Week 6 [24.04-30.04.2017] New TV shows worth watching

New TV shows worth watching

1. Taboo (8.8 on IMDb)
http://deadline.com/2016/11/taboo-premiere-date-fx-bbc-tom-hardy-steven-knight-ridley-scott-1201854653/

“James Keziah Delaney returns to 1814 London after 10 years in Africa to discover that he has been left a mysterious legacy by his father.” 1

This TV Show might be not just released, but it’s still relatively a new one. Dark and mystical story created by Tom Hardy about the man who returned from Africa because of his father’s death. He found out that he inherited The Nootka Sound Island, which occurs to be a very important strategic object for the Great Britain. James Delaney is not one of the easy-going people, so The East India Company are looking for the ways to cooperate with Delaney or the ways to kill him.
Great written and directed show! Highly recommend to watch.

2. Westworld (9.0 on IMDb)

http://www.hbocanada.com/westworld

“Westworld isn't your typical amusement park. Intended for rich vacationers, the futuristic park -- which is looked after by robotic "hosts" -- allows its visitors to live out their fantasies through artificial consciousness.” 2

The first season is over, so, for those who haven’t watched it yet, it’s a great opportunity to start and watch all episodes at once. This show is worth it. There are no any other TV shows like this. A huge park for the richest people in the world with robots, which look like humans. Every film fan will find “Westworld” immediately intriguing from the very beginning. 'Westworld' is an intelligent science fiction for adults definitely worth watching!

3. Riverdale (8.0 on IMDb)

https://chomikuj.pl/Seriale_LOVE1/!+*e2*96*a3+!+*e2*96*aa*e2*96*ba++Riverdale

“After the death of one of the rich and popular Blossom twins on 4th July, the small town of Riverdale investigates the murder. The series starts in September, the beginning of a new school year that brings new students, relationships and reveals the mysteries of the past 4th July.”3

A new TV show, made by Netflix, with only 9 episodes left. It’s a mix of drama, thriller and teenage life problems based on comics “Archie”. A story of the little town Riverdale where the son of the most powerful family was murdered. Almost everybody in the city has its own part in this murder and we can’t figure out who really made it and why.
I guess it’s the first show I’ve seen with so many red head people in leading roles. And all the fans of Beverly Hills, 90210 will be pleased to see Luke Perry as the father of the main character.

4. 13 Reasons Why (9.1 on IMDb)

http://www.wirtualnemedia.pl/artykul/13-reasons-why-nowy-serial-netflix-selena-gomez

“Teenager Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers a group of cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) -his classmate and crush-who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier.”4

A great story, great acting and some dark themes which are not common in TV shows. This show intends to be hard, it intends to show some dark aspects of life of the person who is thinking about committing a suicide.
It gets pretty hardcore at the end. It makes you think and realise what you should do is sometimes very different from what you actually do.
13 Reasons Why has pretty high ranking right now and very good reviews. I highly recommend watching this TV show and share your opinion if you’ve already watched it.

Questions:
  1. Have you already watched some of these shows? If so, share your opinion about them.
  2. Which of these TV shows you would like to watch the most? Which story seems the most interesting for you?
  3. Do you know some new TV shows which might be interesting for us? Please share.

I haven't watched any of this shows. I droped watching TV shows, because of big time consumption they make. I like the idea of the Westworld, maybe I will find time to watch couple of episodes to check it out if I would like it. As I said, I'm not up to date with TV shows, but I like to watch the detective ones. So I recomend from the old ones: "Columbo" and "Agatha Christie's Poirot". From the newer ones: "True Detective" and "Sherlock".

As colleague above - I haven't seen any of those shows because I never have enough time but I heard something about Taboo. If I had to choose one show I would like to watch "13 Reasons Why" but there is no reason why. It seems cool for me. I usualy watch TV very seldom so I can't recommend anything interesting :(.

I haven't seen any of these shows yet.
The most interesting to me sounds the last one you've mentioned - "13 reasons why". I've also seen many ads about it and maybe I will watch it soon.
With no doubt my favorite TV show is Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch. It demands thinking and following the action with attention in order not to miss something. Other shows which I can recommend is for example "Black Mirror", but I think most of you have watched or although heard about. Another great TV show is "Narcos" - history of Pablo Escobar.

I love series from HBO and NETFLIX. I recommend them to everyone. I see that this topic is very often on this blog but I'm happy because I like good series. In my opinion series are better than films when you want to present a story. Reason is simple because series are longer than film. The last series I saw were Westworld and Taboo. They are very good but I think that Taboo is better. I hope that next series will be very quickly on TV. "FARGO" is series which I can recommend but not many people know it. It is really good series. It is about mafia from Fargo and some professional killer. Story is in Minessota. Not long ago they showed second season which is about a different story and other time but it is about mafia too. I recommend it to everyone.

I haven't watched any of the above shows or series, however I enjoy watching some series on Netflix. My favourite one is Stranger Things which is a sci-fi series. I think that the recently published series from Netflix are getting more and more interesting and well produced each year. I also recommend such series, everyone can find something for themselves.

