Week 6 [30.11 - 6.12] Importance of drinking water

This TED-Ed video shows us the importance of drinking water and warns about drinking too much or not enough.

1.       Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?

2.       What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?

Comments

I used to be able not to drink anything for the whole day… I have never been a fan of coffee, sweet drinks or anything like that. I also feel thirsty very rarely. My organism just forgets that it needs water so I just wasn’t drinking anything cause I didn’t feel like I needed to. I remember that sometimes it was almost midnight and I could realize that I hadn't drank anything for the whole day. Luckily, those times have passed and when I started getting interested in my own health I taught myself how to drink water. Nowadays I try to drink at least 1 liter of water everyday. When I am at home and have time to pee every 20 minutes, I try with even 2 or 3 liters. I am not sure if I feel better in any way but my skin is definitely in much better condition as it is just naturally moisturized.

I don’t feel like I am the right person to answer the second question. Right now I drink a lot but it is only because I sit at home and have nothing better to do so I drink water whenever I go to the kitchen. Nevertheless, when it comes to normal days when we were actually going to the University, I wasn’t drinking anything for the whole day. I also did not bring any water with me as I hate carrying things with me. So I actually do not know any best ways to stay hydrated that would work with me except for sitting at home like we do right now and drinking everytime you go to the kitchen.

I am 99% sure I drink enough water almost every day. And I'm not even counting other liquids than water, or other substances containing water. Some may say I drink too much water each day, but I don't think that's true.
For me, the key is having water handy at all times. I drink my water from the tap, having it first filtered by a regular, plastic jug with an activated carbon filter in it. I think that's enough to keep my water clean. It's good to make drinking water a habit. After some time you don't even think about keeping yourself hydrated, it becomes a natural thing to do. Moreover, having a glass cup on the desk constantly filled with water makes it even easier to forget about the goal of drinking enough water each day. I just grab the cup and drink whenever I look away from the screen. When travelling or commuting, a .7 litre bottle of water is perfect for me.
On top of that, I drink either a half litre cup of tea, or a cup of coffee, so I am pretty sure I don't have to worry about staying hydrated.

1. Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?

Yes, I drink at least 2 liters of water every day. It's a lot, but somehow I have no problems with it. If I do not drink this amount of water, I will feel 100% bad - first of all, my head starts to ache. In summer, I drink at least 3 liters of water a day, for me it's simple. I have to say that water is great - it weakens the feeling of hunger, makes your body work better, your skin becomes firmer, your liver works better. Additionally, unlike carbonated drinks, you don't want to drink water - it weakens your thirst.

2.What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?

I never really thought about it. I always put a glass of water on my desk and make sure that it is full all the time. As I mentioned above, if I don't drink a certain amount of water, unfortunately I feel bad. It reminds me to stay hydrated.

Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?
Yes, I try to drink enough water almost every day. It can be about 1,5 litres per day. Of course, in summer I drink more than now. I started thinking about water balance a few years ago. Before I had drunk a lot of tea and coffee instead of the clean water, and it was not so easy to change everyday practices. But now it is easy for me to keep my water balance. It became my habit. Besides, I have noticed, that a lack of water in the body leads to headaches.

What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?
I know that someone not to forget drinking water use 1-2 litres bottles. You can fill it every morning and then just drink during the day. Another tip is to drink some water after coffee because coffee removes fluid from the body. Also, it is important to calculate your daily water intake. Eventually, drinking water will become a habit.
1. Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?

Since the pandemic has started, I think that finally, I've started to think enough water. It's much easier now because I don't have to carry with me a bottle of water, which might be pretty heavy when added to notebooks and all equipment I used to take with me to school or generally outside. I often forgot about that, and sometimes I drank only 1 liter per day. Now I have the access to water anytime I want. I just have to get up and pour it into my cup. So it's without a doubt the advantage of sitting at gome.

2. What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?

I'm not sure. These days I'm trying to drink some water whenever I'm hungry, so I won't eat that much, and stay hydrated at the same time. Maybe it would be a nice idea to set some alarms throughout the day, to remind us about drinking. Or maybe it would be nice to have ann app that would remind us about doing it.

I think it depends on the season. I tend to drink much more water in summer, when I'm more often thirsty and I tend ot forget about hydration during winter. I know that it's wrong because dehydration also occurs in winter time. I'm trying to reach about 2l per day of water, if I'm doing a sport then more.

2.
Probably caring a water bottle everywhere you go and keeping it always close helps a lot. Also keeping a glass of water near bed so you can drink just after you wake up.

I guess I do. I always have a big bottle of water by my side and I think it is a great habit that helps me not to forget about hydration. Seldom, when I'm not keen on drinking normal water I go to the shop for something extra like sparkling water, juice or something similar.

1. Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?
It depends on day but more often i drink enough water every day. When i am sitting in front of PC i have always bottle of water next to me and i drink it from time to time. I have also bottle of water next to my bed. If i will woke up at night or at morning i can drink it. That's also great advice if you drink alcohol because if you will stay hydrated you won't have hangover. :)

2. What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?
Hmm in my opinion it is hard to forget that you are thirsty. Anyway if you think you don't drink enough water and you want to change it maybe try to have always bottle of water next to you. Second idea is that you can set reminder every hour and when it rings you will drink glass of water every single time.
1. Yes, I personally consume about three liters of drinks a day, including about 1.5 liters of water and the rest in the form of teas, coffee and juices. Even recently, I began to wonder if I drink too much and I have taken preventive blood tests, if is everything ok with my body.

2. Once I heard of an electric bottle that reminds you from time to time to drink the right amount of fluids. However, if we talk seriously, it seems to me that the consumption of drinks is determined by our needs. If we want to drink - we drink, if not - then not. If someone's body is getting dehydrated then he should see his doctor.
Answering your questions:

1. Yes, I drink about 2.5 - 3 liters of water a day. Mainly in tea and drinks, especially coca cola zero.

2. I do not use any means to keep my body hydrated throughout the day. I have a set drinking regimen throughout the day and I stick to it.
1. Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?
I think I drink enough water. Sometimes I prefer to drink a little more than I need, but I'm not exaggerating. Because, as in the video above is said, drinking too much water is also very unhealthy. I even heard about the story of the death of a man who overdid the amount of water he drank. Everything should be done in moderation.

2. What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?
I don't know if this can be considered a way, but I will suggest avoiding physical activities in which we sweat strongly. This is also a bad solution because it is worth doing sports, but you can save a lot of water in the body. Besides, I heard that instead of water it is better to drink other fluids because they stay in the body longer. Recently, I found out that an interesting solution is to drink water with salt, because then we draw valuable minerals and the water does not flow through our body so quickly. I think there are many solutions and to find them, just launch a search engine on the Internet.

It is amazing that you noticed that you’re not drinking enough water and decided to fix it. Good job with that and also when I don’t drink enough I also notice that my skin is less moisturized than usual.

@Adrian Kamiński
We should remember to drink more while exercising and sweating a lot. And of course drinking enough water means drinking not too little and not too much.
1. Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?

I'm trying to drink two and a half litres to three litres of water per day. Of course not everyday I'm reaching the lower limit, there are some days when I'm drinking less. It also depends on my activities, for example when I am working out I drink more water than when I'm sitting in front of the computer or laying on the couch. Considering positive impact of drinking water, I think I can still increase the amount of drinking water to stay health and to keep my mind in form, because working as a programmer requires a lot of thinking.

2. What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?

The best way will be keeping a bottle of water with you whole day, because then you'll be able to drink whenever you want. I always have a bottle of water with me when I'm outside of my house. I also keep water next to my bed, so even during the night I am still able to drink. Throughout the day I am trying to drink a glass of water every time I get up from my desk. There are also applications that help you to monitor number of glasses or amount of water that you drink during the day.

1. Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?
I should definitely drink more water. I drink a lot of tea during the day and I tried to switch to water multiple times but it just doesn't work for me. I try to keep balance between those two but I don't like the tap water and maintaining the bottled water supply can be annoying in a long term so I mostly just drink tea.

2. What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?
Maybe an app that reminds you to drink a cup of water every hour or so? It would go well with a smartwatch. I think the most important part is to build a habit and then it should be easy to stay on the track.
1. Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?
I think yes, I drink enough liquid a day. I love tea with milk. I can drink it all day. I don't really like water only if it is very cold. I do not have any kind of installation or rules to drink a certain amount of water a day, I drink when I feel like it.

2. What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?
I don't know to be honest. Probably depends on the body and on the nutrition of the person. I know there are applications that remind you to drink water, but I don't know if it helped anyone. I somehow installed such an application but for weight loss. In general, the supplement helped control the diet in general and was like drinking more water.

The very pleasant material from TED summed up neatly what I've known for many years. I never analyze it that thoroughly on a daily basis, but I've always drunk a lot of water. Pure water is my favorite drink. I start my day with a glass of water and end it with it too. I also regularly provide my body with fluids during the day. I never count exactly how many liters I drink, but I'm within the normal range for sure.

My advice to always remember to drink the right amount of fluids is simple - always have something to drink next to you. When I leave the house, I try to have a water bottle with my bag. Before the pandemic, I always filled it up regularly at school or work. Now, when I spend most of the day at home, I take a coffee or tea break from time to time, but I also have a jug of water nearby.
1.Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?
Unfortunately, I don't drink enough water, because I just forget about it. However, recently I have been really trying to drink more water, because I have noticed that in some way it has a positive effect on my body and my mood. First of all, I try to give up juices or sparkling drinks by changing them into drinking water.

2.What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?

