In times of globalisation contact with other languages is inevitable. It is estimated that more than half of the population is bilingual. The increase in migration, intensive economic exchange and fast developing tourism industry force people to learn foreign languages. Mass media and modern means of transport enable us to spread languages even faster. International marriages have never been more popular. All of these factors contribute to the growing number of bilingual people. Among them, there is one particular group which seems to benefit the most. In my opinion the best presentation of this semester is "Fanfiction 101". Even though I am not a fan of fanfiction (hihi), the presentation was exceptionally thorough, well thought out and it got me interested. It was also written with flawless English. I think that from now on it should be sent to the participants of this course at the beginning of each semester with a comment "make your presentations this good, please".
I choose this article because the topic is universal and we still know about "how we should cope with stress" too small. This is very needed knowledge.
I enjoyed the presentation of Patrycja "Books you have to read...Literally" the most.
Week 12 [13-19.06.2016] Poland through my eyes. - it was pretty interesting to get to know a foreigner's point of view
1) 'Life Hacks' by Cezary Góralski because of interesting and creative topic and 2) 'Don't look down' by Wojciech Kałkus because I've got fear of falling not fear of height, it was presentation which expanded my knowledge :)
Of course every presentation was interesting because you put a lot of heart in their creation. Thanks for everyone :)
- Week 9 [23.05 - 29.05] Martial arts
But of course almost every presentation was worth seeing. Sometimes the topics was really hard - like art for me. But Sometimes I could found a lot of interesting information about things that I'm not interested in like "Drones".
I really enjoyed "That sugar movie", it was very gripping and interesting to me.
One of my favourite presentation, mostly because it was very comprehensive is Sonia's post about fanfiction. I am not a big fan of this kind of thing, but the post gave me broad understanding of the topic.
Another presentation that I enjoyed was Jacek's post about board games - because I liked a topic and I hope to try games he described and games that people mentioned and recommended in comments :) Nice source of inspiration
I also liked this week's Moode's post about how he sees our country, it was really inspiring and interesting to see the world from somebody's perspective.
It was fun and something new, different then others presentation, it was also interesting topic for me.
There have been many presentations I enjoyed this semester, but I think I'll focus more on those that provided more substantial information this time. I really liked Paulina's 'Reasons To Give Up Meat', because it was very informative and answered most of the questions I had about the topic. I also really enjoyed both of Michał Pyceks's presentations: 'Vlog and Blog Power' and 'Transmedia Storytelling', because they deal with very current topics, as well as provide some academic research, which I have a thing for ;) And, also a very important issue, they were written in very correct English.
