Week 4 (26.10 - 01.11) Passion, travel, business and family. It is possible to have all?

Some time ago I heard a programme about a  couple of voyagers. They were talking about a voyage with their little son.
It was very inspiring  and fascinating to hear about their love for travel.
Both of them had stable jobs and both of them abandoned them for insecure and expensive but full of passion  travels.
It turns out that they haven’t resigned from  their careers. Both of them reconciled their passion with their work. Łukasz is a co-owner of Bubbleology.

What is Bubble tea and where it comes from?
Bubble tea is fresh flavored milk and fruit tea. It may be served hot or cold. Bubble tea consists of tapioki beads, which we can suck with a thick straw. It also includes green, black, red or white tea.
It was created at the beginning the 80s in Taiwan.

How is it possible that the owner is always somewhere, far from his business and the  business is doing great?
I admire this man and his partner.
Probably if Łukasz-the voyager and the co-owner of Bubbleology hadn’t set off,  we wouldn’t have Bubbleology.

His partner and the mother of his child is Natalia who actively engages in their business. She is a marketing researcher and the co-owner of  a research agency Brainlab.
http://www.brainlab.pl/
She is one of the most influential bloggers in Poland 2015. Her blog’s name is Tasteway: http://www.tasteaway.pl

That’s not all. They will open their new business DESEO with Piotr Chylarecki in a moment. Deseo will be a stylish pastry shop. It is a café and a boutique with unique sweets where confectioners will undergo training.
You can read more about it at

I told you about their baby as well, so…

His name is Maks. His first travel took place when he was 3 weeks old. When he was 2,5 months, he went on monthly travel in Europe. He is 4 years old and he was in 40 countries in 3 continents, inter alia Burma, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico, UAE and almost all of Europe.

Natalia and Łukasz are a great example that it is possible to connect a  family life, passion and business. They are great and fulfilled people who are looking for new challenges all the time.

I wish for life described in the article. Hopefully in the IT nothing will change in term of employment and remote work still will be available. I read few similar articles about people who connect travelling with work. The greatest example of that are voyagers who own a blog well known from beautiful pictures. There are also vlogers who create short movies uploaded to youtube. Thanks to advertisements that earn money for next trips.

Unfortunately I can’t believe that this is possible in all paths of career. Some of my friends who build rockets are obligated to work only in Poland and signed agreements of exclusivity. The same situation is with lawyers who knows their domestic law but are not specialists of law in every country.
It's certainly a great way to live, although I believe you not only need skills, but also luck to achieve it. It's certainly risky to abandon your full-time job. I guess most people who risked like that didn't have so much luck and didn't prosper - it's just that there aren't many articles about such people... :)

(off-topic, I just LOVE bubble tea! :))

My parents travel a lot and they were doing the same thing when I and my sister were little. She was on her first camping trip (sleeping in a tent and all that) when she was only 3 months old and around 2-3 months later my parents left for a month-long sea cruise around the coast of Portugal and The Caribbean (my sister stayed with our grandparents).

Even when they didn't have a lot of money I remember traveling to a lot of different places and just sleeping in a car on the way :) They belong to a scuba diving club so we were often traveling in a bigger group. I have a lot of great memories and both I and my sister inherited the love for traveling. My parents also still travel often and I think they are quite happy with their lives and accomplishments :)

Actually I've never tried Bubbleogry drinks :) Are they any good?

Thanks for your comment. Who are you talking about? Do you have some examples?
I totally agree with you regarding second part of your statement.

Quite recently I've become a big fan of bubble tea, those beads are my absolute favourite! It's great that these people have time and resources to travel although I'm not so sure about taking a child that young with them. From my experience I find families with small children obnoxiously annoying and the kids themselves don't even remember it later on. Of course that depends on what places they visit, after all they won't disturb any people when they go camping for example.
Anyway travelling is awesome and probably I'd like to have similar life, but I don't think I'd take the risk to leave my business behind.
That's a really proper example of the power of mind. No matter how difficult task seems to be, it isn't. The important thing to remember is that there are no limitations and our mind is like a lens which strengthen a ray of any idea in our heads. I'm absolutely glad that this family has reached the point of constant happiness and satisfaction from a lifestyle they lead, I'm seriously glad and joyed with this fact. May they not stop they way of living and keep embracing the unknown and challenging! :)

I have already heard about this couple and I really feel kinda jealous :) They found work-life balance, and made everything to have as much fun as possible in their lives :) Sometimes I wonder if our job - as graphic designers, can help us have life like that. In this case remote work seems to be perfect solution :D

I really like a picture of sweets that you have posted. I know one place in Warsaw where they have also beautiful sweets, you really can't resist! I highly recommend this place :)

check out their profile, cakes they sell are amazing! They look and taste great :) Has anybody of you been there? :)

I think it is quite possible, but it really depends on your profession and hobbies.

