[Week 11] Good bad movies

You might find this weird, but I often enjoy watching a bad movie. I'm sure I'm not the only one that is like this. However, if somebody enjoys a movie, can you still call it bad?
In my opinion the main goal of a movie is to entertain. I understand entertaining in many different ways - being entertained is not necessarily laughing, especially in the case of movies and books I think of entertainment as enriching the viewer (or reader) somehow, presenting him something he likes and wants to see, that somehow has an impact on him. However in this case I will be mainly talking about entertaining as making one laugh.

So why would I want to watch a bad movie? And enjoy it? Well I think it's funny. When I watch a movie that tries being serious but instead ends up silly or stupid I will laugh at it. And you know what? I feel entertained. So what if the idea was different, so what if somebody did a terrible job? As long as I am satisfied, one way or another, I believe it was worth watching.

The first movie that comes to my mind is Beware: Children at Play. This move had  very low rating due to many reasons. The storyline is ridiculous, special effects are terrible, the acting is awful.. and it's supposed to be a horror movie. But, I remember watching this with a friend and we both were laughing our heads off over this movie and when it ended we watched again our favorite scenes. It was a very pleasant experience.

I remember when Sin City and later Spirit came out I watched both of those movies with my friends. The first one I considered average, good but not brilliant, while my friends thought it was great. The second one however made me laugh a lot (and I believe it was supposed to be funny) and I enjoyed it much more than Sin City, while my friends were disappointed, since they expected the movies to be similar.

Obviously there are other genres of films than comedy that I enjoy a lot. Actually most of my favorite movies are rather serious. But I believe that there are some movies that are meant to be bad or ridiculous and precisely that fact makes them enjoyable to watch.
Again, I'd like for you to answer these questions, but please comment the way you like:
1.       Do you agree that watching a bad movie can be enjoyable?

2.       Are there any bad movies you enjoyed?

Comments

Yes, I agree with you, but only "sometimes". I'm unlucky to bad movies. Mostly I choose boring movie, very very boring, but when I start watching it I have to see to the end. And I fight with this film for 2-3 hours, because boring movie is long movie. Funny bad movies should have some action and some story, directing is a detail :) Probably the most fun are the low-budget horror for me. Unfortunately, I can't recall any title.
I also have this "problem" that once I start a movie, I must push through to the end. Sometimes it's a burden!

I also can agree with you, but only in some ways. I can laugh my head out when the special effects are terrible. Same when the plot is really bad. But when the scenario in all is insufficent, I turn off the movie (wich is rarely). I hate, when somebody makes a terrible scenario. I mean, I can forgive bad dialogues, or terrible actors job, or even worse special effects. But it has to have some kind of a whole, a story, even the most ridiculous one. It's just... it has to be telled in a good way. That's the only thing I ask. otherwise: bye bye movie, I hate you forever

1. Do you agree that watching a bad movie can be enjoyable?
I totaly agree with your opinion. Watching bad movie can be very enjoyable. Specially when the movie is rediculous. The more rediculous the movie the more fun we have from watching it. This is excatly as you said. But there is another kind of bad movies which simple irritate rather than make it enjoyable to watch. You can proabobly say which type of movie it is after watching it first few minutes.
2. Are there any bad movies you enjoyed?
I do not remember any title right now, but I remember few scenes that made me laugh. It was some horror movie which was so rediculous that it could not even scare a few years baby. I think this was one of those movies which simple suppose to be so bad, that we would watch it in laugh.

Can bad movie be enjoyable? Depend what people understand of „bad”. Is it bad because of the actors’ play or the technical arrangement or because of the impression it lefts on the audience? There are lots of movies that won many awards that I wouldn’t describe as “good”. For me the most important is the feeling of the viewer, then the artistic addition. But a good movie has the got at least one of those two made in a perfect way. Despite of that, I believe a common description of a “bad” movie is attached to those whose script is really simple, like American Pie or Scary Movie. In reality, there’s no description to what is good and what is bad.
I hear you. A bad scenario really ruins everything, although I think that for me the most important part are dialogues and general the creation of characters and how the actors acted them out.
I see we have the same opinion about this subject!
That's really true what you said, that the most important thing is how the viewer feels about a movie. I completely agree with that.
I think that the whole „bad movies ” are brilliant to watching them with friends. Mostly of them have absurd story, and everybody are starting to laugh when the scene are scary or grievous. The good example are a low-cost horrors and comedies (it fits well in these categories the “Scary movie”, where story is like an addition and massacre scenes rather amusing us than scaring). About films like “Sin City”, their story are strongly mixed and we must move our brain to combine it in our head and understand (like in “Pulp Fiction”).

Unfortunately, no ;(. I quickly get bored and irritated when I'm looking weak movies.

Are there any bad movies you enjoyed?
I have never found a 'good' weak film :(. I always watch ten minutes and then I turn off.

Eurotrip is an example of a poor comedy movie that rocks poor scores on almost all websites, but I don't know a single person who doesn't love it. Stupid comedy movies match this description in general, and I love many of them ;-)

I agree that some bad movies can be entertaining. However I agree with Dalvia that scenario have to be fine. Other way I won’t involve in the movie and stop watching it. To me ridicules dialogues or special effects make movie funny.

Of course, bad movies sometimes make us laugh, scared and can make us feel another emotion, so yes, it can be anjoyable, but i definetely [refer watching good movies ;)
I understand your point, no need to post it twice! :D
Yeah, exactly, Eurotrip was great! I don't care about the scores it got. :D
Perfectly understandable. In the end it's better to spend time watching a good movie.
Oh, that's too bad. I guess that "bad" movies are to be "enjoyed" in company.
Actually I think Pulp fiction was far better than Sin City and wouldn't compare them. I am not saying Sin City was bad, but I just don't see why people think it was that good.

I lasted only 30 minutes and then gave up. I prefer movies with better storyline and special effects.
I think that Sin City was a brilliant film. Personally, I prefer the Marvel movies.
Lately I watched a couple of very bad films for example. Werewolf, "Under the strong angel" (Polish movie). The last one was very sad and left a disgusted. Instead of hard films I recommended "The guardians of the galaxy"

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr
