Week 4 [01-07.04] Future of our universe

We all know how literally everything began (the big bang of course). But do we know where our universe is heading or how will it end? The following video can shed some light onto the future of the universe that we all live in. And also, can be a good way to spend afternoon on creative thinking 😉.

Questions:
1.       Which of the three theories included in video you would choose as most likely to happened?
2.       Do you have any other idea of how can universe end?
3.       Are you afraid of the end of the world?

Comments

1. Well, I am not a physicist or astronomer, so I can only guess, but for me the “big crunch” sounds the most logical. As far as I know, besides objects that are moving away from each other, there are also galaxies which are about to collide with the Milky Way. In overall, taking onto account the power of gravity I just feel that it is more likely that objects would eventually start to decrease the distance between each other.

2. I think that the universe will never end. Life on earth will end for sure, but as the total amount of energy is not changing I don’t see the reason for the universe to end completely. Also, various concepts of so-called apocalypse are mostly concerned about Earth only.

3. No, I am not afraid because it is not very likely that we would be still alive when it happens. There is of course a risk of ending the world by the means of nuclear or biological power which would not be very pleasant, but I personally don’t believe that such thing would ever happen. Actually, I believe that by the end of the world people will have developed a way to inhabit other planets. There is plenty of time to do this.
1. Really, I have no idea. This is very complicated process than we think. The three theories included in video, are very - in my opinion... - uncertain. It can really change a lot in the universe and we can't fully predict that, even astronomers, physicist and scientists.

2. Nope, I have no clue. This topic is mindblowing.

3. I do not think the end of the world will end in an few ages. And by the universe? Nope. Unlikely. Hitting 6-jackpot 6 times in a row in the our lottery (Lotto) is more likely than that. More I would expect a third World War, than that.
I have watched the video, when it came out, that channel really likes to imagine apocalyptic scenarios. If you ask me, the temperature death is the most plausible and logical outcome of all this. All stars will turn into white dwarfes or black holes and the last photon will die. Also yeah, the Universe expansion, if it gets faster than the speed of light, the absolute darkness commences. Well, anyway, the end of me, and all of us will certainly come sooner than the end of the Universe, so... Why bother?

1. Which of the three theories included in video you would choose as most likely to happened?
I believe that the expansion of the universe would eventually stop and the Universe would contract again..And explode again as a new big bang .The process continues for eternity.

2. Do you have any other idea of how can universe end?
I think all the options were presented in the video.

3. Are you afraid of the end of the world?
I'm sad that our whole existence will end. But the good news is that we will not see it.

I really dont know how the world will end. There is a lot of theories and things that people say would happend but I watched one video where all suns will burn out and there will be complete darkness in space, because of that every living creature will die because of low temperature. This type of videos really amaze me every time but we dont really know what will happend and this videos are just speculations. I don't know how the world will end but what I said earlier can be really accurate for what will happend to space but when it comes to earth I think we will simply destroy it by some nuke, war or just pollution. I'm not afraid of the end of the world just because I dont think I will experience it. It is far far future and I don't think I will live long enough to see what will happend.

I never thought about the end of the world, I prefer to think about what will be and not the end. In the film itself it was mentioned that the option number 1 is the most probable. In my opinion, the last option is the most interesting, because the end would also be the beginning. I have no idea how the world can end, but rather the human race will not survive to this point. For me, death is just the end. It's easy to say whether I'm afraid of the end of the world, because in the end situation everyone would panic and hardly anyone would be happy. The end will come one day and we must have such awareness.
I think that theory of "Big Rip" is the most likely to happen, as time goes on and everything gets further away and split's. I think the video explained ending mych better than i could, but generally all starss would die out and lack of gravitational and electromagnetic powers would result in disintegration of everything. I am not afraid of the end of the world, because it's stupid to be scared of something you cannot prevent and you know would happen. Also because i will not be able to witness it =3
1. It's hard for me to say, I have little knowledge in this topic to answer such a question and I do not like to speak on topics I do not know about.
2. I try to follow similar topics, but I am not a specialist and I have no other information.
3. No, my fear will not change so why worry?
1. Which of the three theories included in video you would choose as most likely to happened?

In my opinion, Big Freeze is the most likely scenario. Of course I am not a scientist and I don`t know secrets about these topics, but this vision appeals to me the most.

2. Do you have any other idea of how can universe end?

I have no idea how the universe could end. Each of the presented scenarios could take place, but the question is different. Are these scenarios the only one? The universe is huge and there are certainly many things that are not yet discovered by people. What if one of them turned our scenario upside down?

3. Are you afraid of the end of the world?

Honestly? I am not afraid of the end of the world. I am afraid of what is now, that is, that my childrens live in a normal and undamaged world. The possible end of the world is a distant and not necessarily real future.
1. Which of the three theories included in video you would choose as most likely to happened?
Maybe first one - big crunch? But I really do not have idea, it's too hard for me. Still, very interesting.

2. Do you have any other idea of how can universe end?
Trump will be US president for other decade.

3. Are you afraid of the end of the world?
Nah, I'm more afraid of everyday life.

This is a rather complicated question and in order to answer it or hold a discussion you really need to know more about matter and time. But as for me, the scenario is more likely to repeat, that is, in the future our universe will disappear and the Big Bang will occur again.
I am not afraid of the end of the world, because we cannot affect it, as well as our old age and death.

1. Which of the three theories included in video you would choose as most likely to happened?

The Theory also included in Hawking's Brief History of Time, saying that if the gravity fields become stronger than the expanding of the universe, it will begin to contract and eventually end as a small particle.

2. Do you have any other idea of how can universe end?

The most probable theory is, unfortunately, that human race will pollute the entire universe, just like we do with our planet.

3. Are you afraid of the end of the world?

Yes and no. I am because it is a terrifying idea, but I will probably not be around to see it happen. I am more afraid of dying myself, than of the whole universe.
It seems to me that the world will not cease to exist and will continue to expand its borders. Probably one thing that will end is our planet.
But during this time, a million others planets will be created. Are you afraid of the end of the world? Probably not, it seems to me that it will not happen in my lifetime :)

Of those theories that are proposed in your video, in my opinion the first theory is the most realistic - the theory of big collapse. Even more precisely, the answer to your second question lies in this: Do you have any ideas about how the universe can end? Since initially, I thought about it and imagined the end as some kind of cosmic catastrophe associated with a huge universal history.
I have no particular concerns about its occurrence, that is, I have no fear. If this happens, it will be so fast that humanity does not have time to feel, and even think about it.

By "Big collapse" I mean "Big crunch"
Well, to be sure I am not into subjects like this. This is pretty hard issue and I don't indentifies with any of this theories, maybe with big crunch but only beacause I do like a name :D
I think universe will expand over and over with no limits, we don't really know what is beyond what we see.
Not really, I would be dead by then ;)

For me the most logical scenario is the “Big freeze”. Everything goes towards entropy, even the universe. While the universe gets bigger and bigger the matter spread out. In far away future stars will not be able be born, so the universe will turn dark. Even at some point the black holes will evaporate due to Hawking Radiation.

As I mentioned earlier I agree with the “Big freeze” scenario.

No, because even if we manage to colonize another planet most likely the last human would die long time ago. But for me is kind of depressing that everything in the universe will die.
1. I think I will choose theory number 3 big crunch, about destroying and creating universe in a cycle. From our perspective and experience cycle of life and death is something that most likely will happen.
2. We will be invaded by interdimensional aliens that will steel our universe mater because they want to prolong life of their universe
3. No, I’m not because it will not happen in my life and even if it could occur in my life there is nothing I could do, so why bother

1. Which of the three theories included in video you would choose as most likely to happened?

I think the big freeze theory is the more likely end basing on knowledge that we have for now. But it's hard to answer because humanity knows far too little about how universe really works and theory is always a theory.

2. Do you have any other idea of how can universe end?

No don't I think this problems are bothering theoretical scientists and I like kind of problems that can be solved and not the theoretical future ones.

3. Are you afraid of the end of the world?

Not at all. I afraid of nuclear war, or post apocalyptic life, but if life will just stop on while planet, I'm ok with it.
1. Like they said, the freeze death seems the most likely right now. Personally I root for the vision of a cyclic, never-ending universe.
2. Maybe, it doesn’t have to. The thing about those theories is that they are, at best, estimates. The current state of our universe doesn’t really hold up to our understanding of the forces governing it. Terms like black matter are thrown around to cover up the simple fact that we have now idea why the expansion of the universe seems to still accelerate. We may be looking at things wrong. Maybe the universe isn’t an expanding sphere as we think but an 3 dimensional loop. All energy is basically just a disturbance in one of the 6 fundamental fields. Maybe more just pops up when space gets sufficiently stretched. We have no idea.
3. Exited is a word I would use.
There are a lot of theories about the end of the world and every theory seems plausible. When I was younger (8/9 years old) my teacher told me that the Sun will get so hot, that it’ll melt everything on our planet – I was terrified! I thought that it’ll happen in few years and I have to prepare for it. Now, I’m not afraid of the end of the world. It’ll occur far in the future, so it’s not my concern. Also our world is like a tiny bit of the universe, so it doesn’t really matter. We should probably fear of the condition of our world now – it has an enormous impact on our life unlike the end of the world.

1. Which of the three theories included in video you would choose as most likely to happened?
I think we live in never ending cycle of destroying and creating universe

2. Do you have any other idea of how can universe end?
I think they are all wrong and generally world will end when Im going to die. Its time to admit it that we are living in matrix.

3. Are you afraid of the end of the world?
My death is the end of the world
In my opinion the crunch teory seems most reasonable. I can see similarities in natural process like in case of pressure rise. I don't really know how will univere end but I have a feeling that he will rebiuld itself again. Circle of life is everywhere my guess is that in this case its just a bigger one, taking more time but the end is preatty much the same. Not really I'm more affraid of things under my controll that can be lost due to my mistakes.
1. Well the video did say that we are most likely heading towards a “big freeze” so I would choose this scenario to have the highest possibility of occuring.
2. Perhaps another big bang? Not sure what would cause it but if it started everything there is no reason why it couldn't end everything.
3. Not really. It's not likely to happen during my lifetime and if it does it won't be my problem anymore.

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and natura...

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds...

James Veitch is a British comedian. In today’s Ted Talk James with characteristic for himself a sense of humor shows how he deals with spam emails and why responding to junk messages may be sometimes dangerous. Questions: What do you think about James’s  way of dealing with spam? Why are junk messages legal, even though it sometimes may be a fraud? Dou you have a problem with spam? How do you deal with with it?