Of course I'd like to live the life similar to their's life and I'm sure I will be :)
But I think it is quite "simple" to travel with kid when he/she is under school age and especially if it's not a teen. But when your child goes to school or is a teen I think it is very difficult to travel with all family.

I admire these people. I wolud like to live such in such a way as they. It's wonderful when you could combine work with your hobbys. I think in our times we have easier realize that than, for example, had our parents. Now we can work remotely because we have Internet and a lot mobile devices that we can use. In my opinion graphic designer profession allows us live like this couple.

Something about tapioca, the best desserts in Warsaw from this has VegeMiasto at Bank Square:

I really recommend all fans of healthy sweets! :)

It looks like traveling is life dream of almost anyone. Why it is so uncommon for people to not crave to travel?
When you choose this lifestyle you immediately give up on having a home (or not, if you're filthy rich) . You have no place to store your stuff except digital data. And do people 'traveling' for life ever visit underdeveloped countries? What do they do, when they get lost in place with no internet/google or english speaking folks to ask for directions? And do they never get sick? Or do they have some magic worldwide travel insurance?

You gave an example of people curious, ambitious, who certainly have worked hard to achieve what you described. According to me the only way to fulfill your dreams is hard work. It is one thing, you have to like the job and it is best if it is your passion. Then comes that easily.

I prefer living stable life, so this presented here looks tempting but it's surely not the way of life I'd like to follow. I have no idea how people from the presentation manage to reconcile private life and career. Honestly saying, I'm on this level on life when I almost gave up on pleasures and I'm aimed to do the best at work and not mess up the university stuff in order to quickly reach level when I'll be able to devote more time to my future family.

On the other hand I've got a younger sister, who is in senior year of high school. She manage completing IB programme with great grades (which means in a nutshell that all of her lessons are in English and of course final exams too), working and having rich social life. Everytime I call her, she's preparing to another trip abroad (for which she's paing on her own despite the fact she's only 18). I don't know how she does it but I'm pretty sure that she'll end up like this couple from the presentation. I admire such people - it is really an unimaginable success to be fulfilled in all of life fields.

I can’t imagine traveling with 2 month old child. But, good for them if they can afford such interesting life. I’ve been thinking about moving to Philippines and stay there for about halve a year. Being a programmer I can work almost everywhere where I have an access to the Internet. And what is interesting about living in Philippines is fact that costs of living in “European” standards are about 1600zł a month. You can find more about it at szukajacprzygody.pl.
When it comes to bubble tea, a don’t get its popularity. It’s expensive and awful :P

I envy, in the good sense of this word, combination of work and pleasure. For me it's one of the most difficult things to achieve in life to which I aspire. Despite of this, I can't imagine traveling with 2 month old child too like Marcin Kornacki. Or... I can imagine but I wouldn't like to do it because I think that significantly lower the comfort of my travels. I love travel but polish system of work often prevents connection work and traveling. Add to this family it is hard to implement but possible as you can see but I think that one of those areas of life may be neglected by them to a greater extent. We can't focus in 100% on three big areas in the same time, research show that with increasing our multitasking decreases our efficiency.
Unknown said…
I totally agree with you that is risky and you need to have much luck. Although people risk.
Unknown said…
Wow, you have great and courageous parents. I admire people like your parents. I will never be enough courageous. Nonetheless it is injury that your sister stayed with your grandparents, when your parents left sea cruise around the coast of Portugal and the Caribbean.

Regarding bubble tea- I don't like it, but some people, like Parycja love it.
Unknown said…
Thanks for your omment. Oh why people with small children are obnoxiously annoying in your opinion? Heh, you are more cowardly than them? ;) Everyone have his own way in his life and it is good ;)
Unknown said…
Very interesting! You would think that such a lifestyle is impossible and yet they managed to connect everything somehow. I envy them, but on the other hand I'm not convinced I could live such a life. But still, they are very inspiring and a proof that you can fulfill your dreams while maintaining a job and raising a family.

