Making a tattoo is a popular form of body art nowadays. This kind of body modifications shows personal expression, experiences or beliefs. Tattooing has been practiced in the world since at least Neolithic times. The oldest discovery of tattooed human skin to date is found on the body of Ötzi the Iceman, dating to between 3370 and 3100 BC.
Tattooing in the ancient world had many meanings. In acient Egypt people used tattoos for status, healing, religion and as a form of punishment. On the other hand, in ancient China, tattooing was a barbaric practise and was identified with bandits. Also, in Qing dynasty, tattooing criminals' faces was a common method to recognise a prisoner. Tattooing has been a part of life in the Philippines since pre-Hispanic colonization of the Philippine Islands. Filipinos were using tattoos as a form of rank and accomplishments. They also believed that tattoos had magical properties. In ancient Japan, tattoos were used for spiritual and esthetic purposes.

Nowadays, people make tattoos mainly for decorative purposes, but there are also other reasons. For example, a person who gets inked wants to pay a tribute to someone who he/she loves or lost. There are also people who like the pain and they are also, in some sense, addicted to it.

There are still many controversies connected with this kind of body modification. Often people with tattoos are believed to be criminals or past-prisoners. Sometimes, they also have problems with finding a job. Although, they are qualified professionals. In my opinion, this is ridiculous, because employers should check person's skills instead of judging by the looks. Personally, I wouldn't hire a person with face tattoos, because it isn't serious, but I wouldn't have a problem to hire a person with a few tattoos or even a sleeve tattoo, they can be covered under a suit.

There also can be health risks of tattoos. We have to remember that when an artist uses a handheld machine, the device makes a hole and injects ink into the dermis — the second layer of skin below the epidermis, so it damages the skin and can cause complications such as:
- allergic reaction to tattoo dyes, which may develop years later; signs of an allergic reaction include a rash at the tattoo site
- skin infection, such as a staph infection or tuberculosis
- development of nodules of inflamed tissue called granulomas around the tattoo site
- formation of keloids, which are overgrowths of scar tissue
- blood-borne diseases, such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, and tetanus; these can be contracted by using contaminated tattoo needles that haven’t been sanitized
- interference with future magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) tests
- burning or swelling at the tattoo site
Questions:
1) Do you like this kind of body modification?
2) Do you have tattoos or are you going to make one?
3) What do you think about body modifications in general?
4) If you were an employer, would you hire a person with tattoos?

