1. No, I have never heard about the Burning Man, and to be honest I would not like to go there someday, because the topic of that event is something which is totally not interesting for me, but I respect those people and their work – it does look impressive.

2. I am sorry, but I can’t really answer that question. I don’t know the contemporary art and I am unable to tell if I like it or not, compared to other types of art. If I had to make my mind based on the structures presented in the video, I would say that I like them, even more than “traditional” paintings, or sculptures. They invoke curiosity, like the speaker said, which cannot be said about a lot of paintings in the museums.

3. The Peter Hudson’s “Charon” was the most impressive for me, because of its size and the engineering made especially for the purpose of art.

1. Have you ever heard about the Burning Man? Would you like to go there some day?
Never heard of it, but it sounds nice. I like to turn off my phone and just live, in peace with nature mostly and people surrounding me.

2. Do you like contemporary art?
Nah, I am not an art person. I like to watch some movie, maybe a piece of painting but I don't know much about it.

3. Which of the art work presented in the video made the strongest impact on you?
The glowing tree it looks so peaceful almost hypnotizing to me.

1. Have you ever heard about the Burning Man? Would you like to go there some day?I've never heard of the Burning Man. Unfortunately, the film didn’t convince me to go there, I don’t like this type of events, I definitely prefer to go to the museum at this time and watch the paintings calmly.

2. Do you like contemporary art?
I don't like contemporary art, I hate it and I don't understand it. Some works are too bizarre for me. I prefer art in times of impressionism. In addition, I love to watch "traditional" painting up close. I can't paint and I always admire those who can create a masterpiece with a few simple lines.

3. Which of the art work presented in the video made the strongest impact on you?
I've always wanted to learn how to make origami, of course, nothing came of it, I don't like art things too much. So I was the most fascinated by origami mushrooms.
1. Unfortunately, I have not heard of this event. As it takes place in Nevada, it is unlikely that I will take part in it. However, if I had the opportunity, I would watch all the works with curiosity.

2. Yes, I like contemporary art probably the most of all. It is very diverse, not obvious and interpretable in various ways. My favorite art area are murals or sculptures in parks. I really like how art merges with the surroundings.

3. I paid most attention to vehicles reworked to look like animals and to the burning structure. However, it is difficult to clearly determine, watching focused primarily on the idea of the event and I think that each work was interesting.

1.
Yes, I think that Burning Man is one of the most famous festivals in the world. Sure, it would be a great experience to attend it, and I am certain I would meet a lot of great people there.

2.
Yes, I do. I try to visit art exhibitions and contemporary museums often.

3.
Maybe the temple. Every structure presented by the artists has probably a meaning under it, but I found the template one the most moving, and it looks amazing.

I agree, art presented in the video is exceptional and gives a chance to experience what it is offering not just by looking at it.
"Charon" is a huge vertical 3d stroboscopic zoetrope — it's very impressive. In the times when this technic was actually used in animation the sizes of this constructions were much smaller!
Olga Bogdał said…
This kind of event probably allows you to be cut off from the outside world for some time. I would also like to experience this by myself.
I think there are movies that we can call art as well. There may be not many of them but they are worth looking for!
Olga Bogdał said…
I liked the origiami mushrooms too! The must have look pretty cosmic on the desert in the middle of the night.
Olga Bogdał said…
The vehicles were very interesting. People who create them must be very passionate about building such things since they are probably unlikely to drive them anywhere else but the festival grounds during those nine days!
Olga Bogdał said…
I agree. The temple looks great. One can only guess how long it took to create its concept and its meticulous construction.

1. Have you ever heard about the Burning Man? Would you like to go there some day?

This is the first time I've heard of this festival. I don't want to go to this festival. I'm not interested in this way of spending time.

2. Do you like contemporary art?

I don't understand this kind of art. I watch and I don't understand, I don't know whether I like it or not, someone usually has to explain to me what the artist wanted to tell me

3. Which of the art work presented in the video made the strongest impact on you?

I like this unicorn on wheels the most, but I don't think it has any effect on me. I'd like to go for something like this. In Lublin, there's a big hen on wheels at the festivals, so I'd like to ride in the unicorn too.
Olga Bogdał said…
I agree, the unicorn seems to be a lot of fun!:)
1. Yes, I have heard about the Burning Man and i would like to go there very much. I like the idea of this kind of festival.
2. It depends what it shows. I have a problem with contemporary art where artist leaves a blank canvas or just throw paint. That kind of art show in the video is the one I accept and like.
3. I really like that one with church trap because of its meaning moreover i also enjoyed vehicles.
1. Have you ever heard about the Burning Man? Would you like to go there some day?

