Week 7 [27.11-03.12.2017] How music affects us

Music has been a part of our lives throughout centuries. It has evolved from just clapping hands and beating stones in a particular rhythm through performing sounds using different kinds of instruments in company of human voice to modern, electronic music created by computers. Every civilization with a culture has had its own concept of it and produced various kinds of instruments. But no matter how it has been created, the reason why it has existed are the feelings it gives us.

I think that all of you have a favorite type of music that you enjoy most, that makes you feel good or that you identify yourself with. But have you ever wondered how it can affect your mind and body?

Music actually is very beneficial for your psychological and physical health. It helps you reduce stress, increase concentration, make you feel less fatigue or even make you smarter. It is scientifically proven that listening to music has a positive impact on the activity of your brain and could lead to the increase of creativity or repair brain damage. I believe that everyone heard about the idea of pregnant mothers playing classical music to their unborn kids so that they would be smarter. It is based on the so called  “Mozart effect” which is a set of hypotheses that indicates that listening to classical music (especially Mozart) in childhood leads to beneficial effects in mental development. Even better effects could be seen in people who started learning to play instruments at an early age. This process changes the brain structure by increasing grey matter volume in various brain regions and strengthening connections between them. It also leads to bigger capacity of memory, better coordination and maths skills. Albert Einstein asked why he was so smart, replied that it was because he played the violin.

But going back to music itself, apart from mental health benefits caused by music, we can experience its upsides also in our physical condition. There are many studies indicating that listening to music while exercising can increase your endurance, reduce muscle tension and improve coordination. Music has also direct impact on our body chemistry – it can lead to secretion of some specific chemicals. For example, loud and rhythmic music can give you adrenaline, which will keep you awake during a long, boring ride. Contrary, calm and relaxing music can help you get asleep by reducing nervous system activity, decreasing anxiety and blood pressure.

Here is a short video about some effects of music on our brain:

Questions:

  1. Do you like listening to music? Do you think it has some positive effects on you?
  2. Do you have your favorite music genre?
  3. Have you ever tried to learn to play any musical instrument? If yes, what were your experiences?

No, I'm that the only one person on Earth that does not like listening to music :P Of course I like music, like everybody does, there are just styles that are like more and there are styles that I'm not a big fan of. Musics works great on me, especially while coding or while being ate the work. Also music it's must have for me while doing sports.
My favourite genre is probably rock. I'm huge fan of Red Hot Chili Peppers, my favourite one for sure. I also love Beatles, White Stripes, Oasis, Pearl Jam and John Mayer. There are tons other bands/musician that I really like, but those mentioned are my favourites. All of that doesn't mean that I listen only to rock. My second favourite music type is a rap. When I was younger I used to listen to Eminem alongside to Nirvana or System of a Down, that was my beginning with rap music. I'm quite open to new things, that's why I'm not listening only "good old school" rap but also some newer ones. Despite American rap, my favourites are French rap (IAM, check it if you don't know them) and Polish rap (Quebonafide for example).
Despite rock and rap, which I listen to while having free time, there are genres of music that I listen to during specific time, for example: classical music for studying/coding, metal music for relaxing etc. I try to be open minded and giving a shoot to every music genre, that's way there are a few Reggae or Pop songs on my phone.
I've tried to learn how to play on guitar but it turns out that I'm total anti-talent when it comes to creating music, that's why I stopped doing it really quickly.

I like listening to music. Sometimes it helps me to relax or focus, so I'm more enjoying my time or I'm more productive.
I don't have got favorite music genre - I like various genres. I'm listening different music at parties than in work, I listen something else when I'm writing some document and when I;m playing at the table. What is some, what I'm listening to depends on my humor.
Oh yes, I was playing at some instruments - I even was in school band! I played triangle and cymbals. When I was adult I've learnt to play 'Kitten climbed on the fence' on baby's piano and then I played it at a normal one (I don't remebmer how to play it now)

In case of doing sports, I agree with you, I can't imagine running without music. One time I forgot to bring my iPod with me, and I'm so used to listening to music while running, that it was really strange for me to exercise without it.
By the way, you have nice taste in music. Do you also listen to artists that combine rock and rap? Rage Against Machine is my favourite one performing this kind of music. However I don't like rap itself, it's too monotonous for me. But of course it's the matter of taste. :)

I listen to music every day, I love it especially when I drive a car :) Just wondering how someone can learn and listem to music, I don't know...
Music has a very positive effect on me. I don't have one favorite genre of music. So I learned to play the piano. I played for 6 years but it is not for me.

