Week 9 [23.05 - 29.05] Running

Spring is the perfect time to start your running adventure. If you decide to run is worth to set a goal. It can be run 5 km, 10 km, half-marathon or even an entire marathon. it is always a motivation for further workouts. Good prepareis also very important, especially choosing the right footwear. It prevents any injury. There are three types of foot:

http://www.foot-heaven.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Over-Pronation-Of-The-Foot.jpg

Over-pronation

"When the arch collapses too much and the foot rolls inward excessively, distributing weight unevenly. One of the most common foot misalignments. - http://www.footbalance.com/why-footbalance"

Excessive supination

"When the foot leans to the outside. Weight is distributed along the outside. Also known as underpronation, over supination reduces the body's natural shock absorbing capability."

Neutral

"Foot and ankle maintain a straight line. Weight is distributed evenly across the foot and heel."
before running you should choose footwear include type of foot. It is very important. When we know what kind of foot do we have we can avoid injury sometimes very serious. We should keep in mind that running is a sport that we must prepare ourselves physically - warm-up and should obtain the appropriate clothing.
This is a short video that show us how to choose shoes:
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVhsi4RIt5g

There are a lot of applications that motivate you to run.
I use „Nike Running +” http://www.nike.com/pl/pl_pl/c/running/nikeplus/gps-app
This application allows you to follow activity , motivate others and achieve better results. You can choose special program to get result that you want. It’s called coach. When you turn it on everything everything becomes possible to run.

http://bieganie.pl/?cat=22&id=6843&show=1 - there you can find other applications that help you running.

Systematic running increases physical fitness and has a positive effect on your health. When you connect physical activity with diet the results will be faster, both goals in running and weight loss.

We can divided running due to the distance into long-haul, short-haul and due to the intensity intervals and running at the same speed. Different types of running make different human shapes. Just compare the construction of the body of a sprinter and a marathon runner. Both are completely different. marathoner is thinner and sprinter is more muscular.

I like running a lot. I have never tried to attend the marathons or any such event. I prefer to run in gym or during summer in parks. It is very important to equip with professional shoes. Many people have feet disorders and they need help of orthopaedist. If you feel any pain during walking you should definitely visit a doctor, because you can only make bigger problems to your health. I also visited orthopaedist and I found out that I need orthopaedic insoles, and I can’t even walk without them not mentioning any sport and activity. I highly recommend to you Nike shoes and their’s dry fit technology for clothes.

I also like running. Of course it is not the best thing in the world but it is good to stay in shape. I prefer football and I even played professionally for some time before my injury. I guess any sport is better as a hobby then professional occupation. After all professional sportspersons are dealing with major health problems and they are not in perfect shape. I wish that people watching competitions in tv will understand how hard it is not only to be part of sport world but also how hard it will be when they will no longer work. So everyone should rethink whether sports career is what they want in life. It is not as beautiful and easy as everyone thinks.

I'm gonna be the odd-one-out, as I really hate running. Doesn't matter if it's running as a sport or running to make it to the bus, I really hate it and avoid it as much as I can. On the gym, I always prefer cross-trainer or stationary bike to athletics track.

I've tried to go running once. After the first kilometer, I thought I'd die of suffocation :D I know it's the matter of physical condition and that the first time is always the hardest, but I don't believe it's the right sport for me.
I was never a running fan. However, last year I got a fit wrist band that was setting me daily steps goal. It was 7500 and I had to do it before midnight to keep my score up. The worst part was that if I didn't make enough steps a whole "winning streak" would go down to zero and I would have to start over with building my record. It is a really good motivator, I must say, but the thing is I was working hard back then and I often reminded myself of all these steps to make about half an hour before midnight. I used to walk in my living room, but I had more and more steps to make everyday and the speed of my walking was not big enough to make all the steps in half an hour. So I started running back and forth in my living room :D It was a very smooth transition from being a lazy bum into somewhat-liking-some-activity. Later on I got myself a threadmill to fill all the series binge-watching with something useful to do - I ran and watched a couple of episodes. It was fun too. The reason why I didn't run outdoors was that I get super red on my face when I excercise and it was uncomfortable for me to anyone see me like that. It is not that I get so tired that my face looks like a beetroot, I get red with any light physical activity. A few weeks ago I discovered running in a forest and it is a blessing! Nobody is there except from maybe three other people running and nobody cares. It is cooler than outside of a forest and you don't get as much sun.

Apart from running, I also practice yoga, I ride a bike and I swim. Yoga is sooo good! It calms your mind, relieves back pain, improves your posture and is a very effective stretching excercise. It is good for anyone who doesn't like sports but would like to get into some kind if physical activity.

I watch a blog Vegenerat Biegowy and, as you can tell from the blog's title, he is a man obsessed with vegan food and running. He runs for around 5 years now and you can find his beginner's stories on the blog. I brought up this subject because you asked about marathons and half-marathons. This guy took part in a TWELVE hour run! He run 120,5 km and he describes his experience here. I cannot even imagine running a marathon!

I recently watched a very nice, marathon-related movie "Run Fatboy, Run" with Simon Pegg. He leaves his pregnant fiancee at the altar and after five years decides to win her back by running a marathon. He doesn't have much time to prepare for it and being fat and unfit doesn't help him at all. It is a light comedy and I recommend it as a stress relieve:)
I've actually taken up running about half a year ago and it's been pretty great. It's quite meditative and obviously helps your fitness. I was searching for a sport, which wouldn't invole a steep learning curve and would make me fit and I stuck with long-distance running. Obviously I'm just an amateur and never had any plans to achieve sth in it besides fitness. Also as I can't really stick to any kind of diet, I concluded I need to find a sport that suits my current posture, which is sort of similar to your average Kenyan long-distance runner ;)

Recently I have fallen a little bit behind, but I'm coming back as soon as I sort out school/job related stuff.

PS For people afraid of marathons - they aren't that scary and as long as you don't have any kind of disqualifying condition, you'll be fine. Running a marathon isn't that hard in itself, it may be challenging to accomplish it in a time that you classify as "good", but then again if you don't wish to be a pro, you should probably just set your goals accordingly to your own limitations.

Do you like running?

Not really, fast walking is better for weight loss, or so I've heard.

What kind of sport do you prefer?

Team sports, and action packed sports. Like paintball for instance.

Have you ever run marathon or half-marathon?
Can't say that I did.

I like running, there was a time in my life when i used to run 10km per day. Regretfully, back then i didn't know how harmful running can be and overused my knees. Nowadays I can run but not to often, because it a causes pain in legs. I think running is great thing, however one should consult training plan with professional before starting training.

I run in the gym too and the same - in the summer in parks or forest. The weather must favor for it.
Thank you for recommending running shoes. I'll take it into consideration when I want to buy a new one.

10km per day - so you have to be a real expert in this theme :) congratulations condition! When I run 10km I'm really proud of myself.
I prepared for the half marathon, but an injury prevented me. Now I know how important it is appropriate footwear.
Now everything is ok, so I will restart "warm-up" before half-marathon. I love this feeeling after running.

I completely understand you. I didn't like running but I wanted to overcome my weaknesses. Now I got used to my body to this kind of physical effort. I can say that I cann't imagine life without running now. It's amazing how my point changed to running.

I can almost express my opinion as semi-expert here as I am one of people responsible for one of hardest extreme race in Poland. Although that is something rather different than running in city, in civilized conditions. Still I found the article interesting.
If someone likes challenge, I strongly endorse our race:

I don't running but I think it's nice activity, because only thing you need is good shoes (good weather too). I prefer sports with weights, some strenght sports like kettelbes or something like crossfit but in the summer I also like roller skating or cycling. I've never tried to run a marathon and at the moment I'm not going to do it. It's important that the sport gives us pleasure despite exhausted so in my case running doesn't make it. I think every sport activty is good if you do that properly.

To be honest I hate running because of a feeling of boredom. When I was a little girl I represented my school in short-distance running competition. If I have to run at present I'll run only in short-distance. I feel a hugh tiredness after running several (above one) kilometeres. I prefer the most dancing. A few yeras ago I danced and I run a lot to keep psychical condition. Currently I can't imagnie my participation in run marathon :)

I'm not terribly fond of running, but I admire people who jog day or night, sun or rain. The so-called "running high" has always fascinated me. I've heard it's true and I've read many stories about jogging but it just seems so abstract to me.
Unfortunately, sport has never helped me clear my mind or focus like art did, but I admit that even short workouts can help one feel a tiny bit better when one feels low. I'm definitely not the person to discourage anyone from doind sports or criticise those who don't like/practice it, but I suppose the minimal effort, like walking, should be done so that we don't suffer the consequences of sedentary lifestyle too badly.
I've tried to running. With someone, with music. But it always make me bored after 10 minutes. I have no idea why. Maybe I should try one of this applications which you wrote about or maybe you've got some advices for me? About the best music or what kind of road should I pick? Into the forest?
I really wanna make my condition better! :)

I love it, I love running. I feel it is the best way to stay in shape and also the best way to spend some time alone with own thoughts, when nobody and nothing is bothering. I have always treated running time my personal time with myself, so I would run 10 km while listening to music, enjoying activity, the landscapes and environment around me. I would recommend running to everyone who likes to challenge himself, because, honestly speaking, running is fun and doesn't get boring when we want to get better. This means longer time of running, longer routes and in some people's cases - shorter time. To me it is important to take care of health by activity such as running.

