[Week 6] Interesting and modern office is important?

Recently I visited a few offices. Small or large, old or modern, stimulating creativity or overpowering. I decided to look for more good and bad examples on the internet.

I began to wonder what an awesome office should have. I won't write that great people are needed because everyone knows about it. I would like to focus only on tangible things. Different people, different needs, and this is what office should include. Some people need places to work in total silence, in solitude, some people have to work in a group. As I mentioned groups, it is worth noting that each department operates in its own specific way. Traders still talk on the phone, graphic designers look for inspiration, developers need enclosed spaces, recruiters have mass meetings. And so on and so forth. I'll show a few companies, which in my opinion reached the goal.

1.  Trivago - they have great relaxation rooms:

 2. Spotify - praise the huge spaces, adapted to work in a group:

3. Google - dozens of offices, and each triggers a ton of positive energy:

4.  GoldenLine - and something in Poland:

Hammocks, grass on the floor, gaming consoles, wall adapted for writing with chalk or glass walls for markers, Budda-Bags, darts, football and ping-pong tables, billiards this things aren't necessities. However, more and more employers are investing in such additives. American scientists (:P) proved that a moment of relaxation every 2-3 hours, dramatically increase productivity. Profit from this investment is therefore on both sides.

I think the kitchen deserves a separate paragraph. Why? Because for me it is a place of daily informal meetings. Together eaten lunches, coffee and desserts really integrate people. You can meet someone from the private side. Well, here we also can use some help of well furnished office :). And as usual, the perfect example is the Google's office in Tel Aviv:

Small section of subjective opinion. I'm lucky to work in such a company. What does it it give me? All these material things make me feel good almost like at home. When I want to work alone, I go to a silent room. When I need organize a creative meeting we work in special areas stimulating the mind. It is so important from me that I would not be able to close in a small cube and work like a little ant.

I am very glad that people make more and more of these great places.
What about you?
What do you think?
Encouraged to work?
Would you like to work in these offices?

I don;t work in any company, I'm trying to move my own small firm with clothing etc. Right now I don't have enough money to loan anything, but when I'll have a normal shop, for sure I'll put few relaxing things inside, so maybe even customers could relax, and drink coffee, while their friends would try some new clothes etc. Who knows? Maybe this would work? :)

In my work there is no such cosmic places, i have old school room.
I think i can't focus on work because rooms look like in kindergarten.
Encouraged to work? - Definitely not,
Would you like to work in these offices? - Definitely Yes, although I would try
I’ve never worked before in such of this kind of office, but I think the perfect department should including four of this presented solutions and naturally have an separated canteen. Thankfully nowadays there is more and more companies which are take care of them workers to keep him physically and mentally rested.
Certainly I probably be encouraged to work in such of this kind of “developed” office.

I think the work environment and the way the office looks and feels and the people you work with are amongst the top most important things about choosing a work place.

I really like my office. Fact is, I only work with a few people and the office is located in a spacious villa that could house a big family. We have a conference room with a terrace and lots of sofas around for a power nap. We have a big screen tv for anyone's use (my coworker brought Playstation) and a small garden in front. I think it will be hard for me to change my job anytime soon ;-)

It's great that some employers finally understood that if they take care of the worker a bit more than average company does, then this person will surely stay with them for a long time and will engage in work deeply. In many modern companies the office is no longer associated with work only but also with all different social activities. In some firms there's a room to play sport, get a massage, take a bath, watch a movie, play pool billiards and many many more. Such design offices ensure employees never lack creativity. They stimulate the senses, which in case of some jobs is essential. And I'm sure they encourage you to work - would you rather stay 8 hours daily in one of the thousands of grey boxes, not allowed to talk to loud, laugh or (oh no!) relax for a minute or work in one of the offices shown in the article?

On the other hand we should be aware that how the office looks is one thing but how the employer actually treats you is the other. I'm not so sure the big corpos are truly so concerned for some small employees...
Yes, I would like to work in these offices. Photos doubtless encourage to work, but not for any kind of job. Company pay for relaxing and thinking ? Cool. Jobs generally looks like rat race. Unfortunately employees have a deadlines, someone always wants something etc. There is no time to rest. I would like to believe in corporate paradise, but I’m sceptical for this beautiful picture. I saw good commercial last week. You can join to goldenline team with modern and interesting office. Check it out : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buf2IFd8VzU

I work at a startup, so we try to buy the most important stuff first. However, we do have a Fatbag, an Xbox 360 and a few big armchairs. Not many people use the console nowadays due to lack of time. I think all this extra stuff is only effective when people really want to work. They'll know when to relax and when to focus on meeting deadlines. I personally like taking breaks during the day but it does slow me down when writing code.

What about you?
I think that the idea of such offices is very interesting. However, it depends on the profession. Personally, I would like to have a place to rest or extraordinary desk at work.
What do you think?
In my opinion it depends on the profession. For example, a lawyer's office doesn't fit to office style like this.
Encouraged to work?
I think that such offices make work more effective.
Would you like to work in these offices?
I really does, I think it would be a very attractive point when searching for a new job.

Once I have heard that in company I work for we have such relaxation room on the other floor. Unfortunately we haven’t found anyone who have access to that room. I also know that other departments for their monthly budget buy such things as table football or remote controlled helicopter etc. However I have never had opportunity to use such things at work. To me it is not necessary, but it probably have good influence on atmosphere and integration among people.
Probably I am one of the few people who isn't interested in al these ideas. I never use the office kitchen, I rarely get into informal chat with my co workers (usually only in the early morning, before real work starts) and actually I much prefer it that way. When I come to work I want to focus on working. Also I don't like having any distractions at work – my ideal office would probably be one, where every workers has he's own room or something similar. When I sit on the open-space I basically have my headphone on all the time and most people in the office work similarly. I'm not saying that the people I work with aren't worth getting known better – it's just the fact that I don't like getting distracted at work. I prefer to focus on my job so that once I leave the office I can forget all about it.

Week 12 (12.01-18.01.15) Are you an early bird or a night owl ?

Owls are nocturnal creatures. They’re wide awake at night and they sleep during the day. If this sounds like bliss to you, then, like about 20 percent of the population who find themselves most active at around 9 pm, you may fall into the same category as our feathered friend. Night owls often have difficulty waking up in the morning, and like to be up late at night.  Studies of animal behaviour indicate that being a night owl may actually be built into some people’s genes. This would explain why those late-to-bed, late-to-rise people find it so difficult to change their behaviour. The trouble for night owls is that they just have to be at places such as work and school far too early. This is when the alarm clock becomes the night owl’s most important survival tool. Experts say that one way for a night owl to beat their dependence on their alarm clocks is to sleep with the curtains open. The Theory is that if they do so, the morning sunlight will awaken them gently and natura...

Week 11 [03-09.06.2019] The problem with ecological cars emission in UK

The problem with ecological cars emission in UK Since the adoption of the European Emission Allowance Directive in the European Parliament, all car makers have tried to submit. Since 1992, the Euro I standard has been in force, which limited the emission of carbon monoxide to the atmosphere. The Euro VI standard currently applies, which limits the series of exhaust gases. These include: hydrocarbons, nitrogen and carbon oxides, and dust.   The most significant change was brought by the Euro IV standard. For the first time it introduced the limitation of nitrogen oxides, which are responsible for the harmful compounds of smog.   What is smog?   Smog consists of sulfur oxides, nitrogen and carbon. In addition, solid substances such as suspended dust (PM). Dust suspend in atmospheric aerosols may be in liquid and solid form. These can be particles of sea salt, clouds from the Sahara and artificial compounds made by people. These compounds...