Of course I like listening to music. I can’t imagine my life without good music. It has positive effects on me even though I sometimes like to listen music with negative emotions when I’m in particular mood.
I have few particular music genres that I like most and often listen them but I’m keen on any kind of music if only it appeals to me.
As most of us I’ve tried to learn to play on instrument. It was guitar. I’ve even managed to learn to play one song but I decided to change my hobby.

For me music it's an energy drink for me. I prefer listen to music than drink coffee. My favorite genres of music are POP and Rock.
When I was a kid, I was playing on the piano. Beautiful instrument, I miss....
Marcin Mróz said…
Haha, that's nice! What kind of songs did you play in this band? I remember that in my school on music lessons everyone had to learn to play something on cymbals and for some people it was really painful, because you have to be very accurate in case of this instrument. 'Kitten climbed on the fence' is very simple melody, I'm sure you'd still be able to play it :) I remember that when I was a kid I was able to play it on the intercom :D
Marcin Mróz said…
I also prefer to study in silence, I feel that then I'm more concentrated on things that I have to learn. Piano is an instrument that I've always wanted to know how to play. I've been playing guitar since 10 years now, but piano have always fascinated me. How could you stop after 6 years? :o

I like listening to music even though I personally know people who don't. One thing that would be the hardest for me to do without music is actually commuting to and from work. I like to be isolated from the noise around me, that is why I use a pair of noice canceling earplugs. I don't hear the traffic, I don't hear the bus, I don't hear the people, just the music. This actually lets me relax on my way and regain some energy. Also, the music itself gives me energy. Depending on the type of music it can wake me up, let me focus, relax or help to fall asleep.

I don't have A favorite music genre, I like various types of music. From big artists to indie music, from rock to classical, it just has to be good. I don't hate any kind of music just because of it's genre as I don't judge the book by its cover. Lately I even started listening to some Ukrainian rap even though this is definitely not my favorite genre.

When it comes to instruments I played piano for many years, as well as the guitar, even though I wouldn't say I was particularly good at it. Mediocre maybe. I also tried the violin, saxophone, and the drums. The latter was pretty recently and is something I'd want to continue when I have some more time, along with playing the guitar. Learning how to play is very time consuming and challenging, but very rewarding when you actually start doing well.
I like listening to music, especially when something annoying happens. Definitely yes, at least our mood is going up when we are listening to our favourite songs. Don't know about some processes in our brain, but according to video, every part of our body is trying to feel a tact.
I'm listening everything, it can be pop, rap, rock, it does not matter.
My first musical instrument that i used to play is guitar. I was playing guitar for 1 year, but now, don't have time anymore. One day i tried piano, but it was a bad idea - as my mom said, i don't have a rhythm :)
Unknown said…
I love music. I listen to my Spotify playlists everyday. Unfortunately I can't listen to music when I have to create something (e.g. programming) or focus strongly. In these situations music really distracts me. I've been trying to change this but nothing works.

I don't have my favourite music genre. I really like movie soundtracks and my favourite composer is Hans Zimmer. He composed music for "The Lion King", "Gladiator" or "Interstellar" and many many more.

I have been playing on guitar for 5-6 six years, but in high school I decided to stop. Playing on any instrument requires many hours of practicing and I couldn't do that. I was too lazy unfortunately. I still have guitars in my room but I play on them only from time to time. I love how piano sounds and I wish one day I will learn to play it.

Listening to music is I think a huge part of my life. I listen to music almost everyday all they time.
Actually I don't have any favorite genre. I just listen to anything I like. It depends of my mood.
When I was a kid I got a keyboard for Christmas and I was 'playing' it. When I was older I wanted to learn how to play guitar, but I think it demands a lot of patience so I resigned.

Music always gives me inspiration to create something. I do storywriting as hobby and a lot of things I've wrote was inspired by songs or even the whole albums.

I am mostly metal guy. I listen mostly heavy, power, industrial and death metal. I also like tribal music, mostly because of rhythm. In general, genre for me is not important as a harmony between rhythm, music and lyrics in the song. I definitely hate most of the pop-music, because it is crap, though.