I absolutely hate running. It's quite complicated, because I'd gladly try some jogging at least, but I haven't come across a sports bra that would be good enough. Finding a good bra in general is not a new problem to me but in this case it's very important, I'd even say just as important as shoes. So because of that - no running for me. But I do some power walking from time to time, as it applies less shock to my upper body, and now that the weather is nice and warm I cycle - not really long distances, about 10km on weekdays, once or twice a week and about 30km on weekend. I'd say cycling is my favourite outdoor activity.

I only like short distance run. I’ve always been the best sprinter at school, but the worst long distance runner at the same time. I prefer dynamic sports when agility plays the main role such as martial arts. I’ve never run a marathon or even half-marathon, and don’t think it’s going to change.

Everyone has favourite sport. I know that a lot of people hate running. I also didn't like it really but I got used my body to do it and now it's only pleasure.

I like running with application Nike+ and music. There is some option that called "coach". When you choose it, you will have some running goals everyday. motivates to action. Moreover, running in the forest (changing landscape) makes that I don't feel bored.

Thank you for interesting link. I haven't heard about Bieg Tygrysa. I will read this article and get some information about it.
I once tried to run .. and that was the end of my adventure with running;) equipment, warm-up certainly are very important elements but you have to know how to do it. I can not. I imagine that you become addicted to it .. I would like too. Maybe someday. When it comes to choice of shoes - it sure is very important. People lekcewarzą shoes and buy anything, anywhere. From the arrangement of the foot depends on our attitude, a healthy spine and well-being. I am glad that more and more people are turning attention to the health of their feet. Maybe one day, and I note the advantages of running.

We have a very similar approach to the physical activity. I also try to take care of my condition. It is very important not only for body shape but of course for health.

Crossfit is also very cool sport. Even a few months ago I attended training to the crossfit box. I have very positive memories of those workouts. Now running has become a priority for me.

I used to run every day but it finaly became boring for me. Sports I like the most are are based on rivalry, some risk and raise adrenaline level. For a long time i want to enter some basketball organised meeting but it is not easy to muster a team of girls. I was highly active child but this days i have to admit sport is something i mostly watch in TV than i take part in it.

Do you like running?
Well, I am not sure I like running. I always think that it would be a great idea to start running, but I can't find enough motivation.
Even at the gym I prefer ellipse or stepper more than running track, however sometimes I really enjoy running and this feeling when you ran more than last time.
I would like to try running at the park, I don't know why I haven't tried it yet :D

What kind of sport do you prefer?
I prefer yoga and stretching at the moment, but few months ago I went to the gym for a heavy weights. It is always different :)

Have you ever run marathon or half-marathon?
I've never run a marathon and a half-marathon, but sometimes I think that it would be cool to run at least a half-marathon.

Yeah, it is quite popular nowadays...running. My whole family does that. My parents can run 10km few times a week and my brother even more. I have heard maaany good opinions about it and also how it makes you feel good. And I still can't really think of an idea like "hey, maybe i'd go out and do 2km". Well i think it still is not my time to get to it. I like the design of running shoes tho, so maybe one day.. ;)

To be honest I am not a big fan of running :( I always wanted to try but I don't feel like I am capable of run more than few kilometers. I also think that many people make a terrible mistake and they run on the streets or pavements - I mean concrete, hard surfaces what is killing our joints! It is so much better to run in the forest or in the park...
When it comes to outside cardio I definitely prefer bicycle over running :)

I recommend shock absorber or panache sport :) Best sport bras ever made and in many sizes!

I enjoy running and I do it a lot. I have never attended any marathons or special events. My daily workout in the summer is running about 10 kilometers in the forest. I dislike running in gyms because it’s too small place which stinks and is overpopulated. When I started to use professional shoes I see the difference not only in running but also on the next day my feet don’t hurt so much and also I don’t get any blisters. My biggest problem was to find running shoes because I have big feet, you know what they say when men have big feet ;).

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr
