a way that I hate.
2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
It affects me a lot, I can say every aspect of my body and life, It starts with having pain in eyes to feeling like having hangover to have problems with memory or focusing on work.
3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Yes of course, very often when I had to work overnight with some projects and I couldnt get an idea of creating or making something after long nap or short walk during the day so I can call it refresh, I have plenty of new ideas or solutions for this problems.

1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?

I used to sleep for 4 or 5 hours a few years ago and it was all I needed. Right now, I really need a good-night sleep and I have to sleep at least 7 hours and 8 is my perfect balance.

2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?

When I don’t get my 8-hour sleep I feel very tired and I have huge problems with concentration. I feel like a zombie a bit and it takes me some time to really focus on my duties at work which in the end reflects on my final performance.

3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?

Of course, I guess in my point of view, this is the most important thing I need to stick with to keep my performance at satisfying level.

Usually it is a maximum of one hour unless I buy food for the whole week, it can be 2 hours.
Lack of sleep usually results in my headaches and generally feeling bad. However, after a sleepless night I actually absorb my knowledge less well.
1. I cannot say I sleep enough time. Usually I spend less than 7 hours on sleeping. Although I had noticed that I need more than 8 hours of good sleep to feel energized and cheerful.
2. The lack of sleep results in redness in eyes, they tend to close very often. Also I need a lot of coffee. And although I can still be active in the first part of the day, I need sleep in the afternoon or I just become dull and my mood is spoilt.
3. Yes, after good sleep I am able to study better. I can drive on long distance and remain concentrated for longer time.
1.How much time do you spend on average sleeping? Do you think that is enough for you?
Unfortunately, on work days I sleep not enough time for me, it's about 6-7 hours. Because of that during the first part of day I usually want to sleep.
2.How does lack of sleep affect your body?
I have dark circles under my eyes, sometimes I cannot control my emotions. But the lack of sleep doesn't make me aggressive or tired, as well as doesn't makes me slowly thinking.
3.Have you noticed that you are able to absorb more information after a good night's sleep?
Yes, after a good sleep I can understand and analyze much more information.

I try to spent in general 6-8 hours for sleeping. Does it enough for me? It depends on when I am going to sleep. It should be earlier than midnight. The lack of sleep affects my body in really horrible way. For sure, after good night's sleep I absorb more information and also work better. Even if I sleep to much it's also affects my working capacity.

I’m trying to sleep 8 hours a day, but I don’t always have that much time. Usually I feel tired and sleepy if I can’t get at least 7 hours of sleep, and I’m very unproductive if I’m sleepy - as everyone, probably, so usually it’s better to just move unfinished things to the next day than do it at night.
Well, my productivity is suffering. I cannot stay focused on my work, and I have quite a lot of responsibilities, so usually I have to stay longer the next day.
Of course, because it’s easier to stay concentrated. I have a lot of experience of studying at night, till the very morning even, and usually everything I’ve learnt during this time was forgotten the very next day or few days after. So now I’m trying to plan my time better and do not waste my sleep time.
1. Usually I am sleeping anywhere between 6 and 8 hours. Sometimes I fall below that number but that is very rare.
2. It depends. If I slept shorter than 6 hours for a one night it doesn't affect me that much. At least I am not feeling it. However, If I sleep bad or too short for few nights in a row, then it gets to me really hard. Symptoms of lack of sleep that I notice in myself are: shorter concentration span, pain in my muscles or having hard time to focus my eyes on one thing for a longer period of time.
3. Yes, definitely. I am much more efficient when it comes to both studying and working if I am well-rested. Good sleep is crucial to our everyday functioning that is for sure.

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and natura...

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds...