Obviously, I do like listening to music. In fact, I haven’t met any person that would find it needless. Music affects my mood quite greatly, allows me to focus more, relax and sometimes experience true Catharsis depending on the genre. Regarding genre I’m open to all types and like to discover new ones too. My favourites so far are House/Deep House, Adult Contemporary and Alternative Rock. I have tried to learn to play guitar and piano. Right now, because of lack of time my experience level on both is solid beginner. However, in the near future I will focus more on playing piano.
I love listening to music it actually helps me concentrate and get my thoughts together. Obviously there are artists that I like better than others but I do like to play some random playlist on Spotify and see how it fits into my life :D I used to play piano I still do from time to time and that’s why I have a huge sentiment to classical music.

I don't understand why some classical music (Mozart, for example) has a huge impact on people and we should listen to it while studying or something like this. Everyone has musical preferences. Some people like jazz, some don't. Some like rap or metal, but other don't like it. The situation is the same with classical music. Even if it's classical, it doesn't have to be liked and listened to by all people. Personally, I don't hate classical music, but, for instance, it drives me crazy if I listen to it and studying at the same time, I can't concentrate on both.
But I totally agree with the part of your post where you write about exercises. Music helps a lot.
Yes, I tried to play the drum. It was green and nice. And I was 5 or so. In the end, my mom took the drum away, then she realized I wouldn't be a great musician.

I love listening to music and can't imagine my life without it. When I was 5 I was listening to my parents' Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication album. My grandma told be that I was barely talking but when I heard "Długość dźwięku samotności" I run to the radio and started "singing". If I like a song I have to know the lyrics. Always. And of course music has a positive effect on me. It can make even the worst day better.

I like rock music, (animated) movie soundtracks and I love Irish traditional music. The last one can brighten up even the saddest day. Once I was in Ireland in a true old Irish pub and there were a "band" of 4 elderly people playing and singing Irish songs. I entered the pub, heard the music and started crying immediately. It has always been my dream (since I was 8) and the fact it came true... I just couldn't believe it. It was definitely an unforgettable experience.

I tried to play the guitar, but I didn't like it. I've always wanted to play the piano, but didn't have the opportunity to learn. I strongly regret it. Instead of playing an instrument I sing.

As always, it depends on the situation but most of the time I like listening to music. I makes me calmer and it's usually easier to focus.
I don't really have favourite genre - it depends on my mood. Most of the time it's the pop you can hear on every radio, but I also like rap, rock or some alternative music. Sometimes I even listen to polish "feast songs" but I need to use headphones for that.
Besides flute I learnt to play on when I was a child, I tried to learn playing on the guitar and piano, but I tremendously failed. I've also tried to play something on my brother's ocarina but it turned out to be too complicated for me.

I really enjoyed reading your article.

I’m a big music fan and I always like learning new things connected with music.

Listening to music is not only my hobby, it’s a way of life. I strongly believe that music can affect every aspect of our nature. Of course, an impact can be always either good and bad, but in the case of music I guess the positive effects exceed the negative ones.
It would be extremely difficult to choose one music genre to be my favourite. I really enjoy rock, metal and pop, as well as hip hop, r’n’b and even classical music. In fact, I can hardly find any kind of music I dislike. When I was a kid, my mother made me learn to play the piano. I didn’t like it at all, but I have decided to try the drums recently, to the despair of my neighbors :)

I love listening to music. My favourite genre is hip-hop. However, I'm not closed on other types. It really depends on my mood. Sometimes I listen to jazz, deep house, instrumentals, rock. I think only genre I won't ever listen is metal. Does listening to music have positive effects on me? I think so, it makes me calmer and brings a smile on my face.
I would really like to learn to play on piano. Unfortunately, at this moment I don't have enough time for that.

1. Sure I do, I'm doing it right now. I find it has huge impact on my mood.

2. Probably indie rock, but I'll listen to anything I consider good enough.

3. I tried to learn to play guitar as a teenager, but all that came of it was my prowess in guitar hero games :)
I wrote a longer comment on this topic last week, not much has changed since :)

Definitely YES, I love listeting music and even sometimes classic music, for example Mozart(as it was mentioned in the article), Vivaldi,Chopin(the best one) etc. When it comes to classic music, in fact, it affects me bringing wonderful mood and sense of the beauty of people's mind. When I was a child, I wanted to attend the music school in my town, but my parents rejected this idea and now it's too pity for me. Give your children a chance to play music!