Did I mention that I really like bubble tea? ;)

I admire this kind of people. They don't afraid to push forward and they don't left anything behind. They are smart, energetic and hard-working. Each of us lazy students should look at them and follow their aspirations. In my opinion this kind of people should be shown in school as a example of valuable person. Try to be like them, and make your life important. Discover something, become important and go down in history.

It's amazing that there are so intelligent people who know how to position the business, family life and passions. This family should be an inspiration for today's young people, who focus their attention only on career and they have no time for make a family. This family realizes all in good time. we can say that these people have a orderly life and values in times where values are disappearing
Unknown said…
Your comment is really iteresting, thanks. I hear motivating tone here. In my opinion this kind of people is really interesting and worthy of imitation, but I don't think that traveling is the most important in our life. Their life is very ineresting certainly.
Unknown said…
I think that conversation about value, when we don't know this people, is exaggeration, but still your comment is accurate.Thanks.
Unknown said…
It is not obligatory, but good to know it ;)

I never had a chance to try bubble tea, so I can not comment on it.

It's great that there are people who can combine work, family, passion and travel. But personally I am not an advocate of combining work and private life. I think that between these areas of life should be clear border. If there are no boundaries you never know if you're at work or at home.

Bubble tea and travels. What can go wrong? Last time I visited a bubble tea place it was quite nice. Not something I'd like to drink on regular basis but a nice refreshment. I didn't know that the owner of Bubbleology is a passionate traveller. I wish him best.
We HAVE TO go and get you a bubble tea, it tastes like heaven!
I have been travelling a lot when I was a child but honestly I don't remember much. Most of my memories are fake ones - created by looking at some photos from that time. In my opinion showing a child the world as a part of their education is a waste of parents' time and energy. Dragging a one-year-old with you to another continent and carrying all that baby equipment? It is completely pointless (logistically and educationally, it makes a lot of sense when it comes to bonding with a child etc). I think that parents should make their holidays a no-children time and take some rest because parenting is one of the most tiring jobs of all. Children should travel with their parents only when they grow up enouch to appreciate it. But this kind of life that puts passion, business, travel and family together is a true dream.

Combining passion and hobby with a job you do, it is the best what you can imagine. You don’t do this because you have to, you do it, because it gives you pleasure. Traveling is one of the most beautiful ways of how to know other cultures and see how beautiful and diverse the world is.
The article describes the perfect combination of work, passion and family. It's nice to read that someone could create a perfect combination of those things. The company he had built, base on observations and experience which he gained over the years.
I think that we all have to try to find the job that would give us pleasure and will develop our passions.

Good point. Unfortunatelly I get the impression that nowadays we have more and more problem to divide work and private life.

Thanks for your comment.

Thank you for your valuable opinion.

Yes, I agree with you. Combining passion and hobby with a job is the best what we can imagine. I hope and I believe that I will live like that in the future.

Hmm, interesting point of view. I have to think over your opinion.

It seems to be known for me, but I have never been there.

I wish one day I could have a life where my passion would be my work and my work would be my passion. Throw in a happy family life into the mix and you have the ultimate life goal. Luckily today it is easier and easier to change the boring 9-5 job for something more flexible and exciting.
This reminds me of a service called Lifetramp, where you can meet for a day with people working in various fields and spend a day with them. This is a great opportunity to see how others managed to find an occupation that brings them joy and also to try for a short period of time if your dream job really is as dreamy as it seems from a distance.
If you're interested here's a link: https://lifetramp.com/
This example support the trend that you can combine travel, family live and business relationship in one. More and more people are adopting to invest the time and money less secure but more rewarding enterprises. Bubbleology is great idea for the business and should be cultivated in are society today. In order to start the business many people often opt for internet business models that allow them to travel and flexibility to manage the family life.

Wow, great story :-) I wasnt aware that the bubble tea is run by such a interesting person. And as we can see - it is possible to connect career, passion and a family and to make it work together, so we can take Mr Łukasz as an example of "how to do it properly"

9-5 job can still be exciting and bring some exciting things. It depends only on you. If you love your job - you don't really need to travel - or you can, depends on your job :)

What I want to say is that my job doesn't stop me from traveling - it's my school. I can't travel far away because of obligatory classes. My job allows me to work remotely, maybe it would be a good idea to allow regular students to go for a week or two and work remotely?

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form.
