Week 12 [13-19.06.2016] Best Presentation

Dear Students,
Vote for the best presentation made this term. Justify your choice please.

Comments

I have enjoyed many presentations this semester. They are getting better each year:) However, some of them introduced us to knowledge so specific that it was very hard to comment differently than "oh, ok... interesting".
In my opinion the best presentation of this semester is "Fanfiction 101". Even though I am not a fan of fanfiction (hihi), the presentation was exceptionally thorough, well thought out and it got me interested. It was also written with flawless English. I think that from now on it should be sent to the participants of this course at the beginning of each semester with a comment "make your presentations this good, please".

I liked the most 'Life Hacks' by Cezary Góralski, because they show how to make our life easier, the examples were very fascinating and helpful in real everyday life, I got into the subject and made me interested in other solutions like that.
I like the most "Basic income" by Marcin Kowarski, because it is recent, very hot subject among people that is important and should be discussed. I was very interested in opinion of young people about that, and thankfully they have the same opinion that I do. We also discussed 500+ and compared it to basic income idea.

I think I liked "The sugar film" post the most. It made me take a look at my everyday shopping. I noticed that in "local" small shops of popular in Poland franchaise there are much more things containing sugar/ sweets etc than "normal" products.

I like the most article "Stress" written by Svitlana Bilan.
I choose this article because the topic is universal and we still know about "how we should cope with stress" too small. This is very needed knowledge.

It's the end of the course and my last term. To be honest I always hoped that people would put at least a minimum effort into their presentations and try to make them interesting for others. As the other Paulina mentioned even though there were a lot of good ones there were also a lot of those extremely hard to comment on with a lot of errors.

I enjoyed the presentation of Patrycja "Books you have to read...Literally" the most.
My favorite presentation was 'The weirdest dishes and beverages' by Marta K (Week 6 [02.04 - 08.04]). As someone who loves to travel and try new things, especially when it comes to food and drinks, I really liked the choice of unconventional dishes from around the world. I hope to experience at least a couple of them in my lifetime.

I like the most two presentations:
1) 'Life Hacks' by Cezary Góralski because of interesting and creative topic and 2) 'Don't look down' by Wojciech Kałkus because I've got fear of falling not fear of height, it was presentation which expanded my knowledge :)
Of course every presentation was interesting because you put a lot of heart in their creation. Thanks for everyone :)

The most entertaining presentation for me was:
- Week 9 [23.05 - 29.05] Martial arts

But of course almost every presentation was worth seeing. Sometimes the topics was really hard - like art for me. But Sometimes I could found a lot of interesting information about things that I'm not interested in like "Drones".

I liked more than one presentation that I really enjoyed and the reason for each one is quite different:

I really enjoyed "That sugar movie", it was very gripping and interesting to me.

One of my favourite presentation, mostly because it was very comprehensive is Sonia's post about fanfiction. I am not a big fan of this kind of thing, but the post gave me broad understanding of the topic.

Another presentation that I enjoyed was Jacek's post about board games - because I liked a topic and I hope to try games he described and games that people mentioned and recommended in comments :) Nice source of inspiration

I also liked this week's Moode's post about how he sees our country, it was really inspiring and interesting to see the world from somebody's perspective.

Well... Some guy made awesome presentation about some board games and thrilling one about dark side of e-Sports. I wish I could have made them, as they were perfect. And speaking seriously, "Sneak, distract, take down - stealth games dismantled" by Aleksandra Grigorian because I spent something like 40 hours playing Dishonored after that one. And "Keep talking and nobody explodes" by Natalia Smoczynska because I played that one and it was awesome.

I like when a presentation is both entertaining and well-researched, even if it's a bit controversial. Surely, crowd pleasers are easier to comment on, but I think it's possible to have both.

There have been many presentations I enjoyed this semester, but I think I'll focus more on those that provided more substantial information this time. I really liked Paulina's 'Reasons To Give Up Meat', because it was very informative and answered most of the questions I had about the topic. I also really enjoyed both of Michał Pyceks's presentations: 'Vlog and Blog Power' and 'Transmedia Storytelling', because they deal with very current topics, as well as provide some academic research, which I have a thing for ;) And, also a very important issue, they were written in very correct English.

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds often come fr

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and naturally.