I think the best way to be hydrated through the day is to drink water gradually e.g. we can make a routine to drink a certain amount of water at a given time of the day by setting an alarm clock to remind us of it. Alternatively, we can always try to eat more vegetables or fruits, which also consist of a large amount of water. Above all, the most important thing is to remember to drink large amounts of water during hot weather, even if you do not want to drink it at all.
1.       Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?

I definitely do not drink enough water. There may pass even a few days while I forget to drink it. I remember that I’ve always had problem with this. Since I was a kid I have heard or I was taught how important it is to drink at least 2 liters of water per day, but it still didn’t help at all. Of course it doesn’t mean that I drink nothing. I usually drink a lot of tea, sometimes three big cups a day. Every time I catch myself forgetting about drinking water I promise myself to change it and start to drink it every day. Even my boyfriend noticed that I drink water rarely, thus he tries to remind me about it.

2.       What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?

Last year I decided to buy a bottle with filter so I could drink any time I needed it and of course to be more eco. Since I got it I have noticed that I’ve been drinking more water. Unfortunately, I have lost it and still haven’t bought the other one thus my problems have come back. I should buy another one but now I just try to always have a glass of water in my room. I also found out that if the water is with lemon or mint I drink it more gladly.

1. Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?

Yes, I do. I do a lot of sports and drink a lot of water during exercise. Thanks to this, I got into the habit of drinking water at regular intervals.

2.What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?

It is difficult for me to comment on this because I have never had a problem with it. I know that there are many different applications that remind you to drink water in a very pleasant way. In addition, I recommend starting to practice some sport, which should arouse the need to drink more water.

1. Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?

Unfortunately, I sure that I do not drink enough water, as much as I heard numerous times about the benefits of drinking water. I always found myself passing a day or two without drinking even a glass of water. Having to know that I need to drink 8 glasses a day is something else, but thanks to God some foods help us to compensate for the water our body needs otherwise people like me would have serious health problems. I do try to drink more and more, but I will say that I'm not happy with my progress so far. I need to find a plan and stick to it.

2. What are the best ways to stay hydrated throughout the day and not forgetting about drinking water?

I am the last person who can advise on this matter, but after googling some plans. I will try this one. I can recommend this one to you.

-When You Wake Up, Consume One to Two Cups of Water.
-Consume a Glass of Water Before a Meal.
-Have a Glass of Water to Help Wash Down a Meal.
-Rather Than Reaching for Coffee to Cure a Midafternoon Slump, Drink Water.
-Drink H20 When You Have a Headache.
-Hydrate Smartly Before, During, and After Exercise.
-Have a Sip or Two of Water Before Bedtime.

1. Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?

I try to drink enough water each day, but I don't always get it. During spring and summer, I remember to drink water regularly. On the other hand, in the pandemic era, when I spend a lot of time at home and in front of the computer, somehow I forget about regular hydration, which is sometimes accompanied by headaches. I try to drink water all the time to feel better.

2. What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?

Remember that we do not have to take standard water in order to be properly hydrated. One of the fantastic and tasty solutions can be smoothies. We especially choose fruits such as strawberries, peaches, cucumbers, spinach and blueberries. These are excellent options.
1. Do you drink enough water every day? If not, are you trying to drink more?
Yes, he drinks a lot of water during the day. It improves my mood and is essential for the proper functioning of the body. If I drink too little water during the day, I feel bad, so I try to drink at least 1.5l of water a day. Water is the drink that I drink most often.

2. What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?

This is quite a difficult question, I think everyone has their own proven way. I recommend setting up an alarm clock with a reminder to drink water, it really works

I keep a lot of water bottles in my room, so I one of them always stays on my desk. Every few minutes I take a sip or few, and I think that's more than enough. When I was working out, I was drinking even too much water, so it's always best not to overdo anything, even something so basic like drinking water.
Drinking a lot of water makes your urine look very clear, and that's not always best thing.
It may also mean, your body has no toxins to get rid off, so the excessive amount of water that goes through, can do more bad than good.

2. What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?
As I mentioned before, keeping water close to your desk is the best way to not forget it. Of course, you have to make it a habit, taking the bottle every few minutes and hydrating yourself. If you have your head in the clouds constantly, you should download some app that sets alarm off and reminds you to drink some more.

I think, i drink enough water every day, at least im trying, i know how important is water for our mind and body. I love Yerba, it tastes very well and it is very healthy, it makes me pleasure to drink yerba, so there is no problem for me to drink 4-5 glasses of yerba everyday. I do my best to stay hydrated.

What are the best ways to stay hydrated through the day and not forgetting about drinking water?
If you don't like water try something else, maybe tea or yerba. It is very important to find something what will be tasty for you. Another tip is to have something to drink close to you. You can also set up an alarm clock, i've noticed that there are some mobile apps which remind you about drinking water. There are so many solutions.

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and naturally.
