If I can choose just one, it'd definitely be Week 9 [05.12 - 11.12] Favourite childhood games - http://konwersatorium1-ms-pjwstk.blogspot.com/2016/12/week-9-0512-1112-favourite-childhood.html
It brought me many good memories from my childhood, and reminded of interesting titles I already forgot about, and as I'm a gamer since primary school, it was quite a nice experience. It's always nice to return to those good memories when you were a child.
If second vote is allowed, I'd also want to put Week 7 [21.11-27.11] Sleep - http://konwersatorium1-ms-pjwstk.blogspot.com/2016/11/week-7-2111-2711-sleep.html, as I enjoyed this article a lot and learnt a few new things from it. Sleeping is cool :).
My favorite topics are all associated with TV shows. However, the last attracted my attention because it was about Netflix - "Week 11 [09.01-15.01] So ... what TV shows are you watching?" The author showed unusual phenomenon of my favorite TV series Narcos. Very nice to read and I had no problem to write a comment. I remember that there was more posts about the television series, but I can not find them. I must add, however, that all the articles were interesting and I learned something new.
It is a difficult choice because there are many interesting presentations. Even those with subjects that aren't intresting to me were done very nicely. If I have to choose one, from my subjective point of view, it has to be the "Week 11 [09.01-15.01] Quantum Entanglement - the future of communication?" by Michael Gutowski. This is a very interesting topic with a large scientific value, which should definitely be more widely known.
There was a lot of really interesting presentations, so to pick one is a hard task. I think I will choose the one from Week 4 [24.10 - 30.10.2016]: The Internet of Things - a blessing or a curse ? I like the topic very much and I enjoyed reading this presentation. Also my favourite presentations were the ones about TV-shows, as I love them a lot. :)
I've selected two presentations: 1) http://konwersatorium1-ms-pjwstk.blogspot.com/2016/11/week-7-2111-2711-electric-cars-fun-way.html This was one of the funniest post for me, showing that electric cars can also give us a lot of thrill and good fun.
It reminded me many old school titles, and refreshed my memory a bit. I'm gamer for 25 years now and lot of good memories were brought back with this article.
For me one of the best articles was Week 9 [05.12 - 11.12] Health problems and childhood obesity It's very important to keep in mind this kind of problem, because it may affects children in a very bad way. This article tells us about current problem.
I believe there were a few presentations about EmDrive, I remember this one: "Week 9 [05.12 - 11.12] Game changing propulsion engine". I found it really interesting and inspiring. I went searching information about EmDrive right after reading the presentation.
All of these presentations were great! Thank you guys for such interesting presentations. You have shown me a lot of interesting topics :)
If I need to choose the best presentation I would choose: Week 8 [28.11-04.12] - Will technology replace your job? (http://konwersatorium1-ms-pjwstk.blogspot.com/2016/11/week-8-2811-0412-will-technology.html)
It is very interesting to know how our world has changed. Thank you Ihor :)
There were many interesting presentations to read, so congrats to all of you guys! The ones which I enjoyed reading were the scientific presentations which include "Week 3 [17.10-23.10.2016] What are von Neumann probes and why don’t we see them everywhere?", "Week 5 [7.11-13.11] SpaceX and colonization of Mars", and "Week 9 [05.12 - 11.12] Game changing propulsion engine". However, there was also one about solo trips, namely "Week 10 [12.12 - 18.12] Just you and the whole world" by Olena. This one really got me thinking about my first solo trip and therefore this presentation is my personal favourite :)
Many presentations were really interesting. I really liked "Week 7 [21.11-27.11] Ways of drinking chocolate through the centuries", because it showed me many new ways of drinking one of my favorite drinks. I also enjoyed "Week 7 [21.11-27.11] Most Unusual Sports". If i have to choose one, my favorite was probably "Week 10 [12.12 - 18.12] Just you and the whole world". I love travelling and I have seen the benefits of doing it on my own in the past, but I haven't actually done it much. This presentation really encouraged me to do it.
My favorite presentation was about how cardio makes you fat. https://konwersatorium1-ms-pjwstk.blogspot.com/2017/01/week-0901-1501-what-if-it-was-for.html It was interesting, not obvious and what’s most important for me, based on scientific research, not on pseudoscience.
The implications of quantum theory are wide ranging. Quantum mechanics has explained the structure of the atom and the structure of the nucleus. Without knowing the structure of the atom, most of the physics and chemistry that we know today wouldn't have been possible. It is difficult to choose because there were many interesting presentations. But to be honest, in my opinion the best one was called "Quantum Entanglement" by Michael Gutowski.
