Today one of the most interesting topics presented and discussed by the media is immigration to Europe. This topic should be relevant to each and every citizen of the European Union, because migration of people from outside of Europe is increasing every year. Currently one of the biggest migration problems is migration from Syria. Below you can see how many people migrating from Syria to Europe were detected on borders of different countries. As you can see the total number of detections has increased dramatically since 2014 from 7,431 to 56,766 and it will be higher probably in the next year. Below you can see how immigrants will be distributed in European countries according to Jean-Claude Junker, current European Commission President. Junker’s distribution quotas are based on wealth of destination countries. Currently Europe is facing many problems and one of the most important of them concerns ethnic Muslim minorities in Europe. As you may know, Muslims usually don't want to assimilate with the local society, they prefer to create separated from the society communities. Have you ever thought about the meaning of color? Color has had its meaning for  a long time. Every color matches  a concrete behavior, thing or situation. A color’s characteristic is very important in design. Colors influence our comfort, mood and behavior. Colors provoke behavior like buying, eating, etc. Why is soup on a red plate more tasty than on a green plate? Why is green in our opinion healthy, red- spicy, blue- peaceful? Each of us has a favorite color or range of colors, but we don’t think about the meaning of them. What is your favorite color/ range of colors? Why? Bright and warm colors have friendly and active characteristics. We see them in the first place- they are eye-catching. They can add energy and bravery. Two months ago went to the theater to see a performance written by Peter Quilter which is called Divine. This show told the story of Florence Foster Jenkins who was the most popular… untalented opera singer. She was born on July 19th, 1868 and she was the daughter of an influential banker. Despite the total lack of vocal, musical talent and not very attractive features she dreamt about soprano singing. Florence loved music and she wanted to be a star. At 17 years old she had the first attempt performance before an audience. Her good intentions and a huge desire to be a diva were not enough. She has become a laughing-stock of million people. Despite the fact that her father categorically discouraged an opera singer career, she was stubborn and she did not listen to advice. Shortly after the death of her father she launched her first gigs which were entirely funded by property inherited from her rich father. The performances of Florence Foster enjoyed great popularity. WRO Media Art Biennale is the most important event in the new media world in Poland and one of the most important ones in Central Europe. It was organized for the first time in 1989.  It doesn’t show the art in the traditional way. It shows the art which is digital, modern etc. The event consists of exhibitions, film screenings, performances, lectures.  It was founded Viola and Piotr Krajewscy. It changes but still concentrates on the new media art. This year I have participated in this event for the first time. I recommend it as it presents, new technologies, original solutions, great music, great people, great places.
