[Week 12] Traveling – fashion, passion or duty?

Traveling is one of the most popular hobbies of people around the world.
But why they like to travel and how they enjoy the traveling experience is not the same. Just as we like the same things for different reasons in our life, when it comes to traveling also people have different attitudes towards the activity. Let’s explore some of the reasons why people like traveling.
Relaxation is number one on a list of these reasons. After a whole year of earning a living some people prefer to spend hard earned money relaxing, that means to unwind and revitalize the body and the mind. It may be a destination of their preference in their own country or a foreign country. Recently more people have followed the fashion and visited far away countries and continents such as Asia or Australia. These who cannot afford to spend lots of money on traveling choose Egypt or Tunisia – foreign countries for little money.
Visiting family and friends is another reason why people like to travel. It is a huge opportunity especially for these who cannot spend lots of money for traveling.
If some of the family members live away from you or if one of your best friends had migrated to a new country you will be keen to visit them and get yourself updated with what is happening in their lives. Even though there are many sources of electronic means to keep in touch with those who are away from you, nothing can beat the experience meeting your loved ones in the flesh. When they visit the loved ones they always try to kill two birds with one stone as they do not forget to see the hot spots of the country and the surroundings of the area the host lives. Also, on the other hand, their loved ones are dedicated to entertain the visitors.
Positive feelings such as love or very close friendship motivate some of the travelers to take off on an airplane and to go to a different country at least for a while and only for pleasure. One might be trying to woo the other person by traveling to a romantic destination such as Paris in order to impress and also enhance their romance being in one of the most romantic places on earth. Or maybe the two might be already in love and want to enjoy the atmosphere of a romantic city.
Honeymooners are also under pressure to travel away from their comfort zone to indulge in romance and explore a new city. There are some destinations specifically named as honeymoon destinations and there are even hotels especially dedicated to welcome and pamper the honeymooners. Most of these hotels have hotel rooms decorated with a romantic theme and do their best to keep the new couple comfortable and happy.
Traveling for religious reasons is also quite common among the travelers. The pious devotees of any religion love to visit the religious sites that they hold in high regard. Especially when you get older the only wish of some devotees is to visit the holy cities or places of worship before they die.
Whatever the reason you travel it can be a wonderful experience to anybody. As humans enjoy new experiences it is considered as one of the most enjoyable experiences and it doesn’t matter if it is fashion, passion or duty.

Do you like to travel?

Comments

I think that we can differentiate 2 types of travelling - city breaks (a short trip to a popular city) and vacations. The first type is perfect for long weekends or just on weekend. Nowadays you can visit most popular cities in Europe on minimum costs - thanks to cheap airline tickets and portals like CoachSurfing. The second type, vacations, are the well deserved holidays - one or two weeks in a place you would like to visit. I agree that now it's trendy to go somewhere far away, where there's not much tourists yet. But in my opinion it's reasonable - going to the polish seaside in June or August is pointless and a waste of time and money.
I mostly like travelling because of two reasons, to sightseeing and exploring an old places and monuments like ruins of ancient Rome or medieval castles. I’m travelling to this kind of places alone, without trip or guide, I can simply fell freely, and without hurry passing by through an interesting locations. The good solution are the trips to lonely places like mountains. We can spend time there on relax or on admiring the views.

In my opinion, the most trashy and at the same time the most fashionable travel is probably journey to Egypt for example, where the many of people are usually getting lend for that.

As most of us I like travelling. I wish I could have more money and free time for it. My motivation is experiencing other cultures and their history. Meeting people living sometimes complete different life opens our minds for other perspectives and possibilities. We can learn a lot from other nations.

Let's be honest - do you know anyone who truly hate travels? Everyone likes to see something completely new, take a break from everyday tasks or just explore the world.
I love traveling, even when it's just a two day trip out of town. Changing the environment, breaking the habits for a while, meeting new people, tasting new food - these things help me recharge my batteries. I hope I'll get the chance to visit even the wildest and distant places one day. For now I'm an armchair traveler, sadly. But as soon as I graduate I'll start my travel!

Everyone love to travel :) ... it allow you to relax and revitalize. While traveling you can see many beautiful places. Meet some very interesting people and perhaps find new friends. If you are single, traveling can be a great way to meet your true love. Traveling is great if we do it because we want to relax or go see our families. But there is also other side of the coin. If we travel because of work, we might not feel relax anymore and there for we might stop getting pleasure out of it. If we have to travel in time when we wish that we where doing something ales instead... we will not enjoy it at all. As I mention before in some other comments I would love to go to bora bora island.

I believe that when you aren't traveling, you are missing on life, and not living life the way it's meant. It's the number 1 best thing in life you can do, and the most life changing thing. If you're young, travel. Nothing will enhance you more than that, and no words can describe it. Go as far as possible, plan (or not) as many things by yourself as possible and make meeting as many people as possible, possible. That's that thing nobody ever regretted, and it's usually much better than you would've ever thought.

Do you like to travel?
Of course I do... everyone does. Some people spend whole lives to travel and it is great adventure for sure. I can say travels are eye-opening, horizon-broadening, life-changing experiences.
Sure I like traveling! I think it's a great thing and nowadays it's so easy to travel across the world. For me the only thing that is very important for a good trip is good company. Of course, it's different when we travel for work: than we just need to reach a destination to do our job - then it's usually better to go alone, so you don't have distraction. This may vary for person. Anyway, when I have a trip and/or a vacation I always want to have some people to share the experience with.

In my opinion a people who's a lot of traveling they have much a beautiful memories.

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and natura...

Week 9 [11.12 - 17.12.2017] Is Scientific Community Accepting of New Ideas?

We all want to believe that science is about pushing the boundaries of knowledge, breaking the status quo and persuading curious ideas, even if the majority of people find them unbelievable. But is it so? There are many cases of scientists who were disgraced and persecuted by the scientific community simply because their findings challenged the already existing beliefs. Humberto Maturana and Lynn Margulis Humberto Maturana is a prominent biologist who studied the examples of symbiosis between organisms: fungi that control the ants (there are farming ants that grow fungi for food) or the parasites that hijack the brains of snails. https://www.une.edu.au/__data/assets/image/0005/24791/leucochloridium-paradoxum.jpg Maturana wondered how is it possible that a symbiosis so complex as the one between a worm and a snail could ever take place? I t occurred it is actually a more general argument about the evolution. What comes first: the design or the applic...