There were many presentations which I found truly interesting this semester, so it's really difficult to choose only one of them. I think the most valuable one for me is "Week 8 [28.11-04.12] - Will technology replace your job?" (the topic itself, presentation and whole discussion below). I believe that the issue raised in this article is a serious threat especially nowadays, so it was really good to share perspectives on this topic.
For me best presentation is week 8 - "Will technology replace your job" https://konwersatorium1-ms-pjwstk.blogspot.com/2016/11/week-8-2811-0412-will-technology.html It presents us with a very near future and it is a little scary for me. Maybe it is like industrial revolution but this time we are horses which have been replaced by machines.
My favourite presentation this semester was the one about favourite childhood games by Bartosz Łyżwa. http://konwersatorium1-ms-pjwstk.blogspot.com/2016/12/week-9-0512-1112-favourite-childhood.html It brought me a lot of good memories from childhood, and I found a lot of interesing titles to play in comments.
I liked the most presentations where I could learn something, so it wasn't easy decision. There were many technology oriented articles, some about food and lifestyle. But in the end there were two candidates for my favourite article: Toucans and Ways of drinking chocolate. I like both topics, but my favourite one is presentation about Toucans. I really like programs and articles about animals, and this one was full of trivia and not well known facts, so everyone of us know something about those a little bit misterious birds. I liked form and used language. I really enjoyed reading that article.
I consider presentation "Week 7 [21.11-27.11] Is travelling the world really worth it ?" the best. Reading this, I had an impression that Agnieszka Gronwald wrote about me. Every single part was really so close to me. I remember very well this topic that's why for me it was number one. What's more, travelling is very important thing of my life and in my opinion it should be important for everybody. Frank Herbert told "Without new experiences, something inside of us sleeps. The sleeper must awaken." and that's the best summary of travelling as well as Agnieszka's presentation, which is describing it perfectly.
I enjoyed most of the presentations, choosen topics were intriguing and thought-provoking. The last week article about Vegan leather really gave me a lift, I wanna believe there will be a great long-lasting and ecological alternative for animal leather in nearest future. Second extremaly interesting for me post was "The phenomenon of bilingualism". I've learned new facts, which could be crucial for me in the future. I get to know déjà vu and other "vus" experience better thanks to Types of ''vus'' article from week 10.
When I read about the voting a few nice presentations have came to my mind. I really liked Week 8 "Target Shooting in Poland" by Jakub Mańkowski, because it is one of my favorite topics and I was so glad to read about it. And the article was full of information. Jakub made a good job. I also enjoyed the article by Michael Gutowski about Lego, because I have never read the company's history befor. Thank you, Michael.
But maybe I will choose the Week 4 "Broken radio: Number stations" by Andrzej Gulak. Because the topic was so special, it made me surf the Internet, I was really impressed.
Thanks to all you, guys. It was very interesting to read your presentations, and to learn more about your interests and opinions in comments. I must admit, that I liked the comments even more then the presentations:)))
The presentation that I liked the most was from week 4, British TV shows It was short, to the point, interesting and I found out new stuff. However there were many more presentations that were worth reading.
I found presentation "Week 3 [17.10-23.10.2016] What are von Neumann probes and why don’t we see them everywhere?" the most interesting and well-written. I've truly enjoyed reading it. Scientific approach to the matter is always valuable. Many other articles were great though, and i would say that each one should be distinguished.
This course was very interesting! So many great articles and so many interesting stories. I chose two which I really loved. First one is Just you and the whole world. Traveling is a huge part of my life and I love read about it so much. Also, I've experienced traveling alone, so I can closely relate to it. http://konwersatorium1-ms-pjwstk.blogspot.com/2016/12.. Second one will be Types of "vus". I've experienced all three types of "vus", but I didn't know how to name those feelings. And I'm glad that now I know it. http://konwersatorium1-ms-pjwstk.blogspot.com/2016/12..
Week 9 [05.12 - 11.12] Favourite childhood games http://konwersatorium1-ms-pjwstk.blogspot.com/2016/12/week-9-0512-1112-favourite-childhood.html
This was my favorite article from the whole semester. And not only in English course, but also it was one of the best articles I have read for last few month. Let me tell you why. While reading this article I had a quite stressful part of my life going. And after reading I downloaded some old games and played them with a full joy. After playing I was feeling much better. I've noticed that games that have a nostalgic value may have a therapeutical effect on a gamer.
Also, the article started a great discussion and people were reminding about great games about which I didn't remember.
My vote goes to the Hot Chocolate and ways to drink it presentation from week 7. I don't really know why I like it so much, but even tho I don't really like hot chocolate I felt a necessity to drink some as soon as possible. Especially the chili one.
It's hard to choose one, the best presentation because many of them are really interesting. I've chosen "Week 7 [21.11-27.11] The most beautiful and dangerous places on Earth". I love travelling and I think that each trip have something unique and worth to rememeber.