Thanks for sharing! Currently I'm looking for a new show to watch. I already watched Westworld - I didn't really like the storyline and I think that it's not worth the hype around it, although it has a great cast and production. Anyway, it will not be the next "Game of Thrones" for HBO:) Can't remember any new shows to recommend - I can recommend watching the last season of Black Mirror (it doesn't have a single plot so you won't miss anything) - every episode (except the latest) is a masterpiece.
I haven't seen any of those shows, so I cannot express any reliable view about them. All these shows are highly ranked on imdb and your reviews affirms that.
If you ask me which ones I like to watch, the answer is “all of them”. If you ask me which ones I’m actually going to see, I wish the answer is “none of them”. Why? It’s really simple, some time ago I realized all these TV series took me too much of my free time. “.. it’s a great opportunity to start and watch all episodes at once” - believe me, I’m too familiar with this ;) To answer your question, “Westworld” seems to be especially interesting to watch. As you said, there are no any other TV shows like this or I haven’t heard of them at least.

Oh, I remember the time in my childhood when I was watching Columbo on the TV. I'm thinking about start watching "True Detective" because I've heard a lot good reviews about it! Also, l like Sherlock, as well.

If you have a time, you definitely should watch "13 reasons why". I just finished the season and really enjoyed it. By the way, this TV show has only one season, so it won't take a lot of time to watch it.

I like Sherlock too :) Really very very great show which makes me think. I've heard about Narcos, but haven't a chance to watched it yet.

I've heard about taboo, many of my friends watched it and really liked it. I need to give it a try in some free time. Personally I've watched only Westworld from this list, in my opinion it is one of the best TV show nowadays. I really like very good story line with a lot of mysteries and good actors, for example Anthony Hopkins.
Currently I'm watching Silicon Valley. It's a tv show about startup in famous silicon Valley in USA. It is really funny, but also shows some real IT startups problems, especially in USA. I strongly recommend it for all IT guys.
From all these shows I have only watched Westworld and it was really meh. From production side it's really good like anything from hbo. When you pump so much money into yours shows it must be good from production side, but story was boring form me. Show have a really good concept for story but after few episodes I get bored.
Rest of the shows I haven't watched and their descriptions don't convince me to watch them. From what I have watched lately I can recommend to watch BoJack Horseman and Stranger Things.

The only one show I have watched from your list was Westworld. It was quite satisfying with phenomenal acting style by Anthony Hopkins.
I have spend many hours watching it and I think it is one of shows you have to watch.
The last series I have seen recently was Narcos. It is about drug dealer Pablo Escobar, factual story placed in Columbia in 80's.
I have watched Westworld and Taboo, these are really good TV shows so I will definitely watch the other two from your list.
I have heard a lot about “13 reasons why” so I’ll probably watch it during the May break.
I watch a lot of TV shows so it is hard for me to choose one to recommend, but because of the recent air of new season I recommend Wentworth.
It’s an Australian TV series about women’s prison, I’d describe it as better “Orange is the new Black”.

I have once watched one series of anime - Death Note, and that's all I have watched. I don't watch any TV series as I consider them a waste of time. 47 seasons, 120 episodes in a season. "You HAVE TO watch them all". I prefer reading a book or watching a movie. Even reading an article about some topic.
I have read Stephen King's book Under the Dome (~1000 pages). Few years ago they made a TV series based on it. It has 40 episodes, 43 minutes each. 29h combined. It is short comparing to other series, but I bet reading a book is a way better experience for me.

I am watching Taboo and it is awesome. I have never heard about the other tv series listed above. My favs are Narcos, Black Sails, Fargo, True detective, Fortitude. I also like Big little lies - beautiful picture, cast and idea. Highly recommend.

Among three of these I would choose the last one, it seems to be meaningful.

1) Unfortunately i have not watched any of these shows yet.
2) I think i would choose Taboo, just because i love mysteries.
3) Yes i do. How about Sherloc Holmes or Monk? I can also say that Lucifer is quite interesting (the devil comes to earth to solve criminal mysteries)

Seen Westworld which I can recommend if someone is interested in human/robot nature. Really interesting. Plus it's that kind of tvshow which doesn't have countless seasons and episodes (yet), right straight to the point without too much stretching.
Other I can recommend:
Mr Robot for the IT geeks.
True Detective one of my favourites.
Black mirror - if you are interested in new technologies and how those can change society, you must see it.

Unfortunately I didn’t watch any of these shows. But I would like to see “13 reasons why”. The plot might be interesting for me I guess.
Recently I watched “Stranger Things” on Netflix. It was something new for me. I have never seen such a good film series before. The story takes place in the early 80’s. I recommended to everyone who likes mystery films on the edge of dream.

I already watched Westworld and catching up on last episodes of Taboo. I really like TV serials but can't always find time to watch every new one coming out. This year I also watched Girls and Big Little Lies. While I understand that Girls is not for everyone, Big Little Lies is a really good thriller / drama anyone can enjoy.

I'm not sure if I can answer the questions, even more I'm sure that I can't because I'm not a TV fan. I haven't seen any of those TV shows and I do not even want to because it's wasting valuable time for me. Okay, sometimes I like to watching movies excluding TV series but not so often. If I had to make a choise I would choose Taboo but it doesn't depend on anything.

I've watched Taboo and I loved it. Actually any movie/tv series with Hardy is great.
I've heard about "13 reasons why" and after correction session I'll watch it :)
My favourites series:
Peaky Blinders
Narcos
Fargo

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form.