Yes, I have. I always thought that this is a very weird festival with a very strange people. However, I would love to visit it one day. Without a doubt it is a one of a kind event on the planet. I can only imagine how it feels to be in the middle of a desert while still attending a festival. It seems like chaos but there must be a lot of professional organising to make this thing happen.

2. Do you like contemporary art?

Every piece of art is different and I don't want to place everything in one category. There are a lot of different pieces of art created nowadays and some of them are amazing and some are just weird. Most of them in my opinion fall into the second category unfortunately.

3. Which of the art work presented in the video made the strongest impact on you?

The one with flamethrowers placed all around it seems cool. All of them are amazing and it is a shame that they will be burned to the ground in the process but if that's the point then I can only let it be that way.

1. Have you ever heard about the Burning Man? Would you like to go there some day?
Yes, I have heard about Burning Man several times. I have known more about it after watching one cool Ukrainian travel blogger documentary about Burning Man on YouTube. One more thing that impressed me except the art is that there is no need for money on the Burning Man, everything is offered for free by other participants (it seems like utopia). It is a great festival and I really want to visit it one day.

2. Do you like contemporary art?
It depends on contemporary art works. If it is something like was presented on the video, so yes, I like such contemporary art, cause it looks really amazing. And how the speaker mentioned at the beginning such works create an emotional connection between the artist and the audience.

3. Which of the art work presented in the video made the strongest impact on you?
I liked all of the art work presented in the video. From year to year art installations on Burning Man more and more beautiful and it is difficult to choose one. The most memorable were the lightning dancer and the tree that responds to the voices. And it makes me a little bit sad that all of these works will be burnt :(
Olga Bogdał said…
I did not know about the fact that you don't need no money on the grounds of the festival. This rule makes the whole event even more intriguing.
I also find that fact about burning everything to the ground quite sad. However I think this act underlines the temporariness and uniqueness of this event.
Olga Bogdał said…
I agree, many objects of contemporary art are of dubious value. Sometimes this value can only be judged by specialists, which makes it hardly accessible to the majority of the public.
Olga Bogdał said…
I also once wondered how hard it must be to organize such a huge festival in the desert, with big artistic installations. A lot of responsibility must rest with the organizers to ensure all safety rules. I really liked the flamethrowers too!

Yes, I have heard about it a couple of times, the first one was in the school I thing, in English lessons. Also in the news, social media and so on. I'd like to go there cause I think it will give me an experience of emotions that I haven't got before.

2. Do you like contemporary art?

Depends on the art. Contemporary or classic one - it can be both interesting and exciting or strange and senseless. It depends on a piece of art, not on its type.

3. Which of the art work presented in the video made the strongest impact on you?

Tree. It is cool, no? I'd like to know more about its design and maybe program code, that is used to control all those sensors.

Neither did, sadly. I guess, I am just not the audience for this.

1. I've heard so many times about this festival. Probably the first time about 5 years ago when I was very interested in club music (burning man is also known for musical reasons). I even wanted to go there, but the cost of such a trip was to high for me.

2. No, I don't like contemporary art. The only art I accept is the "classical" one.

3. I liked the temple the most because of the details and the construction itself.

I never heard about this event. I would like to go there someday and help others to create art as shown in the video. But it will probably never happen.

2. Do you like contemporary art?

Contemporary art is very interesting. Art itself shows our feelings and a different way of thinking to us. We should use everything that we can to expose our art to others.

3.Which of the art work presented in the video made the strongest impact on you?

I really liked the tree with sound sensitive led lights on it. It showed me how the loud world around us can be.

1.Of course I have heard about it, well if I would have spare 10k gold I would definitely visit that festival.
2.I really enjoy contemporary art, although I do not understand it. The craziest exhibitions I have seen were in contemporary art museum in Sevilla, I can not compare them to anything other I've seen in my life. My favorite pieces of art were made by Jan Fabre.
3.Big and shiny instalations of mushrooms and trees - I feel like we are getting less and less connected with nature as mankind, that's why I feel like these pieces of art are touching my soul the most.
1. Have you ever heard about the Burning Man? Would you like to go there someday?

Yes, I have heard about it and of course I want to visit it. I have seen a video, where the YouTube blogger was telling about it, about its history and how it is to live there and be a part of such a great community.

2. Do you like contemporary art?

It depends, I have seen great examples of contemporary art, but in the last few months, it is not so interesting. Maybe I am not feeling right for this type of art right now or I just should change sources.

3. Which of the artwork presented in the video made the strongest impact on you?

I like the works with illuminations. They are so crazy and at the same time fantastic. I would like to see how they look in real life.
