Week 5 [07.11 - 13.11.2016] Strange food

You might have heard that some Polish dishes    are considered at least "unusual" among other nations. Even some European citizens find our pickles or sour cabbage strange. I would like to mention some unusual dishes from the   whole world. As I don't want to cause disgust, I wont paste photos, but I will provide links for those who want to see how described food looks like. 1. Casu Marzu     Let ' s start in Europe. This Sardinian speciality is basically cheese. Quite unusual because  a cheese maker will leave it outdoors so that special kind of flies   will put its eggs inside it. The cheese is ready when  larvea will start to consume it. One should cover his/her eyes because those larvas can jump up to 15 centimeters. Also this is  its   "freshness" indicator: when larvea are dead, the cheese becomes toxic and should not be eaten! http://ruszwpodroz.pl/wp-content/uploads/2...

Probably everyone who reads this post uses Lithium batteries. They are used in our phones, toys, and tools. Nowadays some companies produce cars using them (Tesla, for example). If properly handled, they seem harmless. But, when misused, they become small bombs. Just take a look at a   recent article about Galaxy Note 7: https://konwersatorium1-ms-pjwstk.blogspot.com/2016/10/week-4-2410-30102016-what-catastrophe.html or watch this movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1n2ue9QmdM     Thanks to advanced technology and billions of dollars invested in batteries research by companies throughout the world we can enjoy efficient (compared to other batteries) storage of electric power. Compared to other available power sources used by humans (fuel, for this example), batteries are expensive and inefficient, mostly due to long recharge time. That is why electric road transportation cannot compete with gasoline, despite the fact that electri...

Source:  http://www.forbes.com/sites/kathleenchaykowski/2016/02/24/mark-zuckerberg-has-a-plan-to-make-virtual-reality-social/#2f8b763c7959 After smartphone revolution it was commonly believed it would be hard to make another step making such a big difference in our daily lives and usage of technology. Well, after witnessing Virtual Reality gaining momentum and becoming more and more popular, it’s highly probable it will affect our lives even more than smartphones. It was, until 2014, when Facebook bought Oculus, the biggest company producing virtual reality headsets, for 2 billion dollars. Virtual reality business gained mass   popularity and won attention.