I like listening to music. It kills time while I drive to school. It is also nice time to relax myself. I think it has a nice and positive effects on me. My favorite music genre is rock and pop. Before high school I was learning to play the flute. The exercises was in school and were guided by musician. I didn't have any certain experiences. It was just like math or PE. I was made to learn this instrument since second class.

Sure thing I like listening to music, although positive effects depend on type or genre I am listening to. For instance, some grey, quiet and sad music during a dark and snowy Sunday makes me sleepy and lazy, however, happy music with good vibes makes me feel more confident and productive. I wouldn't say I have a favorite music genre, basically I can listen to anything what suits my current mood. I tried playing harmonica once, but it was just for fun and I didn't make any plans about this one.

I don't have favorite genre. Mostly I listen to music depending on my currently mood. When I want to be more concentraited I like listening to calm music, when I have a bad mood I like music which bring to me memories. I used to learn playing piano for couple of years. Now, I am afraid I wouldn't play any track.

During day time, depending on my mood i like death metal, downtempo, trance, ambient but when night hits, i always listen to space ambient to enhance my bedtime. I was learning how to play guitar but for very short time. When i was in middle school and high school i used to create some electronic music via FL Studio. I wasn't good at it so i abadoned it, however i feel like i could hop back to it just to have fun.

I love listening to music, I can't imagine living without it. It has a lot of positive effects on me, makes me feel better. Usually im listening to RAP. I tried to play on guitar but it was hard for me. I also tried to play on keyboard and that was better choice.

1. I love listening to the music. It has only positive effects on me. I travel in business a lot and my favorite music listened during my trips give me optimism and power, help me to go through long-lasting dull driving.
2. My lately discovered music genre is old-fashioned “Italo-disco” as very positively acting on everybody. I also like French and Italian hip-hop. I feel younger listening to it, and it helps me to train foreign languages.
3. I have never tried to learn playing any instrument, because I am not musically talented. But my kids do, my 10-years old son has been playing the piano since he was 5, his 6-years old sisters have been learning this for 2 years. They love music lessons, they always wait for them. Playing the piano seems to be their way to deal with emotions, taking problems more easy, bringing more calmness to their lives.

I really can`t imagine myself without listening the music. I can listen absolutely any kind of music that I enjoyed once. I have not favourite music genre but I guess that I choose to that one that will help me. I think that music helps me more than distracts, because I have already used to it and it helps me to concentrate on what I should do
I have once tried to learn how to play on the piano but it was too hard for me to deal with.

Of course I listen to music. It's very important in my life. I finished Jazz Music School. I've play the drums for 13 years but I must learn other instruments. Today I have two bands. I record CDs and play concerts. I'm a musician and I listen to all types of music. I must learn a lot of kinds of music. I think that real musicians aren't valued. Muscian's life is not fair because you spend 50 000 zl you travel 500km to play a concert you learn most of your life how to play and you earn 50 zl.

I listen to music during most of my spare time, but not only. I often listen to music when I'm learning, because it helps me with my concentration and also makes me much less tense.
I listen to many music genres, but my favourite one is classical. I don't listen to it constantly, but I always enjoy it the most. Sometimes it's really calm, relaxing and sometimes it's really stimulating as it comes to terms of learning or getting some work done.
I was playing the guitar for a couple of years, but now I don't have any time for it anymore. I'm also a bit tired of it, but I guess that someday I'll start playing on this or some other instrument again.
Marcin Mróz said…
Wow, that's a lot of instruments! I play guitar, but I tried also playing keyboard when I was a kid and drums. I regret a bit abandoning keyboard, because now I'd really love to know how to play piano which is very similar. In case of drums, I've never took any lessons, just tried something on my own, but it didn't give any effects, so I decided to give up.
Marcin Mróz said…
Yes, I have the same situation. When I have to really concentrate on something, music usually distracts me. I like to listen to music while doing stuff that comes out automatically, then it really helps to get everything done.
Oh man, why did you stop? :D I don't think that it requires that much time, especially, if you already have some basics and know how to play. I also don't have that much time to play guitar as I had when I was in primary school, but I'd never decide to stop playing it at all. I think it's really fun and I'm trying to find some time to play everyday, at least 15 minutes. ;)

I love listening to the music, it has a lot of good positives on me. I think I'm more productively thanks for music.
Usually, I'm listening RAP but it depends on my mood. Sometimes, I like to turn on some rock songs.
Yes, I had some guitar lessons as a teenager. It was very hard for me and that's why I stopped it. Now, I'm having a lot of duties but I will come back to it! I promise! :)
I like listening to music. It always cheers me up, when I am sad. I do not feel that I have a specific genre that is my favorite of all, but if I take a look on my colection, the most often are pop/rock kind of songs, that I listen to. I tried to learn to play on keyboard, but I have really bad musical hearing so it is hard for me to learn. Maybe in the future I will come back to it.
Marcin Mróz said…
Wow, that's impressive. Drummers are really in demand, because there are few of them, but I agree that life of musician is very hard. Due to this fact being a musician is becoming rather hobby than real profession, which is really sad.

Classical music is really underrated nowadays, which is sad. It is really beautiful music that can give wide range of emotions. I don't listen to it on daily basis and maybe it's not my favourite genre, but I enjoy to listen to it from time to time.

I like listening to music as everybody else and yes I think feeling good is one the main reasons for me listening to music. There are number of situations when I listen to music e.g.: just to feel better, calm down, fall asleep etc. Currently, my favorite music genre is Chillout music.
When I was in primary school I have been playing in school mandolin orchestra for three years. I didn’t like it most of the time back then to be honest as our music teacher was very demanding and we had to know all the pieces by heart. It required from me a lot of practicing and memorizing every single day but now, after years, I am convinced that it had a great impact of my learning process and helped me to obtain better results in my further life.
Obviously, I like listening to music every day. Definitely, it has good impact on me, sometimes music helps me to get through hard days. There are a lot of good memories connected with certain songs and music festivals .
Usually, I prefer to listen techno, soul or rap, but in most cases , it depends on the mood or comapany.
I have tried to learn to play the guitar, but now I don't have a passion for it. Maybe, in one day, I will succeed in it.

I think there aren't people in the world who do not like music. Music influences our life and creates a mood. You can listen to music while you work. All, of course, depends on the music. It can set you up to work hard and can get you treated. It could be the neighbor's vile music behind the wall, early Sunday morning. And then you want to get up and go kill because you can not sleep anymore. So, I think music has read our life and we can not escape from it.
It's hard to say which music I like. Probably all. Except for turnips. I even do not know why. And also techno. It pulls my brain and just makes me close my ears.
My experience playing the musical instruments ended sadly. I played half an hour on the guitar and everyone who sat around realized that I was hopeless. I think that creating music requires talent. Magic abilities or something like that.

I really like to listen to music and I can agree that it has a lot of influence on us - mostly positive effect. We listen music for fun with friends, we listen music when we are sad and want to forget about a problems, we listen music when we want to focus and then it can help us to be more productive.

I don't have one particular type of music which I like. Of course I can say that I like blues, rock, alternative rock but I listen also pop or classical music. I think that in my case it depends on time or my frame of mind.

I play on the piano sometimes but now I don't have much time for it. I promised myself that when I will finish my studies I will back to playing on the piano. I have also tried a harmonica which is also very exciting instrument. I can play some songs on it but I can say that I am only an amateur.

No, I don't have a favourite type of music. It depends on a day, activity, mood or weather. Mostly it is pop, house, trance and a little bit of rock music.
I tried to go to music school when I was in primary school, but they said that I am not the best candidate :D

I really enjoy listening to music, I do it most of the time during the day because it helps me focus or relax depending on my needs, that is why I don't have my favourite music genre. When I need to focus I like to listen to peaceful electronic music, when I need to calm down I enjoy listening to classical music or when I drive I mostly listen to rock or rap music. Finally, I have been playing the guitar since 6th grade at primary school and right now I reserve rehearsal studio from time to time to play together with my friends. We call our band UfoPorno :)
Music is the primary thing I'm doing all the time, like, while travelling each day, while programming, while surfing the internet, even right now there is something being played. It helps me a lot to concentrate, which is quite weird since most of the people that don't listen to music actively would think that it actually should distract rather than concentrate - nothing like that, I'm the most productive when I'm in fact working on something with music together, doesn't matter what that is.

When I was young I participated in a course of playing keyboard - I practiced it for like 5 years I guess? I didn't learnt a lot due to my age and rather medium interest, but I did learn over a hundred songs if I remember right.
Do you like listening to music? Do you think it has some positive effects on you?

Of course. I am listening to different kind of music when I am trying to learn or focus on my job - it is usually instrumental music or waterfall noise not to distract me. When I'm driving the music is usually hard (Metallica, Ramstein) to keep me focus and gives me a small adrenaline rush. When I need to relax a good classical music or opera - La Traviata - Libiamo :)

Do you have your favorite music genre?
As written above.

Have you ever tried to learn to play any musical instrument? If yes, what were your experiences?
I tried piano but currently I don't remember anything of it (tried few years ago).

Yep, music is a powerful, magic thing. I like listening to it. Whether it's strictly instrumental like classical, lyrical like hip hop or empowering like rock. And depending on which is it, it has different effects. Instrumental helps me concentrate, focus or relax. I've listened to hip hop quite much as a kid, the kind of that actually addressed life problems and made me think (not nowadays hiphopolo), and if I need to make house chores I turn on rocking type. I don't have my favorite genre, I like music if it resonates with me, offering something, be it calmness, power or meaning.
I've started playing piano as a kid, had an episode with grandpa's accordion haha. Never really got good at it, discontinued it, went back, I some play from time to time, I'm still bad but if I get one song right I love playing it.
I love listening to music. If I do not play anything in the room, I feel irritated. I do not have a favorite kind of music, but I often listen to electronic music or pop music. When I was little, I tried to learn how to play the guitar, unfortunately it did not bring much results and I gave up after a few lessons. Maybe in the future I will return to some instrument, but now I do not have time for it.
Music does far more than we realize. Not only is it often extremely important to many cultures around the world, but it is also (along with language and religion) one of the only cultural structures that are found in every society on earth. We are indeed hardwired to respond to music. It can change our heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, and brain chemistry. It can engage our fight to flight response, and we feel it embodied when we are compelled to tap our feet and dance.

I like listen to music very much. It helps me in my training in a gym. Also on my work, where we have open space office design, music helps me to concetrate on my work and do not notice anything that could distruct me. I think that music is very important in people lives and world without music would be different in a bad way.
Sure I love to listen to some good music, but there are moments that I prefer to spend in silence, simply because when I listen to something I like to focus on it. I prefer music, mostly rock, from the 60's but I can also enjoy classical, jazz or good old Bob Marley. I don't want to offend anyone, but most of the modern pieces sound like crap to me and make me feel sick so I try to avoid them as much as I can. When it comes to instruments I had a few tries with guitar, but the progress I was making was too slow for my liking so unfortunately I quickly resigned, but hopefully one day I will find some motivation and learn how to play it.
Of course I like listening to music, I think that the vast majority of people likes it. I think that music might have some benign positive effects on me, depending of course what I’m listening.
I don’t have one favorite music genre, if I like a song I like it, if I don’t I don’t, no matter the genre.
I have learned how to play a guitar, and I hated it SOOOOO much. It was just dumb attempt by my parents to make me happy against my will.

I LOVE music. It’s part of my life. I’m listening to music almost all day. Of course it has positive effects on me. My favourite genres are metal and rap. You know, we’re 90’s kids, and those years are the golden era of nu-metal and it’s like metal with rap combination :D. For example: Limp Bizkit.
My favourite bands are KoRn, Gojira and Slipknot.
When I saw Korn video for the first time, I was like: „How is this THAT heavy?!”. I mean guitar riffs of course. Then I started to play guitar and now after all these years I’m rocking it on Munky’s signature 7 string guitar. It’s awesome!

I have always loved music. Any rock 'n' roll, classic music, , a little jazz and blues. There are many songs that actually bring me to the point of tears. It's kind of hard to explain because it's not because the music is sad or happy (it can be either). Like everyone else I have my favorites and it is these songs that, to try to put it into words, seem to fill me up. Music really helps the brain, especially when it comes to learning things in school that some students have trouble with. It can really help them concentrate and focus so they can learn it easier. Learning music is also great because it actually increases your memory and can improve other skills in school. Thank you for making this I really enjoyed reading it.

I love music, basically I listen music all the time.
It's usually polish rap or pop. Sometimes also disco-polo.
When I learn something new, I prefer silence, but when I do something easy for me I usually listen to music.
My favourite music genre is rap. Especially polish rap for example OSTR, Pokahontaz, Kękę, Joka, Quebonafide and many others.
I have a music lessons in primary school like everyone but I wasn't very good at it. We played the cymbals and flute. Honestly it was more fun than real learning.

By say I mean write. "Say" is more fitting in this context though. Why? If talking is a sound it can be interpreted as a music. See what I did there?

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and natura...

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds...
