Week 11 [11.06-17.06.2018] Emotion of text

Letters thats are placed around us (street signs, stores, restaurant menus, the covers of books) have their own story. Some may say that they are speaking to us,  - telling something beyond the literal text - emotions.  However whatever they represent is a modern, finely crafted, fantastical ilussion.

Designer Martina Flor explains how we percive shapes, colors and textures of letters.

-What's your favourite font? Do you have one?
-Have you ever tried drawing your own letters?
-Do out think that in a distant future people are going to use symbols instead of letters?

my favorite font is Tahoma. i`ve installed it in my font list.Yes, I used to use informal letters in the past that the email was not very common, with interesting designs.
In my opinion, speaking in the future will disappear and communication will be done through the minds of people. As communication was through linguistic communication, but now through writing (expressing thoughts and emotions), in the future, you can communicate with someone by thinking about someone through specific devices.

I really like minimalistic fonts like Roboto and Roboto Condensed that are so common right now among Android and web developers. I usually use monospace versions of those fonts when writing code. I personally think that monospace font makes code much more readable and prettier and that's why I use it.
No, I've never tried drawing my own letters and creating my personal font, but I think that it's pretty challenging task, for sure.
I think that's very unlikely that people will be using symbols instead of letters in distant future. We are so used to letters that it seems almost impossible for us to transfer to the new language of symbols altogether. Also using symbols could create some very unnecessary complications because most of the information gathered by humanity use some type of alphabet of letters (maybe with exception of ancient Egyptians).
My favourite font is christopherhand it is really awesome but we can't use it everywhere we want to. I have never tried to draw my own letters but i work a lot with fonts and know at least 1 guy who is creating fonts. I don't really believe that all the people are going to use symbols instead of letters. It is possibly in a way when there will be only one language around the world and all the people would use symbols to make it shorter.

I don’t have my favorite font, I do believe that different fonts may represent different emotions but I don’t pay much attention to it. Of course I’ve tried to draw my own letter when I was younger and tried to be creative but to be honest my handwriting style is awful so I’ve never succeeded in it. In my opinion it’s possible than in future people will use symbols instead of letter because it would be more simple but the process of learning those symbols may be tough. I believe that someone will find solution for it and a way to replace letter with symbols.
I am not so interested in fonts and design at all that’s why I can’t even distinguish different types of fonts but I really like the minimalistic ones. That’s pretty fine that most of our devices have configurable fonts but mostly people use the default one and I am one of them. It’s hard for me to get used to new font.

When I was 8 I was fascinated with drawing different images and letters as well. It was pretty memorable experience but now I don’t have any passion to do it.

To my mind in the nearest future people most likely will use animate emojis to communicate with each other(of course it’s a joke)because most companies actively developing this technology.

My favorite font is Calibri because it is simple and elegant. I have never tried creating my own font, because I have totally no graphical skills.
I think that symbols already are in a big use - think about emojis. But I think that it will never completely replace written words.

-What's your favorite font? Do you have one?
I really like San Francisco and Billabong fonts.

-Have you ever tried drawing your own letters?
No, I didn't.

-Do out think that in a distant future people are going to use symbols instead of letters?
All human history we moved from hieroglyphs to what we have now. I think it will be step back, if we start to use symbols again.

I usually use Calibri instead of typical default choice for Microsoft Word, which is Times New Roman. I also like Helvetica. I think those fonts have more style than the default Times New Roman.

-Have you ever tried drawing your own letters?
When I was doodling during classes at school out of boredom. I drew figures, persons and also fancy graffiti-like letters. They were usually bold and drew in 3D.

-Do out think that in a distant future people are going to use symbols instead of letters?
I think that memes is a certain sign that people are starting to use symbols instead of words. In digital era we use less resources, so also less signs, when we can use "pictograms" of XXI age - memes, emojis, giphs.
Times New Roman, size 14. But seriously, favourite font? The one that reads well i guess. I used to "write" grafitties, and it's all about making your own letters in different sizes but not only. I hope people will not degrade so much as for using symbols instead of letters (no offence to chinese comrades), seeing all these "emoji speaking" in text messages just makes me ashamed of my species.

My favourite font is definitely Comic Sans. Especially went it's yellow on a white page. But seriously I don't have preferred font, as anything that doesn't look weird and is readable is good for me. I might have tried drawing my own letters but probably during boring classes to kill some time. Letters are already symbols and Latin alphabet probably will evolve over the time and someday might be replaced for another alphabet.

I don’t have my favorite font, generally I don’t care about such details. I have tried drawing my own letters when I was in primary school, back then I was fascinated about Nordic mythology and tried to invent my own letters and language. What a difference between symbols and letters, the main idea behind written communication is to share information and whether it is by symbols, emoticons, letters or videos or such is not important.

What's your favourite font? Do you have one?
I do not have one, but it is not Comic Seans. I mostly use Arial which is not very cool right now.
Have you ever tried drawing your own letters?
Unfortunately not, I had bad and unreadable handwriting.
Do out think that in a distant future people are going to use symbols instead of letters?
No, letters still be very useful, but we more and more use icon or pics to describe something.
I think that cool font is Robot made by Google as I remember for android and material design. I have't tried to draw letters. I think that letters at this time is primary way to store information and in near 300 years it will be on same place but next gen will be when computers will be integrated in to our brains.

-What's your favourite font? Do you have one?
May be if I would have the need to use some font other then standard one I would have a favorite one but for now I don't
-Have you ever tried drawing your own letters?
I had a design class once where we had to draw our own symbols but I ended up with finding examples on the internet.
-Do out think that in a distant future people are going to use symbols instead of letters?
Nah, don't think so. People are too lazy to do that.

-What's your favorite font? Do you have one?
Hard to tell, mostly it depends on the whole book, game or movie design. Sometimes even the posters and pictures have very good and nice fitted font.

-Have you ever tried drawing your own letters?
Long time ago I tried, but this was hard to achieve above any of the technical written letters.

-Do out think that in a distant future people are going to use symbols instead of letters?
Not really, the writing systems could change, but it's too deeply connected in human culture to resign from this and use just symbols when precise context may be important.

1. I don’t have my favorite font and can only recognize the most popular ones. First and foremost font should be easily readable,
2. I have never tried it.
3. In my opinion that is not going to happen as letters are one of the most common form of human communication.

I don't have a favorite font, but the one I probably use the most is called 'Helvetica'. It's set as the default one in many of the programs that I use and I find it neat enough to stay as one that I keep using.
I have been drawing some of the fonts when I was a kid, but I have never created anything remarkable nor worth any attention. It was just a way of having fun and doing something creative. I can't even recall how any of them looked like.
Hopefully, people wouldn't ever stop using letters. The idea itself seems really weird for me and I count on it not ever becoming a part of the reality. We are using a lot of symbols these days (for example emojis,) but it still doesn't seem like we're going to replace the letters with anything else. It's just some extensions to the written language that could help us with expressing our feelings on the paper.

1. No I don’t. I don’t really pay attention to fonts unless they are unreadable or ugly. Once I set font in my editors I immediately forget its name.
2. No and I don’t like calligraphy.
3. Do you mean like for example emotes? Some other forms of communication may replace written language at some point but it won’t be symbols. Since letters of our alphabets are set of already established symbols.

I don't have my favorite font but I like to use "Times new Roman" font. When I have to make documentation for my projects I like to choose simple, elegant font and 'Times' fits perfectly.
Yes, when I was very young. Nowadays, it is very funny but a few years ago I was very serious during writing letters to my family members. I'm really glad that I grew up in those times.
I think that 'emoji' are new symbols. It's strange because emails/phone messages have replaced letters but nowadays people are sending only icons... If you are happy you don't have to write it in full sentence because you can send only 'smiley face'.

I don't think I have one favorite font, but I like the minimalistic ones. And fonts in general are important in design, so some years ago I liked to look through the font sites to find some interesting and beautiful for my future projects. I have never tried calligraphy, but I plan to visit some workshop one day. And by the way, if you are interested in fonts, you can watch this film https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helvetica_(film)

We already use symbols instead of words in our everyday life, they are called emojis;) And I think that in future people will use more symbols, because everything in our life is changing to be more simple and fast.

I don`t have my favourite font. I used to type everything in "Times New Roman" 14pt. 1,5 interval, just because it was "international" standard in my countries university.
I have even tried to create my own language when I was very young. I think that symbol could be used only for some quick answers in chat between friends.

1. Calibri is my favorite font. Probably somewhere on the subconscious level I will certainly like such letters as on that bakery in Paris, and the letters aggressively or carelessly written will also leave an opinion, but I was never bothered by the question of the font. Therefore, I choose Time New Roman and Calibri, standard fonts, readable and understandable to everyone.
2. Probably when I was little, and now my own typeface is my handwriting. Some people believe that he can tell a lot about things.
3. I do not think, it seems to me that this would not be logical, because the languages will not disappear anywhere, letters and hieroglyphs (Chinese and Japanese) will be used as usual and introduce one more symbol as for me it makes no sense. The body language for me will tell you more about communication, and for this it is not necessary to use the pen and leaf at all.

I do not have one favorite font. I prefer classical and minimal fonts like Calibri or Times New Roman.
Once I had classes with calligraphy in my school. It was a great experience, we ended up with our self-projected alphabet. I designed most minimal and modest letters of all students in group.
I think that this way of communication is very ingrained and will be very hard to replace. On the other hand writing din't evolve for thousand years and there must be better way to do it.

I don't have my favourite font I just use default and I don't care which one is it.
Yes, when I was a younger I was doing it for long time, once I even get grade at school.
I don't think so that we can switch from letter to symbols. In my opinion it will be much harder and it will extend communication proccess

No, I don't care about things like this. For me it should be readable and eye catching. That's it.
-Have you ever tried drawing your own letters?
Nope, but it seems like a fun.
-Do you think that in a distant future people are going to use symbols instead of letters?
I don't think so, because that's what have changed since the first human. We came from symbols to letters.

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and natura...

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds...