When I was younger I dreamed about it and now I'm thinking if I'm sure and if I really like my idea to see if it's good one.
I think, in general, that this is your decision witch have some consequences. It may look cool, but it may cause some problems with job for example.
It depends - there are jobs where it is unwelcome - for example in corporations, because you shouldn't be remebered by your looks (of course those big tatoos, impossible to hide)
In general I think that tattoos are very personal thing. If someone want's to have one, nobody should prohibit doing it.
If I were an employer I would rather hire tattooed person until his or her tattoos weren't brutal, unprintable or offensive. I wouldn't hire a person with tattoos on head or face. It's overstatement in my opinion.
Society still believes that most people, who get tattoos, are either outlaws, or rebellious people by nature. Those bound by tradition, culture and values don’t like it if their kids get a tattoo. It is still considered ‘unholy’ by some, while others consider it as a sign of you acting as a ‘wannabe’. It makes it seem as if you need an external stamp on your body to get people’s attention.
It’s controversial:
Some religions do not support the idea of tattoos on one’s body. Moreover, depending on what design you are getting made, people around could get offended. Your entry to places of worship could be banned, and anything explicit can ruin your personal and public image.
I saw your last photo with a doctor and when I think about tatoos, always I imagine this photo. It shows well how people can perceive others.
I would hire person with tattoos without a doubt. However, if he or she had contact with clients, they couldn't have tattoo on face or neck (places, that are, let's say controversial for many people to have tattoos on them).
I don’t have any tattoos, and although I think that I would want one, I will probably won’t have any ever.
I just get bored too quickly and before my tattoo would completely heal I would probably have scheduled laser removal of it.
2)No I don't have them and I think in the next 5 years they do not appear , I'm not a fan of tattoos.
3)To be honest I don't see the slightest sense , but from a different point of view if the person sees sense why not ? Now grows body modification for geeks when under the skin, they insert different NFC chips for such as opening doors , it's very funny , but again I don't see the point.
4)Yes, why not ? I don't see nothing wrong with that , if only those tattoos , for example on the face.
tattoos are the best looking.
I wouldn't have problem to hire a tattooed person, but there are some jobs, which require good self presentation, being reliable and tattoos doesn't help at all.
Sometimes tatoos are a really good piece of art (like those watercolor ones). But generally I don't like them and I wouldn't want to have one.
I think that body modifications are people's way of expressing themselves, so I'm trying not to judge them by their tatoos or piercing. However if a person's face is full of metal and ink I won't take them seriously (I have never met such a person yet). I have a friend who tatooes herself every time something important happens in her life - and 'important' is not necessarily 'good'. This is her way to deal with a difficult situation (remembering to stay strong).
If I were an employer I would first check my future employee's responsibilities - if he or she had to deal with customer I would make sure the tatoos can be covered with suit. And of course it depends on a field - the tatooed artist or graphic designer would not be considered unprofessional, unlike white collar worker.
Like them but only if there are not too much of them and made with a good taste and meaning. I know lot of people that made it just to have one without any good reason.
2) Do you have tattoos or are you going to make one?
Have none - do not need them, but maybe someday. Have few scars from motorcycle - these are mine original tattoos :)
3) What do you think about body modifications in general?
Everything is good when it is done with good taste and for a good reason.
4) If you were an employer, would you hire a person with tattoos?
Have few employees with them but not too visible. Job need good presentation and tattoos do not go good with that.
2) Maybe you will change your mind. Time will show!
3) It's all about fun! If somebody wants something and it doesn't hurt other people - why not!
4) Then you would be a good employer if you didn't judge by their look!
2) If you wanted to make a tattoo, what would be it? Oh, so you discovered a new way of making tattoos! :)
3) I agree with you statment.
4) But if you those employers don't have contant with clients, why not?
I don't have tatoos and I can't think of an image that would not bother me in the future. People change, tatoo you like now will probably be ridiculous in 10 years. If I were an employer I wouldn't care about tatoos, skills are more important.
2. Nope, and I'm not going to make one due to reason above.
3. It's based on a taste - I don't have anything against them as long as you do not have an urge of modifying every single part of your body in some weird and hard to understand way just because you can.
4. Depends on a job - I don't have anything against if that's a guy working in front of PC writing code, but I wouldn't want one to go have direct contact with my clients. It also depends on what kind of tattoo we're talking about, because a small, even visible one wouldn't hurt so much, but if we look at a guy covered with tattoos everywhere, then that's definitely not somebody I'd send on a meeting.
I'm terrified of needles so I'll pass on making one for myself but depending on art some tattoos can look marvelous, some carry an obvious or hidden message, some you can hardly notice, some can mask a scar. It's highly personal and I think you can tell much about person just from their tattoo.
As for hiring people with tattoos, it depends on the job position, is it strictly customer service? I don't think people with scary-face tattoos would want to work with customers directly anyway ;)
Personally I don’t have a tattoo but there is no obstacle to having one in the future. I have some designs that I like and maybe ( if I don’t change my mind ) I will choose the best one.
I don’t mind working with the people having tattoos even if I don’t like their look. That’s their own decision and as long as they don’t use any strange symbols, texts etc. offending other people, I have no problem with that.
You are maybe right, but you can make a tattoo what you won't be ashamed of, because it will be remind of younger version of you :)
2) I have one but i'm thinking about making another one.
3) In moderation everything is for people. As long as it does not stab my eyes with forks i'm okay with it :)
4) Yes, if that person was a diligent worker. Tattoos don't change who the person really is.
I know a guy with the face tattoos and he is very polite, smart and kind. I would be glad to have such employee.
I have three tattoos: on my wrist, neck and back. And I am going to have more if I will find the perfect one for me again.
Also I don't understand when people say when I will get old it would look ugly - do you really think your old body will look beautiful without it?:)
I don't mind if someone is tattooed but I won't make any tatoo - not my style.
3) What do you think about body modifications in general?
In general I think - my body, my decision.
4) If you were an employer, would you hire a person with tattoos?
In general - yes but it depends on job, I won't hire a face-tattooed person as a salesman...
